This was the first Thai drama that captured me to start watching thai dramas/lakorns/series.

The best thing about this drama is the FL and the ML. They just lock you to the screen throughout. This pair is shipped more now than MK & NY.

This drama can proudly be the best ever remade dramas in Thai.

Its a complete mix of love, revenge, family, relationship and so on.

But the sweet episode could have been little more.

PSuki, PChaiyan definitely needs a special appreciation. All the support actors did great.

Well, i really like this lakorn so much
Firstly, they got a really good chemistry
And their acting is so good as you can know that actually some thai lakorn acting are not as good as korean drama right but this time they're really beyond my expectation
As for the music is pretty good that can match with the movie
And for the rewatch value i give 8.0 is because I think that I might not wanted to watch it all over again but I will just watch some part of the film because I'm someone that get bored easily but for now I have rewatched some scene for over than 3 times already ^^
That's it thankyouu<3

I like the chemistry of two main role. Their acting was really promising. Super recommended to watch this kind of drama. This drama tend me to watch more thai drama specially when the main character is Yaya and Mark. I super love the beauty of Yaya very natural in acting. Mark Prin was really handsome when angry. I think this thai drama was the best drama I've ever watch. I hope the tandem of Yaya and Mark have also a come back in the future and I will watch it for sure. The storyline is so certain and the character expressed the real emotions here.

I think what I really enjoyed in Kluen Cheewit is the portrayal of the female lead (FL) Jeerawat, played excellently by Thai actress Urassaya Sperbund. I've seen a lot of other dramas in the melo category and there are plenty of times when the FLs are weaklings. Given that a lot of horrible things happen to them and they suffer all types of unspeakable abuse, it's pretty frustrating for a viewer to watch. In the case of a weak heroine, it's akin to seeing a puppy being kicked over and over by its owner. Good thing that while this drama had loads of abuse to heap, its heroine was no puppy. Jeerawat was fierce and willing to fight anyone who treated her unfairly, no matter who she had to go up against. The thing about creating a fierce heroine is that there is this danger of over emphasizing her strength to the point that she turns out to be unlikable and abrasive...you don't need to be a b-ch to be strong. This is one of the great things about Jeerawat. The writers knew what they were doing when they made a well balanced character who was vulnerable and pitiful, yet strong and capable of defending herself. Depending on the scenario, Jeerawat showed plenty of different sides to her and I rooted for her all the way. She had good chemistry with almost all the characters and not just the male lead (ML). She lit up every scene she was in and made it a joy to watch- whether she was crying, slapping someone back or getting flustered over the ML.

I would say that pretty much all the cast members did well with their roles and that the chemistry between the main couple was believable, despite their rocky start. I wasn't sure how exactly the ML could ever love the FL, given the context of how they met...but somehow they convinced me once it was over. The last episode had some of the cutest romantic scenes in drama- it was a complete 180 degree change from all the hostility and antagonism they showed each other in the earlier episodes.

But there were several things which prevented me from giving this a higher score, despite the enjoyment I got out of watching it.

When penning a hate-to-love scenario between characters, it's hardly a good idea to rush the situation and I'm glad they did not do it here. My personal opinion is that - with this sort of thing, it works best to have the relationship develop from dislike, to tolerance, to friendship, then finally to love. And the starting point for the change in the relationship should be midway in the drama. Kluen Cheewit does this well -the island scenes in episode 7/8 are the most exciting ones and they showcase the MLs vulnerability, and the FLs empathy towards him in a perfect way. The problem is that after this turning point, something else happens in the end of episode 11 that breaks down the trust between them (all over again! -_-) where the sweet moments built up from 9-11 turns into a type of love/hate in 11-12. Granted, there is good tension between them (a lot of sexy scenes that showcase their good chemistry) in 11-12, the kind of going back and forth did not flow well, IMHO. Why not just have it so that the sweet moments in 9-11 are switched with 11-12? That way, the development from hate to love would progress more naturally.

The way it was written seemed like they were back to square one and having to start over again. Given that the drama only has a short time frame of 15 episodes made it a bit of a mess. It was only in the very LAST episode where all the misunderstandings were cleared and the ML and FL finally got together...because episodes 13-14 were wasted on secondary characters. And while it's okay to develop a romance between the supporting cast, it should never affect the one between the main couple and that's exactly what happened here. Instead of the ML and FL reconciling by episode 13 and giving us viewers (at the very least) the last three episodes to witness them actually be a couple...we are left with only one episode to witness their happiness. Granted, episode 15 is one of my favorites, the thought that we could have had so much more scenes between the main leads and instead, are force-fed with the secondary romance between annoying secondary leads, was a disappointment.

