F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers (2021)

I know this may seem strange but i found so many stuff resembling this lakhorn to the modern F4 Thailand that it just blew my mind away.

First of all, the character of Theewarat belongs to the archetype of the High chair tyrant. The same as with Thyme from F4 Thailand. Both are drunk in their power and products of their environment. They like to brag, are arrogant and look down on people thinking that they are able to buy everything for money.

Well that is at least until they meet their female leads. Their female leads are having nothing of their crappy behaviour and infuriates them at every turn when both Theewarat & Thyme realizes they have no power over them. And that they are losing their hearts to them.

Both are enemies-to-friends-to-lovers story-lines. Both are fated soulmates and have the sky and earth symbolism in their storylines.

"When the Sky Falls" is a historical romance drama with action and adventure mixed in while "F4 Thailand" is a modern high-school drama that tackles bullying, growth and society commentary.

But both dramas does the redemption arc for our both Anti-hero Male Leads so well.

Both are school dramas involving bulling & ML + FL being enemies that turn into lovers..............................................

A simular story.

The FL coming from a poor live in a school for rich people. She stands up against bulling and get bullied there for.

The ML prince of the school and his boys are the one who bully.

meanwhile, the ML unintentionally fell in love with the FL. He try to win her over, but that isn't so easy as he things.

Both have a somewhat strong female lead
Both has four handsome boys
Both has a "bad boy" who becomes nice with female lead
Both has two boys in love with the female lead
Both might or might not give you a mild SLS.

If you like one, you might like the other

Same story, different version. Both are based upon the manga with the same characters and general plot but have different interpretations of the story.

In both dramas the Male Lead is persecuting Female Lead so much so that he ends up falling in love with her. It is the same vibe.

Both have bad boy MLs who bully the FL at first. The MLs have at least one close male friend they're always with who develops a crush on the FL, and both are set in a school with the FL a poorer more fish out of water character.

Gorya is a simple girl who works at a flower shop. She passes an exam and gets accepted into a prestigious and luxurious school attended by the wealthy. The school is ruled by an elite clique known as the F4 consisting of four rich, handsome and spoiled boys. Gorya is the only one who stands up to their bullying, leaving all the boys in awe, especially Thyme, the group's leader. Almost instantly smitten by Gorya, Thyme romantically pursues her but she has no interest in him due to first impressions. She instead falls for his best friend Ren, However, Ren is still in love with his childhood love Mira. In all the chaos of school, Gorya can't help but find herself falling for Thyme because of his generosity to her and her family and his change of character.

f4 (+ previous versions) and moon lovers are my favorite dramas by far. moon lovers is truly a masterpiece, and actually very similar to f4 in my opinion:
- FL is courageous, strong, kind, funny, and stands up to the ML. she really is the ML's ray of light.
- ML is kind of an anti-hero. his mom is VERY similar to thyme's mom, and grew up in a very cold/abusive environment. this causes him to be violent, impulsive, and everyone is scared of him. when he meets the FL his world becomes bright, and he falls heads over heals first. like in f4, the FL is in love with someone else first. the ML kind of bullies/teases the FL before professing his love (that scene still gives me chills)
- ML is persistent, says he'll never let her go, etc.
- there is a reverse-harem-- a bunch of good looking guys who are praised (bc they're the sons of the king)
- overall, the plot is so interesting! the FL travels back to the Goryeo era in ancient Korea. it made me cry so many times, and is by far my favorite drama other than f4/BOF <3.

ML is a bully who undergoes character growth and change after meeting FL who he initially plays games with and bullies, but then slowly falls in love with her. ML is a student in both, but the FL is older in Promise Cinderella.

similarities
- Both take place in an institute setting
- A girl is interacting with a boy group of 4
- Falls in love with the one she hates the most
- In the beginning hate the group except one guy (that one guy in both dramas are sensible and reserved)
- The ML starts mentally acting mature ones they fall in love with the FL

Differences
- BOF is modern while CAA is historical
- In CAA the FL is disguised as a boy
- In BOF the group of 4 bully everyone but in CAA the group only bullies the FL
- In BOF one of them is a play boy but in CAA one of them is love sick
- In BOF one of them is a sportsman while in CAA one them is good in martial arts

Both amazingly outstanding dramas! Very thrilling and keeps you guessing the whole way!
with 2 amazing plots! Definitely have to watch both!

In case you like Ren's character you will find him very similar to Lan Zhan from The Untamed.
