I am actually glad that I gave the second season of Good Morning Call a chance, because now I am not sure why I did not enjoy the first one as much. I think I might need a certain mood for dramas, and the first season was fun, but there were a lot of things that bothered me – but there were not-so-good things in this season too, only I did not mind them as much. So was it my mood or did the second season really get better?

Story: I did enjoy this season tremendously in spite of all the cliche because at its core it is about two humans growing together and it is adorable. Both of our MCs just need a little bit more confidence in themselves and their relationship.

Characters: There were still a lot of cliche and tropes that I did not enjoy like all the males in the show falling for our clumsy main character – okay, this is an exaggeration, the important males in the show, and even if I am super clumsy so related a lot with Nao, she was quite annoying sometimes. But, as I said, Nao is young and she is growing up, plus she is a great human being that cares a lot about the ones around her – she and Uehara just need to learn to TALK MORE ABOUT THEIR FEELINGS!

Anyway, I kinda fell for Natsume and now I want to cut my hubby’s hair short (his hair is longer than mine), dye it red and make him wear hats – he will look absolutely horrible but closer to Natsume’s look!

Overall: I am giving this season a 7/10 which is a lot higher than the first one which I marked with 4/10 – the thing is the 1st season has more episodes too and it’s easier to get bored by it, plus as I said in the beginning maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for it. Anyway, I actually quite enjoyed the 2nd season and even though it is an original story and no longer based on the manga, I decided to start reading the manga because I cannot get enough of our characters – unfortunately that means no Natsume in the manga *cries*.

It was much better than the first season. I felt like it was more realistic and I enjoyed how the characters (in particular, Nao) recognized their shortfalls and worked to become better people (in their own way). I think I also liked this season more because I was already familiar with the characters and the plot so it didn't have to "settle in" so-to-speak like the first season did. Some of the misunderstandings were frustrating and I felt like Nao and Uehara’s communication could have been better...but given their age and circumstances it’s somewhat understandable. Overall, I really enjoyed this season and I’m sad it’s over!

This was...surprisingly not bad. Huh.

I'm no fan of the first season- far from it. Something about the main couple irritated me to the point of madness. When I heard that there was going to be a second season, my first thought was 'oh hell to the nah'. Nevertheless, I decided to try it anyway after I read a couple of reviews saying that it's much better than the first. They were right.

For starters, I'm very glad the producers decided to cut down on the (frankly unnecessary) amount of episodes- from 17 to 10. This ensured that each episode had enough content to keep the viewers interested and invested (unlike the first season where I can't even remember 70% of the show). The love triangle in the first season was absolute trash; I don't think ANYONE was sold on it. This one, though, was wonderfully heartbreaking- GOD I wanted her to end up with the second male lead more than Uehara. He was literally incredible. I still think he got the short end of the stick by the end of the drama, being that amazing, but I highly doubt the writers could have ended the season with Nao dating him. Suffice to say, the love triangle in this was NOT half-assed, unlike the first season (side note: the first season SML makes a frequent appearance here, not as a love rival but just as a side character with his own love line. It's decent.)

Nao is slightly less annoying than the first season, but maybe that's because it's been ages since I've watched it. Her voice is still as shrill and baby-like, though, which got on my nerves quite often. Uehara seems the same from season one, maybe just a little less 'I dont give a damn'. The both of them together was annoying as heck, but hey, they're the main lead. You can't avoid them. (also, Uehara gets his own little triangle with this really pretty and really smart scientist. He should have ended up with her.)

After I watched the season one, I directly watched this one because I really love their chemistry. So I really stayed up late at night just to finish this drama because it is very irresistible. They were more mature on the 2nd season and they were able to know more about themselves. It showed a lot of maturity because they became more aware of their surroundings and they were able to think through a lot of things. I loved the new characters that appeared because they were able to help the couple to be more close and aware to each other. This season was true to life and will likely happen to any couples out there. It dropped a lot of beautiful and inspirational life lessons.

I fell for Daichi and Natsume! They were both handsome and optimistic. They contributed a lot in the story.

Comparing this to season 1, the season 2 is better. Although there are scenes that are quite embarrassing, I appreciated the development of the characters. Uehara became more affectionate to Nao (although he is still in denial sometimes) but I was able to witness more of Uehara's character and I was able to understand his personality more. Yoshikawa was also able to show more of her hardworking side and how much she loves Uehara.

Sadly, their kissing scenes are still like their kissing scenes in season 1. Although there are more kiss scenes and hugging scenes on season 2, I hope that they would kiss for real like I want it to be more passionate, where in you can really sense how much they love each other.

