A demonstration of IU's acting prowess and the various directors' cinematography
To clarify, I pretty much only watched this because I'm a big fan of IU.Love set- the plot was rather meh, and tbh IU's foil feels like a far more capable actor. The entire episode has a sexual element to it though, which I suppose is pleasing to the eyes for some.
Collector - Beautiful acting with IU as a "fox". with probably the best acting in the series. I concur with the other reviews that it's a reflection of women in society, and perhaps more personally to IU as an idol (who takes love, but can't really ever give it in a meaningful way).
Kiss burn- i didn't quite get this episode, and IU with a cigarette looks like a gaff (though it might be intended that way.)
Walking at night - This feels like arthouse cinema, shot in an nostalgic noir style. It definitely feels more intimate of the four, and the director has made some excellent choices in the lighting, sound (e.g. silence, with cricketing in the summer) and location which really grounded me. The shots are simple, but perfectly done. The acting was also great from both parties, though with expressions somewhat suppressed to feel more realistic. As you can probably tell, this is my favourite episode by far, and is a must-watch.
I've rated the show as 9/10, reasoning being rating Collector 8/10 and Walking at night 10/10. Love set & Kiss burn are skippable in my opinion, but the other two are a must watch if you like to see IU's potential in more artistic setting (with walking at night just being an amazing piece of cinematography overall).

Make sure to be in the mood when watching
First two films were eerie and disturbing nonetheless, the acting was decent. IU portrayed the roles I never imagined she could pull off. It just goes to show how she got better in acting over the course of her acting career. It also wasn't the typical short film/drama I am used to see her at that is why I am kind of shocked with some of the scenes. Overall, it is not really highly recommended, however if you want to try something new this may be the kind of film you want to check out. With the total duration of almost 1hr and 40 mins. it would not take too much of your time. Was this review helpful to you?
Because there were 4tales of only 20minutes it's difficult to connect to the story. stories are like short stories I used to read in my school days, it is not engaging but watchable.
But the depth of IU’s acting is surreal. She looks gorgeous in every role. She has great acting skills portraying different kinds of aesthetics and living up to it.
I hated her in the first story.
I was scared of her in the second story.
I admired her in the third story.
I liked her in the fourth story.

Disturbing but enjoyable
1. Love set is a very disturbing story to watch because there are hints of incest, which is why IU doesn't want her dad to get married to Doona because IU is also with the dad (gross)2. Collector is a dark story but very enjoyable, it was nice seeing IU as an evil character. I felt really sorry for her boyfriend. This stroy was realistic, IU's boyfriend acted his part very well and I could feel his pain.
3. Kiss Burn was a boring story to watch, it was not interesting. To me, it showed how careless the two teens were and how IU's friend didn't have any sense. I think the dad was right for punishing IU's friend because she did make out with some random guy at the beach that she didn't even know
4. Walking at night was my favorite story out of all of them, it was deep and full of meaning. It was very sad and tragic how she died, but it was realistic how her boyfriend felt about her suicide. I love the last lines of the episode

IU's acting is tremendous
I'll keep this as brief as the episodes themselves; none of this is based on investment in the plot but simply intense acting and facial expressions sold magnificently by IU. She is Korea's standout actress and standout singer, and we can see why. She delivers a range of emotions sometimes through the power of her voice and sometimes through her body language. Even when the plot itself feels incidental, we are gripped by her persuasive acting which reels you in and makes you feel like these stories are bigger than what they are.Was this review helpful to you?
Gives you alot to think about.
I have only seen one thing with IU before, and wow. I am so amazed by her acting! She did amazing in the series. Definitely going to watch more stuff with her in the future.Love Set: I had trouble following along, and it was weird-- that is all I have to say about this one.
Collector: I don't know anything technical about directing, but I can say I liked the eerie style of directing in this one. Like having an unsettling and off vibe, it was cool. Overall, I liked it. Seeing IU play a manipulative character was interesting to see.
Kiss Burn: My favorite of the four! I liked the story of this one. From the little time of this episode, we got to see nice moments between the friends and how they care about each other. The ending was memorable.
Walking At Night: Wow! So sad :( The story was touching, I'm sure it resonated with alot of people, the meaning was powerful. I liked this one, my other favorite of the four.

1. Love Set
It's a weird tennis match. I thought that their moaning through every serve and the hit was intentional as if they are um...having sex, aha. I agree with the previous comment that says this. The plot for this one is really subtle, I have a hard time to make a closure with this plot. The two women are putting a bet on their own jealousy toward each other's advantage from the relationship with one man. Confronting dominant towards each other, put their ego on a battle.
2. Collector
I love this one. This story told in two dimensions, real time and the man's portrayed feelings into its own scenery. IU as Eun is

The vague explanation of the plots, relationships between the characters and the characters’ motivations is exactly the charm of the stories. Everyone can see what they want to see, everyone can view it the way they seem fit, and everyone will be correct in their perception.
For me Love Set represents the determination, desperation and domination; Collector serves as a literal representation of toxic relationships, when two people expect different things and cannot fulfill each other’s needs; Kiss Burn shows the recklessness of youth and the overexaggerated perception of events they hold; Walking at Night portrays the grief and guilt one might feel after losing the loved ones, and how we can try to subconsciously deal with it.
IU’s performance was truly amazing. While she has her style in the lines delivery, that can be seen in most of her projects, the nuances she adds on top of it made all the characters distinguishable.
Each movie was beautifully shot, with Kiss Burn fitting my taste the most. Loved the dark environment and the use of light to bring the set to life.
Overall, after finishing the first episode I asked myself “what the heck have I just seen?”, but the more I watched, the more interested I became and I started to build my own interpretation of the stories I’ve been watching.

interesting stories, great acting
IU is so talented. She came across as so natural and was so effortless in her acting. The conclusion of the first story was beyond me, tbh. I love Bae Doona so i was excited to see her! The second one had a low key menacing vibe, it was quite terrifying. The third one was funny. Loved the way it was directed. The fourth one was also lovely and tinged with a bit of melancholy.
IU is really skilled at acting. She always selects fresh stuff to work on. I also liked that all these were shorts and not full fledged movies.
