A complete satisfying BL movie ever!

First of all, I haven't ever watched Senjou no Bokura (mini series). So I don't have other thing to compare.
But, alas, this movie is undoubtedly incredible. Beg my pardon, I think this movie is just low-budget low-quality underrated movie that no one suggests me to watch it, but now … I will let this movie director and producer to slap me on my face at the same time if I ever said that again. I don't exaggerate it.

This movie is a whole thing you can comprehend as a gays or fujoshis. There are sadness, cry, anxiety, confusion, pride, happiness, laughter, acceptance, and amazement in one package. You will not be overwhelmed by the plot or the flow, but you will not yawn in boredom too. Everything is sequentially organized at right time and right place. This movie illustrates enough the reality of gay struggle in this decade. You will find yourself relate to any of character's aspect. No one's doing good, but no one's wrong either. More or less, it can widen your perspective.

STORY
This movie delivers very great story. Characters get quite few background stories but those few are the most important. Like I said, we can relate to the story, characters, and events. All in the movie can happen too realistically. It begins with itty-bitty event that seems not particular, grows to love roller coaster, and finally faces the conflicts and climax.

ACTING/CAST
Main leads are impressive. Shirasu Jin portrayal of Itou's burdens pretty good, as well as Itou's lust. Nishi's cuteness and innocence are clearly showed too by Raiku's performance. I have no problem at all in the cast selection.

MUSIC
Firstly I thought that this movie will use fully Japanese songs. All the musics always enhance the emotion conveyed in the scenes. They are catchy too. Music department is worthy enough to get salary raise.

REWATCH VALUE
Umm, I think I must end my review. I will watch this movie again. You can join me. *wink*

A Solid 10

It's been quite a while since I saw the series and I honestly can't recall what score I gave it, but having watched the Director's Cut with only a partial recall of the plot I found it highly enjoyable. Like most BL dramas this remains primarily a bromance relationship, but I'm fine with that. I find graphic, simulated sex scenes (same or opposite sex) are unnecessary and often cringeworthy. There is a brief and romantic bed scene at the end, which I think is new. It's tastefully done and appropriate for the story. What earns a Solid 10 is the unusual ending. We have a brief montage of Akira and Yuuki's happy bromance from 39 to 40, then we fast forward to age 82 where a patient named Yuuki Itou is in the hospital. He has 2 rings, so we know one partner has already passed, but the inference is it wasn't so long ago that the survivor moved on and forgot about him. I say this is unusual because same-sex relationships tend to be portrayed as something that won't last. And this ties up the metaphor of connecting the dots (Akira and Yuuki) and following life's path to the end of the line. It's not clear from the patient name which one survived to the end, but apparently it's Yuuki who took Akira's Surname. Maybe someone else can clarify. That being the case, it's not in keeping with the promise Akira made not to leave Yuuki ever again (also Akira is the main character), so maybe I got it backwards. But that's just a minor complaint. I hope this is released on BluRay because it's a keeper for repeat viewings. Well done!

Is it really a good BL if you don't cry ?

I just finished watching this movie, and let me tell you, I did not waste any of my time AT ALL.

When I watched it, I didn't watch any preview or read the summary; I didn't even look in the comments. So that said, the whole movie was a surprise, I didn't know the plot or the main characters.

The plot and the story was so well written, I was hooked from the beginning. Nothing was too slow, but nothing was too fast either, they moved at a normal pace. Every single time I thought something bad was going to happen, I was wronged, for example, when Akira's sister found out about Yuki, I thought she was going to be disrespectful and hatful, but on the contrary, she was supportive and proud that he was living his life as himself. With basic logic, I knew something bad was going to happen around the middle of the movie, and this time I was right. That's also when I started crying, and never stopped. Call me a cry baby but it really did break me in pieces. The more it went on, the more it hurt to watch. The fact that they added the characters from "HIStory 3: Make our days count" around the end made me cry even more, adding them was really a great idea and I love it.

For the cast/acting/characters

Let me applaud them for their amazing work. The actors did so well in portraying the emotions and everything looked so raw.
Yuki's character was the one that spoke the most to me. It may be because we have similar personalities, but everyone was just so amazing in this movie. When they broke down crying, I cried with them, I could feel the emotion through my screen. I'm going to have to watch other stuff with them in it because honestly, I love them.

The rewatch value is a big 9.5 because the other 0.5 is for the times I don't want to cry. I will certainly be rewatching this in the near future, this film is addicting and one of a kind and truly unparalleled.

The most beautiful and satisfying ending in drama's EVER created

The entire movie was astonishing and awe-inspiring, with a lovely love story.❤ But what made this movie unparalleled and in a class of its own was it's extra-ordinary ending. Many BL movie endings are sad, but this one has a happy ending. Many BL series have happy endings, but those endings are unsurpassed by this ones. Many normal series and movies have happy endings, but this movies ending was the most SATISFYING and FULFILLING out of the hundreds of dramas I watched. It showed acceptane of LGBT, warmth and friendliness between different races and how harmonious a family can be despite everyones differences. It was a SENSATIONAL ending that made me cry of joy, especially that last scene...it displayed death in such a beautiful and wonderous way that I have literally just been inspired to write a poem about it. BEST ENDING OF THE CENTURY.
Director-San...can I marry you?❤ Oh wait u are married...nvm...in your next life...if possible pls reincarnate in a handsome boys body that is my age...????

THIS IS SO GOOD WTF

I am literally bawling my eyes out. WHY THE FUCK DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO WATCH THIS??????? Literally masterpiece. I am bawling my eyes out. I actually never cry while watching a movie but this just got me. To grow old with your lover and to die peacefully and live together in heaven ahhhhhhhhhhh my eyes is becoming a waterfall. The story is so good, so sweat and so beautiful. I will never forgive myself for putting this on hold for so long. At first I thought it would be some cheesy highschool bl but it was not at all. This is beautiful. JBL definitely knows how to punch your gut. I will always have high hopes for JBL. They really know how to give us Q U A L I T Y. literally one of the best jbl ever. If you haven't watched this go do it right NOW. Not even a request but a threat. Drop whatever you are doing a watch it NOW.

Wow so beautiful

one of the best films I've seen in a while.
The story was really beautiful though at times heartbreaking. not heartbreaking enough to not be worth watching though. it soothes your wounds afer making them and I ended this with happy tears.

it dealt with some really raw deep subjects in a very real and good way I felt.
honestly? I didn't think it would be this good going into it. so if you're wondering whether to watch it simply just do!

also the cinematography and symbolism is just perfection.

deft, realistic love story

How is it possible to tell a true love story in only 4 eps of 30mins ea.? So often BL is limited to this size. Let Ninomiya Takashi show you how: deftly, economically, realistically, beautifully, with two supertalented actors and one hell of a screenwriter. Watch, watch this.

Only one caveat and a stupid one because so much has to be intimated and inferred in such a short piece; I cannot think of any portion of this I would like to excise in order for Itou to truly seek forgiveness at a certain point, but for Nishi's sake I wish I could.

Un BL tranquilo y realista.

¡Hola, gente bella!
