Everything about the series is perfect. It is the best BL series execution in 2019. Starting from the unique opening theme layout, excellent chemistry between Pete and Kao actors and the remaining characters. The masculinity of the characters is superb. Being gay should not be typecasted for being feminine. Beautiful actors and OSTs were perfectly chosen. Story line makes sense. Lying and over jealousy could ruin a relationship even the strong one. Family understanding was perfectly included in the story. Kudos to GMMTV. Perfect job!

Simple show with great protagonists, awesome parents, and problematic friends

The plot is very straightforward but relies on the villain's lies and the misunderstanding trope to move the plot. There aren't any stereotypes or caricatures. The moments between Kao and Pete are very sweet. The acting is pretty good. Non is a very convincing brat. Kudos to the actor. There's no awkwardness at all and no excessive use of slow-motion scenes. It's realistic in showing accepting parents (Pete's father and Kao's mother), the fear of coming out, how only the person coming out can decide when to come out, how more is expected of LGBTQ people as if to compensate for their sexualities. I also love that Sun asks Mork who's going to top and who's going to bottom tonight because most couples are versatile.

Now let's talk about an exclusively BL problem that never happens in books/shows/movies made by and for LGBTQ people: Pete refers to Kao as his wife, probably as a joke because he usually calls him his boyfriend. June, on the other hand, always calls Kao Pete's wife. Sandee, who I really liked until near the end, also called Kao the wife. Why? Because they perceive him as the bottom? If Kao had the time to express that gay people are expected to do more to compensate for their sexuality, why didn't he correct his friends? When will it change? Until same sex marriage is legal? Stop imposing your world views on us. All I can say is this show is already great but do better. Curiously, Sun's brother is the only one who used "husband" to refer to a gay man.

If I were to rewatch, I'd probably just watch the really sweet scenes between the two main couples.

This show has portrayed so many true to life situations of various struggles faced by certain people. For instance, the storyline of Non wherein he is mistreated by his father resulting to him being the nuisance of the show. Or how difficult it is for Kao to come out to his mother, and even his closest friends. Another thing i loved is how they portrayed the female characters. Usually, bls would paint women as the toxic and bad characters who get in the way of the main couple, but in this show, the female characters are level headed and mature, a breath of fresh air. The chemistry between TayNew is undeniably perfect, which is one of the reasons why i love this show so much. PoddFluke also gave so much into their characters, making me enjoy their characters storyline as well. In conclusion, this show is one of the best shows produced by the company and I encourage everyone to watch it

Very high quality BL series. I mean, have you seen its opening theme? Come on! Your BL series could never!

The production value and direction is of quality. Kudos to the crew.
Storytelling at its best. Script is very intelligent. Very relatable and realistic. Not at all cringy.
And the cast and their acting? It is waaaaaayyy up your typical BL series. Granted the cast are beautiful people as they are already, but they did not just rely on that (unlike a few geez). They could actually act and made me believe them.

Dark Blue Kiss did not hold back. Top of the pack, indeed. Highly highly recommended.

As you probably know, the main couple (Pete & Kao), received so much popularity from "Kiss the Series" and "Kiss Me Again", that they had their own series made! I suggest watching Kiss Me Again so you understand how Pete & Kao developed, along with Sun & Mork (other main couple) were introduced. Kiss the Series had Pete & Kao as minor characters but showed how their friend group formed.

The story was very dramatic, as you can guess from the title. The plot was interesting enough to invoke a lot of strong emotions, so if you are into BL shows that get your heart pumping, this is for you! I thought the conflicts each couple had were very believable and were not cheesy/cringey, unlike other dramas I have seen. There are a few plot twists that keep the show moving along, which prevented expected resolutions from the conflicts and made the show even more interesting. As dramatic as the show was, it had a good amount of comedy and romance. I personally love BL shows with comic relief and this show had plenty. I found that there could have been more romantic scenes with Pete & Kao/ Sun & Mork, but the show was mostly focused on the conflicts so I understand. Even with these few scenes, they were able to wrap so much raw emotion through acting and music! I was moved by every romantic scene because it all seemed so real. There are also many moments where the couples romantically tease each other, which I found to be a good laugh.