At the end, I am left with a drama that I enjoyed in parts. I loved Kluen Cheewit for its amazing female lead/character, the good acting (from all the cast members) and for the chemistry between the main couple. Would I recommend this to a fan? Sure, if they were into melodrama and didn't mind all the angst. The genre itself is a hit or miss for most people. This one is flawed, but it's one of the better ones of its kind. I just kind of wish we had more of those squee worthy moments to make up for the turmoil in the earlier episodes.

I rarely watch lakorn since i find thai accent awkward to watch(don't be mad okay, i love thailand) but since the story of this drama interests me well then i gave it a try.

The story is really interesting and it really was amazing. For me every episode excites me and make me think of how the two of them will turn hate into love. How Gee will manage to entangle the web of knots in her life because her character was too much to be pitiful like each and everyone was her protagonist.

For the actors, Urassaya is so amazing and just so amazing. Given that shes so beautiful and gorgeous, her acting is more than superb and add Mark's another superb acting, well they are perfect together. <3 It's just some of the supports are still lacking or sometimes are overacting esp Dao and Jane or Jade, the sister, they are annoying me sorry. And I really don't know but if chaiyan and piak doesnt exist then probably Gee's misery may be cut in halves lol Yeah given that they are to support the leads but i hate how both of their character are supporting the leads. It's so much to annoy me.

The soundtrack, maybe because it was always played, i happen to absentmindedly sing it, I even look for it on spotify tho its not beautiful for me, it just gives me the feels.

Some debts for me are, the Gee and Thit had more scenes hating each other than you know, romantic scenes. Piak's character is so so. The editing esp of action scenes are somehow disappointing. The part before ending shouldnt exist lol you know, that chaiyan and Gee (spoiler ooppps). Well everything is forgivable since it was really great.

Overall I would highly recommend this drama!!! Just watch it and be part of the can't get over club!

This lakorn was so amazing. So many scenes to watch over and over again. The chemistry between the actors is really admirable

I love the way mark prin brings his role into an indenial man with his true feelings.

My favorite scene was when thit enters the condo of jew unannounce. The scene was very powerful and lovely . The way they show their concern for one another is like real.

My other favorite scene was when jew goes to thit. In which they make love out of some sort of business deal.

The crying scene was when thit realizes all of his wronhdoings. And he has to atone for his mistakes but it was too late.. heheh

Thumbs up for this lakorn. Amazing

Iconic Lakorn for GOOD Reason

Before anything I just want to say I really liked this lakorn and get why it’s so popular even till today 5 years later!

-I love Yaya! She is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful and she acts amazing! One of the best nang’eks for sure! She has a very bubbly and bright personality, but she gave justice and nailed the very complicated role of Jee. She conveys emotions (ESPECIALLY HER EYES) so well and she cries so prettily too! Jee was a female lead that was done well because she was both cold and strong, but we got to see her vulnerabilities and true self. Her character was very human and what I mean by that is she’s not like some female leads that are just ice cold and toxic and other female leads that cry every 5 seconds. Her character was strong and had balance and was overall well done. (Side note: the way Jee didn’t immediately give in to Sathit in the end was nice. It was very consistent with her character.)

-Mark Prin is just so freaking handsome and he always does so well in the hate to love roles. His acting was very on point and his micro-expressions are always great. Sathit was also a very well done character like Jee. His character had balance in where he does good and is sincere, but is sometimes overtaken by anger and resentment. His character was also very human and compared to other hate to love male leads wasn’t overly toxic.

-Mark and Yaya had such great chemistry! I love them as a koojin! Though the kisses were angle kisses they still had great chemistry together.

-Both characters were very consistent and not changing up every 2 seconds which is very much appreciated.

-Honestly props to Mark and Yaya because the plot of Waves of Life can sometimes be too overdone or can get boring, but they totally nailed their roles and a huge part of why Waves of Life became such a success that it is. It truly has become an iconic lakorn to watch!

-I love enemies to lovers dramas but sometimes they can be very repetitive and get boring at times, but this was soooo good and I really enjoyed watching it.

-I loved P’Suki and Dao for always being there for Jee and never turning their back on her. Especially Dao even though the man she loves is crushing on Jee so hard (some friends would turn their back on their friends just for this) and chose to go away so Jee can find happiness with Jade. Also, P’Chaiyan (though him and Piak’s situation got very annoying and was so frustrating) was always there for Jee despite what other people said. Also props to Jane for still being kind in the end and letting go of Sathit and not turning into someone who would get in the way of Jee and Sathit.

