Mediocre story with quite suffocating and hypocritical characters
I'm giving 6 stars only for the outstanding acting, especially of the FL and Han Kefei but the rest was so burdening, toxic and suffocating, it was sometimes hard for me to keep watching it from episode 5 till the end. I had the feeling that there is no sane person in this whole drama. First, Gao Zi Yuan just had no limits. I understand that her character was probably supposed to be like that but after 3-4 hysterical episodes she was too much to watch and listen. Just get tf out of here, woman! Second, the story was repetitive. The drama was too obvious and too monotonous. The same things kept happening, the same problems occurring. For a person who kissed another dude several times Weiwei was quite hypocritical to be mad at her boyfriend for putting his hand around his boss's shoulders and play the victim. Exactly why are u mad at him when you are the one at fault? Portraying cheating as something natural and normal when you're "feeling lonely" was a total no-no for me. First, this shows the lack of love and respect in the first place. No one cheats out of loneliness if they love their partner. She looked intrigued enough even before the problems between her and her boyfriend began so, hey guurl, I see what you're doing. The story, on the other hand, covers a lot of important problems and aspects of human relationships which are really important and they should have been focused way more on that. Although the main line was shown through Weiwei's relationship and Gao Zi Yuan's character there was a huge lack for me in the story and that was the fact that till the very last moment Weiwei did not apologise sincerely to Hao Yi for cheating multiple times and for lying to him while he was working. Throwing randomly the "sorry" word does no good, not even in real life. I believe that when you cover such important matters in relationships taking responsibility for your actions and apologising to the people you've hurt the most is crucial. She did not do that while she actually kept playing the victim and despite her brilliant acting, her character was the least appealing to me. I couldn't even sympathize with her. I'm sorry I couldn't see more of Han Kefei, they should have focused a bit more on her side of the story but I'm glad that Chu Kehuan's character was well developed and explained. The OST was quite good. I'm glad this was 13 episodes. I don't think I would have been able to keep watching more of it.

Roller coaster ride but the story made sense to me. There were moments it felt unrealistic to have two alphas practically destroying their careers for a woman, that's why I rated the plot as 8, but I'm willing to make concessions bec this is a drama. I get it, some exaggerations may be called for to get emotions across. But overall, I like how the characters stayed consistent to their "character" despite going thru several subplots of office conflicts.
*spoilers ahead*
WeiWei was someone who takes time before making decisions, but once she does she sticks to it. No going back. And she stayed that way til the very end
Haoyi was always a selfish person, even during their most loving moments. He only ever saw his dreams, his plans. And even during the breakup, he only saw his pain. To some viewers I guess it looked his a convenient excuse for the plot development, but I disagree bec I know there really are people who are like this.
And Kehuan, persistent and goal oriented in life, I understand how it would nsturally translate to his love life. It was more unnatural to me actually that he stuck to a dead relationship for a long time. I would have thought with his personality he would be one to move on swiftly and "cut losses".
I also like how WeiWei gave herself - and Kehuan too - time to heal and move on and grow before getting in a new relationship, despite acknowledging their mutual attraction.
****end of spoilers****
Loved this drama and am planning to rewatch soon. There are many lessons here, especially for those in long term relationships to not take your partner for granted and to listen closely to whatever they tell you. Maybe they are already telling you they are unhappy but you just don't hear it.

What a letdown!
This show was well-acted, and there was really a lot going on, but I didn't find the relationships believable. You've been with a guy for years, but suddenly have an interest in someone else, but then you're kind of "meh" about him as well. Maybe I was most disappointed in this show because it was more of a "discovery of who I am as a person" compared with a romance. The last episode had a tastefully and beautifully filmed scene with the main leads, but the ending was so bland I really didn't feel that they would have a future together. Or maybe they would, but by this time I just didn't care. Was this review helpful to you?

