Lady with an Iron Fist in a Velvet Gloves + Insanely Creative and Romantic Poems.
Above everything else, I wanna advise people to NEVER EVER let the previews stop you from watching this drama. I red through a lot of negative feedbacks and most of them drop it in the middle simply because they got tired of it or they don't like where the story is going. Where in fact, it's one of this production's unique way of getting the viewers attention and interest to keep watching it. Well... I have to admit that they did it severely to the point where it's already affecting the viewers mood but I assure you that this show is all "WORTH IT". So, hang in there!!!This drama started rough for me— The constant display of abuse, adultery, violence and male chauvinism made me sick all throughout to the point I regret even watching it; but as time passes by everything started making all sense— That every piece of it was created and set up for a greater purpose and it was presented that way to make the whole story more interesting and dramatic. I even thought to myself that it's really been a while since I last watched a heavily plotted drama like this. Something I used to watch growing up and I should say... it made me feel nostalgic and satisfied overall.
Also, there may be times (like a lot of them hahaha) where I felt like the FL is just so great for the ML and that she should end up with the 2nd ML but after a while you'll just realize its true moral and value— that Love is to persevere. that it is something you need to work hard on to achieve. and I really wanna commend every single person behind the scene who made this drama possible. The journey might have been real rough and tough but it all paid off beyond satisfaction at the end.
Another thing is the insane budget for this drama. I love how they shoot the scenes in the most appropriate locations and how it felt so authentic all of the time. It even made me wanna visit Myanmar to enjoy the sceneries and the buddhist temples to peacefully pray and appreciate the religion and culture.
One last thing... I may not be that happy with the outcome of the LGBTQ relationships in this story but I should say that I'm satisfied. Kao Fang X Kang getting a happy ending while Not and Chet arriving on a healthy friendship even after the confession and rejection. Also, I will miss the Thien-Beer-Toon-Not & Muey-Tum-Pob-Kang Combi. They all made this drama extra fun, lively and colorful.
P.S. Everyone should brace themselves for the FLs character progression. She's a real BOMB. A person you shouldn't mess with. Someone who ruined the clichė weak-stupid-clumsy female character we all got used to. She shattered my expectation yet fed my fantasies and interests.
Story - 9.5, I finished the entire drama before I finally decide with this rating so I assure everyone that it's all worth it. It is a heavy plotted story that will surprise you with its twist and turns. It may appear disturbing, frustrating and irritating most of time but you must keep in mind that this is 'drama' afterall. So, I highly advise everyone to just sitback, relax, bear and finish the show. Hahaha!
Acting/Cast - 10, Excellent and Outstanding Actors and Actresses. God knows how satisfied I am with the castings and how I would never have anyone else act any of these characters aside from the original artists portraying them now. Mark is really good but Mew is on a calliber of her own. She deserves high praises for her flawless and solid acting ability.
Music - 10, It became the perfect instrument that made this show even more wonderful, enjoyable and dramatic. Every song blended naturally and I love how it accentuate the whole mood and feeling of the drama.
Rewatch Value - 10, Despite all the negative opinions I initially had with this show, I would still love to watch it again if given a chance to. This story taught me a lot. It inspires me so much and this will forever remain a memorable piece who gave me motivation and determination to pursue love the best and hardest way I possibly can.
Overall - 10, Well deserving! It may be a tough and frustrating rocky journey but it ended really well so it's all worth it. One thing I wanna say to anyone who may read this is to NEVER give in to your own disappointments and disheartenment while watching this drama. Just keep on pushing forward and you'll probably understand how I came up with this ratings. Susu na!!

Lovely love story ❤❤❤
I'm just finished watching, and I was hooked.. I finished all episodes in 2 days 🤣This is my 1st Thai drama.. I have been watching lots of Kdrama and Cdrama, and I would say it's one of the best I've ever seen..
I can't stop laughing and crying, be ready with a pack of tissue.. The main leads has really great chemistry, as well as the other cast.. You can really feel how they love each other and it made your heart fluttered.
There were some plot holes in the story, but overall it's a great drama. Sometimes I got frustated with the male lead, but I really like that he is really developing his feeling towards the female lead..
Really recommended if you are looking for love story which can move your heart...

