Drama is cool!

Drama is very amazing!
I watched it in one night!
I'm really in love with this drama!
I always love to watch chinese historicial dramas because actors are very cute, handsome and also the all episodes are very powerful!
1. Story- The story itself is not very bad, it has its twists and turns. But the execution of the storyline is very poor. It has a very promising start, very interesting till episode 20 or 30 but it suddenly went downhill. Some episodes contain no proper message and they are there just for the sake of dragging the story.
2. Acting & Chemistry- The casts are not bad but not very outstandingly impressive either. You can see many bad comments about Cheng Xiao , I’d say I like Cheng Xiao as an actress, the acting is not that mediocre but her character in the story is not very likeable.
The main problem is the lack of chemistry. Chemistry between (Lu Ping) Chen Feiyu and (Qin Sang) Cheng Xiao? No.
Chemistry between Xifan and Ling ZiYan? No
I couldn’t feel any emotional love between these two pairs. Su Tang and Mo Lin are not bad tho.
3.Who is the real villain?
It is where the twist failed. I can understand ,the director wanted to surprise us by telling us that the villain is not who we guessed before, but it failed. It failed to the point that I lost focus. One villain killed ML’s parents and another villain is gonna destroy the world, who should ML choose? Just suicide lol
4.Character-in- depth
Su Tang, portrayed as ML’s younger sister, lacks character background. We don’t know who she is or where she comes from, I thought the Director is going to surprise as by telling us that her parents are someone powerful? But, no.
5.Music
The songs are very good.
6. Overall
I fast forwarded a lot of scenes for the sake of completing it. It was a disappointment since it could have been done much better. I kinda regret that I wasted my whole month for this drama.

It's worth watching!

STORY
A pleasant story, exposed very well and easy to follow. Towards the end it broke my heart a little, but for the sake of art I overlook.
ACTORS
I don't have any criticism. As with all the shows I've seen up to this point, actors have been chosen very well and played very well.
VISUAL
Nothing to comment on. The effects were as good as they should be and qualitative. The environment created was pleasant.

I don't re-watch movies/tv shows, but I gave it a 9. I think this show deserves a higher score. I'm sure.

I don't agree with the message of the story..

The strong message of the story is that you can do anything you want in the guise of the big picture. You can kill, cheat, lie and betray anyone and everyone, even your own family and loved ones.

At first, it was the typical story of young students searching for some kind of justice. Their adventures and misadventures resulted to good friendships and finding true love.

The plot of the story was really convoluted with lots of surprising twist and turns. The writers weren't even afraid of killing main characters.

Acting wise, I think actors in supporting roles was way better than the main characters. The romance level of this is one is a bit mediocre. I think its an OK show. Did I finish it? -yes. Did it made me laugh or cry? -no. Would I re watch it? -maybe not.

Good Drama

I think the story is good. It gets better with Cheng Xiao's natural beauty and Chen Feiyu's charisma. The couple chemistry is nice. All the supporting roles did well. Their acting is pretty good too. You won't regret it if you watch it.

Spoiler: Something very sad will happen before the last two episodes in the series. You will feel sad for Qin Sang. I cried because Qin Sang is my favourite character.
Also the maid in the show is so annoying. I hated her. You'll understand why I said that.

Not found interesting

starting song is amazing and with the song the way the drama introduced each important character of the drama increase interest it feels like the story is somewhat can related with harry potter movie, like taking about the six sense and what is all about the six senses and each sense contain a power. each character indirect introduced their strength but in whole drama their sense (power) are not seen clearly . it is look like that with the first lead they also looking for their sense to become more powerful. length of the drama reduced the connectivity with the story. i don't like the part when first female lead die .I think this also one of the reason I don't like the story. what I like the most his sister and her love story.

One important reality...

I'll just cut to the chase...I could watch 100 episodes of
Cheng Xiao and be smiling the entire time. While some have
commented on her stoic nature in this, one need only look to the Brother who
raised her to see why the writers might suggest the persona she took.

The lead actor was akin to luke warm soup....You can heat it up but
it loses its temperature fast.

Mo Lin character and his never failing love takes the prize , for me, that became
very interesting. Overall I enjoyed it, it was fun and well done on many fronts.
Oh yes, and then there is Cheng Xiao... :)

I don't understand why Arthur Chen chose this TV series instead of EverNight S2! The storyline is floating, the script is very poor, and the player's performance is very sloppy! Including battle scenes is terrible! I watched episode 24, but Lu Ping's cultivation is still weak! His weaknesses are very consistent! LOL

There is no chemistry between Arthur and Cheng Xiao, which is often boring. But I still watch this drama because of Arthur's handsomeness. Since watching "Ever Night", I have been fascinated by him! Hehehheh

This has been the longest time I had for me to watch a Chinese Drama, only because of waiting for subtitles. So I will have to rewatch but at a later date.

Arthur Chen who played Lu Ping was totally and fantastically awesome! There is such a coolness about his acting. Cheng Xiao who played Qin Sang was a great match for Arthur Chen's character. I just wished... well... if I say it... I'll give it away. I loved the four friendships made but wished more for the ending of this drama. This actor, Gardner Tse, made this story work, I loved his charisma! He should've been part of the main leads. I loved the visuals of the fight scenes, the costumes, the sceneries of schools, etc... I can't get the music out of my head. This is a good watch for sure. Thanking all the actors, this was great! Thanking the writer, producers, directors, music, costumes, and visual teams.