Mature, Real and Relatable
To find this jewel was a joy. Staring out, you would think the connections and 'entanglement' would be obvious. The way the writers highlighted the things that people endure and sometimes commit to out of obligation and manipulation was very prevalent for both the ML and FL. The tension and chemistry between the leads was endearing and sexy. What happens when a partner makes all the decisions that can affect your life without discussion, and you accommodate it without recourse? This drama addresses this in spades. The 'fluff' was not needed nor used in this drama. There were a few scenes that are a bit too much or not needed within the office. Yet, overall cast and crew did very well in weaving relatable personal and business relationships. So happy that the ending wasn't typical but realistic when dealing with mature individuals. The ending basically screamed..."If what we feel is true, it will be. But let us both heal first." Bravo! Must Watch! Was this review helpful to you?

HOT HOT HOT
Man this drama was sooo steamy I binged watched it in one day. I absolutely love Jasper Lui (for one) but also his chemistry with Puff Guo was amazing. I found his character a bit annoying at first because she was definitely not interested in the beginning and he was still catering to his girlfriend who cared more about status than her relationship with him. I did feel bad for their partners though, even though you find out why Jasper's character became so distant later and it was a very good reason. However, again, this show is about infidelity. It doesn't glorify it per se but if you're a person who feels strongly cheating is wrong regardless you'll not like this drama at all. The main guy doesn't even care she has a fiance nor that he's still in a relationship that he's being guilted into.Great watch regardless though!

FIRE!! Someone Call 911 !
I just completed Before We Get Married and truly enjoyed watching this 13 episodes drama. I found every episode captivating in itself. The main cast of four, comprising of Jasper Liu as Chu Ke Huan, Puff Kuo as Zhou Wei Wei, Steven Sun as Li Hao Yi and Nita Lei as Gao Zi Yuan, did an excellent job in taking us through their complicated relationship transition.
Directing and storyline almost flawless. And one must also give recognition to Phoebe Yuan who played Wei Wei's best friend Han Ke Fei, who was a delight to watch, a hardcore BFF who will stop at nothing to care and protect her best friend. I could not help but think of Samantha from 'Sex In The City' when I see Han Ke Fei.
As for the story, we see Couple A - Chu Ke Huan. A good looking, confident man, financially and emotionally prepared for love, unfortunately is in a fading 10 year relationship with Gao Zi Yuan. Whilst Couple B - has Li Hao Yi, a good looking (a little clueless when it comes to love) man, struggling financially and emotionally with his girlfriend Zhou Wei Wei of 3 years.
Then one fine day, Ke Huan meets Wei Wei and through a series of incidents, he falls for her hard, almost immediately. He pursues her unabashedly and relentlessly. In return, like a 'moth to a flame' Wei Wei is drawn to Ke Huan but tries hard not to acknowledge nor accept the fact. Hence, the dance begins. Both with still on-going relationships, which to me had it's challenges but was not beyond repair. But I guess (sigh....), life just happens. It is what it is when it comes to matters of the heart.
I found that the drama was intelligent, realistic and mature with it's approach to love. I liked all four characters and all the faults that came with them. Accepting that there is no right or wrong when it comes to love. The physical and kissing scenes were natural to watch and done tastefully. I laughed, giggled, cried and all other emotions kicked in whilst watching this drama, seeing how the two couples intertwined, evolved and transition in their relationships.
Everything started with a spark, then a flame, then everything was on FIRE! (hahaha)

for those of you who feel uncomfortable with the cheating plot line I'm sorry but you really should pull through for this drama. I was unsure at first but the chemistry between the main leads is incredible along with the male leads character because while i know what he's doing is wrong the character is extremely charming. so props to the actor and writers.
It'll have you hooked. My only complaint is that it was too short. I wish there had been more episodes to let everything at the end marinate a bit more but other than that very enjoyable.

great acting
I started watching for Jasper Liu, but stayed for the acting of the entire cast.Throughout the show, I couldn't stop cursing the male lead, and I was really happy every time he chased the female lead and she firmly rejected him. I think the ending was very satisfying. They needed to find themselves before starting a relationship that had hurt so many people. The only disappointment for me was the romantic subplot involving the female lead's friend. I thought she would end up with the male lead's subordinate, but suddenly he disappeared from the story and was replaced by another character. It would have been satisfying to see the female lead's friend suffer a bit while chasing love.
