Tsuchiya Tomomitsu is the captain of his high school basketball team. He is also a senior at his school. Even though he is not that good in basketball, he is selected as bench player for the prefecture qualifying round. The underclassmen on his team, who are all better than him, are not happy about his selection.
Tomomitsu then meets Hatori Sae. She is also a senior at the same high school. She keeps watching Tomomitsu shoot three pointers. They become closer and develop a romantic relationship. Suddenly, Sae transfers to another school without saying a word.

What makes these two dramas similar is the non-conventional chemistry between the leads. In DYLB, the leads are both adorkably introverted which makes their flirting and interactions so awkwardly sweet. In RO, the leads march to the beats of their own drums caring little what others think about them. Consequently, this makes their back and forth banter and flirting so effortless and refreshing to watch.
Slice-of-life romance of mature adults with a bit of drama and enough comedy.
- ML is somewhat lost in life in the beginning, thinking of changing or actually changing careers.
- ML are rather reserved but nice.
- FL approaches first and warms his heart. She herself doesn't need saving, she has an established life of her own.
- There's a lot of trust and mutual support in both relationships.
- Well written smart dialogs full of meaning.
- No love triangles or evil characters (there is a secondary couple in Run On).
The greatest difference is the amount of chemistry (YAMG couple is HOT, RunOn couple is very tame).

The main and secondary characters are very much intertwined in both shows. The dialogues from both shows are so meaningful and wholesome, that you'll miss the appeal of the story if you're not paying attention to their conversations.
Unlike in Run On where there's a main romance plot, there's no romance between the leads in My Mister (I mean IU's and Lee Sung Kyung's characters). More external conflicts are going on in My Mister, but there is a deep emotional connection among the characters from both shows. If you like shows which are character-driven, I think you will like both of these shows.

I felt that Run On depicts picturesque landscapes and somehow even One Spring Night gives off the same vibes when it comes to weather and landscapes.
Also, I really like the contrast in the dramas where Run On shows the beauty of the day especially the morning and One Spring Night makes the dark look pretty and somehow uplifting.

•Both are fresh and unique lovestory.
• No unnecessary love triangle and cliche.
•Supportive characters have their own story.
•Beautiful dialogues. Funny and relatable at some points.
• FL loves ML but they are their own first priority.
• FL don't hesitates to take initiative for kissing or expressing love. They're not coy but clear about how they feel.
• ML are understanding. Also they are good kisser.
• Both are beautiful drama and deserves little more attention and appreciation.
