Both ‘Second Chance’ and ‘Theory of Love’ portray characters who have been in a long-term friendship but now want to be more. While ToL has a more chic vibe to it, Second Chance is a slow burn romance.

In 'Theory of Love', there are a pile of film references, among them, 'My Girl'. The name of TOL's last episode is because of that film.

During the series, there is a lot of mentions to the protagonists of 'My Girl', Jeab and Noi-Naa, since this film is a Thai cinema's culture icon.

Both of these dramas are friends-to-lovers BL dramas that really pull at your heart strings. And after seeing one of the leads pining in his currently-unrequited love, later on we get to see the tables turn and the other lead feeling all of the emotions that he un/intentionally made the other one feel.

Both ‘Theory of Love’ and ‘Fish Upon the Sky’ are adapted from novels by the acclaimed author JittiRain. Both these dramas have a main lead who is in love with another character but despite several attempts to gain affection, their love is unrequited (but there's a happy ending). The dramas have a similar style in terms of cinematography, comedy and general theme.

When you don’t realize the love that you have in front of you till it’s gone... that’s when it hits you like a brick of how much that love really meant to you.

In 'Theory of Love', there is a pile of movie references, among them, 'The Last Moment'. The name of TOL's nine episode is because of that film.

On the other hand, both productions tell a romatic story in a college ambient.

Both Theory of Love and My School President involves bickering between the male leads, a one-sided/secret crush, a no-dating rule, a fun friend dynamic, and an overall well-set vibe.

Both shows delve deeply into the theme of unrequited love. In Theory of Love, Third has feelings for his best friend, while in Bad Guy My Boss, Pat struggles with complex feelings toward his boss.

Theory of Love: Special Episode "Stand By Me" has a parent story called Theory of Love. This parent story tells how Khai and Third started dating and also the friendship of this four gentlemen: Khai, Third, Two and Bone. Theory of Love's story revolved around how these four friends life during study time but ToL: Special Episode "Stand By Me" is a story after they finished the study. If by chance some audiences found this one-hour special episode and haven't watched the original parent story, they should watch Theory of Love first to understand more about the storyline.

Despite the very different plots, the emotional complexity and the way that the story holds on to you is very reminiscent of each other. Friend dynamics are also very similar.

The angst of feeling like someone who is a "stand-in" and is just a replacement was prominent in both the shows

You do not know what you have, until it’s gone.
Both stories feature characters who take their time realizing that love is right in front of them.
