I want more!!!
I was really apprehensive in watching this very popular drama. I thought it was overhyped, over rated but then will be just a disappointment. But, damn! I was glad I gave it a try! All the ratings, hyped, and talks about this series are all worth it! It was sooo good! From the first episode until the last episode. It's like you're on a roller coaster ride, you'll feel all kinds of emotion from watching this series. You'll laugh, giggle, elated, frustrated, get excited, angry, sad, wanted to kill everybody or a particular person, nervous, and keep you off the edge.
I thought those numbers of episodes would be tedious and boring to watch, but I was wrong! I wanted more of Ye Hua and Qian-quian's love story; their interactions, sweetness and just watching them together in one scene is just satisfying to see. As they deserved to have a happy ending. Also, I love love AhLi! I love that child!
The villains are all convincing with their roles, you can't wait for them to suffer and just wanted them gone forever.
Over all, will definitely watch this all over again. I will miss them all! So if you haven't watched it, better start now. ❤️

I liked a majority of things in this drama, the plot was amazing, albeit a little confusing in the beginning(cause I skipped parts hehe heh he, I know it's a bad habit but it's just a usual thing for me). Eternal Love just has a way of making everything feel so magical and emotional. I don't know very many dramas that can make the whole peach blossom and everlasting love theme a natural thing. Some dramas just over-enforce those two things. The plot flowed quite smoothly(after I stopped skipping parts of course). ^.^
Another thing I loved about this drama was that not only did it include the two main character's love stories, it also included the side character's love stories. Everything that the characters experienced and felt just struck me right in the heart. I could physically feel their pain and I cried along with the characters. Needless to say, I turned to mush and I also used up a lot of tissues.
The clothing, setting, and music was also super great and really fit the theme. Especially the music. Even after finishing and rewatching the drama so many times, I never get tired of listening to the music/songs in the drama.
Also, even after months of finishing this drama, I still thought about it. It really did have that big of an impact because the characters and plot were so beautifully acted out.
That end's my review of Eternal Love. It's amazing, well thought out, and beautiful. Definite 10/10 overall.

Mark Chao has gotten a fan for life. A couple of friends didn't like some aspects of the drama but i thought it was beautifully done. The range of emotions that Mark Chao invoked in me woah!
Yang Mi... I already had a girl crush on her since Legend of Fuyao. In fact i was even thinking i wouldn't connect with them as a couple because of it. But one look at Si Yin/Su Su/ Bai Qian and i forgot all about that drama. In fact i could have believed there were 3 different actresses.
As someone who is new to the Chinese drama scene (i only have a few dramas under my belt) this is one of the best dramas I've ever watched in any country.
The music was beautiful, costumes, cinematography...
i would definitely rewatch this and i recommend this for anyone. You won't regret it.

The characters just didn't work for me
This drama is alright, and I sped through lots of it because it got kind of boring. I extremely hated how the imbalance of power was represented, as the QinQiu people seem to be so highly respected that they can ravage heaven whenever they want with no consequence (like when Bai Fengjiu stole the soul-searching lamp).I love diliraba but I hated the Bai Fengjiu storyline with all my soul. The female character was so weak and immature that even though the ending of her storyline with the emporer was alright, everything else just set it off for me.
I also didn't like how miracles would happen and then characters would brush it off like nothing. God Zhi Yan seemed to be the overall healer and voice of reason, but not many recognized him as that, but instead the owner of the peach blossom forest and very powerful, detached immortal.
The SuSu story was so frustrating to me because of how weak Su Su was and how little YeHua did despite saying he "loved" her. The number of plot holes and how slowly the storyline was going, especially since I knew where it was headed, was increasingly agitating.
The only part about the character's acting I liked was the relationship between Si Yin, 9th disciple, and all the other disciples.
I felt like the relationship between Mo Yuan/Ye hua/Bai Qian was left too open. I also felt no chemistry between the two main actors so it was really awkward when I was trying to watch romantic or serious scenes. Lastly, I feel like Yang Mi and Mark Chao didn't protray their characters with enough dynamic and emotion to move the audience.

Yang mi is so impressive. She did good job both as a mischievous ,young Si Yin and badass Bai Qian.
Well, being quite pitiful as the mortal Su Su , the moment of taking out the eyes from Su Jin is the best moment of the series.
I cried a lot throughout the series, especially in those emotional scenes. The ost made me even sadder.
All the characters are adorable and they all did a pretty good job. Thanks Lam Yuk Fan and the production team for producing such a master piece

Not a love story
This contains some of my thoughts as I was watching and not a full review. I apologize if anyone thinks or feels I am being hard on this story. Imo it deserves it. If I rate this series only based on the story it would be a zero but I have given it a better rating than zero. The casting, acting, production, sets, cinematography, music, etc are all excellent and very high television quality. Yang Mi is an amazing actress and among my favorites. The entire cast gave great performances.