I didn't expect I'd fall in love with this drama
I first started watching because of the intriguing title. they did a great job inviting viewers from just the title. I finally watched after letting the drama sit on my to watch list for some time.story wise, the earlier and latter parts are the most boring for me, I think it started off okay, until we see moei being a "spy" and hacking into the company's system. I was hoping to see more of a love-hate relationship between moei and tian. but we got some office fight instead.
luckily it passed, and it became watchable again. I really felt bad for moei when she found out about tian's confession that he'd never love her no matter what. my heart hurts. but then they became "friends" and that's when all the uwu stuff starts happening.
although they kept pushing and pulling, this was my favorite part of the drama. I think the peak was when they went to myanmar. they got together quite late though, if I must say. and both got hurt along the way, but that's what makes the emotions build up for the moment of confession.
the ending was awful tbh. I couldn't accept the fact that they broke up so soon. and the fact that moei was pregnant and hid it away from tian made me tired. it felt like another drama already. they should've cut down this part and just ended the drama with the main couple meet again after some time being apart. maybe it wouldn't be as bad.
anyway, i enjoyed this drama, but i definitely wouldn't rewatch this.
mark prin's acting is good tho. I fell in love with him sure enough. and I'm open to his other projects too.

Best romantic comedy chemistry since Ken and Anne
I’ve watched quite a bit of Thai movies/drama but I have to seriously say that this is the best drama I’ve watched in a long long time sine Ann & Ken from back in the days. Recently, I became a huge fan of Prin & Yaya after watching Kleun Cheewit and was hoping to see the two play in another drama but now I’m a huge fan of Prin & Mew in My husband in law. The chemistry between the lead role was absolutely surreal and it had me laughing laughing, crying and smiling from beginning to the end...a must watch!!Was this review helpful to you?
Great chemistry between the lead couple.
I’d really enjoy watching this lakorn and love the storyline. I know a lot of people probably think Thien is very cruel, selfish and the biggest jerk. But Mark portraying the character so well that it made it really hard to hate Thien. Mew is really cute and pretty in this lakorn. She made Muei as sweet and calculated person at the same time so easily. The on screen chemistry between them are AMAZING when they are in the same room you can see it pull them together without even trying. Was this review helpful to you?
It’s the usual hate to love relationships
First time reviewing to lakorn even though have been watching quite a few of lakorn. I don’t know why but lakorn make the best from hate to love relationship !Digging into Mark Prin drama and I found this, I like Mark Prin the most from Thai actor ! And I think that he really suit this kind of genre too! I watch a lot this kind of lakorn, and I think that Mark Prin and James Jirayu suit the best, yeah first because the visual and the mean character they have is just so great !
And actually this is my second time watching this drama, really enjoying it, you’re not gonna waste your time, but you can skip some part that’s irrelevant
If you’ve been watching quite a few lakorn then you’ll agree with the music and sound effect that they have, it’s just so dramatic, sometimes i thought that big things gonna happend.. duhhh.. yeah i think this is just the lakorn thing

YEY HAPPY ENDING
Like at first I thought this drama would be lighweight, but its very sad towards the end. I really love Mark Prin Covered Ost in this drama, I would never skip the song. But I skip almost everyone part except the lead couple. The affair couple they are good looking but, I skipp most of it, and all the other couple too.
If they be focusing on the lead couple it might can cut 5 episodes hahaha.
But overall the drama is good, but if I can compare BAD MARIO is better cause I did not skip anything.
You guys should watch it cause the couple is cute, the ost is good.

so my husband in law is about meoi and tien who are lowkey childhood friends and a life threatening situation has brought them together to be a married couple. throughout the drama we see them growing as people and starting to love themselves and the people surrounding them.
meoi was such a loveable character i can tattoo her smile on my forehead it was so magical ugh. she sacrificed a lot for tien (given she had a crush on him) and even if she comes off as stupid at first she js quite witty and intelligent. i love her sm. i love how she was portrayed as such a perfect character from the beginning but as the story went on we realised even perfect characters need improvement. meoi went from caring only about tien to caring about herself and love herself more
tien on the other hand was a bratty player who got himself into a life threatening situation and refused to quit acting like a child until he got abandoned lmao. tien had great character development. he went from caring only about himself to everyone around her and especially meoi who sacrificed half of her life for him. match made in heaven fr
the friends are absolute baes ugh i love all of them.
this drama was perfect and other than the second hand embarassments and aome cringe scenes i loved it sm. thai lakorn >>

