very good
Actors are excellent, plot is entertaining - based on revenge but later enemies turn to lovers - so i was pleased to watch this. The SML - a village lad that can only love unconditionally - was also particularly good, as well as the traumatic mom.I honestly cannot praise this enough. Im sure i'll get back to it some day.

Suberb acting!
Should you? Would you? Could you?You should watch this one (YES! )
You would recommend this to others. (YES!)
You could watch this again. (In Parts!)
Ending: Happy
Superb show! Superb acting!
The plot has the same age old “revenge” theme. But what makes it so thrilling to watch is the fast pacedness and the brilliant performances by all the actors. The lead pair ( Marcus Chang and Eugenie Liu) are simply amazing in their roles, with blazing chemistry. I loved the character development of both their roles. Her becoming confident after the blow ( mother absconding after a company mismanagement) and him becoming softer after falling in love (him wanting justice for his family after seeing his father die in his arms and mother blaming him thus turning him into a cold personality just bent on revenge). The supporting cast also just fall into their roles so brilliantly. Yes there is a lot is stress too but when you look at it from both their POV, you know it’s justified.
I loved the OST esp Don’t Panic by Shi Shi. It keeps reverberating in the mind the whole day. Esther Yang who plays the friend of the female lead is brilliant.
The only minus point is that the episodes are tooooo long and one tends to lose patience but this is the only drama where I still didn’t fast forward in fear of losing an important scene.
It's definitely worth watching. Once you start you wont be able to stop it till the end.

Thank God they didn't stretch the love triangle too much ,love triangle always been the saddest part because either side has the genuine feelings.
It is the story otherwise if such thing happens in realy I don't think one is love someone so much that they forgot that their love is indirectly reason for theirs father's death but at the same time it is right also that because of parent mistake why a child has to face but then too. I don't know what I will do if I am in the place of actor "let bygones be bygones " or leave my love and if I am actress place then I able to face him though indirectly I am the reason of his father's death ..
Everybody acting was good.
I like the male actor the most he looks so handsome in every type of expressions ,in the whole the drama my favourite part was when he got screen ,I like watching his acting ,he was too good.
I thought her mother at last put to be innocent that she framed but actually she did the wrong doings.
Can give a one shot.
I like the songs also especially the panic one and I love you one .

There was a great deal of suspense and I liked the ML's family and their personalities. There was a lot of comedy. I liked the dilemma the ML had with protecting the FL and his revenge. I liked him protecting her too but at the same time, I hated how dense and innocent the FL lead was. Also, I wish she had made the friend and ML work more to earn her forgiveness. In my opinion, she was being a bit of a doormat. But she was the good in the middle of the bad world, so I suppose it fits the aesthetic, the best part of it was the FL adapting to her new circumstances, which shows that she is also a strong person. The acting was superb. Was this review helpful to you?

Recently I liked TD's more than KD's because the story written well and had more strong plot Inspite of loving KD's but I hated the trivial shallow repeated stories and the epilogues were always weak
I liked in this story that the male lead although he was aggressive and tough but he was so kind to the FL vise versa in the KD'S which the ML continues being A***** to the FL till the very end
It was a little bit long and they could make the side stories much better than that
But they decided more to focus on the main leads
But I didn't get bored
I really enjoyed the feelings in this drama
Although the FL her acting was a little bit weak
And the ML was the only actor I've ever seen who can't walk normally Infront of the camera
But he is a brilliant actor
Almost till the end I hated both mothers
I liked so much the character of the brother and the friend
Both were fair enough not to hurt main leads under the name of love
I liked also that the drama was realistic about fashion and they repeated the fits many times which made me feel :
Yes that's how normal people should be
At the KD'S the girl was so poor and she wears every day a new fit inspite of not having a big wardrobe.. LOL
I liked this drama so, really a nice strong one but the end was a little cold for me

revenge is not always sweet
Really liked the drama. The story of revenge might not have been anything particularly new, but the story as a whole was very well written. Acting was really good too. Marcus as always shines bright as a character that seems bad on the first look but actually is a soft and warm person inside. He does that so well !
Their love story is bitter sweet but really well done all way through.
The drama shows us a nice message that getting blinded by revenge is never a good thing. And when life gives you a reason to take yourself out, you should. Everything happens for a reason after all.