However, I did find a few things annoying. The issue with Pete and Kao's relationship could have been solved way faster if they both had communication. I thought it was really obvious, but the show wouldn't have been longer if they solved it fast. Some scenes were also a bit too dramatic, as I could see through the show trying too hard. Although, this show still delivers and is great to watch!

The actors and the production of the show were amazing as well! Usually, the supporting cast of BL shows are really bland and don't contribute to the show meaningfully. In DBK, the supporting cast showed a lot of emotion and energy, which made them not boring to watch. They really added flavor to the show with their acting. The cinematography and music were very well developed as well. The different styles of music during the romantic, dramatic, fighting, and comedic scenes really treated this show as a movie. Most BL shows I watched just have subpar productions, but DBK stood out by far. The camera angles also provided many different perspectives of the show, so your eyes "don't get bored". Overall, the production of DBK was made really well compared to other shows because it provided a unique view on love.

The #PeteKao couple has been going on for about 3 years, (since Kiss the Series), and they have developed into a couple that is one of my favorites in BL! The show also introduced me to Sun & Mork, which show a different couple with different conflicts. This couple also grabbed the attention of my heart because of their emotions and struggles. All in all, this show was great and was very special! I enjoyed the emotional roller coaster of the show and hope for a season 2!!

I thought that it was great. I waited every friday or saturday for the new episode, (Idk which one it was anymore) but overall it was a great series, altough sometimes i had to laugh at serious topics and cry at the same time, also if your'e like me then watch it because I had to scream while I watched it and I had to call someone names because he annoyed me so damn much i just can't with him-

I'm definetly gonna rewatch when I'm finished with the other series I want to watch first.

Dark Blue Kiss indeed!

This is my 2nd thai BL series after 2gether, and WOW.
I watched Dark Blue Kiss first before watching Kiss Me Again though. So if you want to know first where it all started, you should watch first Kiss Me Again Pete-Kao scenes. You can search it in youtube, thanks to GMMTV they compiled their scenes. hehehe.

Very intense intro. The chemistry is there. Series OST 100! The story is pretty good. The main actors and side actors/actresses are good. They delivered their character perfectly. Not gonna say much cause i want you to actually experience this series. YUP Experience the series hehehe.

I would highly recommend Dark Blue Kiss. Definitely on my top 10.

The series based on the Thai Novel which was composed of two stories : SunMork ( mostly) & PeteKao...In the series, the stories changed a bit...
But In both the novel & series, I love the storyline of SunMork part...

The storyline of SunMork is so attractive...That’s about how two people from dislike each other to understanding each other and finally fall in love with each other in step by step....
Both Podd Suphakorn Sriphothong ( who acted as P’ Sun ) and Fluke Gawin Caskey ( who acted as Mork ) ‘s acting are good & natural although both of them are the rookies....
The atmosphere, the background music, the editing of SunMork scenes are also wonderful...
The OST : #ต่อให้เป็นจูบสุดท้าย ( Even It Is a Last Kiss ) is a so beautiful song which sang by Fluke Gawin with his beautiful voice....
And this series is not only a BL love stories but there were also some “ messages “ from the director P’Aof to the audiences worth for us to think about it....

One bad comment is the thirdwheel part in PeteKao storyline was dragged which really affected the story ...

At last but not least...I think both PoddFluke are the potential actors ( Fluke would be a potential singer too ).... I hope GMMTV could promote PoddFluke more and also promote them as GMM official couple and there would be more projects together or even have their own series in the future ....
Dark Blue Kiss the series ( especially SunMork part ) is worth to watch ( even re-watch ) .... Don’t miss it !!!!

This is the first PeteKao series that I have watched so I had no idea how deep their relationship was prior to the events of DBS.

Story
The story has a simplistic plot -- 2 people in love and their relationship is being tested by a 3rd character. This made it very relatable as the characters experience trust issues and jealously. The subplot of Sun and Mork made the story even more endearing as it offers the usual Yaoi trope of a flirty seme and a flustered uke.

