Objectively average but I really enjoyed the second half despite it's flaws
They really need to fix the synopsis of this because the final story is nothing like what is described above (and what I've seen elsewhere). It’s important to note with this one that the final cut of the series is definitely not what the creators obviously envisioned. The filming of the series was disrupted majorly by Covid- which caused a major, sudden change in the story and cast 3/4 of the way through the episodes. Because of this I like to consider this show as two standalone, separate stories (Part 1 and Part 2). As both are so different, in my opinion you’re likely to like one or the other but maybe not both. (I personally found Part 1 quite boring, but really enjoyed Part 2 as its own cute, romantic story).Part 1 – This is ep 1-8 which was filmed before the major crisis interrupted filming. Here we have Cupid/Nite 1 as the love interest. The story ends with a cliff-hanger which I’m pretty sure all of us expected to be dealt with way differently to what we ended up with in Part 2. I personally ended up enjoying the way Part 2 went though- so I thought this shift was an improvement in the end (even if the story and setting shift was jarring).
The production value in Part 1 is so low it's hard to watch at times. There are scenes in this part that made me laugh so hard. Now I’m ngl, they weren’t intended to be funny scenes- but the cringe is just so funny at times that I actually ironically enjoyed it. Like wholly shiz, there is a scene in Ep.4 where it looks like someone literally throws a bucket of water in Tae’s face when they’re standing in the middle of a pond??
There is no explanation for it other than them then saying "oh no it’s raining" after that. Like rain doesn’t come sideways and throw itself out of a pond directly into one person’s face?! OMG I DIED. And the horrible, shaky pan of the camera as they walk down the pier moments before that. And moments after the water to face moment, they run back down the pier to get out of the “rain”. And there is visibly no rain in the zoomed out shot. Literally. Priceless.
The story is pretty bad and nonsensical in general. Very little happens and tbh I’d recommend watching at double speed until Part 2 (when Nite 2 comes in). The first episode is especially hard to get through with the level of cringe and boredom it entails.
Some extra cons:
-The music is very average and I swear I’ve heard some of the songs in other low budget stuff so I’m guessing there are some royalty free or very cheap tracks in there.
-Having Cupid (IE. Nite 1) act like a plank of wood did absolutely no one any favours (that or Nite one can’t act well?).
-The sub quality is also not the best. It’s still watchable and understandable- but I always find the flow of scenes a bit more awkward and less effective when the subs aren’t good.
Part 2 – This is ep 9-12 which was filmed a time after Part 1 and a lot of the original actors were no longer available for it. Part 2 is the aftermath of the cliff-hanger in Part one and is set some period of time later. The issue we left Part 1 with was never resolved- so in this part we see the main character (Tae) attempting to cope with their feelings and move on when they meet Nite 2 (with a new actor playing him where the char itself is dif too). So the last 4 eps pretty much solely focus on Tae and the new Nite.
The production value for these episodes is way better. The main char’s styling and haircut is WAY better. Nite 2 is much more charming and likeable in my opinion (also very attractive). I thought the actor for Nite 2 had a special something about him, which is probably half the reason I ended up enjoying just watching him romance the main character for four eps. (He’s in an upcoming BL called Love Area and I am keen af for that after seeing him here!).
Even though the ending is defs not what you’d expect going into this series, I actually liked it a lot. I thought it was a nice ending on its own that is rarely shown in BLs that mostly heavily rely on finding your “one true love” (usually their first love) and that’s it. It was nice to see a BL where the char moves on when their first love is lost and finds happiness again with someone else- because to me that is more realistic.
I have to say overall this is a pretty average show, but despite all of its flaws - I thoroughly enjoyed Part 2 of the series. I can see myself rewatching part 2 at some point bc it was so cute!

The beginning was the best
I liked this series at the beginning. But after a couple of episodes you see that the acting is not that great and that the storylines are actually so predictable. The only original part is the whole cupid part, which was very funny to me, but the last few episodes are just so boring. Like almost nothing happens in the last few episodes they just go to restaurants and sometimes to a beach or soccer practise. The serie is not horrible, but I will not rewatch this because the serie just is not interesting or does not stand out in any way besides the cupid part at the beginning. And also I find it weird that there is a new Nite out of the blue after Morganite dissappears. I dont know how it will end but I will watch it till the finale because im curious haha xdWas this review helpful to you?
Peaked in the middle
Okay so the first episode was pretty bad. The story wasn't really being conveyed well, the production was not great, and the acting and chemistry between the characters wasn't great to the point where it took a while to understand character relationships. However, the following episodes sort of improved, the story and relationship between the characters was more clear and some drama was added into the show to make it a bit more interesting. But now we've gotten to the tail end of the drama (Ep 8- 11), the show has become boring and disappointing again. The last few episodes have really lost anything interesting the show had to offer, and each of the scenes are dragging. I'm super curious to see for the last episode what they do to conclude this series.
Also, I was initially annoyed with the writing of the feminine gay characters in the show. BLs have this annoying trope of including feminine gay character on the show that have little to no substance. They just hit on the other guys and catch insults.
So, do I recommend you watch this show? It's up to you really. Are there better BL shows you could watch ahead of this one? 100%; but if you haven't got anything to watch this may be the show for you. I'll update my review once I've finished the show.