-I swear Piak frustrated me to no end!! Jade too when he kept hurting and leading Dao on then shoving it in her face how much he liked Jee. But in the end they finally ended up with their respective partners.

-I love how all the antagonists got what they deserved in the end.

-I found that the flow and pacing of the story was very good, nothing was too rushed and the character development was on point. We got to unravel the characters of Jee and Sathit slowly but surely in this drama. The relationship between them also developed very naturally because of what they went through together. It wasn’t too rushed where they fell in love with each other too quickly, but it was definitely a slow burn that was just right. They also didn’t go back and forth from hate to love every 5 minutes. There was definitely some back and forth, but it was justified with the circumstances and events.

-I swear it took me so long to get through episode 15 because I was so giddy the whole time and I kept replaying scenes over and over again!!

Overall, this was a really good drama and it’s definitely worth the hype! Also, probably my favorite drama of Mark and Yaya that I have watched! Can’t wait for another MarkYaya drama in the future!

P.S I loved the ending scenes! The beach scene (I wish Jee and Sathit admitted when they first realized they loved each other) and the baby shower scene was a nice touch!

A good lakorn to watch

This Lakorn is one of the most well produced I have seen. From the quality of the actors to the various places it is shot and the actions scenes... everything looked good. The story was unbalanced anyway and there are some very good arcs of narration and some a bit draggy.

THE STORY:

The story is divided in different arcs or periods.

- The first period is the early episodes when they meet and the tragic events happens. I thought it was well introduced. Anyway there are two events that looked quite illogical for me and I had to really force myself into accepting them and keep up with the drama. The two main leads take decision that I totally found were unacceptable. (Jee decides to lie at the funeral about her own action and Thit basically tries to kill her)

- The second period when Jee is harassed by plenty or crazy women who don't like her for no proper reason and she has to deal with Thit hating her. The part was emotional and fun. I liked how she managed to stay herself and the strongest possible despite the adversity.

- Third period when they meet on the Island to the demise of her step father. I was quite surprised by the turn of events here. Because suddenly they are elsewhere and the character development took a new direction and a fast pace. I really enjoyed that part for the good action and the fact that they managed to appease the tension between them and get close to each other.

- Fourth period until she leaves him and disappear. I fought that part was very draggy and redundant. I felt like the writer purposely made this part a torture session of Thit. It lasted too long even if Thit deserved it.

- Last period and ending. I liked it how they took the time far on a deserted place to find each other the feelings they started to have for each other and built a trust from all the wrong of their past together. It was cute and they looked adorable to me.

THE CAST / CHARACTER:

- Thit: Overall I liked him but there was really high and lows. I liked him hating Jee. Even if sometimes he was really too mean but you can feel he could not accept the death of his gf. He could not do like others and forgive and move on. He was trying to kill his own pain by making her feel pain but he was a bit extreme from trying to kill her to saving her from death. I hated him when they got close together because of events, he still decided to induce her in a shameful bargain which fully hurt Jee and he still could not act better afterwards. He could not sort the garbage in his own head and behave decently to her. In the end, he finally matured and showed his sincerity and his good side. The actor was good as he was very despicable in his hate, very emotional sometimes and charming towards the end.

- Jee: I really liked her as a girl from the slums and a poor and difficult past who becomes a TV star actress but still has to fight as plenty of people want to hurt her. She endured many sacrifices along the way to the point she had to quit and loose her status and she can finally find and accept a world with the love and affection she craved for. She has a nice character development from the beginning to the end being strong, friendly, courageous, weak, daring and fighting... Amazing work from the actress. The only thing I did not liked about her was her relationship with her friend Chaiyan the director she is not the main responsible here.

- Chaiyan: One of the two morons I hated most in this drama. I did not really care about his crazy wife who became crazy because of him for sure. But he did not know it. He wanted her to change to be better when he changed to be the worst. He kept sticking at Jee with his lustful sight on her and seizing every opportunity to be touchy with her. True she also did not told him to stop and sometimes played this game with him. I can believe why the wife became crazy of jealousy and Thit misunderstood Jee. In the end, he knew everything and still hid them Thit and toyed with him, his so called "brother". I did not cared if he reconciled with his wife or not because I just hated him and her.

- Suki: Second moron I hated in the drama. Basically, all the shit happened because of him. He arrived on the site of the accident and just took the worst decision and lead everyone into a maelstrom of misery. Aside from his grotesque gay manners and tone, I hated the fact that he was a despicable two faced weasel who worked with Jee's mother to control her and harm her and he cries and makes Jee's have pity of him after he caused a mistake. He deserved to be locked in a wood chest and dumped into the deep sea.

