It was a solid Bl until the writer's decided to kill off Yu Xi Gu! It was one of those moments that you wonder why tf did we go through soo mutch just for him to die in the end. It did piss me off like most other people! Over all it's a good BL i would recomend it maybe just skip ep20 unless you wanna go through a shity ending! I would just recomend you watching and making your own conclusionof what you think! Was this review helpful to you?

Beautifully Tragic (I haven't cried this hard in a long time...)
Honestly, I don't know how to feel about this title overall.I absolutely loved the acting, the beautiful relationship cultivated by Yu Xi Gu and Xiang Hao Ting. You could feel the chemistry between them, especially in the steamier scenes. I've seen some people didn't like how many "sex scenes" there were, but I thought that all of them were perfectly done (with the right amount of skinship and lust) and all served a plot purpose/to push the story forward.
The kisses between the two ML are so passionate and, I know I keep using this word, beautiful. They reminded me of what it is like to be so in love with someone at the beginning of your relationship, when everything is new and you are just exploring each other. It reminded me of being 17 and the energy and passion of being young (which I am saying now as a 22 year old woman who is soon to marry her high-school sweetheart of 5 years). The pure lust that XHT repeatedly showed for YXG also just reminded me of my boyfriend, now fiancee, back when we were teenagers. This is all to say that for anyone who has ever been so deeply in love with another person, regardless of gender or sexuality, it is so extremely easy to feel nostalgic about the excitement of being with that person.
******Warning: Major Spoilers Ahead**********
I think the aformentioned reasons are why this ending hit me so hard. I like to read reviews before watching a show, and although I typically don't like to spoil things for myself, I was worried when the reviews said that the ending was awful and so to protect my sanity I read on. So I went into the second half of the series knowing that YXG was going to pass away--- and I do think that for me, that made it easier to deal with. But on the other hand, I am, too, so angry at the writer for not giving XHT and YXG a happy ending. I understand that "life" isn't always perfect, but YXG deserved much much better than being killed off at 18 before he had a chance to really live the life he deserved.
This ending made me reflect on my own life, and I cried extremely hard for YXG but also for XHT who was left behind. I'd like to think that my own love story is of the same caliber as YXG x XHT (in the sense of I also have a beautiful relationship with someone who is my whole world, who makes me so giddy and happy and who is so good to me). That being said, I cannot imagine losing my person, and so this turn of events greatly hurt my heart.
I'm hoping that one day I can think about this series and not want to bawl my eyes out. I also hope that one day we get an alternate ending for our MLs because there is absolutely a universe out there somewhere in which YXG and XHT love each other and stay together until they both pass of old age.
Overall, 9/10 for a 10/10 series with a -1/10 ending. For now, I am conflicted and I don't know if I love or hate this series. I do know that it was beautifully done and that I will always remember and carry this story with me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go cry in the shower some more and contemplate the meaning of life and what it means to love someone.

MUST WATCH
For my first BL drama, it's set the standard high. I don't know what I expected from this show BUT NOT THIS!The pacing is perfect, nothing moves too quickly or too slowly. The story is your typical high school romance - but it uses it so well. It deals with the uncertainty of life after school, money, food and also unaccepting parents.
Main couple:
Their romance is so legit. At first, I was unsure how realistic it would feel as Hao Ting was basically a stalker, but it progressed naturally. The plot where they have to wait to be together is AMAZING! When they are together, the show touches on real-life issues like lack of communication and homophobic parents. And they handle it perfectly.
Secondary couple:
This couple feels more like you're typical TV 'perfect' couple. I love their subplot at the start, it makes their romance even more satisfying. Their relationship is legit and real and I love it.
Intimate scenes:
I gotta say, I am inexperienced in this field, however, they do feel real. You don't see anything, but you know it's happening.
Ending:
Sorry, but the ending is unsatisfying. You will be confused at the last episode and you will not accept the fact that the show ended like that. But think on the bright side, a new season with an alternate ending might be coming!
Basically, this show is perfect.

the most angsty HIStory ever
I watch this series back in 2019 and the story was so beautiful. even though haoting was a freakin jerk in the beginning of the series, but I love him when he simps over xigu. I love how they made xigu being a smart, shy, and cool guy that excels in school, but they made him too pitiful. I cried the whole series seeing xigu works so hard but still be bugged by everyone. But at the end of the series I HATE HOW THEY RUINED HAOTING AND XIGU HAPPINESS BY A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT? WTF?? I remember being so fckin frustrated by this. It would be great if the main couple had another main series...anw it's still of of the best HIStory ever, I would recommend it if you want something angsty.

The bully who falls in love with the bullied isn't new but it still worked for this series. The progression was done great and the balance between the two main couples was also good.
Wayne's acting was astonishing that I believed every word he said and every emotions he conjured. Don't get me wrong Huang is also a good actor but I was more impressed with Wayne.
A highly recommended BL series.