Acting
Non was extremely annoying and I think AJ Chayapol gave justice to this character. There were times that I had to pause the video because I just can't stand Non's sly tactics and Kao stupidity. Also, props to Pluem Pongpisal just for being too cute. ugh. lol

Music
The opening music is legit the best in Thai BL!

Rewatch Value
I would definitely watch this again, but I would have to make sure that I am mentally prepared for Pete and Kao's foolishness.

I had very high expectations and anticipation for this show. This is considering how much I loved PeteKao from Kiss Me Again & Our Sky, as well as how long I've waited for this show. Was it below expectations? Undoubtedly. But was it enjoying to watch? Yes.

The plot was the biggest issue with the whole series. In every story, there is a "problem" that creates a foundation for how the plot flows. In this case, the problem was simply just Kao continuing to teach Non when he said he wouldn't. This was weak/insufficient and made the PeteKao storyline fall flat.

SunMork, on the other hand, seemed very rushed. Despite my preference for PeteKao, I think the series would've been better if they cut out some PeteKao scenes and spent more time focusing and developing on SunMork. Their relationship felt rushed and I kind of lost interest towards the end.

However, there were many parts that I absolutely loved and enjoyed. There were a lot of heartwarming scenes and I liked how this show dealt with the actual difficulties of being gay and wanting acceptance. Not many BLs have done this and honestly, more should.

The production value was typical for GMMTV (Meaning it's a lot better than most BLs out there). The acting was good for the most part. It's obvious that TayNew's chemistry is strong and both of them played their roles very well. Newwie especially was a delight to watch as he portrayed Kao's emotions so well.

On the other hand, Gawin (Mork) & Podd (Sun) don't seem to have any chemistry at all. Gawin's acting is a little awkward and it feels as though he isn't comfortable with playing a character in a gay relationship. Podd's acting was fine for the most part and I truly feel he should get more recognition.

The music was okay. I actually ended up really liking the dramatic intro music, despite it not fitting the show's theme at all. There really isn't much for music other than that.

In conclusion, despite its flaws, I mostly enjoyed watching this show. Got frustrated at the characters during many occasions (especially Non and Kao), which actually shows a good reflection of how well they played their roles. Plus, this show has a good ending which made it worth watching. I would definitely recommend it if you love BLs and are running out of shows to watch.

I watched the first episode of this when it started airing but I wasn't feeling it so I put it on hold. I thought this was going to be one of those overdramatic love triangle thing and nothing gets properly resolved.

Whew boi was I wrong.

Dark blue kiss feels different compared to other BL dramas as it portrays a realistic view on a gay relationship that has its conflicts and misunderstandings with the addition of not being out to the public. And in this drama, they do address how hard it is to come out as it is not the same for everyone.

I think what I liked the most about PeteKao is that they balance each other well and they have actual proper conversations. In other words, they know how to communicate with each other. This also shows that they've dealt with many problems/fights before but what matters is they sit down and talk about it. Communication is key!!! (Other BL dramas, please take notes)

Hmmm... SunMork... I mean I love these two but the way their relationship bloomed which was that night at the bar.... maybe it's just me... it lacked a bit of climax?? (Well, we all know another kind of climax happened hA ha ha) Anyway, it's good that Mork and Sun found each other as they both need some warmth in their lives.

The female characters??? I love them all!!! Sandee, Manow and Kitty?? The holy trinity omgg I absolutely love that the girls were written in a way that is likable to the viewers. We don't get to see that very often in BL dramas so that's quite nice to see.

Pete's dad and Kao's mom??? They're the parents that everyone wish to have. It's super heartwarming to see how supportive these two are with their children. It makes me feel kinda bad for Non... this kid deserves a better guardian that will lead him to a better path. Non's dad should realise that the way he treats his child is no different to how you forget and leave something in the oven to burn. It's okay to discipline your child as long as you're not overtaking their freedom in having their own aspirations and goals of what they want to do. Teach them, talk to them, be with them but don't act like you're never in the wrong.

Overall, this was like a breath of fresh air. I wish to see more BL dramas written in a similar way and not just "I'm not gay. I only like ***".
