And now so young’s soul come back and bong hwan is come back to future
It’s not fair for bong hwan
So young gets the reward for what bong hwan already did
And the king didn’t know soul in so young body already switched in the end ?

What a ride this has been! It hooks you in even from episode one. This drama will make you laugh and cry. If you are in need of some comedy, this is for you. You will laugh in every episode. At first, I found myself hesitant to watch because historical dramas are not my cup of tea. Surprisingly, I really liked this one, so even if you don't particularly fancy historical dramas, I still recommend you to try this out. I think it's well paced and none of the plot is dragged. The acting is top notch. Shin Hye Sun (who played Kim So Yong) did an amazing job. Kim Jung Hyun (who played King Cheoljong) did a great job as well. I noticed he was also in Crash Landing On You and did a great job there.
The ending was a bit iffy. The king fell in love with Jang Bong Hwan, not Kim So Yong. How did he not notice that the queen was different? I wasn't satisfied, nor did I think that the ending was so terrible. I liked how Bong Hwan's presence in So Yong's body made her more independent.
The music (OST) is pretty good, especially Bong Hwan A. It's the only one that stuck on my mind. The side romance is also on point. I really liked the romance between the Head Chef and Court Lady Choi. Rewatch value is 10/10. In fact, I rewatched it a month after I finished it.
If you are debating whether to watch this or not, do it! I definitely recommend this. You won't regret it. Hope this helped you. Let me know if it did. :)

It was mostly good apart from that shitty ending
FIrst of all, SHS and JKH are the GOAT. Esp SHS. The eps without her were dull and their scenes together were electric, whether funny or intense. Give them all the awards. The show was funny but I do feel a lot of the humor was forced (like the court ladies' side stories which I would skip sometimes) and the political plot was underdeveloped (this is often the case with sageuks but this is mostly a comedy so ok).Looking at the finale reviews, I realise people are in three camps:
1. Either they wanted to see So-young as her own person and Bong-hwan was a driver to make her more assertive and fight back which you can look at it as
a) it's problematic bc we are (or the show is) saying it's only a man's characteristics and disposition which would have made her finally rise up
b) it's fine and Bong-hwan is strange anyway so his character would make anyone seem strange. They also wanted to see So-young the woman fall in love with the king and vice versa separate from Bong-hwan. Imo the problem here is that we feel sorry for her situation but we (and the King) fall in love with Sobong, the relationship with just So-young feels empty and thin.
c) it's lowkey homophobic and queer bait and the sigh of relief response that it's just So-young is getting the side eye
2. Or they want the King to only love Bong-hwan and So-young gets out of the picture which
a) is misogynistic and erases the woman
b) then they could've reincarnated the King Goblin style and gone full BL (Korea I dare you, Run On did it on the mainstream why not Mr. Queen)
3. Or Sobong remains and the King stays with them and if they showed So-young is present in more scenes throughout the show you erase no one and develop both. Or have a convo btwn the two somehow (like explain how the swapping happened/why he was chosen). Furthermore you have an interesting commentary on gender identity, sexuality and labels (see how the fandom struggled with Sobong's sexual ID and gender and finally merged their names and ID them as *they*) just like Black Mirror sn 5 episode 1. And imagine, *imagine* if the King knew as well and you get to explore that with him too. We're given crumbs in one of the last scenes but now you're literally killing Bong-hwan in So-young off (and breaking my heart). This is the loss of the series imo. I like how this was almost explored in Love in the Moonlight when the Prince was in love with Ra-on thinking she was a man but ofc they copped out and "revealed" they were a girl. And just imagine if Bong-hwan acknowledged his feelings outright with no joke to hide behind.
If you've read to this far I think you get the sense that I wanted a version of no. 3 to happen. Because I think love is love, whether or not the labels mattered. I think they both did and didn't.