- Piak: a complete lunatic psycho and possessive. The character was a pain to watch and one cannot even believe how she became "normal" again

- Dao: I liked her very much. A real and caring and understanding friend for Jee. I liked her honest nature and her gentle demeanor. This girl is the cream of the crop. The actress was very convincing for me.

- Jate: Hated him. He hid his game for a long time behind his smiling face. I thought he looked hypocrite. I could not believe he changed so fast from Jee to Dao. I did not feel he was really a sincere man. He did helped Jee a lot though.

- Jane: I was shocked to see the actress in this drama as I just watched her as the FL in Khun Mae Suam Roy. I though the character was nice, fun, cheerful, hardworking, courageous, smart and dilligent. The voice of the actress was hard to stand sometimes but she did a good job.

- Pim and her manager: I just wanted to take the head of one and burst the head of the other with it.

- Sitta and Jiraya: pretty decent vilains. Jiraya turned to help after she hurt her own daughter. Does it need that to become a better mother? Also Jiraya had the medical proof that Jee was drugged when she was led to drive. All she had to do was to go to the police with this proof and say not sure who drugged Jee and her daughter would have been saved from hard sentence. But she was too bad of a mother to act properly.

- Pattana, Aree and Tiew's mother were nice and good characters.

MUSIC:
I liked the music. I thought some songs thai and english were nice with lyrics very adapted to the story

REWATCH:
Too long and to painful to rewatch for me but I well remember some good scenes

OVERALL : It is a popular lakorn and I think it is well deserved. The story and the two main leads are providing lots of emotions and some other good characters are enjoyable also.

incredible payoff with lots of ANGST, had great writing yet an underwhelming resolution

tropes: #slowburn #enemiestolovers #revengeromance #ANGST #impossiblelove #misunderstanding

this was definitely the best Thai lakorn i have ever seen -- admittedly, i haven't seen that many. it seemed to be less dramatic (although there was still a lot of drama, of course) compared to the usual lakorn. i would even say it was much more realistic at times. however, the episodes are entirely way too long and full of filler. that is why i mostly skipped everything other than the main couple's scenes. and that's mostly why i gave this an 8/10. if it was shorter with a higher budget and a better resolution of the conflict at the end, the score might've been much higher.

i love the revenge/romance genre but this plot was something else. as someone who enjoys the slow burn, impossible love, enemies-to-lovers, angst, etc. tropes, this was giving all of that and more. i also wanna add that this is the kind of drama I'm looking for when i say enemies-to-lovers, you know. it doesn't get any better than this.

this was incredibly angsty. when i read the synopsis, i knew that it would be a slow burn but those first 5-6 episodes almost killed me lol. i was just like, how is this gonna work.. no matter the circumstances, which did matter but you know, she did cause his fiancee to die. and the hatred portrayed was so raw that i was just like, how are they gonna turn this around? break the ice? how could he ever love her? but it was actually so well done. it was slow but the payoff was so worth it. my favorite scenes were the ones where they both acted with so much affection to each other without admitting to their feelings. i also loved that they didn't undermine Sathit's relationship with Tiw just to make it easier for the main couple to be developed. no, they really showed us that he was deeply in love with his fiancee that died and that's why the main couple's chemistry was so good and full of angst.

it was just very realistic and the relationship of the main couple developed very organically. on that note, i loved the writing of their dialogues. it was very strong and fulfilling. both main leads did an amazing job with their performances but especially the female lead. i think she just might be my favorite female character in all Thai dramas i've seen so far. she was just so strong and had a lot of self-respect. she never let herself be disrespected and humiliated. she always knew what to say in response to insults. she was just way too iconic. these are all the characteristics that are often missing from the main female lead characters in Thai dramas. written by a woman? yes ma'am.

the issue of consent in Thai lakorns isn't something new but seeing them acknowledge an act that happened nonconsensually between the main couple at the end showed me that the issue isn't that there is a lack of understanding around consent (culturally and among lakorn writers) but it's actually that there is a lack of respect for it. to be frank, they just don't care is what it is. i would love to say this has gotten better in the newer lakorns but that does not seem to be the case (cough cough Nabi, My Stepdarling).

finally, i didn't like the last two episodes very much. i thought the resolution was underwhelming and they dragged the drama between the main couple for way too long. they literally only gave us like 30-minutes of cute scenes of them as a couple when we needed a few episodes at least because they were just too cute! anyways, i loved this so much.

