Wafer thin story full of cliches

The only interesting thing about this show is the inside workings of the show biz. The characters individually are nice but put together produce a yawn inducing mishmash. The main culprit is the cliched plot and the wafer thin story. A shorter more punchy story might have saved this.
there is something seriously wrong with Mango TV that their produced dramas repeatedly have such ill thought out plots. i just looked through their website and checked the rankings and comments of their productions listed --except for 3-4 titles, every show seems to be in the same underwhelming rating range. Similar complaints of cliched writing losing the plot after 7th - 8th episode.

I just stumbled upon this drama on MyDramaList and thought let’s give it a watch. I am so glad I did! This drama has a very sweet story. It is cliche, with the rich guy and the poor girl. And you’ve got the ex partners from the past always meddling in. But you will fall in love with Ye Fei Mo & Wen Xiao Nuan’s love story. The ending was lovely and really tied up the story. I got very heavy ‘Well Intended Love’ vibes from this drama, a lot of the same similar themes. Also I thought that stomach cancer storyline was very odd, the hospital making a mistake and then it was just forgotten. Very random, but I guess they needed a way for the leads to reunite again. When they broke up, the leads acting was phenomenal. I cried with them. This is one of the very few dramas where I like the side couples. Gu Yun Zhou & Wang Jia Yi had a very interesting and beautiful plot. Han Hui did fantastic as a villain, her character made me so annoyed, and her ending was fitting for her. Overall, I would definitely recommend that you give this drama a watch!

Very simple love story ,how people struggling with their love life ,some got through this life very easily, some found little hard and some waiting for the right ,in some one life family brought problem .
So getting love is sometime hardship..
Multiple couple story is good and above all ,all got a happy ending.
Ye Fei Mo and xiao nuan chemistry is very and romantic as well as other two couples story also romantic but I want more romantic scenes between them .
Plus want to see his flashback story that how he got drowned in water and how she helped him .
Secondly at starting drama when she kissed him and he thought of a girl who saved her ,so when they had second encounter then why he was trying to push her ,why not he found that it was a good opportunity to knew more about this girl that she was the one who saved her .
After her lots of try he ready to her to work for her then he was investigating her to finding out that she was the same girl but asking her about birthmark she said she didn't not have any birthmark so he got upset .this part understood but how he fall for her ,I didn't understand .I thought all the time that he starting love a girl who saved him ,starting some few episodes confused me that whom he love but as story progress ,I forgot the confusing and enjoying the drama.
I just something is missing in the drama , something more I expecting .
Ye Fei Mo' mother role is also good ,I like this character ,sometime she looked Adorable. So positive character.
As a whole it is a good one.

Great start but lost its way towards the end

Overall, fun and lighthearted, especially if you're willing to overlook the forgotten plot and character inconsistency.

What I liked:
- the main couple's chemistry
- a lot of adorable cheek kisses! (from all couples)
- the male lead's mother
- the second male lead
- Mo Xiaobai

What I disliked:
- side characters were not used to their full potential, often appearing only when they're needed for the plot
- the female lead's brother (am I the only one who found him annoying?)
- the overreaction of the guards that the male lead hired to protect the female lead (they should have at least made them act realistically)
- (Wang Jiayi) Bai Xin Yi's crying scenes; when she's not crying she's actually pretty okay
- the main leads' past together was introduced from the very beginning and it seemed so important but it wasn't

General thoughts:
The beginning was the best part for me. It was pretty good while they were living together and up until a little after that. There were interactions between the leads, and the story moved forwards, there was a goal, and there were interesting explorations in the characters.

But then the story became dragging. It repeated the cycle of the male lead not being able to say his true honest feelings so many times I got tired of it. During this period, it was really the second couple being adorable that allowed me to continue watching.

The pacing got better at around the time the male lead finally confessed. Unfortunately, it was also around this time that the story just kind of became so different from how it started it almost felt like a completely different show when I thought back to the first few episodes. Then, in the last few episodes of the drama, it seemed like the drama transformed from one genre to another with small "arcs" every 1-2 episodes like the terminal illness and the separation because of going abroad.

