lighthearted adventure & romance - first few minutes not on viki
I just finished watching this for the second time through, and it's just as fun as I remembered! This is a great adventure romp with a clever, playful, outgoing male lead, and a smart female lead with her own problems to solve. A lot of people seem to be comparing it to The Romance of Hua Rong, but personally I think the show it's more similar to is The Romance Of The Tiger & The Rose: a light action/adventure/romance comedy featuring two canny leads with their own agendas who can each hold their own playing off of each other's schemes and eventually working together as they grow to like and trust each other. If you're looking for a serious drama, this isn't for you; it has its more serious moments, but this is mostly lighthearted. Also probably not for you if you like your MLs silent and brooding or pampered and demanding! Yan Qing is (imo delightfully) upbeat, mischievous, and focused in a way that seems to be rare in c drama male leads. Ling Long, the FL, is a little unconventional herself, being a politically savvy and often colder character, but the two play off each other wonderfully, in my opinion. The ending sets up pretty well for a sequel, and fingers crossed we'll get one!Just a note - the first five minutes or so of the first episode are cut off on Viki for some reason, so it's better to watch at least the first episode on youtube! The show makes a lot more sense if you get that beginning exposition.

Interesting storyline
I started this drama with less interest, but the story line was very intriguing which made me complete the drama. It had nice plot twists and acting done by both the leads was good!It would have been better if the writer didn't make the FL push the ML away too much. It had some sweet scenes, in addition to it, the drama consisted some comical scenes.
I really enjoyed the character development throughout the story. The progression of the hate to love relationship was lovely <3
I would recommend watching this drama if you want some light hearted laugh and some critical thinking. ╰(*´︶`*)╯

Feels like there are spoilers, but I try not to spoil at the same time. Read at your own risk.
Once you start, in less than a minute BAM! HELLO! They really made their point straight strong from the beginning hahahaLove the wolf braids (aka ML), wish he kept it through the whole series. Love that he's always framed as a player, acts like a player but is truly loyal and dedicated to one person only. He follows his heart and is persistent to a bad fault.... he's a total stalker, but if you like the person and/or if you're the main character, apparently it makes it okay.
Ling Long actress did a great job with the duo personality. Refreshing and fun. I believe everyone has a soft, respectful and kind side, as well as a rough, honest and unapologetically judgy side. Doesn't make anyone a bad person, it just means we have depth and reasons of why we are the way we are. Makes us more interesting as individuals.
You Rou's growth and change as a character was the best. From a spoiled, hot headed, entitled brat to learning how to be humble and independent. Too bad she was left behind for the last parts of the story.
Mi Sa..... Good job :D Who ever wrote this character, plus the acting. Amazing job! Ling Long and Mi Sa's character and the actor/actress are top notch! Would be tough to say who wins the cake, so they both have to share it :)

I love this drama
Every thing was just balanced in the drama ,story ,acting ,outscenes ,characters and their acting ,love story , conspiracy, funny scenes . I enjoyed watching ML . I had seen his one of his drama before, it was also a historical drama I forgot the name of the drama in which he had done the role of serious character . But in this drama he had shown all the type of expressions . He did funny scenes ,actually his character was happy go lucky type .Last part of the story was very good when secrets unfold which didn't expect till end . I got sad when her doctor die that part was little emotion . Happy and perfect ending .I like the drama . At least give a try and atleast watch 10 episodes I am sure you will like the drama . Good thing it has only 24 episodes .

Short and sweet!!
With a total of 24 episodes, this drama is really fun to watch. The plot involves the female protagonist who has to switch between 2 different personalities and the male protagonist who has wolf bloodline running through his veins. The storyline is good, there are no tense moments. It starts off on a lighter note and progresses till the end as a light hearted drama. There are some funny moments, some cute, sweet and romantic moments, and finally a mystery that is unfolded at the end.
The actors were good especially Jason Gu.Connie Kang was also good in her performance.
The costumes, sets, locations, screenplay were good.
The wolf princess is a good drama though it is a one time watch for me.

