The first episode was kind of awkward, but it was easy to get into it and follow it loyally till the few last episodes. The drama likes to play a lot on the contrast between Tae Woon and Ji Na which worked till up to episode 10 or so, however after that I felt like the plot started to drag out considerably. The tone of the show was not as colorful anymore and I found hard to feel for Tae Woon's situation. They started to pull out a lot of excuses and issues that were never actually a problem, also apologizing and taking blame for something that was not even in their power to stop and I really feel like episodes 12 and 13 were a complete waste of time. The story only got up to 7 for me because it attempted to be fresh and entertaining for most of the time, but in the end it just bit itself with it.
Character and cast wise, I feel like No Min Woo did a really good job. It was a new role for him that I think he handled perfectly, no matter how badly written Tae Woon might have been. However the rest of the characters tend to shine for a while and then bite themselves and going back to be simply "cliche'd troupes"; of the genre. Ji Na was a brilliant character that through the last few episodes just started to act like a dead fish, letting the people around her monologue their pains to her and she being completely ambigous about it. They turned an initially ambitious woman in a Marry Sue that can't tie two thoughts together and don't tell me that she had a reason for it because the drive and bluntness she had in the beginning couldn't have just jumped out the window. It was a complete waste of potential. Kang Hee Chul is also one of the strong points of the show in the beginning and safely stays as one till the last 10 minutes of the last episode, he completely took the spotlight from Tae Woon more than once, he was intriguing and I really liked his inner struggle between his feelings and his ambitions; a complex character that in the end just didn't deliver because of the "second main guy" barrier and because I guess the plot demanded him to. About Hye Mi, she also surprised me in a pleasant way, I didn't expect her to be that likeable and I feel it's the first time besides maybe Bride of the Century case that I really felt for her and I hoped she will get something good out of it all...but that too backlashed at her when she started to act too much like a pain and a badly used cliche. However the actors didn't disappoint. This drama actually made me curious in following Jung Yoon Hak. He wasn't perfect, but I find him to have a very fascinating charm that other actors miss.
Soundtrack wise it was...alright I guess. Average. Forgettable. I usually do pay attention to these things, so this time I really didn't feel like any of the songs stand out. Some were nice and funny, but that's really all.
You know? I really wanted to give this drama a 7 but in the end counting all overall problems that I had with it in the last 6 episodes, I just couldn't bring myself to. 7 is still a Good rating for me but it was more closer to Fine (6) due to its trying to be original and I chose to value that.

The good: In at least 4 different episodes I had laughing fits, the uncomfortable nature of the comedy in the beginning had me literally rolling on the floor. How hot is No Min Woo? I needed a few more fanservice shots, but we have a topless No Min Woo, a wet No Min Woo and a guitar playing No Min Woo. No Min Woo was so believable, that I thought he was playing a mentally challenged adult. But No Min Woo is not the only actor that stood out, the whole supporting cast was really good with few exceptions. I felt as if every character in this story had some development, change or epiphany, and unlike many other dramas the change was so gradual, realistic and well planned. In real life every event or situation we encounter challenges our way of thinking and sometimes our mode of operation causing us to evaluate ourselves- I liked that the characters also went through the same. The ending was sweet, but it should have taken 2 more episodes to complete.
The Bad: The first episode turned me away from this drama because the main female lead appeared to be manipulative (but she wasn’t).The second male lead looked so old in some shots and I could not connect with his acting plus occasionally Yang JinSung’s face looked frozen (maybe it was the makeup used?).
I would really recommend this drama as a rom-com that is funny, a little raunchy, written for folks over 17, and No Min Woo stans . The story has a great message, a great cast and a really good ending. There are no evil mothers, spiteful ex-girlfriends, and the love triangle formed was so super weak that there was no real need to “fight” for love. I liked it give it 3 episodes and you will too!

The plot could have been more focused on Tae-Won's traumatic childhood, giving emphasis why he is the way he is. It is not your typical korean drama where the main characters take on a drastic change. Tae Won stayed the same and through his character, we can see the impact on the second male lead.
Great and refreshing to watch!

The acting wasn't so good, half of the cast overacted the other underacted. The whole plot is so simple it calls for some amazing acting but that's something this drama lacks. No Min Woo played his role well and some of the office employees managed to bring their characters to life. But unfortunately, the main couple had no chemistry and whenever Ji Na sshi and Hee Chul shared screen time Yang Jin Sung became a statue and it seemed like Yung Joon Hak was talking all to himself. This killed all the atmosphere.
Once the side characters grew on me they suddenly disappeared from the picture and in the end the whole plot turned out to be pretty pointless and empty. Some big changes happened towards the end but it wasn't really exciting since everything seemed irrelevant. Now when I look back at the drama I realize that nothing really happened. This show has nothing to offer.

