The most fun I've had in a while watching a movie
This was such a great movie. Watch it with no regrets.Kind of wish that it was a tv show, because it would have been great, the main leads are hilarious and have such great chemistry, not to mention that they simply are, extraordinary people.
Loved it.
The story was not very long, and though I wish it could have been longer, the writer clearly knew the sweet spot for an ending, which was so refreshing. There's not a moment I would have cut out of the movie, except maybe the fight scenes and even those add flavour.
Such a refreshing movie

Good but more pls
It contain spoilersGood from start to finish but something was missing, it needed more scenes, too bad nothing came of it with the girl that Ki Joon carried and posed behind, it could have led to something interesting with more action too...
When the girls are saved, the arrest of the traffickers, the policewoman who helped them... Those part could've been developped, and been really interesting. Maybe it's bc I usually watch drama that I need more idk, it left me hungry. Overall it was really great, the comedy was hilarious too.

I really enjoyed this buddy cop movie! Technically, PSJ and KHN aren't cops yet just police university students who happen upon a kidnap/egg donor/organ removing scheme. Even with the seriousness of the stroryline. This movie is laugh out loud funny! The scene where they are poking one of the villians with the skewer had me on the floor!!
There were some really dumb moments of course by the police and that pissed me off entirely. They went to look for a moguls son instead of kidnapped women and then the scene at the police station was completely ridiculous nearly runined the movie for me.
PSJ and KHN should be in more comedies together. They were both so good here.
I loved Park Ha Sun as Joo Hee she had a limited part but she was fantastic!

The main-leads…!
Honestly worth watching.I regret not watching it sooner, but honestly I think it was a perfect time for me to watch. I missed them so much! The two actors are amazing. I’ve been their fans for years and it’s nice to see the two of them in one drama.
The plot was satisfactory. Got emotional at some point but their dedication to the drama inspired me in real life. I actually took Law Enforcement in College and it's nice to bring back some knowledge.
Their chemistry is so funny and cute.
This drama motivated me to stay strong, have perseverance, and have faith.
It may be cliche for me to say but regardless of being a comedy slash action slash yeye I love how they input the struggles of thinking what's right. If you should listen to the upper people or believe in what you believe is right.
I don't know what else to say but thank you for the inspiration even for a little bit.
It motivated it.

Midnight runners
It's certantly a more unique, less talked about issue what those thugs we're doing, it made me squirmish, but I guess that's goodI wished there was a news broadcast scene at the end though, and we never learn what happened to one girl, or if they called the other 2 girls like they promised, I'm assuming there would be a sequel hopefully

A perfect mix of humour and dark
This movie wasn't at all what I expected. I chose it based solely on the fact that it starred Park Seo Joon. I briefly looked over the synopsis, but the trailer wouldn't load. I went straight in to watching it, and was definitely not disappointed. This is my first review, so bare with me.The drama featured a perfect mix of humour and seriousness. The film starts off with the background to the leads and how their friendship formed, which was not at all boring. The MLs shared a close bond, that as a lonely k-drama/k-movie lover, I was very envious of. A comical duo played extremely well by the actors, a very genuine portrayal of friendship. The humorous and bromantic moments shared by the ML's made up for the angst or negative emotions or moments further along in the film. The MLs were well-written, their 'personalities' were something I'd say the world needs more of. Kind, caring, genuine, and trustworthy.
Though the plot took darker turns, it touched on issues that are still problems today (a very real and might I say scary ones at that), and showed the difficulty law officials face when picking and choosing which cases should be prioritised. At many moments in the movie, I was angry and annoyed at the system of 'following protocol'. At times it appeared to me that it was conflicting morals and values.
The plot was simple and easy to understand, which is the beauty of this movie. It was easy to follow, and there weren't tons of tiny details crucial to the plot, you wouldn't get caught up in trying to piece it together. It was straightforward, and from the start you knew who the good/bad guys were. Because of this, it might be harder to rewatch, the plot would for most, easily remembered, yet this doesn't take away from the quality and enjoyment of the film.
There wasn't any gore. Some scenes, I did turn away, based on my fear of needles. But nothing hardcore or extremely bloody.
Midnight Runners is a easy-going movie, perfect for a Friday night. As I said earlier, it touches on darker subjects but is balanced out by the leading comical duo. Would definitely recommend. 10/10

*Chef's kiss*
So, as a disclaimer, I am a massive fan of Park Seo Joon, so I'm gonna be biased in this. (very very biased in this.)The acting in my opinion is brilliant, they don't have plot armour, they act as what would be expected from any police student in that situation. And, oh me oh my, I haven't laughed so well since yesterday. The humour is fantastic and what little school scenes there are, they're highly relatable.
Loved this and will be coming back again in the near future. 10/10 would recommend to anybody.

