Healer was my first Kdrama for the current round, I had rounds before with Japanese and Korean dramas, but this time I think its here to stay. Healer was the happy cause my friend was recommended me to see it, it was engaging at the very first episode seasoning with action, mystery and romance. The main lead, Ji Chang Wook, was excellent, his female lead Park Min Young was so so in this Kdrama. The chemistry was a little forced and I'm not sure who needs to be blame here. The plot was full with action from the right kind and not too force, Kdrama should be more like the Healer.

Unique story with excellent acting

This is one of my favorite dramas. It has great acting, a unique storyline, it’s fast paced with lots of action, the leads have great chemistry and a touching romance, and all of the side characters are well fleshed out with depth and growth.

Storyline:
I’ve watched hundreds of dramas and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a plot similar to this one. The male lead is a specialized courier that transports highly sensitive goods at a premium price. He’s extremely talented and is similar to James Bond in his skills. There’s a lot of scenes that will remind you of James Bond or Mission Impossible. One of his jobs requires him to get close to the female lead who is a rookie reporter. When they find out that not only do they have a shared past but that murder was involved, they decide to solve the mysteries of their past together which puts their lives in danger. The action scenes are really good, there are some great side characters, the romance is touching, and there’s lots of character growth.

Acting:
The male lead (Ji Chang Wook- a favorite of mine) pulls off the wounded, unwanted orphan that wants to be left alone really well. He draws you in with his sad and lonely life. And as you see him go from a tough badass to a sweet little puppy so seamlessly, you can’t help but be impressed with his acting skills. The female lead with her quirky little dances and spunky personality endears you to her. This is early on in Park Min Young’s career but you can already see her great acting skills shining through. From the female leads dad, to the genius hacker, to their madly successful reporter friend, the acting stands out in this drama.

Romance:
The romance is done so well in this drama. They fall in love gradually, at a realistic pace. But once they finally get together their chemistry is explosive. They never doubt one another and always have each other’s back. There’s lots of kisses, hugs, cuddles, and skinship. And yes, the kisses are realistic and steamy.

This drama will take you on a journey of emotions from sad and crying to laughing to being on the edge of your seat. It has just the right amount of sadness and angst too. There’s just enough to get you interested without being too over the top and upsetting you. And the mystery and suspense is really good. If there was anything I found fault with it was how convoluted and complicated the story was which was hard to follow sometimes. If it weren’t for that it would be a perfect 10. But it’s still an excellent drama worthy of watching multiple times.

Interesting...

I have started watching K-dramas since 2019 and I have learned the formulae they follow and the facets that make up a 30-60 mins, 16-20 episodes. With that being said I'm no K-drama connoisseur(at least not yet) but throughout my viewing experience, I was engrossed in the scenes that would affect the protagonists severely. Everything was in order, 18 episodes in, with the good side cast trying to get out of the enemy's web but it was all hopeless until the they write in a Dues ex machina in the form of biochemicals. Don't get me wrong, I think it was alright since they did some foreshadowing with the russian coverup that Ji Chang Wook used, but why was that the killing blow for the antagonists only leaves me to ask more questions. Hacking scenes are your classic clichés, spamming the keyboard and hitting enter to signify the hack or whatever. It's tiring to see it. But I can forgive it since it's part of the drama experience, everything is exaggerated and that is fine. The cast was alright, nothing to write home about. Park min young's role is pretty simple and tame. At first I was interested to see how her upbringing with ex-convicts would have played an important role but most of time she ends up in these situations where she is helpless and needs Ji Chang Wook to save her. But, I was surprised to find that a show that totals 20 hrs in viewtime fails to end gracefully or at least that's how I felt. In the past, I would despise an entire show/drama just for its ending being rushed, but I think it's unfair especially if the show/drama is captivating through its story telling and good cast. I would have liked to see some closure about the ending but alas this drama was released in 2014 and I'm writing this review 3 days after watching the show in 2021.