Justice vs. Revenge...with a bit of romance and humor!!
So I’m a huge fan of Marcus Chang and "Behind Your Smile" is so far my favorite of his dramas thus far. Here as Zhao Yiting he's as handsome as ever, pained over his family's tragedy, and emotionally flawed as he lives his life in pursuit of vengeance. What's not to love as the guileless Lei Xinyu appears in his life and starts breaking down his walls even as she moves in her own arc of self-discovery that many others had to pay the price for her comfortable life. One reason I enjoy Taiwanese dramas so much is for their insights into Chinese culture and family life. "Behind Your Smile" in some key scenes re-enforces the importance of filial relationships, defines the three types of love that are key to happiness (family, friendship, and romantic), and explains societal justice vs. righteous justice.
Both Marcus and Eugenie get to really display their emotional chops, especially when Lei Xinyu has enough information to really stand up for herself against all the people who've lied to her. Any Asian actress has to be able to shed a tear at the drop of a hat, but Marcus also had to shed tears of sadness, joy, and regret in between behaving like an uber mensch.
These scenes are just as much a tribute to excellent writing as acting. I especially liked Xiaoyue's soliloquy on the tiger vs. the lamb and how he seeks to protect the lamb, not just attack and maybe his nature is misunderstood. So many of the scenes of confrontation between the brothers, the mothers, etc. were truly gripping.

More revenge than romance
"Revenge is a dish best served cold." This certainly applies to Zhao Yi Ting (Marcus Chang), as he coldly goes about exacting revenge on someone that ruined his family. He's been slow and methodical about it (12 years), and to hear him talk, nothing is going to stand in his way. That is, until he meets Lei Xin Yu (Eugenie Liu) - the innocent, naive and optimistic daughter of his target. This show is about how love can overcome revenge, but only if you let yourself be open to it.The storyline and script were good, though drawn out at times. There were twists that kept cropping up, keeping me interested.
Marcus Chang was very good in this role. He had that hard, distant stare down to a science, but when he smiled, oh my!
I felt that Eugenie Liu overacted quite a bit, especially during the scenes with her mom. She cried A LOT, and it got to the point that I was wondering what calamity the writers were going to put her through next.
Their chemistry was good, the romance was very subdued (just a couple of kisses). I really did feel this was more about revenge than romance.
The music was good and the vignette they showed at the beginning of each episode was very dramatic and you got a feel for the actors' chemistry here as well.
I loved the secondary characters of her roommate and his family. There are mysteries surrounding these people that you find out as you go along, but the love was there, when they were fighting for each other, or just kidding around.
I also liked a technique that I don't think gets used enough in Asian dramas. We always have an overabundance of the girl/boy (usually girl) that likes the main lead and is willing to do whatever it takes to be with them, even knowing that they don't like them or are in love with someone else, and they do all kinds of evil/underhanded things. In this show, there were a couple of instances of someone liking someone else, but their motivation was happiness for the object of their affection. They put their own feelings aside to help the person they liked. I love that!
The ending was happy and sweet and the writers did a wonderful job of including his family in their "happily ever after". I would have liked at least a kiss, but I'm just being picky.

I liked the heroin's role. She was just perfect. She was so adorable. She justified her role.
I also liked the lead actor's role. At first it showed that he is cold hearted but after some time you will find him caring and love his character.
Other characters also play their roles well.
It has a beautiful story, so you may like it.
It's ost is best. Although I don't understand their language but I like to listen its ost.
As a whole its a must watch drama as it is light hearted drama.
