A little basic storyline and a great female lead. Very inspiring.

This drama starts off with an a terrific and original storyline about a failed idol, who almost debuted. This really impressed me, this is something that has never been done before! I was in love with the show and kept watching at all times, no stopping, even though I was so busy! Whatever breaks I get I would watch,it was truly addictive.
let me start with what I liked
•The female lead- the female lead had her way with words, she knew how to handle people, she knew how to accept help from people, extremely hardworking and full of ideas. This was so refreshing! She was naturally cute there was something about her that even when she acts cute, its literally not cringy, didn't know someone could do that so well! Her growth is amazing. She turned into a confident independent woman who everyone rooted for during the whole show. She was very rational (most of the time) and really was just overall mature and likeable.
•the chemistry- the leads portrayed such a beautiful and real relationship, it was just so natural! It looked like they were really in a relationship! Too many cute scenes.
•music- the osts were so catchy that I almost unconsciously watched the Intro and played the song on my head all the time.
•acting- the acting was actually pretty decent nothing mindblowing, but enough to convey thier emotions well.
•friendship(sismance)- not gonna lie, this is the highest level of sismance I have seen a drama after maybe mr sunshine?? Like the girl's friendship just seemed so natural, they're so supportive and open with each other. It was so wholesome. Its also so shocking at how even though two girls were trying to woo the same guy, they still remained friends???? Yes,I'm shocked too, didn't think that could happen in drama land.
•message- such a great message was portrayed through the female lead, it actually made me wish for good things for myself and to work as hard as she did for my dreams!
•made me learn alot about fashion- the female leads problems and what she did to solve some problems made me learn alot about fashion and I could relate to my marketing class that I was taking in College, it was amazing how they included such things in the show.

Now for what I didn't like:
•scene coherence- the scenes would randomly shift and sometimes there is no connection, I was extremely annoyed and sometimes would think "how did this happen", "how does she know", very confusing and unsettling.
•skipping of some important relationship points- you know some scenes are just so important in dramas and just make you feel fluffy on the inside, those were missing! I dont wanna spoil for everyone but what was the writer thinking?!
•basic on top of basic on top of basic- the drama would keep adding basic stuff on basic stuff. Dumb misunderstandings, hyperthimesia, cold male lead, struggling female lead, low eq high IQ male lead, cohabitation etc it was done ok but it just got a little predictable.
•writer tried to include too many things- the whole drama just included too many things that are suddenly introduced not developed well enough and solved,a little too fast. Especially the last few episodes just kept including so many unnecessary problems and made the solving of these problems, very rushed.
•dialogues- the dialogues were actually a little too cringy and I questioned the writers so many times. I couldn't take some scenes seriously as the dialogue was too funny or cringy.
•dragged- Even though I just complained about how it rushed things, now I'm doing the opposite lol, but bear with me. What I'm saying is what could have been stretched out, wasn't and what really could have been solved easily and handled better, was dragged. I did get lowkey annoyed sometimes, but it was bearable.
•the second female lead- this girl was actually super selfish and was forgiven way too fast for what she did. I couldn't believe how fast they solved her issue!
Overall I enjoyed the drama alot, watch if you want some inspiration (to help you keep going no matter how many times you fall!), a great female lead and alot of basic but cute scenes :)

Incredible chemistry and romance

Agreed with many others that the chemistry between 2 main leads are undoubtedly one of the best i have seen. I am glad to chanced upon this drama and discover Eleanor and Leon's acting. One of the few dramas that i rarely skip and cry when Han Che went to the operating room with him leaving properties to Nuannuan.

The frustrating part would be that there are many scene which are abruptly end. there is no follow up to the next scene and many a times i feel there were many cliffhanger scene. It would be great if the director could be more detailed so that the drama would be more wholesome.

Still hoping they have a season 2 or another drama featuring both of them.

Not found interesting

First few episodes makes you connected with drama because of little twist and turn in the story by giving little hint of two third wheels in drama (2 girls love one man and 2 boys love one girl ) but director didn't stretch this story much this is good ,as jealousy mode in every romantic drama give little humour to the story so that much had been used but his illness story didn't connect me much as well as the suffering part of female lead actress .Something is missing in the story or may be synchronisation between the story is not good ,it looks like just to starts the love story as already 7 to 8 episodes passed they kept the story in a fast mode .After that drama had all lovey -dovey scenes all the time which made the drama boring according to my views . I like second lead couple and their romance as well as their acting more than first lead .I didn't like story . For me it is a boring story.

