*sigh*

I was hooked until episode 4 or 5. Then it went downhill each episode it went by.
It was a mess. All stories were insanely poorly written.
Some actors credited here as "main actors" are nothing but secondary... the 2nd love story was beyond terrible. One of then is a coward and the other is obsessed with non-consensual kissing. The main story could be okay... no... jesus it could've been pretty solid, but the writers only got the premise right... after that was a disaster.

The worst part of it all? The last two eps. Painfully boring and with nothing but a nonsense and cheesy lines.
Some plots don't connect... it was a hot mess.

Honestly i've watched it all because i love In Seo Guk, if it had any other ML i would've drop it.
The rating i am giving is too high... but the first eps were indeed very powerful and the main leads showed immense potential. I'm so sad it turned out to be like this... just wow. The writers really lost their minds on this one.

Heartwarming Drama

The drama was highly anticipated prior its airing for obvious reason the leads are well known great actors. They proved everyone right, once again, in terms of acting.

Doom is similar to grim ripper characters very simple. So from ep 1 i kinda foresee the roller coaster ride of the romance. Ive watched many fantasy dramas they obviously fall on the same level. What makes this drama one of the best is how the leads delivered their characters and built the chemistry. Their eyes, facial expressions and dialogues really synched. After all the divided comments in this group, im very satisfied with the last 3 episodes and im glad i sticked to this drama till the end.

Ost as always is great.

Helpless God.

I had such high hopes for this drama. It started with much promise and interesting storyline but fizzled out before reaching half way. A woman with terminal diagnosis granted one wish and a supernatural being who doesn't care for the frail and selfish humanity.

Its supposed to have a touch of melodrama but it never got me pulled into the emotions. I didn't cry even once and I tend to be a water tap. Why? because the FL was lovely and adorable and did not convey the devastation well. The ML was like a blunted knife when he could be so much cooler and ruthless.

The story line was so flimsy on the premise of one wish and kept on going in circles with no plausibility of the anguish. The God was such a helpless creature that good luck to the rest of the poor world when she was unsure of what the fate of two people will turn out to be.

I got more invested in the second lead story line. They were gorgeous. I have always like the second ML so much and wondered why he didn't get better roles. This was good opportunity for him to shine. Alas the poor kissing at his part. I really hope he gets a better role and is able to widen his acting range.

This was the only recent drama that I watched as it was airing. I forgot when new episodes would come out near the end.

So underwhelming and loss of a great opportunity.

Neither here nor there

This was really difficult to get into, at times it was extremely frustrating and depressing. Even though ML were gorgeous and enough eye candy.

I found it really hard to get into the drama and the fact that there were 1 hour long episodes were also very long and often lose interest.

Overall it was boring to watch.

I did expect must more from this drama,

Won't be watching this again unfortunately they could have done a much better job considering they had a good cast

Truly disappointed and dissatisfied with the storyline

I have so many expectations about this drama but i'm truly disappointed for the storyline...like i thought there might have some plot twist in last few episodes but i was wrong...they literally can show something related to doom's past life, how he became a doom, what's with the funeral scene? the writer truly can make the story more interesting but they decided to make it a typical love story melodrama with a love triangle of second leads... Truly i'm disappointed, only the casts and their amazing acting and also the ost saved the show for me.

Boring........

Doom at your service is one of the most anticipated dramas of 2021 because of it amazing cast.First 2 episodes of the drama was good with Tak signing a contract with myul mang and thus potentially bringing doom to the world. Its quite good in first 3 episodes and downfall started. Its extremely boring from episode 6 to 12 and there after picks pace in 12 to 13 and then again falls. I comtemplated on dropping this one many times but continued just for the sake of cast.It has the potential to became a top drama with good plot line and cast and writer somewhat ruined it by going in circles and teasing us with a sad ending line.It has a love triangle of second leads.I especially like the part of young prince. The drama lacks a solid plot. They could have stopped the drama at episode 15 ,I will not have any complaints there ,episode 16 felt like some filler scenes and drama itself is a filler one.Despite having a good cast the drama is a failure. The hype it had around it dissolved into nothing. There has no depth to the characters and story goes back and forth with rom com cliches. You can skip a lot of scenes and I don't even know the point of having lee kyung after a point of time and tak brother got better story line and character development. In short if you want to waste your time, have a hard time with sleeping or love the cast take up the drama.DAYS wanted to be another goblin of dramaworld but failed even holding its basic plot. It is one of the forgettable dramas of 2021.

