An original coming of age drama with moving characters.
Begins ≠ youth is a great coming of age drama with heavy subject matter. Amazing cast of actors. The actors are mostly rookies but delivered strong performances. The depth in which the main characters are written is commendable. They managed to juggle a big cast while not leaving out any character's arcs. I liked the deliberate slow pacing of the drama. It suits the story.
Works as a prequel and adaptation of the save me webtoon.
Some episodes drag out a lot in pacing specifically 6 and 7. But it picks up afterward. The best episodes are 4, 8,9, 11 and 12.
Overall a very engaging watch. The story is incomplete, so there is hope for a season 2 to wrap up the plot.

"Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means I’ll miss you until we meet again."
This drama is a one-of-a-kind experience that truly stands out. The actors gave phenomenal performances by portraying the characters and capturing the mannerisms of the BTS members with remarkable accuracy. Their dedication and attention to detail made the characters come alive, adding depth and authenticity to the story.Although it spans only 12 episodes, some viewers might find the plot occasionally draggy. However, for those who appreciate slow-paced dramas, this could be a positive thing. Personally, I found the pacing enjoyable, as it allowed for a more thorough exploration of the storyline. Plus, I had a personal attachment to the storyline (it reminded me of the old times when I used to draw flow charts trying to solve the BU mystery ?).
One of the best things about this drama is how it sticks to the original storyline, which fans like me will definitely appreciate. The flawed characters blend harmoniously, crafting a drama that feels genuine and raw. It's what makes this drama feel so... authentic, you know? Perfectly imperfect, just like life itself.

If ur a bts army it's going to hit hard ?
I decided to watch this series mainly because of BTS and my curiosity about the BTS Universe (BU) storyline. The BU is known for its complex characters, intense situations, and deeply interwoven plots, which can be challenging to piece together just from music videos and short clips. Watching the series brought so many of these elements to life and added new layers to the story that I hadn’t fully understood before. It was an incredible experience to see the characters’ struggles, friendships, and growth unfold in a more detailed way. Now, I’m hooked and can’t wait for Season 2 to see what happens next and how the mysteries and relationships evolve!

A beautiful story about hope and despair
This drama was so beautiful, I was gonna pass on watching it because I saw too many spoilers LOL. But I am glad I didn't.I absolutely loved this drama, it became one of my favorites. They wrote it so beautifully and complex.
This drama dealt with many issues that many people struggle with. The story about these seven boys was so beautiful but yet so tragic. Each character was so compelling and complex that you just had to know what was gonna happen to them. I knew what I was getting myself into but I choose to watch it; I don't regret it one bit.
The struggles of each boys were so heartbreaking, the only people who could let them escape from their struggles for a bit were each other. I personally loved the friendship of each of the boys, they showed such a beautiful friendship between them.
I really loved the friendship between Jeha and Cein, their friendship was so interesting and I would like to know how they became friends. I loved each and every character in this story out of the seven boys.
The acting of the boys was so amazing, they are such good actors; I hope they get the recognition that they deserve.
The last two episodes broke my heart into pieces but so did the other ten episodes, each episode when they showed the tragic struggles that each boy was going through I felt like crying and most times I did. I knew the ending would be tragic, but not that tragic, I was up until 12am watching it and I cried my heart out. My heart hurts so much thinking about how the drama ended for the boys. They went through all that struggle for them to not have a happy ending. That is so tragic, my heart breaks for the boys.
I really hate the principal, why can't he leave Cein and everyone else alone.
Almost all the boys parents I disliked so much , especially Haru's I hated them so much, and Hwan's dad was so horrible. I didn't really like Jeha's mom, I know she wanted her and Jeha to have place in the family, I understand that, but Jeha was obviously not that happy with what was happening, and I know he wanted to have a place in the family too. My heart breaks for the struggles that he went through same with Haru and Hwan. Haru suffered so much, and endured so much and all he wanted was to be understood by his parents and brother, but they couldn't even do that. His family made his condition worsen so much to the point where he got. And for him to try to commit suicide so he can get away from his parents is just so heartbreaking. Hwan wanted to be a good son to his dad, but he couldn't take it anymore and once he met the boys he started to finally be able to breathe away from his dad, but that even got taken away from him. My boy Cein, he suffered so much prejudice, he was at his breaking point towards the end of the show, and my heart broke for him when he had that talk with his dad in the last episode. And what happened with his mom, oh man my heart is broken for him. He just wanted to be understood too, and not be treated like a criminal, whenever something happened everyone pointed their fingers at him, that is just unfair. He isn't even a cold person, he is a warm and sweet boy.
Hosu, he's always so positive and kind he doesn't want people to worry about him so he doesn't tell anyone his problems. Even when he is struggling he doesn't tell anyone, he keeps it too himself so he doesn't worry or bother anyone. His story was so heartbreaking. He just wanted people to care about him, he just wanted to be loved. The talk with him and Dogeon was so heartbreaking. I cried so much. The poor boy.
Jooan, the poor boy he was struggling so much with the abuse of his dad, and him wanting his old family back, he was holding onto the happy memories of his family, but in reality he needed to let go of his dad. His dad has had too many chances and he doesn't even bother to get help and change he stays the same. The scene where Jooan brings his dad to his mom and sister, that wasn't a smart move, I understand that he wanted them all to be a family again, he was so pure and wanted his dad back. But in the end, it won't work like that, his dad is far gone now.
Dogeon had so much responsibilities that were piled on top of him and he couldn't bear it all. He tries to bear it all, but when he finally breaks down in front of Jooan and then in front of his mom, those scene broke me. He was a kid, trying to work for his family, even when his family was suffocating him with all those responsibilities.
Anyway, this review is getting so long lol. I'll stop it here. This is my first review of a drama lol.