The best drama I've ever watched
I've seen my share of dramas. I think I've seen most of the dramas that are considered "the best". As for now, Mr Queen dethronised all of them and is my number one:) Things I like about this drama:1) Great leads: It's the FIRST drama where I wasn't annoyed at any point by FL or ML actions. I just loved them throughout all the drama. the chemistry was spectacular. There were no clisches in their relationship which was refreshing. I don't have to add that the actors who played the MC are now my favourite k-actors:P
2) Lovable supporting characters: sometimes you don't care about supporting characters but here you do and you love them as much as the main couple:)
3) Entertaining plot: there were NO dull moments, all episodes were fun and entertaining and brought something new to the plot. I have to say that I'm not a big fan of historical dramas, they're usually to serious for me that's why I loved this more contemporary approach.
4) Music: music was just perfect and so on point!
The only thing I didn't like was the ending. The drama made me believe that love is just love no matter the gender. Ending distroyed this belief a little bit by playing it safe. However, it's still my top drama and I recomend it to everybody - you won't regret watching it.

10/10 there's no flaws
first.. the acting of all the castthey're all really doing a great job especially queens minions? lody choi, hongyeon and royal chef
- the story is really.. *chef kiss brilliant
the writers really knows how to deliver
such a witty & clever story
and last our mainlead is.. ?*wink ?
oozing with chemistry
despite that people hesitate cause it bl/gay. if people think it's gay for god sake guys it's women body. i personally think that "soul" has no gender so if you body is a women your "soul" will naturally follow your animal insting as a woman. even if they make the ending same as Chinese ver where they reincarnated in present as a man & man what is wrong with that love not know gender
sorry for my bad English guy✌️

Easily the most outrageously ridiculous premise for a body swap story I've seen so far, and I've seen quite a few. Guy falls in a hotel pool and wakes up 200 years ago in the body of the Queen of Joseon? Get out of here!
And yet… it's pretty good and funny
There are Some lulls here and there but this is entertaining, even though it's a bit too much sometimes. Starts off really funny but the comedy makes way for a lot more drama in the back half of the show.
The action wasn't very good. Lots of shuffling around with lots of cuts so the fights were a mess. It was hard to tell exactly what was going on. They probably rushed the filming for them.
But Shin Hye-sun is firing on all cylinders here. Great wide-ranging performance. I knew the minute I saw her in a supporting role in The Legend of the Blue Sea that she was way more talented than her role let on, and well I feel validated now!

My favourite k-drama
I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've ever written a review on here. It's just so good that I want to tell everyone to watch it. I've watched several Korean dramas and so far, this is my favourite one ever. it's the highest rated k-drama on air currently, and that is actually why I watched it. I was curious to see what it was and why it was doing so good.I definitely agree with the praises this drama is receiving. I've never had a show make me this happy before: it makes me laugh because the humour is perfect, but it also keeps me interested because the story is so complex and intriguing that I'm constantly wondering what's going to happen next.
I love all of the characters. The queen is my favourite. And the actors all have perfect chemistry - it's truly the perfect, dream cast.
I could go on and on about this k-drama. I'm so sad it ended and that I can't watch it for the first time again. It will always have a huge place in my heart, I HIGHLY recommend everyone to watch it.

Me surpreendeu!

