For a long time I wanted to watch this drama, but I postponed it thinking it might be not so interesting and too sad. Well, I have finished it today and I must say - it was a perfect story with a bittersweet ending. I cherished every episode, and what real happiness and love can accomplish. There is so many sentences and messages in this drama that can teach so many of us about what real happiness means. What amazed me in this story is that if someone has a cancer the other half hardly survives looking at the other sick person and what about if that patient dies after? But this movie shows how powerful love can be! The main leads incredible acting, and love for each other moved me in such ways that I have not only cried but also looked at life in a completely different angle. We should all learn from this movie, learn how to really love, life and breath happiness. All actors performance was brilliant, and main leads should get an Oscar for theirs. This drama scored 10 in all categories for me. I could not give lower review because this drama is above and beyond brilliant!!! If you want to watch it, you need to be strong, have a lot of tissues by your side towards the end of it and pay attention to messages in this drama. For me the most memorable was the tango dance, the bucket list, the simple I love you. For me this drama was beyond my expectations. It was more than perfect and it stuck in my heart like a thorn that won't be pulled away anytime soon!

Despite all the tears this drama caused me, I really do love it! The one and only reason I rated this a "9" is because I was expecting romantic-comedy. Although it did start with a few funny scenes, overall, this drama was truly a romance. So if you are looking for your typical cutesy romance filled comedy, this is not for you. However, for those who are interested in getting absorbed into the drama, crying in front of your monitor.. get a tissue box! I really recommend this.

This is one of the best drama stories that I have watched. Kudos to the writers! No everyone knows how a patient feel when they're sick much more when they knew that they don't have much time left in the world. This story teaches us that life is really short and that we should LIVE our lives and not just to SURVIVE the world we're in. MUST WATCH! not for a selected few but for everyone who wants to be enlightened with the value of LIFE :)

One word: Beautiful. When Yeon Jae is diagnosed with cancer, she doesn't sit around spending the rest of her time left moping in denial. It's mostly because her dad died from cancer too and pretty much spent his days at the hospital. She quits her pathetic job, gives herself a make-over, travels luxuriously, makes her mom happy, learns tango, falls in love, and practically does all the things she'd stalled for later (on the lines of 'Bucket List'). But obviously, at some point she had to deal with the truth and it was kinda sad. Really loved her! And she is so pretty! Kinda looks like IU (Pil Sook from Dream High). :)
And Now, I shall officially start crushing on Lee Dong Wook: KYAAAAAAA, So hot ^^ Gosh, the showers scenes and the jealousy scenes *_* And the pout. And the wavy, slightly permed hair. Mmmmm.
x)

Haha, but seriously, loved it. Especially the ending ( I know that I say it for every dramas :P). I'm glad how they left the story in the end. Neither there was a grief-striking death nor a miraculous cure. Just a beautiful message. It might be the biggest cliche when they say everyone moment counts. But then again, cliches are cliches because they are unreasonably true. I laughed a lot while watching this drama. And then cried. And then laughed. Then cried. A LOT. And then, finally, I smiled.
Lol, sorry. That was cheesy. But anyways, A MUST-WATCH! :)

What made this drama so enjoyable?
Certainly not originality. It's an idea that's typical of Korean dramas and there are scenes typical of romance dramas, but the combination of cheesy romance moments, superb acting (especially from the main, Kim Sun Ah) and strong supporting characters (Uhm Ki Joon) is perhaps what made this drama so enjoyable. The chemistry between the cast was great. The viewer is able to sympathize with Lee Yeon Jae, Chae Eun Suk, and also at a few rare moments Im Se Kyung (she is a rich bitch that I did not despise as much in a drama). The result is a drama filled with tears and also moments that make you smile.

This story is well written, produced, and acted. The theme to this drama is to live your life to the fullest, because you never know what will happen. Although there is fear and sadness at the thought of death, there is also strength and awareness that wasn’t there before.
Kim Sun Ah plays Yeon Jae with exceptional grace and strength. Her character transformation may not be typical of someone that is facing death, but her way of life after finding out that she was dying should be how we all aspire to live.
Lee Dong Wook demonstrates the change of Ji Wook as someone who has no passion for life to someone that is willing to leave everything to live the life he chooses. His happiness and pain are intense.
Uhm Ki Joon plays Eun Suk who also experiences changes in how he deals with life and his work after meeting Yeon Jae. He really shows how hard it must be to deal with death every day. I can’t imagine that it is an easy job.
The secondary actors and stories were also well done, but I wish they had focused more on the main couple. If this story has any downfalls it is that there were not enough sweet Sun Ah/Dong Wook moments. They looked totally great together and there was great chemistry.
The music is good too.
I probably won’t rewatch this, but it is rewatchable.
I really think this is a drama worth watching. It has sad parts, but it also has hope. Enjoy!!!

