first of all, something I've noticed ( and the main reason i don't watch J Drama's ) is that there is a big difference between the quality of their movies and drama's. i feel the video quality is so much better in Japanese movies.
anyways, Asuko March is one of those drama's where each episode has its own story. The female lead basically attempts to solve everyone else' problems, and is more or less successful. Don't get me wrong, i love Takei Emi, and she's the reason i even started this drama. But i got to admit that some scenes were way too unrealistic and even cheesy.
The cast was good, i think they might have gone out of their way to make the actors unattractive. lol This is of course not a bad thing, because i don't think its possible to look your best when you are covered with dust and grease. Plus this is not supposed to be your typical flower boy drama.
Last, but not least, be prepared for second lead syndrome to slap you hard on the face. Romance might not play the biggest role in Asuko March, but its still there.
I hope my review doesn't sound all that negative ( or does it?) but if you were wondering if you should watch it or not, i say, give it a go. i definitely was not bored with this one. Although, i won't lie that i loved it, i think its safe to say that i liked it. :)

Acting was great! I mean each character was acted in a very funny and very beautiful way that it easily makes you feel the same way as s/he does. You will absolutely not feel as an outsider while watching it.
Story was good. It wasn't that much surprising. Just a high school, maybe not that ordinary but still a high school drama in which you see friendship, violence, love and so..
Music was also great! I've never listened to FUNKY MONKEY BABYS but after hearing theme song, sung by them, you may count me as a fan!!
Overall it was a great drama but I believe it would be much better if they cut it from the ending of 6th episode till the last episodes.. I know the other events are also important in order to get the ending but I do not feel like they really needed those things~
Anyway if you want to watch not an ordinary high school drama where you may not be able to see many girls, you should watch this drama and have fun!! Or just listen Funky Monkey Babys' Soredemo Shinjiteru and feel the happiness you can get from the drama itself~ Oh I love it!!

To me, it was a bit boring and slow. I just kept hoping it would become better but, it just ended leaving me kind of emotionless.
Even if it had its pretty funny moments and Takei Emi is simply adorable, I still felt the whole situation unrealistic.
It sends a few pretty messages to the viewer but, it's just not at the same level of the other dramas aired during the same reason nor for the cast who gave plain interpretation even of the most interesting characters, nor for the script which was nothing more than clique.

Well this dorama......First, that caught my eye was the friendship between all the characters. They are really cute.
But I dont find this a romance dorama. Its more like light romance. There was only a cheek kiss throughout the whole dorama. Kinda dissopionting. I was expecting maybe a kiss at the end but that did not happen. If you are looking for a cute romance you wont find it here. It will just dissopiont you too.
I couldnt understand what was going on with the other girl in the school. It left her story hanging. And also the weird girl that stocked Aruto all the time. I didnt like her either. She was not necessary in the drama. One more thing i also didnt like Arutos personality. He kinda weak and not showing his man side. I know hes watching over his sick mother. But i just dont see him strong physically more mentally. And I dont find him brave either.
I will give this dorama 6/10. I dont see myself rewatching it.
But it was okay i guess. Just not the type of doramas i noramlly watch.

Cute high school friendship drama
Disclaimer: I used to be obsessed with this show the first time I watched it 8 years ago. I recently saw this on Netflix and decided to re-watch it. I'm reviewing this based on my feelings of nostalgia as I re-watched it.You know how there are some shows you consider to be kinda lousy and you shouldn't enjoy it but you do anyway? This is one of those shows for me. Even after 8 years, I would consider it one of my favorite dramas.
This show follows the typical J-drama pattern each episode and gives me strong anime vibes: the acting is unnatural, the romance is cringy, there are many scenes that just defy logic and there's somehow a pattern that they follow each episode. But what this show lacks in many aspects, I think it makes up for it in heart.
I guess the charm of a high school drama (especially one not focused on romance) depends on how they portray the journey of growing up and discovering oneself as the main character takes on challenges and meets new people. It's interesting to watch the behind stories of each of the ML that make you grow to love each of them. I especially love to watch how the FL earns the respect and friendship with each of the ML as the story progresses. And while she does give off the dumb schoolgirl vibe, there moments of advice she shares to her classmates which I feel I can also apply to my own life.
The quality of dramas have changed over the years, and this drama would be considered quite outdated by today's standards. That said, if you're new to J dramas or if you're looking for some lighthearted fun, this drama might surprise you. I love a good friendship story and the Asuko March squad has been one of my favorites. If it counts for anything, I really really liked the OST as well.

I really don't have high expectation to this drama, I am 27 years old, so I am just looking for something refreshing and an easy watch while working. But, this drama made me smile. This is fluffy and yet, way too dramatic, cliche, typical and cringy. But hey, I am about to finish it. I just can't help but to write a review (my first haha)
I ship Tamaki and Nao, like a lot. They really have good chemistry unlike Aruto. Gosh, Aruto's character is way tooooo boring. I don't know the actor, but I don't think he did well with all that expression. I doesn't even make sense what did Nao liked about him. He was always absent for the class, they don't have lots of interaction. But maybe, the heart wants it really wants.
Personally, I would not even look at Aruto twice if ever I see him in person.
I like the whole class though, they are fun, the teachers and especially Nao grandfather. I also like Momo chan's character, although annoying type of girl (I would've pulled her hair already) but I kinda understand why it's a bit difficult to be friends with girls sometimes. Rooting for her character to grow by the end.
I am not gonna lie, I mostly skip Aruto and Nao's scene or just Aruto's scene. I think if he's not in the drama the drama would've sailed anyway. On the other hand, I'll fininsh Season 1 hoping for more great episodes!
