Unexpected (2018)

Between two worlds, the real world and the world within a romance........................................................

Different plot entirely but both play on the fact that the leads have a link. In Unexpected they share senses whilst in Link: Eat, Love, Kill they share emotions

Similar in a sense that it both stories revolve around the premise of the lead in a parallel world.

One is a scriptwriter who is stuck inside her script while the another is manga artist inside his manga. They unknowingly make changes in the story.

Similar premise of the main character Transmigrating into a world they created.

Both are romance and both are Chinese

Both main characters end up in comics and make their own story as it is being written on the go. Only the genders are reversed.

Both drama depicts a side characters of manga gaining self awareness. Her attempt to change her story also inadvertently changed the story flow of main characters of manga.

ML feels emotions/pain of FL which is the driving force of them being involved with each other.
FL is unaware of the connection at the start.

One of the protagonist enter a different dimension where they end up causing trouble but found love. The female lead was always whining and cunning towards the male lead.

Both are romantic dramas, which deal with:

- a comic/novel/drama being an actual world for the characters living in it;
- a second female lead trying to overcome her terrible destiny;
- a virtual NPC trying to encourage the change into the script
- the female lead finding her love within and both of them fighting to overcome the rules of this world and death eventually

Both have the main leads being able to feel each other's pain due to the strange circumstances that brought them together.
They give similar feelings when.. the female lead has period crams and the male lead stays in bed (out of pain).. etc.

Both involve students finding love/romance in a virtual world; both feature a ML who is highly ranked (Unexpected = creator of universe; Love O2O = incredibly highly ranked fighter;, both have good, hard-working FLs who are envied and castigated by other females.

Of course personalities, IQ levels and the struggles outside the relationship are completely different. And Unexpected is fantasy where everything occurs in an alternative reality while Love O2O resides firmly in a reality that would actually occur in the present- the moments within the game are always clearly contextualized as part of the game--not reality.

I enjoyed both. The fantastical elements of Unexpected make it a lighter story but both are worth watching.