One of the best Kdrama of all times. If you want to go for the best romantic thriller drama, Here it is. I'll give it 10/10 since it has EVERYTHING that a romantic thriller drama must have.
It is the drama that has the Best plot, best story along with the amazing superb romance and chemistry between the leads. Ji chang wook and park min young were the best for their roles of Healer and Chae young shin respectively. Music keeps grabbing your attention throughout the series.
Not only love, but the concept of family is also impressive, along with the best portrayal of what reporters have to face in order to support some reality or truth.
No side characters and no over acting. I didn't get bored EVEN FOR A SECOND while watching Healer.
A must watch ??

Ji Chang Wook and Park Min Young - Perfection!

Healer is fantastic, from the first scene to the last. Ji Chang Wook is perfectly cast as Healer Seo Jung Hoo/Bong Soo, a night courier who can get any job done, for the right price. Chang Wookie was born to play roles like this, he is well suited to the physical and athleticism that makes the part so appealing. Park Min Young, as ever, is a joy. How lucky are all the leading men she has worked with? She has effortless chemistry with them all. Yoo Ji Tae and the fabulous Kim Mi Kyung round out the main cast.

Coat Rating - A solid 7, some very nice coats, but I will forever be enamoured by lovely Chang Wookie in his black leather jacket, zipped up tight, black jeans and boots. I think he should dress in nothing else.

Highly recommended.

Action/Thriller/Romance and JICHANGWOOK

I just finished watching this drama...and I feel nothing right now.
I feel numb... and in an hour..i'm planning to watch episode 15 and 16 of TRUE BEAUTY. I am not ready.
Sorry to include another kdrama but, my feelings right now will be crushed by the end of today. I hope you guys understand. HAHA.
Anyways, I've always wanted to watch this but sometimes I lose intrest or scared.. but
Out of nowhere, I felt like I should watch it, cuz I miss Ji chang wook... and IDEK
WHATVER, But... this drama was amazing!! The cast, genre, plot, settings, and action.
The kissing scene tho!! that was fire!! They may not have kiss a lot, but their chemistry was on point.
Every time an episode ends it makes me want to keep going even though I have SCHOOOL!!! Guys, just a head up, If you're planning to watch this, please do so on the weekend because you might get stressed out when ur behind school haha.
I wish they showed us more scenes on how they fell for each other, like... it's kinda...obvs, but not really. Especially the mother and daughter scene.. I would die for their scenes!
Each episode was flawless, it wasn't rushed or drag but on the last episode, I feel like they rushed it, and the ending just made me tear up due to that reason. The TWIST PER EPISODE Was to die for tho!!!
I don't know what else to say but, if you're looking for a thriller, action, and less romance, that is not cringing... then I recommend this!!

Healer and his hacking partner runs errands for whoever pays them. He meets an internet news site reporter chae yong shin during one of his errands. Chae yong shin admires a famous news reader kim moon ho and considers him as her idol. Healer was given a task of finding more about chae yong shin by kim moon ho. So healer joins the reporting team of chae yong shin as her junior. Healer comes across a photograph of his father and his friends at kim moon ho's brother's place and the same photo is there with chae yong shin as well. Healer has the same photograph along with him. Healer doesn't have any family. His father and four other friends ran a pirate radio show back then. As healer digs more into chae yong shin's family background, he comes to know some unsettling truths about his own father . He finds out that his father was framed for murdering his own friend. He tries to prove his father's innocence while winning over chae yong shin's heart. Jo chang wook, Park Min Young and Yoo Ji Tae all have acted well. A good story and script. A Miniseries without any draggy episodes. An amazing and interesting drama, a must watch from me.

Actually this my first time writting a review.????
These days i didn’t watch many drama and before I already dropped so many dramas. Like goblin, scarlet heart ryo etc.
So when I decided to watch healer I didn’t expect anything. But it turns out to be super GOOD drama??
Healer hold a special place in my heart.

The first eps may seems long, they introduced so many characters in one eps so I got their name mix up and the story is really hard to understand. ????
But its getting better and got me hooked after 8 episode????

The storyline is like no other and I do like their parents back story. It has so many plot twist and has a little bit of everything, action, romance, mystery and comedy. And what i like the most about the story is there is no love triangle in the drama. Yayy! Since I always have a second male lead syndrome I’m happy they don’t have it here. ??

