they're probably in the same universe

Goodbye, My Princess tells about a love story that revolves around the 9th Princess of Western Liang as she journeys to the Central Plains to fulfill a marriage alliance with the Crown Prince.

"Wonderland of Love" follows the story of the emperor's grandson Li Ni, who guards the border and is forced to take on the responsibility of quelling the rebellion. During military campaigns against the rebels, he encounters the ambitious Cui Lin, who is the only daughter of General Cui Yi, the commander of the Cui family army. They cross paths with each other many times on the battlefields. One is scheming and witty, the other is guileful and forthright. In their competitiveness with each other, from time to time they calculate and predict each other's plan and movement to fight as the winner, which leads them down the path of falling in love.

If you're looking for romance tragedy...
-ML in both dramas took advantage of their FL, then take over the others' tribe/country and killed her loved ones and people.
-They also uses other women to further their ambition.
-Yep, both MLs are possessive jerks.
-Both FLs because of duty and responsibility to save their people, refuses to be with ML and rather sacrifice themselves.

Female lead feels trapped with the male lead, tries to escape but ends up falling in love. In both cases, the male lead is possessive and overprotective.

In both dramas, the main female lead (FL) is a spirited woman allowed a lot of freedom who falls in love with a prince in disguise.

In both, when the FL realizes the horror of what she's getting into, she tries to back out, compromise, run away from her fate. In both, these attempts are rational, understandable and deeply empathetic. In both, the FL has much more to lose than the prince.

On the other hand, Good Bye, My Princess is darker and more sure of its themes than The Red Sleeve, and it centers the main FL's troubles and sacrifices all the way until the end.

Both is good love story. But this is more emotional than mr queen. Because this is chinese they make lot of episodes so some episodes are boring unlike mr queen. But worth your watch.

One is the drama, the other a bonus modern day reincarnation to ease the pain.

A bad boy who suffers the consequences, and ruins the lives all around him.

Good Bye, My Princess features the main male lead as he walks the path into hell. Here, accurately portrayed, as the darkness eats him alive he treats the main female lead worse and worse. Obsessively trapping her and refusing to let her go, even though being with him is crushing her soul.

If you are going to portray toxic romance and dark storylines, this is how to do it.

Peng Xiao Ran is the main actress in both
There’s a lot of angst and tragedy in both
But more importantly, both series are somehow similar and yet different : in both, the female lead falls for the king/prince of an enemy country who ruins her tribe and she ends going to live in the enemy country. In both, even though the prince/king loves her, she can’t forget how he ruined her kins and country. Also in both tv series, the male lead (king/prince) also causes the ruin and death of the princess
What makes it interesting is that in both series, Peng Xiao Fan’s character lives in VERY similar settings (the tribes of both female leads are almost the same ; there’s also a killing-wolf scene in both series so I couldn’t help but think that SJFY’s writer willingly did plenty of winks to GMP) and in both series, there’s a princess who gets ruined by the male lead and has a devoted female friend who’s her lady companion but she plays a different character : in GMP, she plays the naive, innocent and pitiful princess who gets ruined by the male lead but in SJFY, she plays the devoted, smart and badass best friend who devotes everything to the princess and then gets her revenge on the male lead. So watching SJFY is like watching her character in GMP getting her revenge on the evil male lead and becoming badass !

Both are historical dramas with independent FL who grew up with a loving family and then witness their family brutally murdered. Both MLs start seemingly silly and then do evil things, and are obsessed with the FL. Neither couple ends up together, but GMP has a tragic ending, FFL has a good ending for the FL.

If you like a grey ML and a charming, innocent FL then you'll like this one. Really great music, star crossed lovers, Highly recommend!

Although they aren't similar by the plot, the angst genre connects them. There was so many misunderstandings in both of the dramas, that makes you wanna kill one or another main character ... The humor was good. Sarcastic jokes too.