Had Potential to be Something Better Than Just a Mediocre Fantasy Drama

I would not really recommend this drama unless you are a fan of the main leads, then you could just skip a lot of scenes as I did or just have the time to pass.
SPOILERS
I originally started watching this drama for Seo In Guk. I also went into this drama with high expectations after seeing all the promotions and captivating trailers. It appeared to be a supernatural fantasy romance; my impression assumed it would be something good like Goblin or my love from another star, boy was I wrong! The drama started off as a fantasy rom/com that later reached to become a boring melodrama once the main leads got together. Episodes 1-6 were well written; however, it becomes pretty bad in episodes 7-15. I oddly liked episode 16, extremely cliché with the main leads getting back together, but the entire episode gave off good vibes like the earlier episodes in the drama.
If the writers intended to make the whole drama mediocre like this, it could have been cut to 12 episodes! 16 episodes were soo annoying, like there were so much unnecessary clichés added in the climax like amnesia and on and off breaking up.

PROS:
Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young’s chemistry- what keep me going from dropping the drama! Their chemistry felt so wasted from the bad script written :( I hope they reunite in a better project together!
The comedic brotherly relationship between Myeol Mang and Tak Seon Kyung!
The starting set up of discussing the destruction keeping balance with the good event role played in our world
The main leads cohabitation scenes when the FL discovered that their houses have been merged XD
The cinematography used with the supernatural fantasy scenes.
Seo In Guk’s divine acting expressions playing both Myeol Mang and human- despite the lackluster plot, he can really pull any role he’s given!!

CONS:
The story kept dragging on with long dialogues once the main leads got together- usually in drama for me, it’s supposed to be exciting to see drama couples get together after a long wait. BUT with DAYS, I felt the complete opposite!
I feel like DAYS had so much potential to be a great drama with the concept presented of the balance of destruction and good events placed in our world. I thought the drama would add to that is a better, interesting way. Instead, the drama just focused on the melodrama of the main lead's romance.
In some episodes, I didn't like the FL. I really like seeing Park Bo Young on screen. However, her character was sometimes annoying. A lot of times, she would make decisions on her own without telling Myeol Mang! Examples like breaking up without telling him she's leaving and making both herself and Myeol Mang forget they ever met. Like wtf, why does she not at least communicate any of these problems?!
The second lead love triangle was complete BS and super irrelevant to the drama plotline. I skipped almost all their scenes cause I just couldn't care less. I also hated the SML were close friends going after the same girl ;( If the writers really wanted to do a second lead love story, it could have been added nicely like what Goblin did with AT LEAST no love triangle and was relevant to the plot.
Plain ending- drama kept teasing that the main leads will get married, but what happened to that? At least show a scene where they get engaged :/
Giving no explanation to how Myeol Mang became a doctor as his human career. Are we just going to assume he magically gained all the knowledge from the Deity as well? Like realistically, it takes many years of college and med school for that. As a pre-med student, this was funnier than annoying honesty to me XD
This could have been a 6.5/10, but I’m giving the drama a 7/10. That's me being nice since I'm biased towards Seo In Guk. I hope someday Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young get a better project together in the future to make up for their chemistry wasted in DAYS.

This show is like being stuck sober in a room full of drunk first year philosophy students.
They think they're being logical, original and profound but they are most definitely not.

A mess of bad writing and romcom cliches, this show is nothing but a shallow cohabitation romcom. But instead of embracing its own trashiness, it instead delivers the whole thing with an air of earnest profundity that comes across as pretentious.

SIG and PBY are good, especially considering their characters (all the characters) are nothing but chalk outlines. But as well as the rudimentary characterisation and non-existent plotting, the dialogue is ridiculous and unintentionally hilarious. Nobody has actual conversations, they just intone non-sequiturs at each other.

Doom himself (played by a SIG who is always mesmerising somehow no matter what he's doing) is nothing but a walking one-dimensional metaphor signifying the bad things that happen in the world. Kind of the chaos in chaos theory, the randomness of an ultimately ordered system. He is rebelling against Order, known as the deity: an annoying child, terminally ill as this cycle comes to an end and the new one begins. He makes a deal with the terminally ill Tak Dong-kyung to doom the world in exchange for... something. The terms of this contract change in every second episode and even when you think you understand it, you realise it still doesn't make any sense.

The two fall in love or something, although the basis of this love appears to be "he's hot and all about her" and "she's literally the only human he's ever spoken to". Which is to say, they're not in love at all. In fact, for a show obsessed with romantic love, nobody in it seems to know what love is nor is there any believable love relationship in it. It's as shallow as the connection between our leads, which consists of a bit of hand holding, weird nonsensical conversations consisting entirely of allegory and metaphor, and the odd kiss.

