Light Hearted, Comedy drama with a simple storyline
It's a simple hate turns into love story, pretty much predictable but has a lot of comedy and shows how popularity is not always good. I watched it for Chanyeol but liked the movie overall. Chanyeol's acting was great, he portrayed all the required emotions nicely. Many people are commenting about the actress' acting but it was also good. She was annoying in the beginning but had a good character growth later on. Also her chemistry with Chanyeol was nice. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to watch a light hearted movie with humour and without any complexity. Was this review helpful to you?

Fun Fluffy Watch
So I Married an Anti-fanChinese Movie
2016
Amazon Prime & Viki
A kpop star and his anti fan both get stuck filming a show tilted So Married an Anti Fan.
If you want a fluffy over the top rom com I would recommend this movie. This one was originally a webtoon and later turned into this movie and currently a Korean drama. Yes I'm watching it and it's a popcorn show! Review coming when it ends this month, it's currently airing.
Now while watching the movie I noticed the male leads singing voice sounded familiar. Well Chanyeol is a singer and part of a Korean pop and Chinese pop group called EXO. They just realsesd their comeback album today and it'sso good!
He also sings some of my favorite songs. I have all three on replay while driving, cleaning, walking you name it!
♡Yours by Chanyeol & Raiden
(Remix is great too)
♡Stay With Me by Chanyeol & Punch
♡Don't Fight The Feeling by EXO
(Came out today, last slide is part of the MV)

I did not like the female lead at all just because of the character's personality, but her acting was actually quite good. Chanyeol did better than he did in Exo next door so it's good to see some improvement. It's always nice to see him doing something on his own, I'm tempted to watch Missing 9 to see if he's improved.
I liked how vivid the colours in the movie were.
The OST is not too bad too, I guess.

Good story but failed to deliver its max potential
The overall feel of this story is really good. It has a strong start ..cast is also good .. there were interesting mini plots to keep the momentum of the plot ( bondage prank, riding to his interview scene , etc ) but still for various reasons even 1 hour 39 min felt too long ...1) mini plots weren't arranged properly. For example you watch a scene, you think okay there is a development in their relationship but in the next scene she is literally beaten by his fans and he doesn't care. Then again after few minutes similar thing happens .. I was so confused like is this how feeling work ???
2) though it's not related to story ..but the subtitles suck ... This was actually the main reason why I could not enjoy it to the fullest.
3) fatigue : so many cliches and repeat jokes ... In the end no matter how good the sketch is ..if the painting it not colour enough you won't like it.
That's all. No hate to the movie but it just didn't work for me ..may be If i watch it again after sometime.. I might like it ..

Not an outstanding movie, but quite entertaining (^_^)
I love the idea of idol working with his anti-fan. The growth of their feeling and relationship is not clearly visible, but understandable. Too bad that the title and the story not in line. At first I thought that they will be married first and story goes on, but it turns out that there's no marriage (^_^;)
But despite of that, this movie provide a lot of laugh too, for example is the incident with the handcuff (^o^) That scene is really mind catching (^o^)

The female lead character is a bit annoying at times, but once the two leads start to actually talk to each other, they are just fun to watch. Personally, I thought Park Chan Yeol did a great job in the male lead role. He's a bit stiff at times, but the character is supposed to be that way, so it fit. Besides Mabel Yuan's character as the female lead is a bit of a "bounce off the walls" type character, so they sort of balance each other out.
The music in this show really didn't phase me one way or another, so in my book that means it fit well, but it didn't have a song that stuck in my head or really moved me.
If you are looking for an easy watch that is just fun and refreshing...this might indeed be just the right choice.

For those people who like a fresh and new story concepts, I'm sad to say you won't find that here. But! I personally think the way the actors interacted was pretty sweet and in a way "fresh". Then again, I am absolutely a fan of the cliché "Cinderella" stories and love/hate relationships. I don't know why, but for me, you can either make the cliché story your own or you can majorly fail.
I personally think that these two made it loveable and absolutely adorable! (The handcuff bit made me laugh so hard!)
All in all, I liked the movie for what it was: Light-hearted.
It's a great movie for anyone who has a little time before bed on a weekday night to unwind, have a couple of laughs at the cute and cliché couple and go to bed with a fluffy feeling inside.
I personally have a saying with food that I love to apply to movies as well: Don't knock it 'till you try it; loose the expectations, and experience it as it unfolds.

And I loved it, it was exactly what I wanted. Cheesy and sweet, and while cliche, my love for Chanyeol overshadowed all the flaws in the drama, such as underdeveloped character and plot, but I didn't mind having to watch it in 1.5 hours because I find that most dramas run along the same lines and drag it out for too long. Sure, the characters become more developed but other than the addition fo plot details, the ending most of the time would still be somewhat as predictable. I wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary with this movie---I just wanted to see my bias for an extended period of time.
I loved Yuan Shan Shan and the character she played. The kind of girl to be able to crack open the stiff, tsundere male lead who reacts violently at first but opens up. She was an energetic and funny character and I enjoyed the two immensely. My only concern is that the romance at the end was rushed and I would have liked it more if it was extended to 2 hours. Mentioning this throughout already, Chanyeol is my bias so of course, I'd be naturally drooling over him in this movie. The strenuous life of his portrayed in the movie must have been similar to his own idol life, so the role must have been easy for him to act out. Nevertheless, I'd love to see Chanyeol in more acting roles so that we can see his full potential bloom.
I'm also very happy about the OST he sang because of the lack of vocals he gets in EXO, being the main rapper. I'd rewatch this on a rainy day in the mood, or perhaps with an EXO-L friend to fangirl/boy over it together! But in the meantime, I've still got Choco Bank featuring Kai to check out.
I would recommend if you're a fan of something lighthearted and cheesy, and a fan of Chanyeol ;)

The plot was nothing special but it was something many would probably have imagined through fan fic and maybe dabbed at it either through reading or writing. A famous, illustrious idol actor hits the spades with his anti-fan. Throughout the course of a few movie minutes audiences are awarded a walk down memory lane with a Full House esque theme minus Rain and Song Hye-kyo. Antagonists become lovey dovey and spades turn into hearts. Very touching yet very predictable. Points for the originality of the idea, nil. Points for reinventing and modernizing the idea 10 out of 7. To make it a 10, the blend would actually have to be fluid with less over the top annoying I’ve seen better than this moments before in another movie/drama. The movie is in fact based on a manhwa of the same name.
The performances were okay. Maybe I’m biased as I can’t stop comparing Chan Yeol’s character to Chan Yeol in EXO next door. They seem the same which is not the ideal thing as this would mean he has a long long long way to go as actor. Branching into a male lead role might have been fine if he was an experienced thespian. As he’s not he might benefit from developing his craft by undertaking smaller roles and gaining acting experience before venturing into a production he might have gotten an offer to for being an EXO member and the group’s popularity in China. Yuan Shan Shan’s performance was equally bland however I found it to be slightly better than Chan Yeol. She is an experienced actress compared to him but her performance was for the most part utterly annoying and loud. The rebel I hate you act is good when it’s properly done and that means subtly done at times otherwise it’s too much and at times it felt too much. Saying this I liked it more than I did Full House and that’s saying a lot.
The soundtrack, I didn’t pay attention to it apart from the Tango. I liked that scene with the piano. It was filmed beautifully. Apart from that every song was forgotten. Chan Yeol and Shan Shan did sing a song for the movie called ‘I Hate You’ however meh.
The re-watch value is 50/50. It depends on the day, it depends on the mood. I liked the movie. I had fun watching it and I’d recommend it, that’s all and EXO are really talented entertainers and they dance, wow how they dance!
