A pawnbroker is found murdered in a remote town. Police suspect that he was murdered by an acquaintance, as even the most experienced investigator on the case could identify no signs of resistance. Three people come under suspicion but all of them have perfect alibis and the investigation comes to a standstill. One year later, one of them is found dead and the original murder case becomes even more mysterious. They are two very different adaptation (a korean and a Japanese) of the same book. It's the same story, even though to me "Into the White Night" is better.

Central to both is a love story and depicts how far one would go to protect the one they love. They have different settings and took on slightly different directions but felt of similar intensity.

Kimura Takuya plays Ito Naoki, a mysterious man that seems to have some special childhood connection with Oba Minako. But she lost her memory long ago and doesn't really remember anything about her childhood or him.

Naoki knows almost everything about Minako and secretly invites her to the "Sleeping Forest". From there on their story begins, into a dark and romantic drama.

Urashima Eiji is a university student and his father is a serial murderer. One day, he realises that he is suffering from a dual personality disorder and worries that his other personality may have committed murder. This leads him to begin investigations to find out the truth.

Her only friend is police officer Rok Hwan, who has had a crush on her since childhood. One day, Je In hears a scream of help from an apartment upstairs and reports that a serial killer lives above her but no one believes her. Convinced that Jason, the handsome man living upstairs, is a serial killer, she asks Rok Hwan to help follow him around with her. But as she learns more about Jason in her pursuit to uncover the truth, she begins to fall for him. Seeing her in this state, Rok Hwan feels a tinge of jealousy.
