MLs are the villain characters of the FL's story/manga. Both MLs at some point become aware that they are characters. In TMRFTS, the fictional character enters our world, in TROT&R, the author enters the fictional world. In the other's world, they fall in love and try to change the story to give the villain a better ending.
Similarities:
- transmigration from modern world to a novel.
- gender reverse roles (both cities are run by women).
- frenemies to lovers (both male leads pretend to be friendly but have secret plans).
- revenge and political intrigue plots.
- both are mostly light-hearted with great comedy moments + a bit of angst towards the end.

Fortune Writer is a mini series while Romance of Tiger and Rose is a full length series but they have a similar vibe where the main character is written to be the villainess of the story destined to die quickly and horribly. In both the main character knows the story and chooses to go against the plot to change her own fate. In doing so she slowly starts to become the protagonist of the story and the sister that was meant to be the heroine becomes darker and villainous instead.
Similarities:
- Ryan Ding stars in both historical dramas
- ML starts out cold-hearted
- FL has a sister who is tough (cold-hearted)
- FL family has a military background
- FL sister is in love with ML; ML falls in love with the “wrong” FL
- ML has a secret agenda
- ML is smart and calculative
- ML is powerful
- Both entangled with marriage
- ML can do swordsmanship
Differences:
- In “Romance of a Twin Flower”, it is in one world, while “The Romance of Tiger and Rose” is two worlds
- In “Romance of a Twin Flower”, one sister has disappeared, while in "The Romance of Tiger and Rose” both sisters are present