If you like seeing the FL chase after her dream with support from the ML

This drama made me a huge fan of Eleanor Lee. Well, this one and Fake Princess. I love love loved her roles in both dramas and she really understands the assignment. Her acting is phenomenal, at such a young age, and I'm blessed to have been introduced to her (and she's talented in other stuff too!). The 2FL is also funny and fierce in this one, although her romantic storyline was a little tiring. Overall this is a cute and cozy watch with the usual illogical situations/misunderstandings of CDramas. I'm superrr impatient when it comes to misunderstandings, but I have to say the cute OTP moments are VERY worth it, as the leads have GREAT chemistry and are so cute together.

PROS
❀ Eleanor Lee's character (Nuan Nuan) is awesome and we get to see her go step-by-step towards her dream | Despite failing as an idol, I loved watching NN's journey in testing out different roles and settling into one that suited her. The different roles do become cyclic/repetitive at some point (enter new role, other colleague jealous of her, she manages to perform well, rinse, repeat), but tbh that's pretty satisfying to me. We love successful heroines chasing after their dreams!! Eleanor's acting range is so incredible and her character is pretty fun, too.
❀ Sha-la-la-la chemistry with the main leads | I think I read that the main leads are friends irl, and I buy it. I loved the chemistry between the main couple (hardworking, creative designer x genius, stone-faced visual director). I do think NN outshone Han Che, but he kept up as a supportive ML that wanted to do right by the FL. At first he's pretty unlikable but once he realizes his feelings for her (around ep 8 I believe), he becomes adorkable. And when they're together, they're fire!! His pouty faces are so cute and her antics with him make you want to laugh and smile. I think he does his fair share of groveling to make up for his mistake in the beginning by helping the FL throughout the series. Also great (and numerous) kissing scenes, bless.
I also liked how Han Che's emotion immaturity was partially explained by his hyperhymesia, which is the rare ability to remember everything in life with precision. The show explores its drawbacks, including physical ones like headaches and more mental ones like not knowing how to behave in social settings. BUTTT I wish the show utilized more of his psychiatrist!! Why bring those scenes in when he's not even going to open up to the psychiatrist? :') I feel like that was a bit of a lost opportunity as it could have explored mental health in a way I haven't seen in dramas.
❀ Great OST; very sweet and upbeat | There's a reprise that continues throughout different songs that I really like, but I think the original one is from The Best of Luck sung by Eleanor Lee herself (she's so talented... y'all I hopped on her train so fast LOL). It's a beautiful song, features a gorgeous melodic line, and I think the show did a wonderful job in bringing it into different tracks.
❀ Cute addition of a shared pet! And cohabitation *heart sign* | Got some great tropes mixed in, including a cat named hotpot and the leads acting cute while living together.
❀ Happy ending with basically 3 couples | The secondary couple talk about getting pregnant, the main couple is about to get married, and the evil couple are kinda getting it on (tbh idk/idc about them).

CONS
✕ Kinda useless evil ML (EML) and evil FL (EFL) | I disliked how the main couple and secondary couple remained friends with them until the end. Like yuh... homegirl acted up on yo mans AND betrayed y'all after 4 years of being trainees, and y'all gonna let her in on hotpot?? I skipped most of the scenes she was in. The EML was good-looking but had cardboard acting so I couldn't empathize with him. The end of the drama made it seem as if they be getting feelings for each other (they = EML + FML) but honestly I couldn't see it. Both actors were pretty wooden-faced throughout everything and the script didn't help.
✕ Secondary couple (fierce, emboldened ex-trainee x nerdy, helpful little brother) was a bit tiring | Their whole subplot was "I can't like him because I see him as a lil bro" and "why can't she see me as a man," thrown in with a (maybe) pregnancy. I feel like this subplot was written a bit immaturely and I found myself watching their scenes in 2x speed. Don't get me wrong, I was rooting for them and they were cute, but their antics were a lil 2much4me.
✕ Misunderstanding level: 7/10 | Other than the main misunderstanding, for the sake of the plot (where the ML hides his identity as the guy who helped the FL fail in becoming a star) there are small misunderstandings too. I remember two small ones instigated by the EFL, and in both times the supposedly smart (but emotionally stunted, I guess) ML jumped to conclusions. There's a break-up around ep 17 (confrontation of the big secret in the beginning) but the ML is chasing the FL all the way until they get back together in ep 20, and then other stuff due to the ML's wayward protectiveness happen too. Tbh the boundary between their relationship (i.e., "we're together" vs. "we've broken up") isn't really explicitly stated whenever they get together, but I guess it's the audience's assumption that they know the other's feeling of liking them. (If that makes sense. Lol, I promise the cute moments between the two are worth the slight ambiguity.)