No tears left to cry
Unexpectedly reached top1 of my KTRAUMA list. This review is just me wanting to kms.Bounds between characters are too deep, their pain too real. Cinematography is beyond incredible and beautiful. Quotes hit home and i relate way too much with my boys. The acting crushed me. I hope they all succeed in their future project because their talent left me with no word to express what i felt.
I had no knowledge of BTS and the universe it's inspired from so i couldn't be disappointed but now i wanna learn more. jooan, haru, cein, jeha, hosu, dongeon and hwan changed the trajectory of my life.
It took me DAYS to dare watch last episode cuz the trauma was too big kdkdjxks. gonna kms in front of the writers tbh.

Beautiful drama about friendship and youth.
First of all, the plot can be simple if you think about it in terms of 7 different individuals being friends. It was beautiful watching them become friends and how the friendships evolved with time. All of their stories are engaging in their own ways, and when the story cannot advance more they just let it go, like it happened with Jeha's and Hwan's backstories.
Acting is extremely on point, I am amazed by how well the 7 boys actors played their roles. Specially Jung Woojin, the boy is extremely unlucky with his acting projects, first of all this one is released in an obscure website that probably has many people not watching, and second, his Aquaman drama is in the limbo due to financial issues. I hope the future is bright for Woojin, the guy made me cry with his backstory.
What I really made me go sad it's the fact that due to the mess this drama has become with the constant reshoots, I heavily doubt we will see season 2, and I think it was calling for a season 2 badly. I know the whole time travelling plot is really complicated in the original story, but I feel we got so many loose ends towards the end, to be completely satisfied. And while I get Hwan manages to time-travel and go back to when they were all friends, and still keeps his memories, I don't know I feel it would have been interesting to watch him try to save his friends. I still don't get why he decided to kill Ceein's mom all the same.

Plot bulid up was everything until the end.
I didnt expect much from the actors to carry the same characteristics to the OG but damn theyproved me wrong. Each of the actors have caught on
to the BTS members details according to the webtoon. Really ecstatic and heartwarming. Really really nostalgic and
heartwarming. This drama is a thriller but a very sad and sorrowful one. Don't know if you can call this a thriller. Because it doesn't give you thrill rather anxiety. Every moment when something is going alright, I fear something might drastically make things worse. It is really heartbreaking. Every one the boys is ruined in their own ways. This series really plays with your heart and does it so well. This was quite an emotional drama. So many things were so crying worthy. It definitely is a depressing series. Them reuniting was only a little hope before everything collapsed. I have to say that the drama was very impactful with all the sadness making it for the viewers to keep watching for the good to come. Only for them to end it on the sea side again. There was no saving, no redemption, no vengeance. They did answered some questions but left many unanswered. The ending was meant to be hopeful but it felt empty. I would have liked it if they took the same plot from the save me webtoon instead they left it on an empty note for the viewers to figure out. The end had to be impactful but it left me empty wanting for more. All the while this final episode I was waiting for something good to happen. Kept looking at the watch time as they showed all the boys little segments and how the note had keywords written about them. But no solution. The keywords were the same what we all happened to know already. I know the part of salvation, they showed it in glimpses of how he contacted some of the boys like jeha and jooan and dogeon in his plan. The unknown guy was Hwan obviously. But the exemption, the good parts weren't shown. They were needed. As a BTS ARMY, I might figure out a few of the nuances in the series. But a regular watcher would not know whats even happening. Wasted potential of the original work, the excellent actors and everything.
The built up was great only to leave onto the viewers to figure out the happy ending.
Lastly shout out to all the actors, be it the boys or the parents or the Hwan's ahjussi, everyone has done a commendable job at their parts. Only for the little lacking end, its a shame it had a lot of potential to be a great series.

Started with a cliffhanger ends with cliffhanger
I really salute BTS and bang pd nim for coming up with such an amazing story how the hell did bighit planned this even before BTS did not debut . Damn I am amazed .Bighit released three parts webtoon game and kdrama . Kdrama contains what actually happened in the past and how everything started . Webtoon offers what happens after that the beginning of time travel and game gave the same thing as webtoon but more in detail . We never really got the actual ending I hope there can be a season 2 where we can see what actually happend after that . Cmon bighit it has been 10 years when will you give us the ending . If this kdrama would be on Netflix or viki this would be the most streamed kdrama of all time and more chances of season 2 cmon BTS come back fast and give us the ending I have waited so long how more I have to wait.
Those who don't know anything start with webtoon then watch kdrama then you can watch BTS mv and trailers for more details and you can also read notes it's available on Wattpad .

You should watch this masterpiece!
i've been waiting for this show to come out since 2019, and everyhthing about this drama is truly masterpiece. Also big applause for the entire cast did such a great job, I hope they make another season.
If you are confused about the storyline, you should read ‘hyyh’ theory from BTS Universe and 'save me' webtoon.

Brilliant
I agree with another commenter that this show really hits home if you’ve ever had a rough time as a kid or teenager. After watching it, I couldn’t even talk to my mom for a while—it’s tough on a broken heart. It reminds me of Universe 25. It feels like there’s no escape for young guys these days, getting knocked down by the older ones and society. And a lot of women are out there hoping to find a nice guy. If guys are being weakened, what kind of future can we expect? I’m saying this as a mother, and it’s really worrying. So sad. I hope society will wake up one day.Was this review helpful to you?
a must watch to every ARMY
i love the story and how we have seven characters to love and live with through everything, i cried a lot and I laughed each time they were altogether happy, i miss my seven boys so much and this is the best way to relive my journey with them, the background stories of each member have no relation to their real-life but these stories exist and anyone one of us can live it that's why it's so realistic and warm. i cant wait to watch every ep and enjoy this beautiful kdrama.PS: we need more BTS OSTS lol.
