Hana Kimi Taiwan... Once someone say this title over to me, I feel like laughing. Reason is Ella And Jiro in one drama?! Two hilarious persons with great sense of humor makes a good combination. The one Lacking is the "Cliffhanger" ending. Like the students ignoring the issue... Kinda crazy. And Until now, I remember their quotes.

I liked this drama not because of I am a HUGE fan of Chun And Ella. It was because of their production. Hilarious, Then serious then back to hilarious afterwards. I watched this drama in two languages and yes, It never fails to make me laugh.

(please as respect for them, DON'T ever say mean words to them... Ella and the others might look bad for you people but please Don't be too mean.)

I Didn't compare this to the Japanese Version. As Much As I would like to Say Horikita's acting was bad, I didn't do it because it would hurt others.

I also found this version better than Japan it twists. But am waiting for Korea. I still want to know.

I admit that it wasn't that good in the ending part. It still needs a sequel.

Anyways, It's good and Hilarious. Gave me a lot of inspiration. So I think this drama deserves a 9.

I first saw this drama a year before the Japanese version came out and was excited since i was at the time reading the manga. I love this version so much (: (also love the Japanese one just as much) this version went more with the manga than the other versions. It added scenes that was only in the manga and i absolutely loved that.

the cast was great. Wu Zun as Quan was a great choice, i loved his character was more gentle and approachable in this version. Ella as Rui Xi was just perfect. she is too funny and people may say she's overacting but at least she makes it funny. and Jiro as Xiu Yu wasn't bad either. he added a lot of funny moments and may have overacted, but that just seems like Nakatsu character.

i loved loved loved the music. the opening song by S.H.E is still played on my iPod today even 6 years later (:

and yeah, the ending wasn't the greatest but I've seen much, MUCH worse. but back when i first saw it i probably didn't even care lol but i can see why a lot of people hated it.

(WARNING: Long review)
I have to say that I *am* biased towards this drama because it was my very first drama ever. I think I'm judging more from an old point of view (since I watched this when it came out in 2006) rather than a modern POV. This was another one of the few dramas that made me so excited and I couldn't wait for the next disc! Yes, disc, because I watched it while it was coming out and back then we used to watch on DVD LOL.

STORY -- I really liked the plot because it was different from typical romance dramas. I feel like back then there were more creative stories for TW dramas, but now 80% of them all follow the typical love story. This is a more comical version, but I don't remember what the jdrama version was like so I can't say much for a comparison. The pace is pretty good and the story moves on to a new topic every few episodes. I love the character development for everyone and all of the supporting roles are very fun to watch! There's a bit story for the second leads, too, so it's not just focused on the main two.

ACTING -- I know a lot of people either love or hate Ella because her personality is so wild/exaggerated, but I personally thought she was perfect for this role. I can't imagine anyone else who would play it any better. Her exaggeration and super extroverted personality was obviously incorporated into the role, which is one of the reasons you'll either love or hate her acting. I found it very fun, honestly, because not many dramas have such a crazy character haha. Now, Wu Zun ahh my bias (fangirls). His acting might have been a little awkward at some parts but it's no biggie. For most of these actors, this drama was one of the first or earlier works so their acting may not be A+; cut them some slack :)

MUSIC -- Okay I really loved their songs, like all of them. Quite rare for me to like all of the OSTs in a drama, but I really did like them! I tend to prefer sad OSTs but all of these are upbeat and happy, and I seriously just replay them on loop. Very nostalgic!! This drama led me to fall in love with Fahrenheit and S.H.E., hardcore!

Anyways, I think if you were to watch this back then when dramas weren't as popular, this would have been the bomb (which is why I love it so much). But if you watch it now after seeing so many creative and interesting plots, this may not get as high ratings. So advice to someone who plans to give this a try: please be open-minded and remember that this was 10 years ago when dramas were just starting to become a popular thing. This is a great drama to rewatch in the summer because it's so fun and refreshing!

Okayy! I actually watched this drama agesss ago, however I have rewatched it a number of times for reasons that I will state below :D

9 - Story. I loved the whole story, no matter how cheesey and wacky it was, I loved it. The only point I would make would be the ending. I have heard that there was supposedly a season two and thats why they didn't wrap the ending up as well as it could have been but it was by no means terrible! Yes - I would have done it different if I was writing it. No - I didn't hate the ending in any way, in fact, I have seen some endings to dramas that are much much worse than this!

10 - Cast. I CAN understand why people don't really like Ella, and for a time it put me off, but if you can get past the cringey feelings you get when first watching it, it gets a whole lot better! (It took me 2 or 3 eps to get over it and from then, I really started to enjoy her character). I don't think people understand how much I love Jiro in this drama, he had me at hello! (or when he offers his umbilical cord as a 'rare' gift HAHA) Wu Chun is amazing too, in fact the whole cast is brillant, I just don't want to bore anyone with my ramblings! :P

10 - Music. *WARNING - HIGHLY ADDICTIVE MUSIC* I think I enjoy the music a little too much (got the main two songs on my phone and all ;)) That is all.

10 - Rewatch Value. This drama is so quirky and light-hearted that I find myself re-watching it (or sections of it) a lot, especially if I am watching a melodrama or something and I feel all depressed about having to wait a week for the next episodes. I just put Hana Kimi on, and life feels good again! So definitely a big 10 for that!