OVERALL
I feel like 7.5/10 is such an ugly number, and feels low, but it's also just below a 4/5 which is not bad at all. I think this drama used one too many misunderstandings, BUTTT the main couple's chemistry and Nuan Nuan's character in general elevated the story and made me keep watching. If you're a fan of seeing the FL grow and find her dream through trials and tribulations, along with supportive side characters, you'll like this one!

(Note: My rewatch value is set to 5.0 always as a default as I'm not the type to rewatch dramas EVER. Thus, I do not take it into account when calculating overall score.)

Dream not always only 1

I have to say watched this drama is an accident for me, i want to watch other drama but remember wrong title. But i'm quite glad i've watched this drama.

This dram bring us unusual plot. Usually our lead already have dream that they want to achieve in the drama. But here we given the time when our female lead dream shattered into pieces & she has to find new dream. Yeah sometimes in life what we though at first as our dream & we work hard to achieve it & finally realize it's not our dream / not the best for us.

In this kind of situation our reaction is one of 2. Like Liu Nuan Nuan (NN) who immediately realizing the reality & finally find the most 'suitable' job for her. Or like Han Xue (HX) who still a little bit stubborn & want to prove to the one who kick her from that world that she can be success without their help. Thank God in here HX is finally realize she's been stupid after hearing harsh but truth word from a 'friend'.

I also like the relationship between NN & Han Che (HC). Even though many mistake but they're learn & grow together. Love their friendship (NN, HX, Fang Han Chen (FHC) & Lin Jia Yi), we can see in their friendship there is mistake but also there is forgiven, at the end they really make the word true friend meaningfull. The love rivalry & jealousy between FHC & HC is also one of the most funny in my opinion, so childish but so adorable.

Overall i quite enjoy this drama. This drama makes me cry & laugh. But i don't think i want to re-watch.

I really love this drama, the leads really have great chemistry!Have always been watching LJK and LKX drama. The romance factor in this drama really is 10/10. The drama had me crying at the second episode; ML/FL delivered their emotions really well.

There really isn’t any antagonists in the drama, after all they are all friends. You’ll really learn a lot from this drama, like how you don’t get what you want in life... the quote “ when life gives you lemon, make lemonade out of it” really goes well with this drama. Sad that it has ended, looking for a new drama to watch!

Best Actress in C Drama these Days

Although the plot was corny and cliche, I really love the female lead. She is one of many China actress that have 'talent' and knack for acting. Leon Leong captured the male lead character perfectly. I love love loveeee this drama! Would love to see more Eleanor Lee <3

I found this while scrolling on Youtube, really appreciate Chinese TV for uploading their drama in YT. because for many international fans, YT is very wide and global so we can enjoy their dramas.

The second couple also had chemistry between them. Both the second female or male are handsome and pretty. I rarely saw the second lead have good visuals just like the first lead.

Will be one of my rebound drama and definitely worth to rewatch!

Love this one also, Eleanor Lee's drama is always so so good and entertaining, their acting is also so good, there is the chemistry. As always Elanor Lee with her beautiful voice singing the OST.

I really love the couple, they are just so so cute. I love how they are just so playful. The storyline itself is also not boring, it's like there is always a story to tell, so fun to watch. The chemistry of all cast is also so so good, they seemed so close, it's just like they were acting with their own friends, really love this drama.

I cried, laugh, chucked, and also adore their cuteness. It's definitely a must-watch if you like to watch Chinese drama. I will definitely miss them.

