Fun, Realistic and Empowering
Fight For My Way was such a refreshing rom-com drama to watch! I initially watched this for PSJ, but honestly I fell in love with each character. The premise that sometimes life doesn't turn out the way you expected is such a realistic portrayal of real life, and they depict it really well here in this drama. I truly felt connected to each of the characters and found myself personally cheering them on. I love that throughout the entire series you get to see them struggle and fail, and trying to figure it out. Even though nobody came out drastically changing their life, they still changed it enough to be happy, and that was such a great message to send.
I know some people would disagree, but I personally found the second leads story to be a huge joy to watch. I was incredibly satisfied and felt the empowerment watching Seol Hee dumping Joo Man. At the same time, I found myself empathizing with Joo Man after. I felt like it depicted the frustrations of a long term relationship well.
I have no complaints with the OTP. I really enjoyed her sticking to her guns about breaking up should he continue to fight in the MMA. I also enjoyed their relationship and the time the drama spent on the little moments with them. Their relationship was well depicted and I truly enjoyed watching it unfold.
I will say that I felt the ending to be a bit rushed. From the acceptance of her mother, to their marriage (and him leaving MMA), as well as Hye Ran. I don't feel like we got a ton of closure. But, I think it was a nice way to leave off as they continue to depict that their life is still ongoing.
Loved this drama, would highly recommend it to anyone.

Certain story choices didn't please me. Still a great Drama to watch.
It was a very good story in the beginning, the characters development is really good, unlike other dramas that put difficulties that don't need to be there, this one is a good example of how k-dramas can be.But the choices about Aera character and the other relationship made me fell uncomfortable in the end. Joo Man was a really bad boyfriend letting things going the way they was with the other girl he just made his girlfriend sad and not helped her to be secure about their relationship, and i was really happy about the break up, but they just ignored the things that happened before ans made them together again without any further development of their story.
And then about Aera, the character in the beginning was really cute avout how she was concerned about Dong Man, she was very worried about him e this made me feel really good to watch them, but in the end she was abusive just breaking up with him because he chooses to pursue his dream of being an athlete, because besides the risks it was his dream of life, he said that prefered to live like this unlike come back to his previous life, unlike this he always supported her when she was pursuing her dream, but she not did this with him just breaking up. I can't feel bonded with her character because of this, it can't be a ten for me because of this kind of story choices.

Story: 9.5/10
Realistic. I was thinking throughout the story of how realistic it is. It talked about real life problems and that was how I was able to connect to the story. I also liked the idea of childhood best friends so that was a plus. The only thing that kind of left me hanging was Kim Tak Soo. What happened to him? But I guess that wasn't the main point of the story so it doesn't bother me as much.
Acting/Cast: 9.0/10
The acting was pretty good as expected from these top rated actors. My favorite was Seol hee or the landlord lady. Another thing, the reason why I doubted myself in the first place to watch this drama was because of Park Seo Joon. Other than Kill me,Heal me (His character in that drama was my favorite), I would always fall for the second main lead and not him (ex.Hwarang,She was pretty). So I was scared that I would have second lead syndrome in this one. Luckily, the second lead in this one was not that strong.
I'm also happy to see Kim Ji Won on screen after descendants!
Music: 9.0/10
Tbh I wasn't really paying attention to the music until the near end of the drama but one song that really stuck to me was BTOB's "Ambiguous". I listened to all the songs on the track and I must say, I might have to give some of these songs a second listen because of how catchy it is.
Rewatch Value: 7.0/10
Not the type to rewatch but if I needed a little bit of sugar because of how sweet it is, then I would consider rewatching!
I would consider watching this if you wanted something like Weightlifting fairy kim bok joo or strong woman do bong soon!

The BEst
The Drama is definitely a must watch. Yes its one of those rom-coms But will definitely leave you in a good mood. The show progresses well of 4 childhood friends who may not be living a lavish life but definitely living to their fullest. Also it is one of those shows you will be crawling back to to watch it again and again mainly because it is light and easy to watch as it does not involve many sad/difficult emotions. All the characters were well casted and written. If you love RomCom genre of dramas should definitely be on your list! Was this review helpful to you?
OST-
It was good, there were some english songs, some old korean song, and even with tint of fairy tale songs. How i apes on the OST review is by how much i want to find the song, and some songs were searchable.
ACTING-
I really liked it, the main actress is very great, especially her crying that isn't cute, yet not ugly. The man actor is very good too, i saw him in other dramas and i was glad that he played the male lead role. The side characters were great too! Not really a side characters, but second couple were great, the actress played kind and naive girl, and actor played kind yet confused character.
PLOT-
The plot was very great, it shows the development of these ordinary lives and how life unreality is. The second couple was more what i liked, how love isn't always strong, or how feelings can fade. The first couple is great too, MC doesn't fall for ML straight away, she even goes on a date with someone. The ML has his problems, such as his fighting, and past romance that he can't let go. It doesn't have cliches, and a strong minded MC. It's not really for people who want revenge, jealousy or those kind of things since characters try to resolve these things rather than going head first. The comedy is heavy, and all episode i laughed at really hard.

