Hikaru no Go is about Go, while Chihayafuru is about karuta

Ayase Chihaya is obsessed with a Japanese poem card game called Karuta. After entering high school, she decided to form a Karuta club to meet her previous Karuta childhood friends. However, people refuse to join her club. She then meets Mashima Taichi, her old Karuta friend from her previous school. He too refuses to join her club at first. However, after seeing how serious she is about making the club successful, he decides to help her.

Hikaru No Go is a drama which is includes sport, bromance and Restart After Come Back Home is a countryside mlm story.

But you can find something same in these shows,, slice of life, parent-child relationship, pure and true feelings between human interactions, nostalgic atmosphere, character develepments, finding yourself and more..

I'm sure that you'll love both of them <3

The friendships, familial affection, humour and character growth that made Hikaru no Go the best Chinese drama of the year can also be found in here, but to a lighter extent. But most of all, the thrill of competing in championships,...the risk, the courage, the disappointments and the adrenaline rush that go hand in hand with these high-risk gaming competitions...those wonderful instances that make it clear how invested you are in the lives of these characters...you'll find them in Cross Fire.
PS: Two hot guys to drool over, if you need an added incentive...

Hikaru no Go has a cameo in Dear Missy. Shi Guang meets the reincarnation of Chu Ying. And both series are directed by the same person + they include same actors

If you liked the chemistry of Shi Guang and Yu Liang in Hikaru no Go, you'll definitely like The Untamed.

Shi Guang is definitely a modern version of TU Wei Wuxian. Both are mischievous, friendly, geniuses, snarky, funny, and loyal. Yu Liang is also very much the same as TU Lan Wangji as they are both serious, quiet, and prodigies. Even the dynamics of their relationships are similar, being bickering frenemies-to-"bestfriends".

Both HNG and TU are not focused on romance and have strong character development plots.

Oh and Ji Li (HNG Gu Yu) is also in The Untamed as one of the main supporting characters.

Both dramas are about sports/games. Though Hikaru no Go has a little fantasy touch thanks to the 'spirit' concept, both stories talk about friendship, facing hardship together, and overcoming your shortcomings. The time period also differs a little but I really feel like the two have similar concepts.

Both of them are about someone who loves the sport who meets someone who doesn't, but learn to love it.

Hikaru no Go has a really nice atmosphere, just like Shiko Funjatta, it's heartwarming and realistic in some aspects. I love both of them equally, and for me, they are similar.

Bromance/soulmates, in both series there are two MLs, who care and support each other, while also stimulating each other's growth and aspire each other, both cover long period, 1 year in RLASS and 10+ in Hikaru, MLs personal growth - physical and psychological.