So I never watched Ever Night but I heard Arthur Chen raised in popularity because of it. He's not hard on the eyes and I do love his mature voice. Still, I struggle with this series. I will continue to watch it but it's not really giving me the "ooo" must watch more than 2 episodes a day kinda thing. Every praises Arthur Chen in his performance in Ever Night so I'm still looking to see what magic he has in this series. So far, it's mediocre. At times it's been a bit interesting when there is more of an adventure going on but then it stalls and I sink back down when it's dialogue after dialogue and wondering, where are we going with this. 14 episodes in and I'm not sure what really all happened during that time. Felt like aside from a competition- which barely was one, the story hasn't moved very much.

Is this drama worth watching ? Definitely nof if you like deep thrilling love stories or real good martial arts fights and values. Still, it's worth watching if you are Arthur Chen or Dylan Xiong's fan or if you go for brotherhood stories with Wuxia background.
What is really disappointing in this drama is wuxia itself. We have in here something that is quite opposite to wuxia and martial arts world's values. Aren't martial artists cultivating all life through to become masters and wise people with good intentions and aims (when they don't follow an evil path) ? Has cultivation anything to do with blood specificity ? We are in this story in a confused storyline where the hero (Lu Ping, the awakening guy) is born with 6 inner QI. Only every 1000 years you will have such a prodigal child ! So you have a baby developping innate martial strength ... but such a power is meant to kill him. So what do you think his parents, who are astonishing martial heroes themselves are going to do ? They will seal his powers... in order to keep him safe ?...instead of helping him to cultivate, develop and master his innate gifted powers. With such a fate, Lu Ping will have his parents killed, no childhood, noone to protect him. When baby, this genius is kidnapped by an evil sect (Shanhai) that is just interested in his blood to make experiments in order to grow powerful soldiers and rule the world ! In Shanhai, Lu Ping is imprisoned in a cage and he is nothing else but a suffering laboratoy rat ! Is that a wuxia hero ? A Marvel hero? Everything but a hero ?
The story begins three years after Lu Ping and Su Tang escaped from Shanhai sect. They are training in an institute to become martial artists. Su Tang is considered as Lu Ping's sister, but she is not and we won't know anything about her background and why she was imprisoned in a cage just like Lu Ping. They shared the same childhood and their relationship is just like siblings who are keeping a secret... How funny they won't develop love feelings, or at least Lu Ping won't allow this to happen. Are we in a chinese drama ?
What is great in the storyline is how we get interested in these two characters. We want to know who they are and what is Lu Ping's secret ? Who is he ? We'll get the answer (quite disappointing) Who is she ? We will never know. Who cares ? She is not the hero in here !!! Very bad point, really, and this shows how the whole story has been built.
Now, we have brotherhood, 3 love couples, martial arts academy competitions, revenge that is not real revenge, revenge that will fail (bad luck for the vilain Prince of Dan/Shanhai Master) and later war plot for kingdom, blood transfusions, puppets, sacrifice and much more !
Honestly, the love storylines are rather rubbish or clichés. Lu Ping falls for Qin Sang and it's just ridiculous : how can a man who has suffered all his life and has no aristocratic values fall for an arrogant noble young lady ? Just because she is a martial artist ? Or because young noble girls are supposed to be very attractive even when they aren't ? We don't believe in this faked romance and there is too poor chemestry between the two actors ... We are granted
with the most awkward faked kiss in all c-drama history (ep #45) ! Great laughable moment ! The only couple who is interesting is Su Tang with Mo Lin, because Mo Lin is really in love and do his best to make Su Tang love and marry him. This couple is here to bring some comedy to the show and we like it. Both actors Ancy Deng and Jerry Yu are quite good, maybe this drama best actors with Hong-Konger Gwan Ho. I won't say anything about the third couple who is a real nonsens. By the way, who understands what this maid Ling Zyhan brings to the story ? Honestly, Xifan alone with no lover would have been so much better... authors could have enhenced his friendship and bromance with Lu Ping.
I'd better stop criticizing this drama, I have watched all of it. Surprisingly, never felt bored with the story progression, just annoyed with the storyline flaws and lack of chemestry between actors...

Nice interactions between Arthur Chen and Dylan Xiong

About Arthur Chen:
Without divulging anything else about the story, I can say that Lu Ping's journey was definitely a fun one to watch. As mentioned above, I absolutely adored his interactions and the friends he made along the way of his journey into awakening. With all the challenges he had to go through to break the chains that bind him literally as well as to find out the secrets of his birth or his real identity, one can understand his propensity for being a lone wolf.

About ChengXiao:
I applaud the fact that she has her own Chinese drama and is given the opportunity to spread her own wings. Considering that this is her first drama, one can actually see on screen that she does not have acting in the bag yet. Her beautiful round eyes still need a little bit more of an expression. Also, her costumes in the entire drama seemed ill-fitting. It looked to me like she was given one size too small. But then everyone else in the cast had the right size. In a lot of the scenes that involve her, I fast forwarded the episodes. The only ones that I could stand to watch were the scenes with Arthur Chen in it. To his credit, I did get the feels from him as a Lu Ping in love with this Qin Sang. Her acting does improve towards the end, though.

As a whole, I am satisfied with this show. I am also very satisfied with the way the ending was written. As powerful as Lu Ping was made out to be, he is still years behind all the people he took his revenge out on. His enemies had over two decades to cultivate and that is why I believe the ending made so much sense.

I don’t watch a lot of wuxia etc chinese dramas because I usually cringe at the special effects but so far the special effects in this one aren’t so bad. I like the story too it kind of reminds me of Avatar in a way (the cartoon one not the blue aliens lol) and I loveeeeee Chen Feiyu and Cheng Xiao!!! They’re both so attractive!! I get so distracted by their beauty lol I really like their chemistry although they do have a lot more chemistry in their bts vids, but either way they’re so cute together. So far I like it, it’s a good enough drama. I get bored very easily but I’m already 10 episodes in and not yet bored so you can say that’s a good thing.
