Gu Yi (Luo Zheng) is the demanding and seemingly cold CEO of the Anxia Group, a successful real estate developer. His personal assistant is the quick-thinking, strong, and independent Qian Jing (He Rui Xian). Together, the CEO and his assistant make a powerful team, and their working relationship allows them to land lucrative contracts with relative ease. They have been working together for several years, and, eventually, their relationship became romantic.

But while Gu Yi seems calculating and aloof, he is actually a very troubled individual. A car accident has left him with trauma, and the events of that fateful day haunt his thoughts and dreams. This has left him with deep emotional scars and sometimes extreme mood swings. And that makes him volatile and possessive, particularly toward Qian Jing. For her own part, Qian Jing is also haunted by ghosts from her past. As her boss/lover’s temper becomes more erratic, Qian Jing finds herself unsure as to whether she should stay with him, or walk out for good. With love rivals also on the scene, trouble is brewing for this duo. Can love help them out of this quandary?

More of an Adult romance with Cold CEOs and strong women. Both CEOs deal with a fear from childhood and eventually work really hard to get the main FL. When I finished this series Whats Wrong with Secretary Kim came to mind....if you liked Lost Romance their is a good chance you'd like Whats Wrong with Secretary Kim as well.

Same director, so it creates a similar feel. If you laugh while watching What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, Because This Is My First Life will make you laugh.
Both male leads don’t believe in love, but end up falling in love.
Funny important person giving advice to the male lead.
Same sound effects.

While not dealing with the same issues at all, they both have very strong FL and ML who cares more for her than the material world.
They are both funny and have real, modern day romance!

- Park seo joon as the male lead
- strong female lead
- The romance is the main point of the story with a couple of side plots
- the secondary characters also have screen time and romance plots
- cute and funny without being boring
- no unecessary drama or misunderstandings

Secretary Kim has similar vibes to the romanace and comedy, taking on a more refreshing approach of the typical bad/cold guy thrope. However, Cheese in the Trap incorporates more of the sinister sides of liking someone with a hard to deal with personally while Sceretary Kim is more in the romcom sphere.

This is basically the remake/related version of the Korean drama of the same name.
"The series revolves around the narcissistic Lee Young Joon, the vice president of a company run by his family. He is very self-absorbed and thinks highly of himself, so much that he barely acknowledges the people around him. Lee Young Joon has a capable and patient secretary Kim Mi So who has remained by his side and worked diligently for 9 years without any romantic involvement. However, Mi So now wants to set her life & focus on herself so when she decides to resign from her job, hilarious misunderstandings ensue. After 9 years of their strictly-workplace relationship, can it now develop in something more?" (Source: AJ at MyDramaList)

Lighthearted funny stressless romcom

Life is too short for stressful drama. Why spend all that time watching and be stressed? Don’t our lives already provide enough of that?

Summary of the series:
- Light hearted rom/com; series had great flow, no stress watching it
- cute romance
- simpatico characters
- like a little bit of mystery mixed in there with the brothers and kidnapping
- no villains really, no long struggles, calamity or miscommunications to cause more drama and stress
- they try to add more drama 2nd to the last episode hence I gave it a lower rating. Should have extending the ending to let the viewers enjoy they happiness more/ more gratifying.
- its a good story about different types of love/couples getting together

very fun joyful, stressless series: recommended to watch for sure

If you are looking for gratuitous stress/drama, frequent miscommunications, insipid side stories, then this is not for you.

Secretary Kim is an overall much lighter and more classically comedic drama than Link, but both have a childhood connection/mystery which is key to the storylines. Link is more of a dark comedy, but if you enjoyed one you might enjoy the other.