More than Just a Comedy
What a fantastic movie! I was expecting a typical buddycop comedy, but it is so much more than this. This seemingly generic story brings attention to important social issues in such a masterful way that I cannot praise it enough. I hope that my review will give it at least some of the justice that it deserves.Park Ki Joon and Kang Hee Yeol are two students of the Seoul Police Academy that could not be more different than they are. Ki Joon, Mr. Action, is hotheaded and way better at sports than at studying. Raised by his single mother, he comes from poverty and has decided to become a policeman because he cannot afford going elsewhere. Hee Yeol, Mr. Bookworm, is calm and excels at his studies. Unlike Ki Joon, he is well-off and has entered the Police Academy to stand out from his classmates, who have all gone to study science at prestigious universities.
Against all odds, the two become best friends and team up to solve a kidnapping case, overcoming obstacles such as indifferent policemen, bureaucracy, and their own lack of experience along the way.
Aside from entertaining the viewers with Ki Joon and Hee Yeol's bickering and mishaps, this story is a serious one. It reminds that the main objective of the police is to protect people and that excessive sticking to protocol clouds rational judgement and causes more suffering. Most importantly, it draws attention to human trafficking, one of the most difficult issues that our society faces today. Every minute one person gets trafficked, but few people talk about that. Please, check out the organization A21, whose goal is to abolish slavery everywhere. This a link to their website: https://www.a21.org/ You can educate yourself, donate, and even volunteer.
Park Seo Joon and Kang Ha Neul deliver brilliant performances. They have great comedic timing and are a really funny duo. Notably, their fighting scenes are realistic. The two main characters do not take ten men with one blow. The bad guys are actually stronger or at least as strong as them. It is their genuine desire to save the victims that gives the students the strength to prevail over the criminals.
Overall, Midnight Runners is a gem. It is hilarious and feel-good and makes a strong statement about the duty of policemen and the meaning of being a good person. I think that everyone should give it a try. The final scene, the one after the credits, alone makes it a beautiful story.

Mediocre
Plot: Two student policemen who went to find girlfriends in a bar accidentally witnessed a kidnapping incident of a woman they were about to hit on. Nothing too deep about the plot, it was rather flat and shallow.Acting: Convincing acting of everyone. Just two silly students who suddenly found out about their passion and mission in life.
Music: Nothing memorable for me.
Rewatch Value: Not something I would rewatch even on boring days.
Overall: It has it’s funny moments but not exactly light but more on subpar plot and dull flow. 6 stars for the comical sense and acting but not recommendable. You won’t miss out on anything if you haven’t watched it yet.

delightful
The main element of this film is comedy, not crime investigations, the male characters are clumzy and funny, this is what connects the audience to this film. The writing is not great but it is beautiful. It is enough to touch your heart and bring a smile on your face, of course not worth repeating but definitely worth watching once. Was this review helpful to you?
fantastic
one of the most captivating films i've seen in a while.park seojoon and kang haneul's chemistry is incredible and rly portrayed a wholesome sense of brotherhood. there weren't any scenes with other candidates/people outside the academy which is fine tbh. i wouldve liked to see them eat steak at heeyeols fathers market tho loll that wouldve been fun
the movie started off pure and lighthearted and got dark and serious rly fast but i don't have anything wrong with that. it was a good blend of comedy and action and who doesn't love a good old training montage. their characters were passionate and hardworking and insanely driven. plot was simple and easy to follow, brought me to tears and would definitely rewatch

If South Korea produced a remake of "3 Idiots", this would be it.
This drama is just two knuckleheads running around South Korea and doing weird stuff together. I guess it was a little funny?? But what little humour couldn't even make up for the lacklustre and dry plot. There's nothing original or interesting about this movie. I suggest you save your time to go watch something else.In summary:
What i liked - Kang Ha-neul and Park Seo-jun
What i disliked - The entire movie
Star of the show: N.A.
Rating: 4.5/10
Watch if you want to be as stupid as the two characters.