I loved this BL
Make Our Days Count was a rather good BL. I liked both the main couple and side couples story's. I know a lot of people like this one because Yu Xigu dies, but I liked the relationship building up to where it was. How Yu Xigu talks about his parents and openings up and how Hoating never gives up till he eventually wins him over. Then just as there relationship gets really good, Yu Xigu dies. I think they did a very good job at expressing how devastated Hoating was by his death, and it made my cry.I also liked the side couple, and how there relationship went from becoming friends to lovers. They did a good job at portraying them.
I would re-watch this multiple times and would recommend it.

Excellent Screenplay and Direction that Exacts Solid Performances
I was especially impressed by Shao Hui Ting's screenwriting, Tsai Mi Chieh's direction, and Wayne Song's performance as Xiang Hao Ting. The arc of Song's performance is truly impressive as he undergoes three significant transformations from an immature student who disrespects authority at home and at school to a confused and then infatuated adolescent trying to understand and accept his first and only crush on another guy to more studious and empathetic individual impacted by his nascent relationship with his crush, an academically superior student, to a more mature university graduate still mourning the loss of the love of his life four years earlier. It's clear to me now from the title, references to "loving someone forever," and the orphaned Yu Xi Gu (beautifully played by Huang Juan Zhi) whose aunt tells him as a child that his late parents are in the heavens exploring the stars, speaking to them as he gazes at the night sky, that eternal love may include the loss of one's beloved. The imagery, especially the twice and judicious use of light bulbs reminiscent of stars, helps underscore the notion that those who die dwell among the stars in the night sky. TIng's screenplay, and especially the slow of exposition of Yu Xi Gu's death during the nineteenth chapter, is beautifully crafted. Chieh's direction of Song's performance was especially evident in the last two chapters. I know there are those who bemoan sad endings in BL dramas. Truth be told, I prefer happy endings except when the story makes sense with a sad ending. Indeed, life is not always happy endings. I did not watch this series through the end last year and I am happy I went back and watched the whole thing from the beginning. Watch it and latch on to the performances of the four leads. Was this review helpful to you?

Beautiful but devastating
This is one of my favorite bl dramas.I love almost all the History dramas, and this is no exception. It's a beautiful story.
They address multiple things that I find necessary in a bl.
The story starts out as any other bl, they slowly fall in love and are happy together. Until the homophobic parents come along, which causes them to have a conflict. But the way they dealt with it was beautiful to me. They were happy together, but then the accident happened.
That last episode had me crying the entire time. The scene where he was running home, omg. I hope that whole episode was just a bad dream. I hope there will be a second season where they are still together and live happily ever after.
The side couple was also very much to my liking. Even though there was quite the age difference, they still really loved each other. I'm very happy that they had a happy ever after.
I really recommend this bl, but I do have to warn you about the fact that it's devastating.

I rated a 3 in the storyline just because of the ending. I literally cried as if I was the one that lost someone special. For what the storyline had build up towards, I was really hoping for a better future for them both. But by reading the title, I should have known why they had to make their days count. And somehow this story had made me count each and every interaction they had together as something valuable. And I did. I was so immersed with all of the characters that I forgot why I was careful in the first place.
This series is worth to see how Xiang Hao Ting and Yu Xi Gu fall in love. They really did steal my heart. Hao Ting's willingness to love Xi Gu really made me envy the both of them. And it got more overwhelming for me when Xi Gu loved him back.
But if you want to keep a happy ending of them in your mind, by the time you reach episode 17/ episode 10 (depends on which source you are looking from) just stop after the sweet moment they had outside their rented house. That's an end that I would have loved better. There's a short scene between Zhi Gang and Sun Bo after that (if you want to stop there instead).
Just yeet yourselves out of the scene when they started cooking together. That's the only warning I have.

The relationship development of both couples was enjoyable to watch and the actors playing the group of friends did well as both adding comedic value and in showing the genuine care and worry friends have for each other.
I especially liked the mix of actors who use exaggerated facial expressions and reactions with actors that manipulate the very small details of slight emotions in their eyes which show the hidden depth of their characters.
The overall quality of the production is also good and music is not bad just not memorable.
Overall, it is good throughout. The characters are the right amount of quirky to still be taken seriously but to also work well as mood lighteners and the acting of all the characters is very good. The only real downside for me is the ending.

pretty good.
i really liked this show until the ending. i specifically skipped the last episode cause i knew what was gunna happen. it really his me with the fact that Yu Xi Gu was/ha died. the last episode showing all of Xiang's emotions and how it effected him. it was so sad. im not the kind of person to like stories with sad ending, but, its okay. the overall storyline was good. the acting overall was pretty good as well. the spicy scene ( hehe ) was pretty much my favorite part of the whole thing. it might have been a little watered down with the facial expressions but i still enjoyed it. out of all of the bl series'/shows i've watched, i think this one of the only ones i will not rewatch. Was this review helpful to you?