Brilliant, but...
After dozens of k-dramas watched, I know that a lot of them could be better than what they actually are. This is one of those brilliant shows, but pity for the show itself. Nothing to say about the cast: well sorted and brilliant, with a shiny Kim Ji-won. However the story is mediocre, and despite the effort of actresses and actors, it never took off completely, laying on a flat bed made of unexpressed things. But still, if this premise would have been maintained all along the show, in the end it could lead also to a 8/10, since the hilarious moments were several and really funny. What I could not stand for sure is the sexism which permeates the show. As a man I felt uncomfortable watching all these damsel-in-distress moments, as some lines which were surprisingly told by the leads, who expectadly should be just open minded and far away from that Joseon-like way to see a woman. In addition to this, the lack of concreteness led to not feel well compelled into the story, and even the (actually few, but potentially valid) dramatic moments left me not moved. This was disappointing. Pity, because as said the comic moments were really among the most hilarious ever seen.

Quarter-life crises
At first, I thought the title 'Fight for My Way' was referring to Ko Dong Man's journey as an athlete. I was wrong - this title and drama are about quarter-life crises experienced by 4 friends in their mid-to-late 20s.What I liked:
1) The writing - Kudos to the writer for fully fleshing out 4 lead characters of this drama. It's great to see growth in Dong Man, Ae Ra, Sul hee, Joo Man. and even Jang Kyung Goo. In terms of professional growth, I like Ae Ra's arc the best especially her interview scenes.
2) Acting - top notch acting by cast, main and supporting. Song Ha Yoon's acting was the most impressive to me. Her character seemed like a submissive / too trusting partner but she put depth, kindness and empathy into the role. I understand why Sul hee behaved that way.
3) Park Seo Joon - I have only watched him in Midnight Runners, The Divine Fury, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim (albeit few episodes only), Concrete Utopia before this series. Fight for My Way is my favourite PSJ work. He looked and acted like an athlete. He was hot when he wore black shirt and jeans in episode 1 - PSJ worked out damn hard for this role! Just look at his forearms - I want to get back hugs from PSJ.
4) Childhood flashbacks - The use of childhood flashbacks is relevant for this drama since the core 3 have been friends from the age of 5 or 6. The child actors were great in their roles but kudos to Lee Han Seo for bringing tenacity and girlboss energy to young Ae Ra.
5) Romance - It's also great that writers demonstrated 2 different types of romantic relationships. We have existing romantic relationship (Sul hee & Joo Man) and budding romance (Dong Man & Ae Ra).
6) Kwak Dong Yeon - I have only watched him in Vincenzo (he was an impressive himbo) and he was also good in this small role.
7) Choi Woo Shik - I have only watched him in movies Parasite, Train to Busan and Okja and DAY6's music videos before this series. It's great to see him in kdrama especially this role. Wah, I never knew he could be a playboy because he has kind / nice guy face!
8) Pyo Ye Jin - I also like her acting because it's the first time I watched her in a baddie role. I was shocked during the conversation she had with Sul hee.
What I disliked:
1) Joo Man - His character is important but I dislike him when he wasn't forthcoming with Sul hee about Ye Jin's interest in him. Despite that, I shed some tears when he mourned the loss of his relationship.
2) Hye Ran's stalker and possessive behaviour is alarming. I dislike past version of Dong Man for being at Hye Ran's beck and call.
Favourite scene
When Dong Man spotted Ae Ra in a sea of audience and then comforted her. That is a best friend move. Very sweet and unexpected scene.

Loved the main couple and their individual characters’ journeys, but I wasn’t able to personally relate to their life problems cause I have zero dreams and ambitions. The second couple.....sooo realistic and relatable and Seol got me in the heart. I felt like I was watching my story. She was by far was my favorite character. She knew her dream of being a mom and having a family didn’t make her any less than those who dream of successful careers. And even though she’s the type of person who will always make sacrifices and put other before her, she also had the strength to stand up for herself. The only iff is when Aera and Dongman temporarily breakup. I totally understand why it happened but it bogged down the story a bit when it was close to perfect.
