Both feature a struggling musician who falls in love with a younger girl through music. The Liar and his Lover is more dramatic and talks about dealing with fame/forbidden love, while Fight Song is more about two people who’ve been having difficulties in life discovering new beginnings and falling in love for the first time.

both directed by the same director...those shots, that cinematography and the background music will feel the same. Kanojo is more mainstream and taiyou no uta is more indie but nontheless both yui and sakurako are tremendous singers.

Music, romance, very sweet characters. Kanojo wa Uso Wo Aishisugiteru is a bit more mature and slightly melodramatic (but only very slightly). Make sure you watch until after the credits ;) while Ai Ore! Is more superficial and scripted to fit the label 'cute' (as with many manga adaptations)

Similar stories with musical theme. A "musical drama" interspersed with a story, reminiscent of the Disney series.