IN CONCLUSION, I enjoyed this drama so much and I would totally wish that there would be a SEASON 3! And if ever there would be SEASON 3, I hope that the romantic scenes would improve. But well, I can say that I'm quite satisfied with this drama and I hope that a lot of people will recognize the drama and watch it as well!

IT'S WORTH IT!

I really love this series!! ! To the point where I finished Season 2 in one sitting. I didn't sleep at all! I really love the chemistry of Uehara and Nao. I love Uehara especially. He's just so handsome, I can't take it. I don't know why he got all the hate. Maybe because he's just misunderstood. He has a difficult time expressing himself and that's why Nao's so insecure in the relationship. He's not perfect on expressing his feelings and that's what makes him human. We all have flaws.
I like Natsume too. He's cute and kind. But Uehara and Nao are just perfect for each other so he really doesn't have a chance. I kinda hate him when he went out of bounds. Betraying his friend and such. And complicating Uehara and Nao's relationship. It was solved by him though so I'll give him some credits.
I hope there's another season (about their married life). Though I know it's just a wishful thinking. I just wanted one hah. Sorry, I've never felt this way towards any drama for a very long time. The so called post-drama addiction and withdrawal syndrome. That's just how good this series is.
I'm really glad I tried this drama. It's really worth my sleepless night.

If you compare this show to mischevious kiss, it has no comparison. This show is literally just a filler and it’s a good entertaining one, but honestly, the poor main female lead was a wussy and she let the dude control her and walk all over her. I honestly felt bad for her. The main male lead was okay sometimes but he was such a dick like 110% of the time and that was so god damn stupid and frustrating. Also Yuri was useless too. So was Daichi. Don’t even get me started on the second season. This show was just an okay watch.

Ok....
This show had me in my feelings with moments that made me wanted to throw something at the tv.

I wanted to see more depth in the characters.  I wanted to see Uehara feel challenged and worried about his ability to keep Nao.  Nao literally had tunnel vision when it came to him.  Guys were falling for her left and right but she was oblivious.  Every last one of them (even Abe) would have been better for her than Uehara.  First season I wanted Daichi or Issei because I believe they would have treated Nao so much better than Uehara.
2nd season I was cheering for Natsume all the way.  I really thought that he would have been excellent competition for Uehara.  They should have made him prove his love to Nao.  He didn't have to do much to win her heart because he had it from the beginning.  At first it seemed like the producers started to create something between Nao and Natsume but alas, it was only wishful thinking.

I watched the entire thing only because I knew that it would have a happy ending no matter how badly I wanted them to break up.  I didn't find it all that realistic.

Let me start off with this: I absolutely was captivated by the first season, and the second one was no different. I was a continuous roller coaster that you just don't want to leave. This season did has a major theme of misunderstanding throughout, but I think it topped the first season nicely. The characters are all finding their way in a new environment and it truly puts relationships to the test. I think this is was surely a season that didn't overshadow the first, but didn't lack in comparison. The continuous addition of second leads makes me think that Nao saved an entire planet in her previous life - but that's all irrelevant since she's so emotionally invested in one man, Uehara. I really enjoyed a more dynamic take of their relationship they established at the end of the first season. Overall, I highly recommend this drama if you're into a sort of soft romance that makes your feelings well, feel. This is a series that I expected to follow the typical path - which it slightly did - but it also gave me a new addiction to the cast and the story. I only wish the ending was slightly clearer, which is something I tend to see in a lot of dramas in the first place. Good Morning Call will make you want to stay up to the morning just to watch, and if you don't believe me, watch it.

The story is a typical romantic comedy of a manga series wherein a handsome and popular boy fell in love with a clueless and unpopular girl.

After high school, Uehara and Nao left their apartment and lived separate rooms, and have gone to college. It seems that everything is alright for the couple. However, problems arose when Natsume and Sakeo came into their lives. Uehara and Nao’s love for each other are put into test.

The characters of the story are well played by the actors. I have also much likened Natsume’s character. He is a loving and caring friend to both Uehara and Nao. The main problem why I did not gave a perfect score for the drama, is that it lacks climactic scenes. The conflict between Nao and Uehara should have been more accurate, and should have shown more on Uehara’s side of the story. Also, I was also surprised why Ichan was not there on season 2

I love this show! I watched both seasons on netflix. At first i thought it would be another one of those cliche romantic comedies. BUT! I was wrong. It's superrr cute! The female lead Nao (Haruka F.) is too adorable in this drama! I really liked how it was a continuation of Nao's and Uehara's lives. The first season was how they fell in love and the second season was about their future. I highly recommend watching this drama because the plot is interesting and the main leads are just so fluffy and cute together!
