All in all, the story is amazing and love their chemistry, still never expected it to be mature.

I finished this a while ago
I love this so much the main girl is so good and ONE!!!! This overall was just a cute and feel good drama even the angst was cute . I liked their relationship but I wish they would have made the ending less fast paced and didn't have that time jump. I just think those are so tacky in dramas. But other than that this was a good drama and I would watch again. Was this review helpful to you?

So Her Private life was a drama that I had been waiting for ever since I heard Park Min Young had a new drama to binge watch and I was excited. And when I heard Kim Jae Wook would be the main lead oh boy was I excited. The whole idea of the drama is nice. A highly professional art curator is actually an ultimate idol fangirl and a artist who cant paint anymore. You would think these two would help each other and heal each other which to be fair to the writers it tries to do. But its more about how many topics i could get into this series. For example one of the artists their trying to meet actually lives in a cabin in the woods when its raining ( wow isn't that original ) and they have to stay in the same room. The show was obviously supposed to be TvN's next big hit since they did a lot of advertising for this drama. It was supposed to be like another ''Whats Wrong with Secretary Kim?'' type drama but it couldn't achieve it since it just didn't have the rewatch value that ''Whats Wrong with Secretary Kim?'' had. The script felt like it was meant to attract the younger generation more or even foreign viewers and as some said a little too many cliches. The lost childhood memory that seems to be popular in TvNs dramas were also there but this time didn't feel welcome in the drama. The main male lead is already an orphan and then the female lead has some connection feels uncomfortable.
The Characters also had some faults in the drama such as the second male lead is so badly written. The female lead had no interesting characteristics other than her being a fangirl. The real fault with the characters is their honestly so perfect especially the main leads even for a drama they're honestly unusually perfect. They never have any reaction to anything and get over things within a day. The male lead and female lead never fight and are okay with anything the other one does ( even when the male lead messes up ). The Second leads are all immature and have no reason to why they're doing everything. The sub stories are uninteresting and predictable.
Honestly I did enjoy the drama though I have not said many good things about it. Its fun at first but you do just want to finish and get it out of the way rather than anything. The main problem with this drama is rather than the fact of the story its more about the lazy scriptwriting and adding twists at the wrong time. I might've given it 9 if not for the last episode that just has so much in it. And also the fact that Park Min Young never shows her potential for art. It would've been a nice twist if you saw that Park min Young was actually a better artist than Kim Jae Wook but doesn't like to show her art to anyone. Something that makes her an artist not a curator. However it is enjoyable for the most part and not the worst drama ever.

Fangirling + mature romance = I like very much!
Being a serious kpop fan, I was intrigued by this show. What an enjoyable drama! What I liked:
1) Fangirling aspect was done tastefully. This drama showcased the positive and negative side of fangirling. I like that main character Deok Mi is a professional in mid-level position.
2) Family theme was prevalent in this series. It's wonderful to see love that knows no bounds in the case of Nam Eun Gi and the Sung family.
3) Wow, the romance scenes made me hot. Kim Jae Wook and Park Minyoung's kissing scenes set me on fire.
What I disliked:
1) Childhood friends trope - gosh I wish they hadn't used this trope.
2) Nam Eun Gi was a manbaby. Compared to the more mature and sophisticated Ryan Gold, Eun Gi wouldn't complement Deok Mi. Gosh Ahn Bo Hyun really enjoyed playing this type of characters (Her Private Life, Yumi's Cell, Flex x Cop)
3) The second half of the drama isn't as strong nor interesting as the first half.
4) Cindy was an interesting character at first then her character became stagnant and not fleshed out.
Favourite scene:
When Deok Mi discovered Ryan Gold's secret identity and he asked her to teach him to become a fanboy. I love that the scene started off humourous then became sexy.

Overall a really good drama, but the "backstory" didn't fit
This drama was super cute and funny. The soundtrack is one of the catchiest I've heard too. However, I think the backstory was a bit too much for what should have essentially been a light and funny drama. It was unexpected for me since none of the other events of the drama showed that the characters would end up having that tragic of a backstory. It didn't exactly fit in with the original vibe that the drama established. However, for the most part it really is an enjoyable watch, so I do recommend it.Was this review helpful to you?
They were a couple of things that I liked and disliked about this drama
• First, I finally got to watch some romance by (Kim Jae Wook)
• Second, I actually enjoyed the romance and chemistry between the main cast.
• Third, because I'm a fangirl myself I get that kind of love for your idol
The story itself was started nicely but as it kept going it became a bit slow and boring.
Her private life was one of those dramas that had nice and fluffy romance but also had a lot of cliches witch I think it has been used for such a long time now.
So to make this short in my opinion this drama was another typical romance that honestly you can't expect too much from but for spending some free time it can be a good choice

