Decent and ordinary

First of all, the other 2 reviews in here seem to be a bit delusional giving the series a 10 and calling it the best ever... not surprising that one was posted 2 days ago before ep 14 even aired, so, quite suspicious.

In any case, this is another low-budget show with relatively inexperienced actors and a crazy storyline that could have ended around ep 8 or maybe 10 instead of 14.
The whole plot was to find Wit's killer and help both Wit and Win souls to reach the afterlife... but no, in the end, both end up staying to "see the outside world". At least, that was ok... the chemistry between Boss and Peter (Tha and Kim) was not great but at least we had some nice moments between them. The chemistry between Sun and Net (Wit and Win) was much better but with the dark theme Wit had at the beginning, it got lost. The writers did try to exploit the chemistry towards the end so at least they realized that.

However, I think the series became a bit predictable after some episodes because the writers could not find many plot twists when the small cast is locked in a quarantined building for 14 days so they had to do two fake weddings, pool parties, Tha trying to kill himself twice, etc. But the most ridiculous thing was nobody being able to avoid a speeding SUV that took an eternity to reach the characters and then Wit and Win saving Tha by making the SUV go over Aunty Anne. Now, I know she was guilty of everything, no matter how much she tried to share the blame with Kaew, but it would have been better to bring her to the police rather than dying without much punishment for her crime.

BUT, by killing her, the writers leave the door wide open for season 2 because her soul seems to take over Kaew's body. But for what? To make Tha and Kim suffer? It makes no sense. Kaew also makes no sense in the last episode because she seems to accept Wit and Win being dead and she seems to move on from the past only for her to be crying in Aunty Anne's room with a picture of both of them and suddenly realizing that nobody loves her and being possessed by Anne's soul.

The story was somewhat original having a couple from the past being rejected by Thailand's culture back then and a couple in present-day Thailand being more openly accepted. The acting was decent at parts. But the writers went a bit crazy with the story and it ended up being decent but nothing worth watching again. We'll see what happens if there is season 2.

Hidden Love is Revealed

This is my first review ever written so think of it as my baby and don't get to in your feelings, besties...????

So it's finally over and I'm big sad. I will miss this BL that gave us the epic visuals of Tha,Kim, Wit and Win, the two BL couples.

Ok, let's talk about the GOOD !!!
1st The CAST!!! Listen, this was a really good looking cast and I mean really good looking. Everyone looked good, whole snacks and desserts!!!
Hey Boss, can I call you Boss? You wanna be my Boss bcuz that man had me hooked!!! Even if this show was pure Basura, I would've suffered for 14 episodes just to see that face ??, I ❤️him, your Honor!

The acting was also on point, I mean playing a vengeful ghost with feelings like bruh, just fork me now!!! Give Wit &Win their freakin flowers bcuz they were acting like rent was due that day!!!
The side characters were hilarious and helped keep the show from getting too serious. Plus, you know that you're good at acting when the viewer hates not only your character but your name as well...Looking at you, Kaew! I wanted to smush smush her face so much?

The overall theme for the story was unique and dare I say, we have gotten a new genre within the BL world, a horror/ thriller themed BL.
Sidenote: there have been other BLs that was horror/thriller themed but they're not as well-known.
Let's hope that there are more BLs that explore the different genres that can be created and not just the standard school trope that we are all too familiar with.

Now the B-A-D....
The pacing, omg, the pacing...at times was confusing and slower than molasses like wrap that sh*t up asap!!!
Next, the story was mmm how do I say it, a bit wonky. When it was good, it was good but when it went sideways, yea, it went there. I can only assume that there were too many writers in that writing room bcuz while the overall story did eventually come together, there were missteps and confusion along the way.
The editing gave me a headache, like bruh we have seen that freakin flashback scene,y'all know which one, so many d*mn times that I can re-enact it in my sleep...

Overall, I enjoyed this BL!!! It was different and held my attention plus yes for that Sunday slot bcuz for me, it was the perfect way to end my weekend.

Hope you will give this BL a shot, watch at least 2episodes before making that decision to either watch or drop it. I give it a solid 8 Watch It Rating!!!# HappyDramaWatchingYall ???????

Wish it had paid more attention to the details

At first, this series seems to be just a B-grade horror comedy with some BL thrown in. The ghost carrying a head and scaring people is just one of the things that give this impression.

However, as the story progresses, it becomes more intriguing. As a group of students is quarantined in a dorm and frightened by ghosts there, they gradually find out more about the deaths of two students there ten years ago. The mystery of what causes the deaths of the two students, a same-sex couple, does get interesting as the revelations of the past lead more more mysteries that to be solved.

Unfortunately, while the general trajectory of the story is rather good, the devil is in the details. Sometimes the details are contradictory. At one point, one of the ghosts seems to have regained a physical body and is surprised by it. Yet, this is not really explained and he still seems to have no physical body anyway. At one point, one of the students (ten years ago) is two-timing, dating his boyfriend while also flirting with their female best friend. But when the boyfriend finds out that they are meeting secretly, it is as though he has misunderstood the both of them when they are planning a birthday surprise for him. (Hey, the boyfriend isn't wrong. Later, it seems that the two-timer realizes that the one he truly loves is his boyfriend, but these revelations aren't entirely satisfactory,) The relationships amongst the side characters are also poorly developed. In one episode, Pao Pao has a crush on Met. In another episode, it's Joker having a crush on Met.

Another loophole in the plot is how people can suddenly appear in the dorm under quarantine. The caretaker, Auntie Ann, is suddenly revealed to be there, providing food for the students from the start of the quarantined. (It's like she is there out of good will, and the students could have been left there to starve to death during the quarantine.) Then several episodes later, the female best friend (human) of the gay couple (now ghosts) from ten years ago turns up. I don't think this is how quarantine works.

The flashbacks revealing the past bit by bit with additional revelations giving a twist to what one might assume from earlier revelations is conceptually good but ends up being poorly executed. This is such a pity because, if it had been done properly, this series could well be elevated a few notches.

It is commendable, nevertheless, that the series manages to integrate the BL storyline with the other elements like the mystery and ghost elements. It could simply have been a horror comedy with some BL romance thrown in as a selling point (like Ghost Runner, a lackluster horror series with BL romance thrown in). Admittedly, the series exaggerates the contrasts between the attitude towards gay couples ten years ago and contemporary attitudes. Even in the most open societies today, there is still quite a bit of homophobia, and Thai society is likely no exception. (Of course, the attitudes of young, college-age students may have changed more significantly.) Nevertheless, it conveys a clear message now how toxic homophobia can be.

ONE OF THE BEST!!!!!

This series is so amazing.....

When it first started, I thought it wasn't going to make much sense but as I continued from the second episode, it started getting better and with each scene.

Let's start with acting.
Perfection by all the cast.
I've got nothing to really say about that.
Everyone played his/her role perfectly or close to perfection especially with Win and Wit. Those two, brought their characters to life.

The music was amazing..... I didn't really enjoy the main OST but falk about the background dramatic OST, which is like a mixture of metals and orchestra, DAMN!!!!, they made the movie effects so realistic.

Talk about camera effects and graphics, man everything was so damn good..... And I'm not someone who is easily impressed.

But the BEST of the BEST is the story.....
The plot lines are so amazing. Especially the twists, although there were more than most BL series I've watched contain, the plot twists didn't make the story hard to keep up with. Each plot twist had its own unique way of making the story better and better. Putting in more suspence and actions made it harder for me quit watching the series.
I also love that it has an open ending where audiences are left to speculate what happens to a possessed Kaew and if there's going to be a second season.

I applaud the writer of this series, all the actors and actresses, and the rest of the team who made this. This series deserves more audience and awards.

I hope more like this can be made.
I'm gonna rewatch it numerous times.
Congratulations ?????????????????????????????????????????

Truly a Breath of Fresh Air!

This is probably one of the first BL series that blended well with the genres of fantasy/mystery!

The writer is openly gay and used his personal story with his boyfriend to write the Wit/Win flashback storyline, so it includes many references about how in the past it was way harder to be openly gay as well as our current times LGBT struggles and COVID-19 pandemic.