10 - Overall. My view is that it is amazing for the type of drama it is. So if you are looking for a romantic comedy (that is actually hilarious!) then you should give it a go, just please don't watch the first episode and think it's so cringey and weird that you drop it. I did that the first time around and dropped it for a bit, then went back after a while to give it another chance, and I am SO glad I did!

;))

This TDrama is a lot more fun than the Japanese version and I really enjoyed it. Lots of laughs and bishies and the main cast suited their roles beautifully. Wang Dong Cheng stole every scene he was in, he's hilarious in this.

This wasn't the first Taiwanese drama I'd watched, and certainly won't be the last. I had originally been a little skeptic about watching it, having seen the Japanese version beforehand and finding it difficult to imagine liking any other version as much as that one. However, once I started watching this, I simply couldn't stop. The characters are amusing, the story is sweet and hilarious, and the handsome guys are not in short supply! With the final episode I found myself wishing they could have added more on, because I was so in love with the characters. In the end, I wound up liking this better than the Japanese version. Definitely a must-see!!!

This was the first drama I ever watched, after having read the manga I was excited to watch this - and it definitely had me hooked from the very first episode!
There is so much humour in this drama that you can't help but smile all the way through - and there are sweet moments that are sure to make you squeal in delight.
Ella acts really well to her part, but Jiro Wang's character was definitely my favourite here, I couldn't resist the heart-wrenching confusion he has to experience through various romance issues in this drama.
Overall, I would recommend that you watch this drama, but perhaps if you haven't watched the Japanese version yet, try this first, as they're really different, and you would probably be a little more critical if you watched this version afterwards.

Story: You can’t really compare this to the Japanese versions, mainly the first, because they’re both different. The Jversion had a lot of competitions (eye candy too) and many, many exaggerated moments. You really see the serious side of the whole story in this adaption. The producers focused more on getting Quan to high jump, on Xiu Yi questioning himself and Rui Xi trying to get through everything. Rui Xi is a loveable character that kind of got on my nerves at times. She seemed too sincere and too innocent at times. It’s one of those dramas that you have to push through till the end, but it’s not that bad.

Music: The main theme is one of the best C-pop songs I’ve heard. It’s very catchy. Ella, who played Rui Xi, belongs to the group S.H.E, which sings the song.

Cast/Acting: I can’t blame Ella for having such a sincere and innocent character. I do love her exaggerated facial expressions. I think they added something to the show. Jiro Wang, though, takes the award for being the best actor from this show. He was the only one I truly liked and looked forward to seeing.

At the time of this review I am 6 episodes into the Japanese version, but I will try to refrain from comparing the two at all. This was the first version I watched and I am basing my rating on this fact.

Overall, this drama was a joy to watch. The "girl-disguises-as-boy-and-joins-all-boys-school" trope has been done many times before, and yet the story still managed to keep me interested and engaged. I felt like it could be a bit overly dramatic at parts--I mean, dramas tend to do that a lot, but I've noticed it in Taiwanese dramas more often, especially this one. I do admit that, although I was engaged for most of my viewing experience, there were times when it felt like a chore to watch the show. It may have been because I started it right as the school year began and thus was a bit overwhelmed and it took me a long time to get through. I feel like it some parts the story could have been tighter, but overall it was very good.

As for the casting... well, I wasn't expecting much to begin with. Ella really did overact a lot. The moments when she cried were especially overdone. However, it did add charm to her character. Wu Chun wasn't a bad actor, but he wasn't exactly great, either. His acting was very simple, nothing about it stuck out to me at all. Jiro, on the other hand, was absolutely hilarious. He fit his character so perfectly. He was ridiculous, but that was completely acceptable due to the nature of his character. I loved it. The chemistry between Ella and Wu Chun was also excellent.

Not much to comment on music-wise. I love S.H.E. and I love the opening theme. I think it reflects the mood of the drama quite well. The insert music was also good and reflected the mood of every scene well.

All in all, Hana Kimi is a captivating and charming drama that will have you smiling throughout the entire show. Cheesy? Yes. Definitely. But it works in its favor, even if it has its flaws.

This drama is one of the significant dramas that I have watched. I was still a teenager back then when I first watched it in our local TV station but wasn’t able to see the full story so after many years I came to watch it again. Just like the first time I saw it I really like it. The girl is humorous and also the “the third wheel” guy of the story was really funny. But as time goes by, it’s like I was bored but I have finished it and I never thought it was the ending, As in I don’t know what expression I was while watching but I was expecting to see a different ending. The ending was not an ending for me but nevertheless I didn’t regret watching it again.

sure, the japanese version IS THE BEST !!

but this version of Hana Kimi was good as well :)
i like it very much.

at the beginning i hate the girl, the taiwanese Mizuki. her acting was a little bit awkard and too much for me.
but now, after termination of the drama, i must say: she done a good job !

Now, Im a new fan of Wu Chun.
wow. he done a good job, too :)

TRY THIS DRAMA.
it´s very entertaining and funny.
Whenever I looked at it, I've always felt totally well after!

Now I'm very sad because it's over ! :(

i personally loved this version more than the jap version since i am really into romance . i admit i hesitated to watch this drama becoz of the female lead but TRUST me i was really impressed by her acting skills and i think she is the best version of the character portrayed. you will really start liking her as the ep go on. as for wu chu. his acting is just amazing!! it really feels like he is in love with her and i like the fact that he is not too stiff like the other character in jap n korean version . he was quite naughty in this . the romance scenes are really good. JUST WATCH IT!!!!!!
