i haven't seen the Chinese version
I haven't seen the Chinese version, so I can't compare it. I look at the Korean version separately. It was beautiful, she showed her friendship very, very beautifully, but there were some problems. For me, there were places where it should have made an impression. It didn't make an impression. I don't understand the reason why the girl was wearing the boy's necklace. In some places, Kim Damie's character was too full, while she should be ashamed in front of her friend. . In some places, I did not understand the decisions of the characters, what was the reason, how did they feel when they made this decision. I didn't understand the reason why Kim Dami didn't tell the truth to the boy, but overall, I think it was a work worth seeing onceWas this review helpful to you?
Soulmate Review - ZyKuu
"The story of two soulmates". This movie takes you through the timeline of when the two main leads first met till the very end. The story did get confusing at some points, and you will be questioning things afterwards, but I believe that the premise of the film was delivered clearly. The acting was amazing, you could feel the emotion and pain the characters were experiencing through the screen. I loved the relationship between Ha-eun and Mi-so as they displayed what true friendship means. The character development in this film is beautiful and I loved the concept of death and life shown through both characters. Was this review helpful to you?

A realistic movie about love!
I wouldn't say it's a romantic movie, even tho you could interpret the story in two different ways, the message remains the same. Two women love each other till the end! It doesn't matter if they're only friends or lovers, these are just labels. This movie basically perfect, because it shows that relationships are not easy and simple, it's complex, and you have to work hard to maintain it.
What I love about this movie is that it's not about the guy, it's 100% about the girls' POV. As much as they love each other, they're always messing up something, but they never leave each other.
In the end, they're basically become the same person. It was like Miso not only finished her art, but Ha Eun's life as well.
The story isn't finished, you have to guess what happened with Jin Woo and his daughter. Who knows, maybe he will raise her with Miso, or just meet the girl once in a while. But I don't think that matters.
At the end of the day, this is about Miso and Ha Eun, and how much they love each other.
Like the title says: They're soulmates.

it's about friendship and fellings one deal with.
the goes like starting in school two girls becoming bff and later they discover and faces misunderstanding and this lead him to a part after realization they get together but the fortune has another plan by making haeun die at the age of 27 in her prime age after giving birth to her daughter. the movie is whole a emotional and has happy sad ending along with happy ending at glance it may feel like bullshit but as the story developed it becomes more intense. which make the viewer to bring watery eyes. it's sweet, dark, fun, love, hope, drama, sad, happy, delight, sorrow, thrill,Was this review helpful to you?

A film about the realities of life and the beauty of friendship
Spoilers ahed:Minor plot-holes (especially near the end) but still a very beautifully written and meaningful film about love and life. Realistic and amazing acting from everyone. Scenes fly by and the pace is good. Didn’t expect to cry at the end, but realizing the two girl’s love for each other and how the two went on to “live like each other” made me sob. At first I didn’t understand why they killed off Haeun but I realized it was necessary: it was her love for Jinwoo and want for a “normal life” that restricted her. And it killed her in the end. And her death, Mi-so expressed her love for Ha-eun. And it also changed Mi-so’s lifestyle. She continues to lie but now she does it out of love. And she works to care for others. Mi-so makes many mistakes throughout the film and I get frustrated with her at times, but she’s human. And you can’t blame Haeun for forgiving her because you realize that the two understood each other like no one else and grew up learning to rely on each other. Mi-so encouraged Haeun to live fearlessly. But they were both challenged with the reality of adult life. Even in the character’s hardships, ups, and downs, you can’t help but think “ah, so this is life indeed.” For people saying its just a movie about two girls fighting for a boy, they need to realize that this movie is not about the boy at all. He’s just a part of society’s expectations and the experience of growing up. In fact, neither girls liked him much to start with.

the title did it justice they really were soulmates
i really liked this movie, it was a tearjerker and i have to say that i enjoyed it. ofc if i could imagine an ideal ending I'd be the two female leads getting married and living the rest of their lives happily together (ik they we're just friends I'm just being delulu cause they had great chemistry). however i feel that if this movie had a happy ending it wouldn't be as meaningful and it could kinda ruin it. the cast was great the story line was amazing and not too complicated the only thing i didn't notice was the music cause i was too invested in the story and while i was processing everything that was happening i didn't really think about the music (in the emotional scenes i was bawling my eyes out so i couldn't hear it) and regarding its rewatch value i think i will wait for some time to pass by so that i can forget about the details of the movie and when I'm in a mood that i want too cry I'll come back too rewatch it.Was this review helpful to you?

Had high expectations but did not understood the end
Didn't understand the end, im gonna need someone to explain to me.The beginning is pretty interesting but after a certain point it started to get confusing. After Miso's fiancee dies I started to get confused because closer to the end someone else also dies but at the very last scene, her best friend shows up again so for me it isnt clear if she died or not. Also it showed blood on a hospital bed, how did she end up there? was it after giving birth?

U will kicking yourself if u don't watch this now ...
Relationships are not black and white, they are made of hundreds and thousands of shades of different colours - ugly and beautiful, and this movie does a spectacular job of painting such a raw and realistic one.A soulmate is someone tethered to you and drawn back to you no matter what and this movie depicts the realistic struggles of growing apart and struggling to find and understand each other.
Was it a touch melodramatic? Sure. Was it still just as thought-provoking and relatable? Definitely. This movie - as all good ones should - left me thinking about my own relationships with my friends and family and my value and love for them.
The cinematography and soft music score absolutely fit the theme of this movie - raw and realistic - it doesn't rely on sfx to bring you to tears. In fact, the saddest moments are those in silence. Phenomenal performances from Da-mi and So-nee, their interactions on screen were so emotional.
Life is not perfect, the people in them most definitely are not perfect. But this movie might teach you something about unconditional love, being there for each other no matter what and valuing the time you do have together.
An absolute recommended watch ...

Beaches : Bette Midler+Barbara Hershey.
06/02/2024 (Feb).
This is a decent watch, but not what I would consider "soulmates" - just a very strong friendship and sister like bond.
How can I put this - the connection between JiWoo and Miso, to me, was more of a soul connection - seriously, each time they met, their interactions and from the first time they crossed paths. The necklace she wore was a massive give away and Ha-run knew it when she spotted it, also, Ji Woo. Miso was actually a threat even though it wasn't the intention. It was her friendship and loyalty to Ha-eun that she put first above anything or anyone else.
SPOILER ALERT!
I also don't think Ji Woo really made any mistakes - even the cave scene wasn't a "betrayal* really because of Miso. No lines were crossed as she saved the situation although she took the necklace for protection.
I know this is meant to be all about Miso and Ha-eun and them being soul mates, but I found it wasn't done to perfection like it was in Beaches with Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey - that truly was one friendship that outshone any other relationship including boyfriends and husbands.
Lastly, it is one thing to keep a pregnancy and death from an ex boyfriend or ex fiance, but it is something else when you keep those kind of things from family and especially when that family is good even if not perfect. Actually, I think Ji Woo had every right to know about the pregnancy as he was the father and didn't do anything wrong except tell Ha-eun that her drawings should be treated as a hobby. He did everything to set it right between him and Ha-eun.
With Soulmates, it is similar to Beaches with the back and forth between the past and present and the triangle relationship ONLY I think Beaches is far superior and the flashbacks were more interesting and also quite humorous at times.
This is good to watch to pass the time - it is a bit slow and boring in parts.

Me explico:
