I thought I was ready.I was NOT.I have heard about this show for so long and I've been wanting to check it out purely to see what's all the fuss is all about. I did not expect the first episode alone to have this strong pf a hook. I'm hooked.

Never would have expected the first episode of a series to be such a tearjerker especially since there was almost no time to connect with the characters yet. The fact that they managed to integrate action, fantasy and comedy so well into one episode was really something to appreciate. Love the backstory, however, the only thing that could be improved on is giving a better explanation as to the origin of goblin, ghosts and grim reapers as that was a little vague.

I have been postponing watching this for a long time as I wanted to watch it with my husband. I was very much disappointed by the first episode already. My husband fell asleep and I gave up watching it after 30 minutesin the second episode. I have only liked the acting, the soundtrack and the cynematography, but I was not convinced by the story. I have liked similar dramas like My Love from the Star, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, My Roommate is a Gumiho etc. but they were entertaining and kept me interested. I expected more from it taking into account the high reviews. It was on my list of Must-See KDramas.

I never cried in the first episode even when it got some emotional factors. usually, I need to make connections to the lead role to feel the pain. But this is the first time I cried for the very first episode. It feels like a watch a movie.I can feel all kinds of emotions. opening war shows how quickly death can happen. when general got killed. I can feel the betrayal. when reaper showed I can feel the new fantasy world I entering into. while goblin saves the pregnant women's child. i can feel pity and warmness. when the child meets reaper it was really emotional. I really felt like thank god that grandma saved her.the girl that After that child grows up.I don't know what makes me think like this but I find that bride kind of cute.When she making a wish first time after her 9th birthday. it's so touching."Why does it's rain when I don't have an umbrella"camera angle and dialogue are very meaningful to the story. which makes me get involved in the story.

So far this drama seems pretty interesting. The one thing that made me rate the episode the way I did was that this first episode was veryyy confusing. I'm sure it's just because everything was being introduced and things will be explained as the story progresses. Or I'm just slow ^^; Apart from that, the visuals are really nice and the soundtrack is great. I also like the female lead so far, her personality is enjoyable. I haven't seen a drama like this before, so I'm curious how the story will pan out.Note: I'm still agonizing over that kid from the boat. Like he was just drowning or something and goblin dude was taking his time wreaking havoc instead of saving him. Couldn't be bothered

The first episode was so long and boring, it took me 3 days to get through it because I fell asleep mid-episode. I'm going to keep going since everyone else is vouching for this series and that it's terribly good. Hopefully it doesn't keep dragging like the first episode did.

Love it, it starts beautifully and got me 100% invested. Interesting characters and setting, I love the world they created

OMG, there was sooo much epicness in the first episode, I amscared they can't make the whole drama epic as that :X
There was an awesome OST, an awesome cinematography, awesome acting from the characters, awesome lines, awesome moments - sad and funny, and interesting - just awesome story, can't wait to watch MOOOOORE ASAP, but in the same time, if it is so awesome in the end, I am afraid I can't survive when it's over (and I am scared of a sad ending :X can't take it after "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo")
I already love it, just watch it, give it a chance, I hope you'll like it too :)))

Liked from the start, what a great start for a drama, it felt like a movie rether then a drama the first episode. The writer is one of my favoritt and the PD so, i think it is gonna be a wonderful drama.

The cinematography is stunning. This is hands down the most beautiful drama yet this year! Which is quite a feat as some of the most beautiful dramas have been coming out this year. Sure some unique camera shots are barrowed, such as Kim Shin being seen through the eyes of the man he had just beheaded. (Sleepy Hollow anyone?)
Some how it escaped my attention that Kim Go Eun would be a main character! What a follow up to Cheese in the Trap. So far I really like her in this role! She's so cute and I love her energy.
Of course the boys, Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook, are amazing. Just the small time they have together really sparks their chemistry. All the sneak peaks at them together from the trailers have been promising and hinting. It's gonna be amazing. >_<
That said this episode was basically an information dump. There's a lot of ground to cover and the writer just wanted to get it out of the way. Which makes me sad. This year shows have been masterfully giving us the background info. For all it's problems Doctors did it well and currently Legend of the Blue Sea is really showing us how it's done. So I found this episode a bit all over the place as it quickly tries to establish the core story in one episode while moving the present story forward. It's not the worst I've seen, but it doesn't quite move smoothly enough. Some of the emotional impact is lost due to the speed.
Overall I'm super excited for this drama! The wardrobe/make up is awesome! The Angel of Death's wardrobe is so awesome. On anyone else I think it would be tacky, but Lee Dong Wook is so freaking hot a garbage bag would look amazing. Kim So Hyun's guest role was awesome and I loved her in it! (I had a freak out moment when I thought she would be in it for more than a guest role.) Gong Yoo looks so amazing and he's already adding so much depth to his character.
I look forward to how the story will go moving forward because it has so much promise in this rough episode. I like the mix that's going on. This balance of fantasy and a modern day Cinderella story. With all kinds of extra bits tossed in.

Well for first episode I felt so many things ..
I cried like a baby when she saw her mother in candle light
I laughed when the boys were tossing pepper
and I am surprised of the cast.
This HAS to be a good drama really.

I just thought at first the age gap between the mains is huge (physically) but I kinda like them

Gosh this drama is such a roller coaster and this was only the 1st episode!
It had me in tears at the beginning, broke my heart in the middle and had me so giddy with happiness at the end! I'm seriously in love with this drama (certainly the 1st ep) :D
Usually it's normal when smt sad happens in a drama you've been watching to have a tear in your eye, since you've been emotionally invested in the characters life, here? A completely brand new drama, yet 15 minutes in and I had a tear in my eye. That's quite something. 15 minutes more and it managed to bring another tear forth. That right there is some truly amazing script & acting.
And by the end of the episode I was so giddy with happiness, I totally laughed out loud.
The overall cinematography was so beautiful, it truly was like watching some super amazing grand movie, didn't feel like a drama at all! The music also added the feels.
And characters themselves. Their interactions. Fabulous!
If the rest of the drama will follow the 1st episode it'll be one of the greatest works ever created. nuff said ~