Let me start off by saying this is the first time watching a thai lakorn drama from beginning to end and boy was it a roller coaster!! It's like a makjang on steroids!!

Story - The story had some of the cliches things that you see in chinese/kdramas. Unrequited love - exception being when they realize that their feelings were not reciprocated they backed off. Psycho parent.

Acting/Cast

Jee - did her thing. I love the fact that was she a strong female but ...at the same time I thought that sometimes she was too damn nice..like sis...you can't take the blame for stuff that you did not do.

Sathit - I could not stand his ass! He was so blinded by revenge that he didn't see that he the hurt and pain that he was causing someone that was innocent. Him and his psycho "sister"!! He thought he was holier than though..I still don't like his dusty ass..but umm..I guess you love who you love..so my heart was unfrozen (slightly) lol. I wanted Jee to find someone better but ehhh..again you love who you love.

Suku - I absolutely loved suku! He was ride or die for Jee and I loved that about him.

Best character growth award goes to Jee's mom. I am sure you are wondering why?! It's because it did not take her 15 damn episodes to realize that even though she did the thing she did out of love her daughter that is not how she saw it..side eyeing Sathit!!(still don't like you lol)

The other casts did a great job. Stepdad - made my skin crawl so that means the actor did the job he was assigned to do well. lol I didn't like that Dao made herself a sacrificial lamb! I won't go into detail and will let you find out for yourselves.

I tend to believe that dramas have some teachable moments and takeaways. So..here goes...

1. Be careful what you wish for because once you get it you may realize that it is not what you want.
2. FInd out all the facts before you go off the handle as karma likes to bite people in the behind
3. If there is no trust in a relationship it is doomed to fail. If you keep accusing your significant other of cheating eventually you are going to push him away and find yourself single and lonely.
4. Stay away from creepy stepdads ! lol
5. Have Tylenol and tissue on deck because changes are you will need it.

Overall...I enjoyed the drama. I did skip some parts because I was annoyed with some of the characters and did not want to see them not because the drama was bad. It is actually a good drama.

Rewatch - I will rewatch dramas that I love in a heartbeat however...I will not re-watch a makjang on steriods..nope not going to do. If you are on the fence about watching it, I would recommend giving it the try. The female lead is actually very strong and not dumb which is my favorite kind of female lead.

Everything is excellent

This drama is really amazing. It is full of emotions like hate to love, revenge, guilt and many more. Acting is fantastic. mark and Yaya convey their emotions easily. I want to thank them for doing this wonderful drama. No one can replace them❤❤
This is my fifth Thai drama. I have never seen a drama like this before. I like this message in this drama "Goodness exists so love. True Love comes from the actions of your goodness." It is really amazing. Everyone should know this. I hope this review is helpful for all viewers. everyone must watch it. I just saw all 15 episodes in just two days. You will be addicted to it. It will be heart touching❤❤. Especially the ending when Mark proposes Yaya to marry. It was really sensitive. A very good ending.
The main reason for more rewatch value is their acting, dialogues, and direction.
You can say the story is common and a kind of melodrama but it succeeded bcoz of unexpected twists and some unique type of direction. Thanks to P'Aew.
I bet you will feel all their emotions along with them. You cry, laugh, and love them with all your heart.
Believe it or not, i still have all 15 episodes on my phone and I never thought of deleting them. I want to keep them for my whole life so that they will be in my heart forever.
☜☆☞One important thing I ask you to be patient at the beginning bcoz it will be full of anger, hate, and vengeance. So many quit for 4 to 5 episodes. Please don't do that and watch until the end. Otherwise, I think you will lose some of the best feelings in your life.
And another thing ost and music gave life to the drama.Thank you everyone of this KLEUN CHEEWIT group for this excellent drama. Lots of love from INDIA to Thailand. I can't wait to see these actors of Thai.

EDIT: Editing this after 4 years of watching. It was in my head for almost a year and watched many dramas to get over this but I end up rewatching it. My eyes would be swollen from crying as if it is my life lol. I go so deep into their feelings. For so long I couldn't understand why they would part ways even though they love each other but slowly I was mature enough to understand the relationship. As the audience, we know everything that is happening but watching it from the individual point of view of leads all those issues between them made sense. Even though they love each other the other person wasn't aware of that love. This made them break up many times. I have watched about 40 dramas still this remains best for me. Maybe the time I watched also has an impact. I always wonder if this wasn't one of my earliest dramas, would I love this in the same way? One thing is sure I would definitely love it but not sure if I would be obsessed with it for that long.