This drama is definitely a 10 for the sweet moments and kissing of the male and female lead lol. Their chemistry was impeccable. The kissing scenes is one of the most passionate I've seen for a while . Recommend this drama if you are a hopeless romantic and want a good romantic drama.

Female Lead is very warm and sweet and thinks quickly off her feet, She started out in a girls group , but something happened where she got let go. She starts from bottom and doesn't have any place to live so she stays at her friend's grandmother house. That is where she means the male lead. Male lead , tall, handsome, cold and extremely smart. He's in the field on lighting and tech ? something like that

Male and Female lead start off on the wrong foot but slowly falls in love. He falls for her warm and bubble personally and she falls for how he always can help and support her. The male lead did something to the female lead by accident and that ruined her becoming an idol career. He feels guilty and tries to help her out. The male lead is also a cold person in the sense he speaks with little sympathy, not too much emotion., not to mention how he gets jealous of the other guy. The male lead personality makes him head butt and clash with the female when she has faced with problems and burdens. She just want someone to side and listen to her but instead the male lead just responds in a cold way. Of course the female lead will get angry. I think because of that it adds more to the chemistry between them.

There is quite a. lot of kissing scenes in this drama ( lol good for some viewers and not good to other viewers) .I think the scriptwriter/director wanted to express her bubbly and warm / extrovert personality through the passionate kissing lol . one of the best dramas ive seen so far, love every bit.

My fave type of drama includes having character development for the second leads. They have really good chemistry too.

Addicting with stunning cinematography

I finished watching this last night. Its not perfect but it left with a big impression. The cinematography, the lighting, the music and the audio(its recorded live & not dub yay!) is one of the better ones ive seen in cdramas. The instrumentals and osts in the main couples scenes in the later episodes made me fall in love. Some of the shots were executed so wonderfully, it stunned me.

The writing is not perfect . There are times when the plot didnt make sense and wasnt explained properly. The story is full of cliches. Its not all bad tho. Some of the lines in a couple scenes struck gold for me. These scene are in the later half of the drama, where the leads romance is being tested. Along with the gorgeous cinematography and music, you cant help but fall in love.

Overall the drama is really enjoyable. I watched this in a span of 4-5 days. I often don't finish dramas this quickly so I was surprised at how addicting it is.

Entertaining and also irritating at times

Acting: Eleanor as a FL was very natural and easy on the eye. She could emote. Shes also a great singer and i love the ost she sang. Connor was the weakest link. He was horrible in Meteor Garden that i was so shock hes headlining a new drama as the main lead but the MDL ratings push me to try. I can say he did improve but hes just mostly awkward on screen. Even if its a scene wheres he's standing or walking, he looks so ill at ease. His character was suppose to be charismatic and he just doesnt deliver. The only plus point is that you can still feel chemistry between the MLand FL.

Story: The premise was good and NuanNuan's struggle transitioning out from a failed idol group, and starting from zero into a working culture was something fresh and yet realisticaly potrays the lives of many trainees hoping to make it big and be the next star. That and the story of finding her talent in things outside of singing kept me interested. But the romance direction wasnt so good. The pace and the setting and how the leads handle themselves wasnt as enjoyable as i hope it would be. The secondary couple although visually cute but were amateurish. I keep wanting to feel more depth about everyone and yet finding little. So theres a real issue in both the writing and the directing of this drama. Han che was also not utilised properly imo.

Rewatch. Not for me.
Note for those who are sort of interested but cant be invested to watch the entirety, you can opt to watch a FMV clip, just chk on youtube. It can be sufficient and feels you didnt miss that much anyway.

A bit uneven script, but quite enjoyable

I found it getting better towards the end.
In the beginning, I felt that it was too many parallel stories going on, and that the script was balancing on the edge to being too cliché in some aspects.
Then the characters matured, and the main couple got more focus.
I enjoyed Eleanor Lee’s acting (Nuan Nuan), and Leon Leong (Han Che) grew on me. Xiong Yu Ting (Han Xue) was very sweet.

A few details bugged me a little, but it was quickly forgotten.

The ending felt a bit rushed, but all in all an enjoyable watch if you want a love story and story about finding your way in life.
