Both Xu Xu and Ji Bai are separately investigating Shiyong abduction and determine where he got kidnapped. They uncover another suspect that is known for human trafficking. This brings them to another case of a mute girl who went missing is found dead. Meanwhile, the chairman, and patriarch of the Ye household is reminiscing with an old friend. As well Ye Zixi, is contacting a mystery person that she will meet up with. The next morning after her training, Xu Xu walks into the lunch room where Ji Bai and Zhao Han are eating lunch which they thought was from her, but she corrects them and mentions it is from Yao Meng, and slightly implies that Yao Meng may have more romantically inclined feeling towards the Captain. However, when Xu Xu realizes her mistake and acknowledges it, this surprises Ji Bai because he believes geniuses like Xu Xu would never apologize for anything and puts her into a new light. After this incident Ji Bai and the team investigates the mute girl's case when he gets a call from Ye Zixi where she ends up confessing to him because she believe she doesn't have 'much time left'. This concerns Ji Bai, but he can't immediately go after her until after they investigate a crime scene on the mute girl. They are able to determine that the girl Ma Rongrong was kidnap meant to be sold as someone's bride but when the man that was suppose to be her "husband' didn't want her they ended up killing her.
