Beautiful

I was not expecting to like it this much. I thought it would be silly at first but it turned out to be very beautiful and touching I was so envolved with the story, the children, the romance.. It felt so comforting and then bad and then good again and I am very impressed by Mix's acting! My only problem with this show is that Earth's character really sucked at the ending so I didn't ship them so much anymore. ..............................................................................................................................................................................................................

If they don't make a season 2 of this I'll cry

I can't explain the mixed emotions I got from this drama. Its so hard for me to believe that it ended already I feel like I need to know what will happen afterwards in Tian's and Chief Phupha's relationship and how the 5 kids grow up. These ten episodes made me laugh, squeal, get angry, and cry (the crying is the most important part for me cuz I didn't just cry I sobbed for 3 hours) I really really hope that they make a second season because its one of the best dramas I've ever seen and then seeing how P'Mix struggled with acting and how much pressure he put on himself he even fainted on set and lots of tears had been shed but what makes it better is that P'Earth was there for him the whole time he helped hi rehearse and read the script it broke my hear seeing P'Earth crying when suddenly P'Mix fainted in his arms at first he thought it was acting so he called out "Tian!" but when he realised that P'Mix actually fainted he called out "Mix! Mix!" then when the cast surrounded then he got up and cried on one of the crew members shoulder ahh their seven years of friendship gives me tingles i love hoe close they are it made the chemistry between the characters even stronger it was like driving on a road with lots of bumps but they still found themselves in each others arms (put in mind the P'Mix is a rookie actor and he faced a lot of hardships to film this but even though he really nailed that role I really hope to see more dramas with EarthMix in them)

thank you for reading my review <3

1000 stars out of 10 star rating

At first I watched this for Mix's visual and acting from Fish Upon the Sky and didn't expect much out of this series, but the first episode captivated me right away. After the end of each episode, they include inspirational quotes which really matches with the theme of the series because it delves into self-discovery and humility. I usually watch series for romance as well, but Tian and Chief's interactions were like dessert whereas the plot, suspense, and character developments were the main course. Tian's journey to finding his passion in life was motivational and moves your heart with how well they directed and edited scenes comparing his past and present situations. Please give this series a try and may it help those who are also in a slump like Tian who needed a sign!

holy wholesome series batman!!!!

it's been a while since a bl series has impressed me this thoroughly. and whilst i usually don't think it's fair to compare unrelated pieces of artistic work, in my humble opinion this has shone a light on what some other series haven't done so well.

the very way this series was set up from episode one was so strong because you have an immediate idea of who tian is and where his character direction is going. they follow that by setting up a strong location with an equally strong supporting cast. i can't speak for anyone else but every single member of the village made me so happy. it's a rare gem to watch a romance drama and not just be invested in the main couple!!!

but speaking of our main couple the chemistry was simply /chef's kiss. earth and mix managed to make me feel on a profound level how much tian and phupha loved each other and ached for each other in each other's abscence. and the truly impressive thing is most of that was conveyed with half the touching, grinding and kissing of other bl dramas. don't get me wrong all that has it's place i think it's just truly impressive what the two managed to communicate atmospherically through subtle body language and subtext.

i also genuinely appreciated the change in scenery. i think it was such a breath of fresh air to have a bl drama not set at college. again that still has it's place i just think they were able to tell a very unique story because of it.

10/10 loved this drama so much more than i thought i would going into it initially.

Just wholesome

I've watched this a while back and this show has got it all. It has really sad parts but also really funny and cute ones which make you really fall in love with the characters. The characters are all relatable and I just really enjoyed the unique setting. The acting also felt very natural and the two leads have great chemistry. Overall the atmosphere it created was great and I was really invested in the story. I am normally not really a fan of sad or tragic storys but I loved every minute of this series. I strongly recommend watching this!

Follow The Hype!

1000 Stars is wonderfully different from GMMTV's usual series and revolutionary in the BL world with openly gay characters and supportive friends/family! The acting and plot alone deserve ten stars. Earth and Mix's chemistry was off the charts! Their shared looks held more emotion than some kisses I've seen. Tian and Longtae's friendship was so pure and a great edition. The scene where Tian is trying to count the stars will have my heart forever; finally, someone told him his life is his and not someone else's. That last episode ripped my heart out and left me in tears with 'goodbyes' from everyone and Phupha coming in from the background at the wedding. The way Tian let go of that second hug in the airport and the forehead kiss?! There are still things I didn't like and want to talk about. Tian is Tian, not Torfun; that heart is his, and her death should not have been made to feel like Tian's fault. Tian has gone through trauma over and over again and hasn't even gotten proper apologies from so many people. I understand why Phupha was mean to Tian, but he's no saint either. He was lying and making Tian seem like a bad guy when Phupha himself didn't know the whole story. Shout out to Tian for going through so much shit and still never forgetting that he was there to teach the kids; he always showed up. With all that said, this drama earned every bit of hype it got and will be something I recommend to friends.

New Level of BL

If you've been a fan of BL for a while, you will remember the hype for this show. Fans had to wait nearly 2 years for this show, but it was worth the wait!

Firstly the concept is incredible. The characters are a bit older than your average university BL, so the show deals with some mature concepts. It's very refreshing to get out of the city and into the countryside - which the directors played with. We follow Tian's journey in Pha Phun Dao Village, learning how to live and adapt to new surroundings. The world-building in this show is incredible, you really feel like you're there.