Actually self aware and better than expected
I was expecting this drama to go on a way that I would be disappointed but this is actually so much better than expected. I chanced upon this Thai drama in Netflix, and I had no high hopes for it. I watched it because I'm a big fan of the unrequited-love and fake-marriage trope. When those tropes came into play, you always know how the story is gonna unfold. The most important aspect of this show is really their characters. There are very stereotypical characters on this show. At least at first. You got Tien who's a womanizer, narcissistic bully, and an asshole. And you got Muey who's selfless, caring, and actually in love with Tien for the longest time. Classic character tropes, right? What this lakorn does different is develop this characters over time, not for them to turn 180 on their personality, but to add more depth to them.
First of all, Muey is actually resourceful and cunning if she wants to. You would think she is head over heels and love-driven towards the male lead (ML), right? She IS that, but she is also smart, cunning, daring, patient, career-driven, and compassionate. She is so much more than her love for the ML, and I feel that. I like how she can go against the ML when it comes to things she really care about, like her job and her love. I love how you can also see her loving herself more and more as the story progresses. She didn't fully went down the lovesick ride, she came to knew her limit, and had the sense to remove herself from ML's life. Because she knew it was becoming toxic and she was sacrificing too much for this guy that doesn't even love her, as far as she knew. She's not blinded by her love, but rather she is pragmatic on where she stands on ML's life.
And ML, Tien is just about what you expect when I said he's a womanizer, narcissistic bully, and an asshole. I really downright hated his character on the first half of this series. He's the complete opposite of the selfless Muey. He was used to thinking little of women because he can have them all, and he just bullies Muey so hard that it's unreasonable. I knew the story would let him get away with it in the end. For the first half, I was just holding on to the expectation that he will eventually fall in love with FL and regret his actions towards her and he will chase her. That's what actually happened BUT they treated that plot point with more care. I didn't even expect to be moved on his expected repentance, because men apologizing in stories like this are lowkey manipulative. I was expecting to hate it because Muey has done so much for him already that he can't just repent and say sorry. He needs to grovel. AND THAT'S WHAT THEY DID WITH HIM HALLELUJAH!! They actually held him accountable for his shortcomings! Muey deadass told him he doesn't know her. It's just her who knows him. She actually told him that he didn't care for her, he didn't even know her birthday for god's sake. Love the way he cried when Muey listed off things she knew about him that he didn't know about her, and the way she said he was so concerned on paying her alimony that he was willing to make her drunk. She didn't even have to shout these things, she just gently reminded him like he's a petulant man. It's like slapping his face kindly lmao. Also I absolutely love his Mom. She tried her best with him, set him up with the perfect girl, was rightfully angry at her son for hurting said girl, and lets him grovel as he deserves to. And she's always available for him. I just love the process of him repenting (even though it only took like two episodes) and trying to get back on his feet after giving up Muey. He apologized to Muey's mom for not taking care of her daughter properly, and asked her mom to know more about her. Also, damn when he found out Muey was pregnant. We can see that he still feels entitled when it comes to Muey but after some talk down with his mom, he respected her decision to stay away, and secretly did things for her and didn't even ask for recognition. He's just contented knowing she stays safe and free. He literally became so selfless for her and their family. The growth from being childish entitled brat to selfless family man is amazing and so well-acted.
Overall, if you want characters who literally grows physically, emotionally, and mentally (story literally spanned from high school to them being married) to a better version of themselves, then this show is for you. Despite the overdone tropes, this story did their best to portray the two main characters and the story of their love. I recommend to try giving this a watch.

"My Husband in Law": A Heartwarming Blend of Comedy, Romance, and Drama
Introduction:"My Husband in Law" is a Thai drama that effortlessly blends comedy, romance, and drama, presenting a familiar yet engaging storyline. The plot revolves around a simple girl who falls in love with a boy who initially doesn't reciprocate her feelings, echoing themes seen in classic Chinese dramas like "It Started with a Kiss" and "They Kiss Again." However, this Thai version stands out with a smarter, academically inclined female lead, offering a refreshing take on the classic romantic trope.
Plot and Characters:
The storyline follows a somewhat clichéd path, reminiscent of the popular Chinese dramas mentioned earlier. Despite its predictability, the drama excels in portraying puppy love as a trend, and the character Muey, though seemingly cliché, comes off as adorable rather than annoying. The simplicity of the plot doesn't hinder the overall enjoyment, making it a lighthearted and worthwhile watch.
Acting and Chemistry:
Mark Prin, known for his previous works, delivers a commendable performance as the male lead, portraying a character with a cold demeanor and insulting words. However, the character's depth is evident as he makes efforts to be forgiven by the female lead. Mew Nitha, in her performance, shines as the female lead, showcasing believability in emotional scenes. The chemistry between the two leads is palpable, leaving a lasting impression that makes it difficult to imagine them with different partners.
Overall Recommendation:
While the plot may not be as complex as some other dramas, "My Husband in Law" is undeniably worth your time. The drama strikes a balance between humor, romance, and drama, and the characters, though rooted in familiar archetypes, manage to bring a fresh perspective to the storyline. Muey's clinginess is portrayed in an endearing light, and the male lead's journey toward redemption adds complexity to his character, making him more relatable than irredeemable protagonist in other series. In conclusion, "My Husband in Law" is a recommended watch for those seeking a heartwarming and enjoyable romantic drama.