There's Good and Bad!
This series has an interesting premise and some potential to be good. The series is made up of two parts and what is lacking in the first 8 episodes is made up for in the last four.
They switched actors, of course because of covid this series was put on hold and then came back. Honestly, I would have started over with the first episodes and had the second Nite all the way through the series, he pulled off his character better than the first Nite, whose acting was a little lacking.
The main lead was really cute and a good actor, I think he carried the whole series. The story, scenery, everything including the production seemed so much better in the last four episodes.
It was good to have a male lead who was honest and open about his sexuality from the start. There were characters that grated, but they were not in many scenes, two of the male characters made me angry because they were not open and honest with everyone from the start, but it was also pretty realistic in terms of how some people behave. Using others to hide their secrets.
I think the series has some thought-provoking moments, and while it could have been better, I think it deserves a better rating than what it has gotten.
I will probably watch this again at some point in the future when I am bored and have exhausted all the up and coming bl's.

Interesting --> zzzzz --> Interesting and Cute
This show gets an extra whole star, from 5.5 to 6.5, due to the last four episodes. COVID messed up a whole lotta plotlines, but for me this ain't one of them. I don't know if the plan was always to re-cast one specific role, but there was significant improvement in acting quality because of this. Also, the focus finally shifted almost completely to the main characters who had detrimentally shared waaay too much screentime with the side characters, imo.Episode one was interesting for the fantasy setup, while episodes 2 - 8 felt like nothing much really happened. The runtime is bloated by unecessarily long shots of... nothing. Frequently the nothing is in slo-mo.
- Everyone awkwardly hanging out together with long periods of silence
- Characters walking around and/or sadly staring for minutes on end... in slo-mo
- Montage after montage... in slo-mo. So much of the romance was presented in montage format that I didn't even realize the characters had fallen in love until an unexpected exchange of kisses.
A new actor is introduced in episode 9, and (excepting the intimate scenes) he just blew me out of the water. I couldn't believe it was the same guy from Love Area AND this show is predates Love Area. He had more chemistry with the main character just with the look on his face after opening the bathroom door than the original did in all of the previous episodes combined.
The intimate scenes though... yikes. Most of them almost, ALMOST hit Don't Say No-levels of awkwardness. ? Also, the last four episodes are similar to the first in that very little happens, but the second part of the show goes nowhere in an adorable fashion. So cute!

Huh?
This wasn't the best show I've ever seen, but at least it didn't follow the cookie cutter outline of so many Thai shows. It didn't have all those repeated milestones most shows have like two people that hate each other then POW! or people falling and keeping their faces together for 5 minutes without moving...? "I'm not Gay. I just happened to fall in love with a guy. Love is love." (The first time I heard that, I was impressed and moved. The 50th time, I was rolling my eyes and irritated. Anyway, it didn't have all those things, so for that alone, I liked it.You kind of knew from episode 1 how the story would end, but you knew it was a happy ending, so forge ahead. Well, a Covid time warp in real life separated the show at episode 8 and oddly, a different show began in episode 9. It honestly feels like two separate shows. I don't know what happened to Peace (Nite1) but now there's Pak (Nite2). Episode 9 and most of 10 was lost on me because I found myself just saying 'Huh?' the whole time. I annoyed even myself. I imagines thousands of viewers laughing at me for not knowing what was going on. Nite1 was lovely if not a bit stiff. Nite2, also lovely and very reminiscent of Nite1. That added to the confusion. Tee(Tae) went from looking like a kid to looking older with an adult body and blonde hair and very good looking. Anyway... here are the best choices... 1-think of it as two completely separate shows or 2- just watch episodes 9-12 and call it a day.
The OST "When Love Is Right" is very Thai drama OST-ish but amongst them very good and catchy.
Ratings:
Story was low because it gave me a headache.
Acting: I can't say problems in this weren't the director's fault and don't want to be hurtful to the actors.
Music: OST and some interesting use of music were good.
Rewatch: For me.. .no.
Overall: went above suggested to 7 because I did watch every episode

It's not THAT bad
I started watching the cupid coach with very low expectations since a lot of people said it's hard to watch, but tbh I'm kinda enjoying it.All people's complaints are probably true and maybe I like it because I don't get bothered that easily, but idk... It's not that bad.
Yes, it feels low budget (and probably it is) and very amateur, but yeah people have to start somewhere. The main plot it's actually very interesting and I'm sure that this plot in the hands of an experienced director with more money would end up in an amazing series. I won't belittle the actual staff tho and I thank their effort to make this series anyways. There's a lot of pointless scenes that could be cut and the secondary couple has almost zero chemistry (they are also kinda annoying), but I like the main couple very much. The chemistry is there, they are both cute and I just love Nite's clueless expressions lol.
Unfortunately there're some sentences with no subs, but you can still get through it.
You can give it a chance if you feel like doing it, but do it with an open heart lol.

Was this review helpful to you?
Review ini akan fokus ke cerita & acting para actor
Aku sudah menonton series ini sampai eps 11 which is 1 eps lagi tamat tapi disini yang sedikit membingungkan adalah kenapa plot ny tidak disusun secara demikian rupa1. Plot/alur berantakan
2. Di awal eps tertata tetapi makin kesini makin kurang jelas alur cerita nya
6. Acting aktor nya mungkin karna tergolong newbie masih ada sedikit awkward, kurang feel dan chemistry ny kurang sedikit karna Y series it's not just about a boys fall in love with other boys and then they had a kiss on the bed no.... Of course not Y series lebih dari itu tapi actor yang ada dalam series ini sudah cukup memuaskan hanya perlu berlatih dan berlatih lagi pasti akan sukses nantinya , and for onzon team hope you read this you can translate this to a thai language because this is really really important for next project of you guys hope can be more ready be more amazing be more than this i trust you onzon ????