The plot structure is like being stuck on a carousel, you look like you're moving but in the end you're back where you're started and the ride just keeps on going. Each week the two episodes bring our two leads back to where they were before the episodes aired. As an emotional journey, it's glacial. As a plot, it's mind numbing.

With the thin shell of bright glossy surface and hollow innards, this show is a Christmas tree ornament. It's super pretty, stylised and somehow antiseptic, doing nothing but decorate. Lacking any real warmth or heart but having a slick and polished exterior.

With this nonsense, Korean romcoms have finally reached peak derp.

The Storyline is Doomed

Throughout the voyage, the narrative is driven by three elements: love, hate, and pain. The monotony of the same road became tedious, and the interest rate dwindled. I felt that the narratives that began to emerge were too weak to hold the viewers' attention until the finish, and as a result, many individuals abandoned the series.

STORY- At first, the storey was pretty amazing, and viewers were equally enthralled. When both characters met, love blossomed, and the storey progressed well until the 11th episode, when the uninteresting plots began to derail the storey. I thought the love triangle between the supporting characters was unjust. Moreover, I pity Lee Hyun Gyu (kang Tae Oh), since he was such a nice and helpful person. Finally, the potential was completely wasted because the conclusion was unjustifiable in any way.

CAST - The cast was incredible, and the leads, Seo In Guk (Myul Mang/Doom) and Park Bo Young (Tak Dong Kyung), played major roles in maintaining my attention in the drama, whether through expressions, chemistry, or bonding. The supporting roles were also excellent.

The Family- For me, the most enjoyable thing was seeing the entire family together. The Aunt and newphews' love, as well as their Uncle's support and desire to keep and protect the family, melted my heart. The brother-sister relationship was fantastic, and I found it to be quite relatable. Na ji na's friendship with Tak Dong Kyung was also remarkable.

OSTs and production- The Songs perplexed me. Love Sight (TxT) and Breaking Down (Ailee) were two of my personal favourites from it, which I've been listening to on repeat recently. The background sounds were also very well-matched to the scenarios. I really admire the stunning cinematography used throughout the series.

What went wrong with the well crafted storey?
The plots weakened the tale, whether it was when she decided to erase all of her memories or when the Doom reappeared, as it was too obvious to occur. Plots began to appear incessantly after the 12th episode, and they were poorly managed.

Is it worthwhile to give it a shot?
Well, it depends on your preferred genre, but if you enjoy romantic and fantasy films, you should definitely give it a shot. OR, if you're a newcomer to the drama world, you can watch it right away (since newcomers to the drama world don't have high expectations at the start of their trip).

In few words –It had the potential to be a lot better.

At last a line from the show - “Love comes with Pain"

Icicle humor, icicle plot and sweet, sweet icicle love

Is it better to have loved and lost or to never have loved at all? well this drama attempts to answer that question in the most twisted way.

This obviously not a drama for everyone seeing it got allot of negative reviews but I liked it. Could they have gotten more of this cast with a slightly better story sure, but if you enter this with low expectations you will probably be as pleasantly surprised as I was, but if you are reading this then well that may just be ruined for you.

Things I loved: about 90% of the humor it is cold, a tad dark and hits just the right spots with me . Icicle men, Icicle woman, icicle humor... Humanity does make you wish for doom once in a while so it is nice to be able to see something that tells us dude people suck ... I loved the chemistry between more or less everybody. the little brother and ceo did have some annoying parts but they were short and easy to overlook. The male lead in the second couple is cool as an icicle can be and I love him for it! Bo Youn is as funny, sweet and great as always making me smile over and over again. Yes I may have a slight crush on her, and the rest of the cast is highly crushable compensating for the less interesting partes of the drama. .This drama shows great friendship and family bonds and does not really have any one to bring out your inner anger or frustration (I do not know if that is good or bad but it just is). The pace varied from to fast to way to slow to just right... so its a mix. The visuals where great and so was the OST.,. It has some several interesting twists but they are very well defined and easy to follow. Oh and their wardrobe and styling was great except for Dooms black pants that were not well fitted at all (it looked like he had a diaper on).

It does not have much new if you have seen things from this genre before but it is still enjoyable and made my heart flutter once or twice as well as tikel my laughing muskels.

So if you are in it for the fantasy sure you will probably hate it, if you are in it for the humor and fluff you will probably love it.

A Must Watch!

This has to be one of my best k-dramas. An Absolute Masterpiece! Everything about this drama is so remarkably wonderful. The characters, music, direction, literally Everything!! As someone who hated Mondays, never did I wait for them as much as I did for the 8 weeks the drama aired. And I don't regret dying of curiosity over and over again every week.