I rated it 8.5 so go watch it, it's short and will make you smile and laugh :)
My Unfortunate Boyfriend is a very sweet drama, with a very sweet story behind.
No Min Woo is as usual a very good actor and Yang Jin Sung is doing great also, as they have really candid and sweet roles to play. 2 cheerful, candid almost stupid character ^^
Since the drama begins with a very cute and almost stupid encounter, the plot is building itself among each episode very well. You can see the relationship evolving and I find the character of Yoo Ji Na really human in her hesitations and wondering about which man to chose.
The song are going pretty well with the story, always light and cute. The kisses always appear in good scenes, and if you like dramas in which a kiss doesn't mean anything, this one is the good one :D

I also liked a lot the so-called antagonist, Hye-Mi, she was so nice! The nicest antagonist of k-drama I ever seen and also so cute!
Please understimate this drama, it's great to cheer you up when you're not feeling well and it's not so 'harsh' or complicated as others. It's simple, some may say boring (but I didn't find it boring at all, otherwise I wouldn't have finished it in 3 days), but it's really a sweet and original story. Watch it!

I started this drama because of No Min Woo but the way his character was written, especially in the beginning, was horrible! I could not, at any point, see him as a romantic contender for the lead girl. In fact, I just could not see the character as a romantic partner for anyone. He came across as a child. One who has never reached puberty and likely never will. What made it so much worse was how, in the first few episodes, the writers did all they could to creep the viewer out by adding such obvious sexual inneuendo and outright blatant sexual situations meant to be comical but instead come across as cheesy and inappropriate. With the character written to behave emotionally like a 10 year old, I found myself feeling almost dirty while watching. Thank goodness the writers eventually got a clue and stopped including it. It made the rest of the drama watchable and even cute.
I still would have given this drama a lower score, though, thanks to the godawful beginning episodes, the cheesy writing and the simplistic, nothing special plot. However, what made me rate it as high as a 7 was because: 1. It did become rather cute and ended very heartwarming and 2. Jung Yoon Hak. Seriously. This guy needs a lead role now! As much as I love No Min Woo, JYH stole the show for me. I was having some major second lead syndrome going on here. His character was much more interesting and complex.
Not to mention sexy!
Bottom line. Not the best drama ever made. Mostly mindless entertainment, but is cute towards the second half. However, I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone.

No SML Syndrome here
The concept was refreshing and felt different than your typical K-drama. The first episodes were really cute and there were a lot of funny moments, but things start to quickly go downhill when the female lead feels torn between the two guys that like her. There wasn't enough conflict driving the narrative and so it was hard to stay invested in what happens to the characters. There really isn't much of a plot. Both the SML and SFL are unlikable and I didn't feel invested in what happened to them. In fact, I have never disliked a SML as much as I do Kang Hee Chul. His character was really one note and I found myself fast forwarding on all his scenes. I did like the main leads but their complicated humorous love story wasn't enough to keep be invested for the 16 episodes. Was this review helpful to you?
This show was a pleasant surprise!
I really thought the actors/actresses in this show were going to be vindictive, jealous, controlling, and a hateful bunch. But I really liked how all of them turned out to be really good people in the end. Those who went wayward came back and changed themselves for the better. If it turned out the other way it would have been another typical KDrama. I am so glad it caught me off guard and surprised me.I could not watch it on Viki because it is “Restricted”?. So I watched it on Dramacool.com. YouTube has it but it is cut up bad and there are missing episodes. So watch it on Dramacool.
For the acting... was great No Min Woo surprised me in this one. For 1 he is a true flower boy! So cute you cannot help fall in love with him. And 2, He did such a great job playing innocent. He was like a little kid and pulled it off surprisingly well. The female lead was really good also. She did a great job.
Rewatch? Yep I would. Maybe one I can talk the hubby into watching with me??.

My problem with this drama was that the first half was great but towards the end from episode 10 onwards it just got boring. I found myself skipping scenes just to get through it all. I really liked the premise of this drama though, and how it turns gender roles on it's head, with the male being the naive innocent and the female the career-oriented strong person. I'm not sure why but the plot seems so average to me, even with this uniqueness.
The acting was good, though I found No Min Wo to be really odd/alien-looking and I desperately felt the need to cut his fringe off. To be honest it was a bit distracting. I found Yang Jin Sung to be a great actress and this is the first time I really saw her acting.
I'd recommend this drama if you wanted something new and different, its cute, sweet and funny, just be prepared for the lacking story.