While I did see some character developments (such as the female lead's attitude as an actress, her friend's confidence in herself, Ling-er and Jiang Fang's view on love and relationships, etc.), there were times when it seemed like the characters changed completely (e.g. I find the male lead's characterization to be rather inconsistent and has no solid foundation personality).

Fate Delayed

Lawrence Wong and Xu Hao are both my favorite actors. I loved Lawrence Wong as Hailancha in Yanxi, and Xu Hao caught my eye in Celestial Academy (though I did not like his male lead there, I still meant to finish it later)

This story is about a pretty actress (struggling), Wen Xiao Nuan, who they kept saying "somehow resembled"CEO Ye Fei Mo's ex-girlfriend. Towards the end, it made sense they kept saying this.

I feel that Xio Nuan's ex-boyfriend is just a sub plot, and the main plot is really about WXN, YFM and the ex-girlfriend.

Towards the end they will show that WXN was really the one YFM had been searching for but his ex-girlfriend stole WYN identity as his savior, thereby eventually becoming his girlfriend.

I am rewatching a second time, despite the drama being memorable as a good drama, I somehow still feel excited re-watching this, not as much as SOYP but in the lines of Master's Sun on Kim Sam Soon, but this much lighter in tears compared to the mentioned dramas.

The lower rating seems to be from haters as the lowest it should get should be an 8, to me however, this is a perfect 10 since I am inclined to rewatch it.

Second leads comes 1st !!

A story of a cool and emotionless guy falling in love with a warm and bubbly girl. Personally, Girlfriend started off well but faltered halfway through. It has been stretched longer than it should & there are too many cliches dat de plot becomes predictable. You might even cringe at the events that happened in the last few episodes notably Episodes 32 to 34.

//VERDICT // Nowhere in the middle it loses its plot growth.I just feel that the story development could have been better done so that the overall flow is more natural as the drama progresses. Hence, you will see glaring plot holes here and there in Girlfriend.

And finally, I absolutely like the ML's mother in this rom-com. Many dramas like to bring in parental objections to their child’s choice of partner. But Fei Mo’s mother is a pleasure to watch for fully supporting his son’s girlfriend and even helping her to put down her love rival.

Mermaid story wanna be

First of all this drama actually quite interesting. They kinda smash typical drama about past connection, past relationship, etc...

This drama reminding me of mermaid story. No, not little mermaid, but the real mermaid story where the prince falling in love with other girl, not the one saved him from the ocean. Because in here Ye Fei Mo (FM) also recognize the wrong woman who saved him from the ocean. But this is still drama where the real heroin & prince in the end lived happily ever after. :)

What i like from this drama:
* They not to make the plot too complicated with the story of how FM looked for the girl who saved him from the ocean. This is what i mean with smashing typical drama about past connection. Usually they will make thing complicated with the love rivalry between Han Hui (HH) & Wen Xiao Nuan (WN), the story will be surround how HH make FM keep remembering about how she saved him, etc... But in here no. Just as much as needed. :)
* The friendship between FM & Gu Yun Zhou also WN & Wang Jia Yi. The friendship where they build morale of each other.
* FM's mom. She is funny & witty. Like some of the writter here, she is also the one I like the most in this drama

What i not too like:
* Even though i like they not make thing too complicated with the story of how FM looked for the girl who saved him from the ocean, but if only they make it surface earlier it will be better. They only bring the story to light at the really really the end of the drama.
* The duration is too short. 30 min each ep is too short.... :( :p

Overall: This is a good drama. Quite entertaining, some scene make me cry & laugh. But somehow they also make me fast forward several scene even though the scene are the important scene, especially some last episode. So yeah good drama but of course not re-watch material.

Superb ost/soundtrack

The story is clinche but still something about this drama that you will want to watch it and know what will happen at the end. The acting is really nice, you will love even the side characters. What i love about this drama is the ost, WHEAT FIELD and CHANGED APPEARANCE are both exceptional songs and added emotions during some scenes. You will feel the emotions from the singers. After i completed watching this, i immediately looked for the ost.