Plot - The story is deep. It's philosophical and hella beautiful. Some of the dialogues were so well written. The plotline might seem complicated at times but it'll eventually make sense. Although, some people did say the first half was interesting and that the plot went down in the later episodes *spoiler alert* especially about how the couple got together, separated, and again got back together, etc., and in my opinion, it was to show that no matter what happened they were destined to be together. Also, about the episodes which apparently were 'draggy' and 'boring', I admit the plot went downhill after the 8th episode but I'd prefer to see it as just another flaw for this almost perfect drama.
So if you think of dropping the show halfway through, Don't! Give it some time and I'm sure you'll enjoy and love it as much as I do.

Characters - I think the crew did an amazing job with the casting because I can't imagine anyone else playing the characters. Especially Seo In Guk. Honestly, he was Amazing! Nobody could have probably pulled off the character of Doom/Myul Mang better than him. Everybody was perfectly cast. They really played their parts so well. And the visuals, *chef's kiss*. Literally! Shoutout to the entire cast. Kudos to 'em all!
The chemistry between Myul Mang and Dong Kyung is so powerful!! I seriously need more of Park Bo Young and Seo In Guk. Maybe another drama, movie, or even a commercial, just anything. I could feel their chemistry oozing out from the screen. Both have had very good chemistry with their previous co-stars but these two together were literally something else.
Psst... If you can't seem to get enough of the two, you should definitely check out the behind-the-scenes posted on tvN's official YouTube channel. It's not sufficient, but it should satisfy the need a little. ; )

Music - Ah! The OSTs. I'm in love with every single of them. This is one of those dramas where all the soundtracks are sweet and melodious. The lyrics are heartfelt and deep, and the vocals beautiful but intense.

The graphics especially blew my mind. *Minor spoiler alert* Some scenes take place in Myul Mang's garden. These scenes were particularly fascinating because of the impressive graphics.
To wrap it up, if you're looking for something interesting to watch, don't let this one go. I already said it before but if you're on the verge of dropping it, please don't. Give it a second thought and continue watching it. Trust me, you're gonna enjoy it and you probably won't regret giving this a shot.
Happy Viewing!

"Ending like this is another name for destiny"

I went into this drama with expectations and ideas; I'd seen "Goblin" and "Tail of the Nine-Tailed", which were good, poignant stories and for this very reason, I grappled with the storyline of "Doom at Your Service" for the first four episodes. If the expectation is for the slightly formulaic, well written story, well, "Doom" is one of those in spades but throw out this drama belonging to a standard storyline. In fact, it's so well written, so subtle, it took those first four episodes for me to understand the heart of this show. What does it mean to love, to regret, to live, and to understand that an ending is imminent in all situations?

I'll start with the second stage characters and that is Cha Joo Ik (the editor), Lee Hyun Gyu (coffee shop owner) and Na Ji Na (the author). This is a love triangle in three ways: the love of two men who are closer than brothers, and their love for the same woman. A backstory usually bores me in a drama because the words or actions from the past are usually repeated in the present. Their story unwinds logically, emotionally with their present person wearing the emotional scars of past regret. The friend who betrayed his brother, the woman who vainly searched for a boyfriend lost, the boyfriend who chose to hide rather than face pity. What unfolds is a slice of life that never preaches but displays emotions for the loss of love, of chances, of bonds broken. I've been riveted to the screen with every scene.

The deities of Doom and So Nyeo Shin also have an interesting dynamic. One is the creator and forgives, the other is the judgement and destroys and between them, there is an envy of the other's ability. Their balance and existence is born from humanity but the lack of an ending exhausts and bores Doom. He is the witness to the worst and pities the other deity's existence as she bears the burden of those sins throughout time. At episode 14, I still cannot figure out if there is compassion, affection or disdain for the other's presence

The last to be mentioned is the relationship between Doom and Tak Dong Kyung. Park Bo Young's character struggles through life, relationships and responsibility. Her first meeting with Doom (Seo In Guk) is not love at first sight but rather loathing that needs to turn into affection. His regard for her is one apathy and slight amusement for a person that threw her fate into a wish upon his name. They grow into a relationship and by the time they regard one another with affection, I know longer realize they are performers in a part. The acting craft in the drama is exhibited with flawless execution by all parties and again, by episode 14, there is not one emotion on the screen that I don't feel internally as a viewer.

"Doom At Your Service" is not a feel good drama but one that asks questions and then subtly answers them. I have a feeling that viewers will either find it thought provoking or dropped but ultimately, this story will resonate with me for a long time. What is fate through decision and what is fate unavoidable is something tackled in this story and I'll be interested to see what the last two episodes bring to the table.