Much better than expected
Mr. Queen is a story of a chef who, during a life-threatening incident, has his soul/consciousness transported into the body of a queen from Joseon. There, he has almost complete control of her mind and body, and has to figure out how to survive the incessant attempts of regicide while navigating the personal and political intrigues of the era, all the while attempting to get back to his own time.**Note: I held off watching this show because I thought it would be cringey. I hate cringe, and usually hate the time-travel trope. But I read lots of good comments, and then my daughter happened to ask me if I'd seen it yet on the exact day I planned to start it. She was 3/4 of the way through it at the time and said that although it should be cringey, it's not. After having watched it, I 100% agree with her, and I'm glad took the time to watch.**
I was struggling to get through this drama until I got to episode 8 (of 20.) Episode 8-9 caught my attention, and after that I was "all in." The entire second half of the drama, in my opinion, included all the comedy, excitement, and drama that this show was missing in the first half. The ending, the last half of the final episode, got a lot of complaints from other people, but I thought that it wrapped up the story in the best way possible.
**Spoilers ahead**
There were complaints that the king fell in love with one person and stayed in love despite the queen being herself again when the chef went back to his own time. But there were hints throughout the entire drama that the queen was still there in her body, just hidden. Her own personality came out at various times, like when memories appeared and when she was able to embroider again, as well as during the romance scenes with the king. The king was astute enough to realize that there was some part of the queen that he'd fallen in love with that was, in the end, missing, but the queen had picked up some of the chef's mannerisms and ideals, so her differences weren't so great that people thought she was a whole 'nother person.
Of all the characters in the story, Court Lady Choi and Kim Hwan were probably my favorite characters out of the entire series. Kim Hwan's absolute cluelessness and naivety was totally endearing. I thought he was going to be a random nuisance side character at first, but loved him by the end. (Congrats Young Jae, you won me over!) Court Lady Choi's personality transcended the screen, and her bravery and purity made me fall for her almost as hard as the Royal Chef did. (Cha Chung Hwa is a fabulous actress!)
Ah...I totally lied. My favorite character of the series, the whole reason I watched the show in it's entirety, was King Cheol Jong. Kim Jung Hyun is one of my current favorite actors, and he did not disappoint. His expressions are able to convey a multitude of emotions, but he somehow does it in an understated way. His physical movements are sure and confident, and I absolutely loved watching his fluidity in the one-on-one fights.
The first 8 episodes were no higher than 5 stars for me, but after that, it was a solid 10, so I'm giving this drama an average of an 8. I will be going back to rewatch some of my favorite scenes, but I'll probably be skipping the beginning of the show.
Edit: Due to the fact that I can't forget this show, I'm upping my score to a 9. Happy watching!

The storyline is interesting + the comedy
i finished MR. Queen last week... ? It is a great drama.. If you want to watch a drama I'll highly suggest MR. Queen.... Both the leads were amazing and they nailed their roles so perfectly. The genres which I'll give to this drama are #Historical #Comedy. This drama is pure and total comedy in historical set up. It isn't based on any true historical event still the story is amazing... Mr Queen failed its own protagonist
*Warning; this review is not about the overall show, it's mainly my gripes with the way Bonghwan's character was handled. Please keep this in mind before continuing. As much as I enjoyed this show for its comedy, I definitely believe the writers did Bonghwan dirty. We never really learn much about his life outside of being a chef and in a coma, we don’t know anything about his friends or family, or why he even wants to go back so badly. They don’t properly flesh out his motivations, and treat his desire to go back home like a joke throughout the entire series. I wish they further explored all the trauma he went through; waking up in a different era and in a body that isn't his own, being referred to as Kim So Yong while his own identity is slowly erased, adapting to a female body (i.e. periods, pregnancy, etc) and then having to deal with all the palace politics and violence as a modern man. Bonghwan literally went through the most shit on that show and the writers never addressed it or took it seriously. Not to mention how they kind of forgot how Bonghwan was stuck in So Yong’s body in the second half and instead treated him like an eccentric version of So Yong. I literally had to keep reminding myself that this was Bonghwan inside the body because this show was trying really hard to erase his existence for the sake of the romance. Like I literally know nothing about him as a character separate from So Yong. even though he was the protagonist, Bonghwan was one of the most neglected and underdeveloped characters within Mr. Queen.

A masterpiece
Firstly I want to start by saying that all the actors from main characters to supporting characters and the production team did an excellent job. The story was amazing too . I would like to appreciate the acting of FL who did a fantastic job on portraying both BH and SY , we can clearly see how she portrays BH and SY differently . This drama is a masterpiece and I hope it would be a drama which is loved and watched by many people no matter which year . I want it to be popular just like the drama 'Goblin' . A big applause to all of them , no matter they had main role , supporting or guest role , they did a great job in portraying their own characters. I'm satisfied with the ending too .OSTs are also a great appreciatable aspects of this drama.
Once again I thank you all for giving us this best drama and doing a great job ❤️
Wish I could see you all again together in another drama ( even though I know that won't happen but still I can hope right ? )
THANK YOU FOR READING ❤️~