For Mix's first acting job, he did a phenomenal job. He embodied Tian and portrayed his character development through his body language and voice. Plus, his chemistry with Earth and the other actors were incredible. It is crystal clear that the entire cast and crew got along while filming because nobody looked uncomfortable or stiff.

Speaking of characters, these characters are wonderfully written. There are clear motivations for each one and no one falls out of character. I do agree that Chief Phupha started acting differently when he started crushing on Tian. I personally didn't mind it as everyone acts differently when they have a crush, but yeah it did feel weird when shy Phupha started flirting and pursuing Tian.

I'd say the one main downfall of the show is the medical inaccuracies. Tian hardly recovered from his surgery when he travelled to Pha Phun Dao and almost died basically every episode. He followed NONE of the advice his doctor gave him and SOMEHOW stayed alive.

Overall, this show is incredible. It's realistic while feeling like a fantasy.
The romance isn't very explicit, nor is there much skinship, but the flirtatious moments set up for some really rewarding and emotional intimate scenes.
Not only does this show feature mature themes, but it's also hilarious. Plus the attitude towards LGBTQ+ people is phenomenal.
There is not a dull moment in this show, you will be taken on a rollercoaster of emotions, but it is well worth it - 10/10!

MUST WATCH

it took me about a year to finally get to watching this show and i’m glad i finally got to watching it. i hold this show so dear to my heart, especially after seeing how much work was put into it. this show is so much more than a love show. i need to commend earth and mix for their amazing acting. i’ll start with earth as he is a veteran actor. he absolutely portrayed phu in the best way possible. his facial expressions, his body language, his EYES, the light smiled here and there, his demeanor. everything was so perfect. there will never be a better phu than earth. as for mix, i absolutely commend his work as a baby actor. his devotion to his role as tian was so heartwarming to see. every little action that he took had meaning. every single he word he delivered was delivered flawlessly, im so endeared by earthmix, and i wish them the best in their careers going forward

This is not a BL or a Romance

This story had so much potential. I love the premise. But the execution is so poor. First of all this is far from a BL, even though it was promoted as such. There's absolutely no romantic chemistry between the leads. They do get together towards the very end but their story together is non-existent. This is like a poorly done personal development story for Tian's character. The screenplay is in shallow and lacklustre, the pacing is way too slow, and the acting is underwhelming. Honestly it's a waste of time if you're looking to enjoy a nice BL. If you just want a slice of life story, there are way better ones out there. I'm surprised it's so grossly overrated by BL watchers. My overall score is around 4, but seeing this show get so much underserved praise makes me want to be petty. Dropping it to 1.

Fantastic. Beautiful, but... This is not a LGBT+ show or a gay romance.

Absolutely beautiful. Almost perfect story.
Fantastic cinematography. Everything was almost perfect, but...
This was a perfect example of a BL for women. I can see why it scores so high with that demographic.

One word for this show, manipulative. I was looking forward to the last 3 episodes... But then Tian reverts to a child that cannot make his own decisions.

1. This was bromance, not romance. Slight innuendos and minor flirting does not make this a love story.

2. The writing made Tian's entire character a plot device. Tian's own feelings and acts were underplayed. It was Torfun's acts that was constantly talked about and praised, making HER the protagonist and not Tian.

3. Major problem with the 'Tian lied' storyline. Yes he did not tell them about the heart transplant, but it was Pupha and the rest of the officers that decided not to tell the villagers about her death. Being mad at him was very hypocritical, especially considering:

4. The revelation that Tian's father asked Pupha to look after Tian. Nothing about this made sense. It felt like a plot device just added to provide conflict. If this was true Pupha would have known about the heart transplant from the beginning.

5. The chemistry between the leads were never really explored. Instead we got multiple shots of a shirtless Earth.
A lot of reviewers are praising the almost total lack of intimacy between Tian and Pupha, citing their character's traits.
Sorry, no. That is not how relationships work. It really got frustrating and at the end, insulting.

Again, beautiful show, but it might as well have been made with male and female leads. (It almost felt like it was with the constant Torfun flashbacks.)

It could have been perfect.

Edited to add, after reading other 10/10 reviews, I'm changing the rating because of the manipulation by the director.

I am living with my expectations on this series! 2 episodes are done and I can say, KUDOS! TO ALL THE TEAM! This Series deserves to be more famous all around the world. ?????

Cinematography is at its 100% perfection! Plot is also perfect. OST is the best! The actors/actresses are great! #EarthMix is the newest love team that we deserve. They deserve the fame also. ???

There are spoilers in social medias but I don't watch it. I prefer to be hungry and more excited every week! ???? I commend Mix as a new artist of GMM for giving us his acting skills. He has a very angelic face for a guy. And I can't help myself staring at him whenever the camera is focusing on him. Waahhhhhhhhhhh! Ofcourse Earthe, 1 of my favorite actors. When he pull off his shirt, OH EM GEE!!! What the!!!!! He is very sexyyyyy! Shiaaa! With that bite chuchu. ???? Furthermore, I am very happy that GMM is giving us a very well-done series! I commend GMM this time too! ??

Gutted a d dissatisfied

. I went in with soo much expectations as I was one of those that has been waiting for this show since the first trailer. It’s a big let down for me, in fact you can skip a lot of episodes without missing anything, the pacing is soo weird, I feel like I wasted my time. The soundtrack is nice, that’s the only thing I like. I feel gutted and disappointed. And why does earth keep sighting, that was really annoying. This could have been a movie, since nothing was really going on in most of the episodes.