"Right now... I'm happy." It doesn't take long to become addicted to this drama. It also doesn't take long to fall in love with the characters. It will always go back to dying, but the way that they portray the concept of dying and hoping for the future is absolutely perfect. It may seem like a basic romance/angsty storyline but that meaning runs so deep it's unbelievable, beautiful, and more importantly, believable. This drama has actually inspired me to be much more of an optimist and live in the future and plan for the future. & Not dream of being happy, but actually being happy.

Alright so I know that a lot of people absolutely loved loved loved this drama. I thought it was alright. The first few episodes had me almost giving up hope. And then when it actually got interesting it didn't last as long as I'd like. Then every episode had someone crying and personally if everyone in the kdrama is crying, I don't feel like I need to add my own tears to the pool. I only shed a tear by the second to the last and last episodes.

It's an ok drama but there have been better.

Love love this drama, its my top 5 favorite. m a fan of kim sun ah and lee dong wook so to have the collabo was awsome. He's always great when it comes to chemistry. His facial expressions and emotions says it all. I cried the last few pisodes especially when she told the mom. Junsu's ost for "you are so beautiful" is one of my favorite songs. I died in the tango scenes when his heartbeat was throbbing. must see

WOW!!! A must watch drama for those who want to change their life.

I have watched several movies where the main character may die due to illness and usually the theme is that how a person learns to love and the family has to prepare to say their goodbyes.

First let me get few things of my chest before I describe what really moved me about this drama. I would have given this drama a perfect 10 if it were not for episodes 10-13. The three episodes dragged on and on about FL's depression. I understand that for a cancer patient, depression would be a part all the emotions but in this case it was too much. However, in retrospect as I write this review, may be the writers were thinking that it is very difficult to stand tall in front of circumstances without allies and the love of your life.

Second.. Acting: I am in love with KIM SUN AH's acting skills. She really carried the character and the emotions till the end. Not for one second I felt that she was acting. I also give high marks to the doctor Uhm Ki Joon who had the most transformation of this drama. So from my POV, Yeon Jae (FL) & Eun Suk (doctor) were the heroes of this drama and the director executed their relationship very well. I was not too thrilled with mom's acting especially at the critical moment of mom's discovery of daughter's cancer. I think Kim Hye OK (mom) could have done a better job. Her acting at that moment looked fake and it took away from this beautiful drama.

My Interpretation of this drama:
This drama is not for everyone. This is NOT a ROM/COM. It is a serious drama giving a powerful message about creating a life of the dreams for oneself. The cancer and life/death situation was there to WAKE the FL up and take action. When she threw all the caution to the wind, she finally started to LIVE!!. That's when the work of transforming her life began. For me the following quote from the drama sums it up:

"There isn't much to life. It is not like we take our money and power with us when we die. we just live each day by seeing the person we love. As we live like that, that'll be a happy life".

I also learnt from this drama about self-respect. One cannot begin to create a life of their dreams until one begins to fully self respect themselves first. Expecting self-respect from others without loving myself first is a futile effort. The journey begins inside at first. In this drama when our FL put herself and her happiness first, it was wonderful to watch how people around also transformed.

I hope you watch this drama. The ending was a bit of a surprise but did not disappoint me. Thank you the writers, the actors for such a beautiful work of art and life.

Started off strong but ?

The story started off strong, but it grew to be flat and slow. The cast do a great job, but the story just drags on and on. The FL’s character/personality is hard to grasp initially. The music in my opinion is also terrible, ESPECIALLY the annoying song that plays over and over as if they’re in Italy. I wouldn’t watch this again. It was a struggle to get through. No joke though, if they had better music this rating wouldn’t be as low. There weren’t many cute moments that give you the butterflies in this one—some passionate scenes but it’s not the same. My Girl is way better than this one.

This could be in every romantic fan's bucket list...

I am a little divided with this drama...
I usually want stories that has close and happy endings. But, sometimes, an ending that we can cherish and maybe is open to our dreams and hopes is nice.
Sometimes poetry is not written but rather portrait in a movie. Even with some unnecessary moments, this drama delivers good pace, silent and will give you warmth at the same time that punches you with an endless winter.
STORY – it is quite simple but very well written. We have it all, the characters are deep enough for us to understand them, the situations also. Is it a love story? Well, it is so any stories in one.
ACTING – awesome acting for the most of the cast.
MUSIC – the music is used very well, painting the scenes in a good way.
REWATCH – never. This drama is awesome, but remind me “Grave of the fireflies”, a wonderful “anime” movie that I advise everyone to watch, but I will never view it again.
OVERALL – a beautiful story. If you like that, please watch and let your mind dream of a new hope…
