The New Yoshiwara pleasure district, in the twilight years of the Edo Period. Popular prostitute Asagiri will soon be freed from her indentured service. It is believed that when a person dies, their soul spends 49 days in Jungcheon, or Purgatory before their eternal fate is decided - heaven, hell or rebirth. That's where accomplished demon hunter Yi Kwak finds himself as he lies on the edge of death in our world. Blessed with astounding swordsmanship and the uncanny ability to see the evil spirits invisible to most, Yi enlisted with the royal squad of elite demon exterminators, the Chuhyongdae, following his fiancee's tragic death. In Jungcheon, he finds Yon Hwa again, but she does not recognize him - she is a spirit of the afterlife now, severed from earthly memories. Moreover, she is deeply entangled in a great war between the white-clad warriors of reincarnation and a swarm of dark spirits determined to forever shatter the cycle of life and death. The battle is desperately close to a terrifying conclusion, so Yi must draw his sword to defend the woman he loves and all they hold dear - and confront the same soul that was once like a father to him.

Hong Shim's family is brutally murdered with the exception of her and her older brother as they escaped. They're later separated as her brother hides her and uses himself as bait to lure away the people sent to kill their family away from her. He ends up being caught and is forced to work for the same person who kills his family in order to protect his sister. Crown prince Lee Yul or Won Deuk (the name he is given by Hong Shim's adopted father after he finds him with his memories gone) set a decree as a crown Prince before losing his memories that every single woman 28 and older must marry. And because of this law combined with his memory/ identity loss, he becomes Hong Shim's husband due to a lie her father spun out and she played along with to avoid being flogged.

Zhu Yan Zhi, disguised as a man, seeks to learn martial arts with an elite clan. Once she begins her intense training, Zhu finds herself at odds with her trainer and superior, Liang.

Miki Ogawa yearned to live the life of a lovely girl and moved to the city from the countryside because of this. She holds a job at a fashion mail order company. Miki Ogawa also has a secret. She is transgender. Although she has a pretty woman's appearance, her sex is male. One day, Tadaomi Goto appears in front of Miki Ogawa. They graduated from the same high school. Tadaomi Goto is flustered by Miki's different appearance, but they happen to become roommates.

Both shows share the same energy and a few of the same actors. Please watch both to be the judge? It's almost canny. I get a sense of where the show will go based on similar dramas, but Mr. Queen definitely gives the same vibes.

Episodic saga from the first half of the 20th century follows Hero Hua from an ill-omened June day in his youth to a showdown 17 years later with a disaffected member of his martial-arts school, a Japanese named Invincible. Tensions between Chinese and Japanese, plus U.S. racism, mark the tale. Hero marries Jade, leaves her in China when he goes to America as an indentured servant, rebels against cruel labor conditions, and is joined by her in New York City where she has twins. Jump ahead 16 years: their son Sword comes to New York looking for his father. There, Sword hears many stories of his father, which we see in flashbacks, and the stage is set for the battle with Invincible.

The series tells the story of a man-turned-immortal, Bulgasal, who wants revenge from a woman with a mysterious past and present, who he deems responsible for his immortality and miseries from the past 600 years, hoping to free himself from his curse.

Both are historicals where w woman pretends to be a man. There are many historicals where a woman pretends to be a man, but what makes this two shows similar is that the woman started to pretend to be a man after her brother's death (and she takes identity of her brother).

While completely different in tone (MUD is light and funny, TKA is much darker and heavier) both begin with the king killing the midwives to hide a birth secret and the FL being raised as a male crown prince.

859 AD. The once-great Tang Dynasty is now declining. Numerous rebel groups have formed, the largest of which is the House of Flying Daggers, based in Feng Tian county. They steal from the rich and give to the poor, gaining the support of people. The local deputies have managed to kill their former leader, but the rebel group only becomes stronger, due to a mysterious new one. Jin and Liu, two police captains, are ordered to kill the new leader within ten days.

About a twins boy & girl who was born in a kingdom but having twins is a big taboo so they decide to throw away the girl in The King's Affection but in The Emperor Owner of the Mask is about a King who switching place with a poor guy & wear a mask to hide that he had a scar in his face. Both drama is my favorite saeguk/period traditional drama & must watch dramas.

A story about the king who is actually a woman in disguise. It's one of the most well-played gender-bender I've ever seen. Despite her obvious feminine features, she plays the role so well that I forget that she's female. And their love story is immaculate, and he also falls for her while still thinking she is a guy and fully prepares to risk it all for his love for "him".