Definitely recommended to watch if your ok and prepared to watch many episodes as i think this is common to chinese drama.

So many types of girlfriends... boyfriends too for that matter

So many girlfriends in one drama: evil girlfriends, we he exes, new, contract... you name it this show has it! giving us almost as many types of girlfriends as it gives us cliches in this is a highly entertaining, highly bingable drama. Yep this is a drama who's most impressive trait seems to be how many cliches they can fit in to each episode.

The sound was horrible, the subtitles where just awful and there is so much crying I had to switch off the sound now and then. There are also a whole bunch of flashbacks, montages, slow mo stuff that you can probably up the speed without really noticing you upped the speed. However being a cliche lover I can not help but give this an 7,5 bordering on as it has all of my favourite cliches and not a single episode is left without them...

The Male lead is the typical icicle, cruel meanie,, the female lead is hard working to the point of it being ridiculous, kind, poor and caring for all like most female leads not very smart but not either dumb to the point of annoyance.

The. friendships here are great, so is one of the mothers but do not expect to see any fathers as they seem to be all dead.

So if you love cliches and can overlook the sound and subs this is definitely a decent place to look for them, if you do not love cliches move a long...

The thing about discovering dramas yourself versus only looking at lists is that you can look at titles not commonly found in any list. That is the reason how I found this drama. Like other modern contemporary Chines dramas, the plot isn't that entirely new. There were drama troupes that has been mixed together. It was okay, I guess? Not entirely memorable but it was kind of a filler drama that you could watch sandwiched among two dramas you would love. The plot was okay, the cast was okay, and there were also moments I enjoyed.

I really enjoyed this show, i must say i don't write reviews very often but i felt compelled because this show was actually a nice change , personally I'm fed up with all the school shows about kids and not grown ups and i really enjoyed the FL how she was standing for herself ,the plot line wasn't as silly as i thought it will be and i also loved the secondary couple which I usually hate they were sweet and funny and all-in all the show was very Charming so if anyone liked the show secretary Kim then most definitely would like this show too .

Plot line was quite good
Music i didn't really notice
ML and FL were adorable
rewatch value i could watch again if enough time passed .

Cute drama with full of drama cliches. But still entertaining.

It's good for binge watching over the weekend. Good for killing some time. It is cute and entertaining with good character development not only for the Main leads but also the Second leads.

What I loved:
- Xiaobai. He added some spice in the drama. Though it's sad that he only have little role in the drama. He's cute.
- Second lead couple. Jiayi is so pretty. She looks so simple but pretty. Although I don't really liked how Yunzhou pursued her at first (by lying about his job). They are still cute.
- Feimo's Mom. I love his Mom. She knows what's really best for Feimo.
- The ending. Nuannuan torn between love and career. She still chose what will really make her happy. And Revealing who really saved Feimo in the end. Though audiences might already have the clue and already know who. In the end it doesn't matter anymore who saved him. What matters is that ML and FL are both truly in love.

What I hated:
- How they treated girls like trash. How Jiayi was treated by her agent. She's an actress not a prostitute. How new actresses like Nuannuan who at first was only having part times and they treated her harshly.
- I hated that you know that the ML and FL already liked each other BUT the ML still confused and still chickening about confessing. (It's cute but a bit frustrating.)
- The Exes. Drama cliches are where exes will come back with confidence that their exes still love them. They don't know how to move on.
- The wrong diagnosis. Although it is kind of believable and it is possible for the ML to have the disease. BUT he has his personal Doctor, he was also hospitalized before. And they suddenly diagnosed him with cancer and they aren't even confused about it. Usually some people will try to get second opinion. (It's just kinda dumb.) The writer should try harder.

I have a lot more to say but I will end it here. Try watching it. It's fun.

PS.
I also hated the annoying ringtones. Haha. Maybe they are subtly trying to promote the phones. But it got kinda annoying. Haha.

I also loved Director Li. He's hot.
