Whoaaa this drama got quite a hype huh. I hv never seen the first episode review page that had 13 reviews, at this site. Well, FL, we meet again. I'm quite shocked. It was a drastic change from the previous drama of her that I watched, My Journey to You. WAIT WAIT HER CRUSH WAS ACTUALLY HER ML IN MY JOURNEY TO YOU??? I see what you did there. Was this planned? Like a teaser of to MJtY. Coz wow. That was impressive. Also, I just finished Story of Kuning Palace few weeks ago... This is so funny. It just so unexpected. Sksksks making a fool of yourself in front of ur crush, a universal experience. I can't believe I saw two of them like this. The delusion. Oh she wanted to save him at the cost of her live. Here comes the one that I.... Hey, we meet again, last I know you as Qi Xiao, ML. So unserious sksksks. Wait... Ended already? Let's go ep 2.

This is a stunning PICTURE of a drama! What a marvelous fantasy world! The female lead is so pretty and the way she meets her male lead just OMG!Its Dylan Wang! I loved him so much in Meteor Garden!

I was a not too fond of the female MC, no matter what until the very last scene. Maybe my opinion about the FL remained, but the actor who portrayed her now has my admiration!The graphics, to me, is just beautiful. So are the people.

Well well... What is Rei doing already awake at 5 AM?!Finally watching Love Between Fairy And Devil, obviously!I wanted to watch this drama for quite some time, but decided to wait for Netflix release in my country to watch it legally. As I was expecting the first episode didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed it and it even surprised me for some things.The CGI was really great, it was still strange from what I'm used to see from other bigger productions, but it was not a nightmare like the first scene of The Untamed for example...Xiao Lanhua is an adorable character, I liked her introduction. I want to squish her in my arms a bit she's so lovable!Her baby crush for Lord Changheng is not only super relatable, but also so damn cute(?!) and I think he thought the same, because he started treating her a little softer towards the end of their encounter.Her sacrifice probably did something for him(?!) but now she's gone, so... ??♀️Her first encounter with Dongfang Qing Cang, was SOMETHING!They threw at me the body swap like it isn't one of my favorite tropes (if well written obviously) and I loved how they enacted it! You could clearly see the swap! Really well done!The world and its history has been already established and I'm ready to go in some exploration as we go on with the episodes.I'm enjoying a lot the musics, I think I'm going to check them all as soon as possible. I also liked the animation of the opening and the starting scene.A really good start!

I love that the show used animation at the start and some voice over to establish the backstory of the universe and the main character, Xiaolanhua. I'm disappointed at people that don't get XLH character background and judge XLH because of her voice.

I always feel like Wuxia tend to be hot messes and info dumps in the first episodes. Or longer. I have to commend Love Between Fairy and Devil for a fairly clean start. I'm still catching up, but I don't feel like I need to rewatch the episode. Not to mention the visual aesthetics are pretty amazing. I love look of where Orchid takes care of the "Books" and does her work. To me, and don't hate me, it's still not as pleasing as say Eternal Love (Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms). Though that's a hard contend with.
It feels very odd to me that Orchid doesn't annoy me. She's got just the right balance of annoying and cutie to make me just want to squeeze her. Because boy, oh boy is Orchid a stereo type. A stereo type that usually becomes super annoying, super-duper fast. I think some very well done writing saves Orchid from the fate of annoying female lead. Not to mention that the actress playing Orchid clearly has skills and is making that last little jump of endearing underdog. Cause I want to be on team Orchid.
Some of my lack of awe and just meh at this point is the stereotype of the other characters thus far. The mean girls who pick on her and disrespect her. Like some of Orchid's friends say "Why did they laugh? They all have to take the same test and might fail as well!" Or the other people in higher power could be from any other Wuxia I've seen. Chang Heng is the ideal heart throb who doesn't even remember saving Orchid's life, but through his aloofness seems sweet. And well . . . he's a stereotype. Boring.
Which makes me feel meh about Orchid's crush on him.
Things amp up fast as she rushes to save her crush and is sucked into a prison with the big bad stereotype. Er, I mean Dongfang Qing Cang. The villain who almost breaks out, but all the higher up immortals go to strengthen the seal. Orchid knows that Chang Heng will die attempting this so she incurs the wrath of the gods and is sucked into the prison. (Yeah, I just had to.) To his credit Chang Heng is concerned that a fairy got trapped in there, and it makes him look good as everyone else is all whatevs about it.
Long story short the body swap—promised in the drama synopsis—occurs. And actress Yu Shu Xin gets to show off her skills as she is no longer Orchid. She's now Dongfang Qing Cang. Boom! It's so funny watching Orchid's body threaten Orchid in her new male body and demand to be freed. I mean I'm not sure how to describe it. Dongfang Qing Cang is threatening to kill his physical male body . . . would he really be okay being trapped in a cute little fairy's body. Espeically since he's stating that Orchid, in his body, has his powers.
Oh, boy. I don't know how I'm gonna write these reviews.
It's a promising start and the Leads are showing their acting skills nicely. It's just a bit meh right now. Which I know many have stated it might be like until the plot really gets going.

This promises to be a funny drama. Dylan Wang seem to enjoy playing a female character ?. The way Orchid described her life is a breath of fresh air.

This show was a slow start for me. I thought that the first episode was very middle of the road C drama until the first interactions of the main leads. The first episode involves character and world building. The costumes and the characterization are a bit jarring and cheesy. The female lead starts out very childish and the male lead is not properly introduced in his true form in this episode. However, the series goes nowhere but up from this point.

Episode 1 review The explaination in the front, the pictures are good.The ShuiYunTian is so pretty. The warm tone of Arbiter Hall is so welcoming. Xiao Lan Hua's narration about her life in Arbiter Hall protrayedher character. She is so optimistic, so endearing. The teacher reminds me of Luna Lovegood. Wish to see more of hr. Oh, GOD! The Plastic things on their head. _rolls my eye_XLH is so pretty when she dressed up for Chang He. Hurgh I hate the plastic thingy on ChangHe's head. Someone smash it into pieces.Hurm. The entrance of XLH to CH is an epic fail. I need to crawl into a hole from second hand embarrassment. Hurm. You better don't toil with XLH feelings, CH. I hope hope the release the BGM tooo.....A the details in the drama, that I only realised after a second watch. The flowers bloom when she is happy. She is sooo cute. - > please hint you like her more! Dont stand there and hint hint. It is not obvious enough. -_- --Part 1

Great way to start the drama. It's not grindy at all. They even didn't go to far from the novel . Intially acting was pretty good

Parecia que assistindo um livro de fantasia tava ganhando vida, mas por conta dos efeitos especiais, até o cenário do drama achei bem viajado. Eu vou continuar assistindo mas posso abandonar mais pra frente se realmente não gostar. O que eu amei foi o tanto de personagens e as roupas.

c'est la première fois que je vois un drama chinois avec autant d'effets spéciaux aussi bien réalisés depuis les quelques 300 que j'ai déjà vu.. avec le jeux impressionnant des acteurs Ça donne une vue absolument magnifique et particulièrement spectaculaire en nous transportant directement dans ce monde rempli de magie et de fantastique personnage.