Ji chang wook and park min young have a really great chemistry and i just love seeing them together. From the first moment when they meet, the night’s telephone scene, the hug schene and of course the ‘snow’ kiss schene. I love everything ???? They’re really cute and sweet together. My couple goals.

Overall I loved this drama. The story was interesting and was beautifully put together.
The only thing I didn't like was the ending, I need more! So many unfinished questions, this is why we need season 2!

Dislikes/ questions:
- What happened to Munsik and the boss, the left the story with too little detail about them. I know they got caught but I need to see them getting what they deserved... (Sorry I don't know how to explain that well)
- I need to see a better happy ending with the leads! The ending was cute though :)
- More scenes with Jian and her mom, I felt like their relationship wasnt strong enough
- What happened to MoonHo liking Jian, he didn't really have that much chemistry with her and wasn't much of a second male lead, (which is good cus i like Jian and healer scenes, lol)
- Master dying ????

Likes:
- Ajumma character, she is so funny and makes the series more up lifting
- The female lead doesn't create big problems from misunderstandings (unlike most kdramas )
- The healers bad ass character then cute Bosong
- The fight scenes
- Cute chemistry between leads
- Everything linking together

One of the best kdrama, a must-see

Healer was the first Kdrama i watched.... Being not a fan of any Asian TV, i reluctantly watch it just to please my mum. Well, 3 months later i'm a kdrama addict and a huge Ji Chang Wook Fan... Never say never.

Healer has it all : great acting, great story with a superman vibe (no superpower), action, suspens, drama, love, humour, family. The story is well paced, and nicely done, with flashbacks helping understand the relationships between the charaters of the past and our heroes.. and helping us understand what went wrong all those years ago.
I love how the relationships between all the main characters developps, especially between the couple, the journalist and the hacker.
The romance is wonderful, full of very romantic moments, it's magic..
I don't know how many times I watched it but it was a lot...
The only negative thing i could say is that the end is a little rushed... Apart from that, it's a perfect kdrama!!!

It usually takes me three episodes before I commit to a drama. This one had me hooked by 5 minutes. And I never wavered. Not once.

The male lead's character was written perfectly. He's why women have trouble with real men...they can't measure up to this guy. Add to that the actor's skill and, you're in danger, girl! Honestly the writing was perfection as well. The double life aspect of the male lead was perfectly done.

Tying the past of the two leads together was done with precision and cleverness. The show runners gave you just enough to want more without being stingy with information. It slowly comes together for us as it does for the main leads. Their friendship developing into something more happens slowly and sweetly with only hints of sadness as they struggle with their pasts.

The supporting cast was STELLAR. Adjumma...I salute you! You are the perfect foil to healer. I would watch this drama over and over again if there weren't so many others in my "to watch" list. :D

Absolutely to watch

I read a lot of over enthusiastic reviews, so I decided to give it a try. I usually prefer romantic dramas, completely centered on the main couple, so I was a bit skeptical and then...bam! "Healer" hits you right in the face and in the heart. I think it's one of the best dramas that I ever watched and, believe me, I really watch a lot.
I usually feel the need to skip or FF some boring scenes, but truth is there is none.
First of all, actors (both main and secondary) are absolutely stunning and their performances are excellent, really superb. Very good chemistry among everyone so every scene of love, friendship, hate, jokes...everythink looked perfectly natural.
I really like both ML and FL as actors and I really enjoyed seeing how well they performed, once again.
Music is very enticing and in harmony with what happens. Quality is really high and the songs are never annoying.
Last, but not least, the story is amazing. I usually hate flashbacks, but here are placed in a time and place that helps building suspence, releasing a lot of emotions and the make you understand every character in a better way. The complexity is perfect and never forced, I found no missing pieces of the puzzle, no plotholes, and I simply had to binge-watch the show, as I was so eager to know more and more.
The only thing I'm not so sure about is the rewatch value: once you know everything about the story and you have no suspence, I'm not so sure it would give the same feeling.