After the first 16 episode I only really care about Si Yin/Bai Qian(1 character) The story is not very interesting but not terrible either.
By the time I reached episode 21 I find it very difficult to accept many things in this story. There is still only 1 character that I care anything at all about which is Si Yin/Su Su/Bai Qian and she is being treated like trash. Ye Hua should have found a way to communicate important information to her especially about people she will encounter like Su Jin. This story is on my last nerve. Yes, it has some interesting or good moments but that is being heavily negated by flaws and irritations.
Events in episode 22 especially with Su Jin are close to making me drop this series.
Ye hua loves Su Su? Totally unbelievable. Ye Hua let and caused terrible things to happen to Su Su. He needed to be honest and tutoring her from the moment he decided to be with her. If not at that time still found a way to teach her in the palace personally or through another. OR just taken the thrown. OR in a way I have not considered. He is highly educated AND grew up in the palace. He loves her? Than why has he not done everything possible? Bullshit. How does this series hold the rating it does?
Bai Qian encountered Ye Hua but has no memory. If she had her memory he would have no chance. She didnt jump to her death and remove her own memory purposely because they had a good time. The child may be hers but that is all. Ye Hua failed Su Su horribly and caused her severe harm. No amount of remorse or anything he does will ever make up for that. He should have stopped pursuing her especially with her having no memory. He is placing her in harms way again. Is what he had or has now love? Definitely no. It had some of the appearance of love early on but nothing real. He is actually the villain of Bai Qian's life. This should not be a series with a happy ending for their relationship regardless of his feelings or how the child makes her react. Also... Su Jin is still in an influential position at this point in the series.
Ep 33 How is Su Jin still not sealed somewhere or dead? How can the emperor not see through her deception? At least Ye Hua shows intelligence briefly when he sees she is lying. Still he does nothing about it except talk.
Ep34 Bai Qian is in position to be seriously harmed again although doesnt happen this episode. Both Su Jin and Xuan Nu are taking action against her.
I completed ep 34. I am suspending my watch & seriously considering dropping. Imo, the story is revolting and has little to do with love. Bai Qian with her reputation of extreme kindness, her protection of Mo Yuan's body, and actions of her family are among the only things that show any signs of love. Eternal love? Yeah sure... It barely includes love. Ye Hua may have "feelings" but not love. Also, Bai Qian seems to have become a somewhat weak character after she returned. She went through a life trial and came back ascended but a little naive and weak? Not accepting it.
The thing I feel most about the story in this series through episode 34 is disgust and irritation. So, it has been presented coherently enough to successfully provoke an emotional response but in a very negative way. The plot has holes, the story is annoying, & the main male lead character is actually one of the main villains up to this point. What else is there to say? The world itself was interesting but not the story and characters.
I didnt write this to antagonize anyone that thinks this is a good series. I apologize again. I just needed to give my perspective on this somewhere.

I'm writing this review based on only the first 43 episodes before I gave up the series.
The primary reason I gave up at episode 43 has to be the unbalanced main character pairs.
In ROCH, Xiao Long Nu was someone every pervert wanted to sleep with. In 3L3W, only the crazies Yehua and Li Jing pine after Bai Qian. BQ is this really old 140000 aunty that everyone mocks behind her back for being old... OK, that is A-grade writing talent right there.
Anyways, this is what I actually saw when I viewed those episodes thru ROCH vision:
Bai Qian = Xiao Long Nu.
Ye Hua = Yang Guo
Mo Yan = Yang Kang (YG is the splitting image of YK in ROCH)
When Su Su made the jump in Heaven = 16 years separation between YG and XLN
Jade Purity Fan of Kunlun Mountain = Mongolian Prince's fan weapon (3L3W has a fan weapon b/c ROCH has it)
Li Jing = the rapist in ROCH (the only other char infatuated with XLN)
Su Jin = mix of Huang Rong (cunning) and Guo Fu (spoiled)
Xuan Nu = Li Mochou (her man never showed much interest in her, causes all the aggravations and terrible things she does; there is a segment in ROCH where LMC goes around with an abducted baby, in 3L3W she strolls around with her sick child)
Heavenly Lord (current) = dumb Guo Jing (he always makes terrible decisions and needed Dijun to bail him out of difficult [mental] situations)
Dijun + Feng Jiu = White haired Yang Guo + Guo Xiang (they're not fated to be together, but an arc is created in the mortal realm for the pair as an extra add-on to ROCH)
When BQ fell from the peach tree and YH caught her = Yang Guo chance encounters XLN in the woods of Passionless Valley
Meeting of BQ and YH in sea kingdom = variant of meeting in Passionless Valley where XLN claims (pretended) she didn't know Yang Guo, and Gongsun Loue eyeing the pair with envy
Yao Guang + Mo Yuan duel in episode 01 = Lin Chaoying (mischievous version) and Wang Chongyang (apathetic version) with slight difference LCY did not threaten to commit suicide if she lost, and WCY actually told her to move away upon her defeat.

My biggest qualms are two very superficial things: Firstly, I honestly don't like how Mark Chao looks... I know that is a ridiculous thing to say but there is something about his face that makes him unattractive to me. Just compare him to the visuals of Yang Yang or many other Chinese actors - it may be his hair but something just makes his nose and visuals very distracting for me (this is coming from a straight male). This obviously has nothing to do with the plot or characters so this doesn't effect my score and in my opinion he is a pretty good actor, but like I said, this is one of my biggest qualms with the drama. Secondly, I think there are too many random characters that appear and disappear to force the plot line forward which makes the pacing a little slow at times and a little too fast at times. However, this is typical of many Chinese costume dramas so it can be forgiven.
Overall, let me put this simply: if you have watched one Chinese costume drama than you have probably watched them all. Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms/Eternal Love does everything extremely well. It has the visuals, the art, the character tropes, the music and the feelings that most other costume dramas have. It's not groundbreaking, but it's definitely a good drama to watch when you have a lot of time.