Her Private Life is one of the most positive rom-com's I have ever watched!
I started this drama a couple of months ago and dropped it due to it being a bit slow in the beginning. My fear with this drama is that it would press way too much into the fangirl personality for way too long. However, I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't!I didn't think there would be much story here beyond the romance between the two leads. However, I have to admit that I teared up at some parts near the ending. The acting from both of the leads and another side character really sold me and made me become more attached to the characters.
I wasn't totally sold on the relationship of the two leads until the 3/4 point of the drama. The main selling point for me was how healthy and realistic their relationship was. I was always sitting there with my fists clenched in anticipation that there would be a falling out that I didn't agree of, or some sort of breakup that could have been solved by communication, but the two leads really defied all expectations here and made this so enjoyable to watch. I wish more dramas would focus on this.
Overall, I really enjoyed this drama. It was more on the lighthearted side, and it did a really great job of swaying me from dislike to approval for characters, tropes and storylines. I would recommend watching this if you are looking for something fluffy but also something that touches a bit on more serious story lines. The chemistry between the two leads is some of the best I've seen and I look forward to seeing these two leads in other shows!

I didn't like the first part that I had seen,
I didn't like the first part that I had seen, I thought it was going to be very silly and ridiculous. But I forced myself to look at it and now I am very satisfied with my decision. It had a very beautiful dialogue and the characters of the series were really tangible. I liked this series much more than I thought. I even watch some sequences and parts again. In the whole series, I think it was very good in its genre and I recommend it

Mediocre, not memorable, but hey I sill liked it!
I’ll just lay it out straight, if I were to subjectively give this drama a rating it would be somewhere within 6-7/10 stars. I was occasionally uninterested, the product placement was PAINFULLY obvious, and half (if not more) of the drama’s screen time was basically just the two leads’ pretty faces. But I’m a sucker for pretty faces lmao. All the characters were generally likable, and the rabid romance fan in me loved all the sickly sweet moments. The best aspect of the script is probably the honest and open communication between ML and FL, and I must say it was refreshing to see them both acknowledge their mistakes and quickly apologize within the same half hour of screen time. Also, I’m not gonna lie Mr. Ryan Gold is an absolute dream boat.
There were some moments where I genuinely laughed, and others when my heart fluttered a bit. Because I overall enjoyed watching it, I’m giving it an 8/10.

I deserve a medal after finishing that drama, honestly. My main grievance is that her fangirl identity wasn’t even revealed? Wtf????? The only thing I was holding out for tbh, what the hell. But god, where did this drama go so wrong? It started out okay but it was like a downward spiral. Ok, first things first, I still didn’t really ship Sung Duk Mi with Ryan Gold / Heo Yoon Jae. No offence to the actor, but for some reason he just looks so much older than her??? I couldn’t get past it. And personally, couldn’t really see the chemistry. That’s just me. And the only part I liked, turned out to be a dream!!!! Jfc
And my GOD did it get boring after like episode 10 I think it was? (after we had to suffer a whole episode of unnecessary angst with their ‘break up’) Maybe it’s because I don’t care about art, but the whole storyline was then based around the gallery and those bubble paintings and I could not have been more uninterested. And then that episode of flashbacks and drama (with their child abandonment stuff and she just all of a sudden had a little brother that died???) god why. It was just so boring, I couldn’t take it.
Then the writers just totally forgot all about the fangirling side of things, entirely. Which was what drew me to the show!! I wanted to see more of it!
You might think I’m being harsh giving it a 4.5 but I just have such disdain towards this drama.

A romcom drama that's very much 'decent'.
The chemistry between the leads is alright (not as good as in What's Wrong With Secretary Kim). The plot is very much standard fare, with every cliché you've seen a dozen times. The idol fandom topic is done tastefully, but doesn't have the same effort put into it as say Reply 1997.
The supporting characters are alright: sometimes funny, sometimes not, but never obnoxious.
There is an average amount of filler scenes and plots.
A perhaps average amount of product placement, but in a more stupidly obvious way than you'd expect.
The OST is okay as well (but nothing I'll remember for months).
I didn't sit in agony for hours waiting for any painful plot arcs to end, either. In a way, I'm most thankful for the scarcity of pointlessly negative story elements, with the writers instead going for themes like happiness and healing.
All in all: no serious complaints. Serves its purpose as a fluffy, no-stress show.
On Netflix and such you have content missing compared to the TV version: https://mydramalist.com/32293-her-private-life#comment-12329955
The special you can watch either before the show or after a few episodes; it has some minor spoilers regarding characters and plots introduced a bit after the start.