Short and Sweet
I chose to watch this because I didn't want to get into another LONG drawn-out drama(s) and was wanting to watch something different. This drama was perfect at 24 episodes! Not too long and not too short. The storyline was nice and different. Although it is historical, this drama is different in that the story does not involving anything with the Imperial Harem nor does it talk much about emperors/empress/imperial drama. I like historical dramas, but glad this drama was focused on something other than imperial drama. The leads are new faces to me--I haven't seen any of their past works so I was actually very excited to watch this. I am all about seeing new faces and finding new ships.
The drama itself was very funny and cute, although some parts felt a little rush. The female lead's character was started to frustrate me a little bit towards the end due to her inductiveness. If you enjoy seeing male lead chasing after female lead, this is probably the drama for you. Although, I started to feel bad for the male lead a bit, lol. All in all, a good short and sweet drama to watch if you're bored and need something easy to watch.

The Wolf Ate My Plot!
Imagine every possible cliche you can possibly think of in a Chinese historical drama. Add in an unlikeable, overly grumpy FL, now make that unlikeable FL have a split personality that is supposed to be some sort of anamorphic wolf spirit that takes possession of her body when she gets too close to the ML. Does that make the FL any more likeable? I'll let you decide.Just because she doesn't fit the typical weak, naive, airhead princess trope, doesn't make her any less unpleasant as a character. I can name many FL roles where the character is strong and smart, and was still able to not be a completely unpleasant b**** at the same time.
If every possible Chinese Hanfu costume drama cliche you can think of in one drama sounds appealing to you, or you just want to see a spiteful FL torture the ML character for no reason, when he actually has good intentions and just wants to help everyone, then this kitchen sink drama might be just what you are looking for.
Is her wolf split personality actually a metaphor for PMS?!! That would explain a lot!

Fun and engrossing adventure!
What a refreshing and enjoyable drama ! I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much, but I it’s light and fun. I love all the characters and no overly annoying villains. The ML is the heart of this show. He played Yan Qing to perfection. Some reviewers say that Jason Gu’s portrayal isn’t natural, but I beg to differ. His charater is crass, overbearing softie full of heart. It was really good. The romance isn’t over the top either and their bickering scenes are funny. The plot is simple, and the overarching mystery isn’t too convoluted.Love it!

They dropped the ball...
Sorry, I don't like this drama. Actors wasn't good Jason Koo over-acting it, Connie Kang is a beautiful girl but that's all, they didn't have chemistry, and the rest of supporting actors did less than good. Jason Koo in Oh! My Emperor didn't do well either, Xiao Zhan took all the credits and a better choice for the main lead instead of him. In the Song of Glory he did little better. This drama story sucks; childish and boring. By ep 6, I was enough watching them.. nothing was good. Looking for better dramas in case.....seriously if I want to waste my precious time.... this drama still didn't make a cut.Was this review helpful to you?

I watched due to so many high praises but this wasn't for me
There are a couple of reviewers who dropped this at episode 6 which, blessedly, is also the point where I gave up on this mess of a drama. In my layman's opinion, a drama needs a primary focus and in this case, the interactions between the main leads should have been the pivot around which the plot revolved except it wasn't done well. Mostly, the FL gave off antagonistic vibes whenever she was with the ML. So, in a drama about wolves, hidden identities, and mysteries to solve, I need the script to show me a gradual and optimistic buildup of the lead relationship, however, this didn't materialize and I got increasingly annoyed at the slapstick comedy slash melodrama.I don't think the actors are to blame rather it was the script that gave nothing to work with.

ML and FL are extremely annoying. Show meant for teenagers
The TV show in question is not worth your time, as it has several issues that make it quite frustrating to watch. Firstly, the acting is extremely annoying and unconvincing, which can be quite jarring for anyone who is used to watching high-quality performances. Additionally, the script is poorly written, with a storyline that is both predictable and boring. It almost seems as if the show was produced with teenagers in mind, as the level of maturity exhibited by the characters and their interactions is quite low.Furthermore, the cast of the show is quite disappointing, with no stand-out performances or chemistry between the actors. This lack of chemistry makes it difficult to connect with the characters or become invested in their storylines. The sound effects used in the show are also quite distracting and can be quite grating on the nerves after a while.
I recognized the ML who played the emperor with Rosy Zhao in “oh my emperor” drama. It was nice, at first, to see him playing a more vivacious and lively character, until he became a spoiled brat. She was no better and her character was not at all convincing.
Overall, I would not recommend this show to anyone looking for a well-written and engaging drama. It is simply not worth your time, and you will likely end up feeling quite frustrated and disappointed after watching just a few episodes. Save your time and find something more worthwhile to watch.