For the fantasy element he got inspiration from a board game called "Mysterium" Wit is a madness ghost who gives clues to
Tha's gang to solve his murder case. It was very unique to see a Thai BL with an adventure kind of feeling! It was cool to wait every week to see what new mysteries and plot twists were coming.

Everyone's acting was great! the dorm gang is hilarious! Mesa is MY QUEEN. Kim is super relatable and adorable, Tha so handsomely charming. My Favorites are Wit and Win they are just fantastic!!! Net and Sun really surprised me with their performance and chemistry! one of the best BL couples for me this year.

The OST is great! the opening song is just so different from other BLs! very disco kind of vibe I LOVE IT, and for the emotional scenes they used a beautiful acoustic cover of a song previously featured in 1000 stars.

Give this series a chance with an open hear and mind! don't expect to understand all the mystery in the first episodes, you will be confused but it's all part of the fun! take it for what it offers (a cute show with a great message to enjoy and have a good time) don't put crazy expectations on it or you will not like it.

There's maybe a little hope for a season 2 so let's wait for the good news :)

Not a bad show

Hidden Love is probably one of the most original BLs I have seen to date. I would call it a mystery romance type show because of it's complex plot with a few twists and turns. Apart from Bad Romance I haven't seen anything similar in the genre and that's what makes this show exciting and interesting. It also, low key reminds me of Until We Meet Again where we go on this journey with the characters and find out about their past and what happened to them.

The acting in this show is pretty good. I have no major complaints. The two mains Kim and Tha did lack intimacy at times that to be honest, I couldn't really believe that they liked each other or that they were together (2gether 2.0). Wit and Win the ghosts were much more interesting and believable as a couple in this show and made the show. The show has a good amount of humour which worked most of the time. Other times it was corny but it was definitely a style the director was going for.

Parts of the show did drag out a lot and there were quite a few replay scenes that weren't necessary. I honestly think it could have been done in 10 episodes instead of 14 and it would have made a greater impact. There also quite a few plot holes one of them major one which made me wonder if I missed some scenes where the characters lost their memory. Some scenes/episodes felt quite disjointed from each other where what was established changed in a weird way.

Also, people did complain about the special effects but to me it was good and served it's purpose, especially for the budget of this show.

I don't want to spoil anymore but I would recommend this show if you're looking for something that's less feel good but not your average BL. I wasn't blown away by the BL portion but nonetheless it's satisfying show.

It started off good...and then I don't know what happened

When I first started this series, I was happy. Cause while I watched two other supernatural BL's (Ghost Runner and So Much In Love), it started off WAY better than them. But something happened along the way that in the end left me confused and not that eager for a sequel (if they do decide to have one).

Story-6.5/10
I stated before that it started good. And they had some excellent plots in the series. However, they werw timws that I became confused or bored in watching this series. And by watching the series, you can tell who was the bad person( well, at least I could). It left no question about it. Like...you just knew! And then the ending of the series didn't really help it for me. Matter of fact, I was going to give this a 7, but changed it to a 6.5 just because of that ending.

Acting/Cast-6.5/10
I'm going to give a 6.5, cause I felt that no one really shined for me except for Wit and Win. And that was sometimes. Nothing in any of the other actors acting stood out to me.

Music-7/10
The music was okay.

Rewatch Valu-3/10
I'm going on the lower spectrum and give this a three. Cause I was confused andbored in the middle of this series and watching it again is not going to change that for me.

Overall-6/10
Overall I give this series a 6. I felt that they missed an opportunity in twlling a really good story and that's unfortunate. I mean it's the highest that I have given a BL with the tag ghosts, so...yeah. I would not, however recommend this series to others to watch.

A fun, bad show

This show was a mess on so many levels, I would be talking forever just listing them. Inexperienced actors, low-budget, no chemistry between the "lead" couple and horrendous story writing would summarise it all pretty well.
Although it was a weird ride and I was loosing brain cells during the process, I can't say that I wasn't entertained. The bad quality often made me laugh and although I know that it probably wasn't intended, it added more comedic value than the intended funny scenes.
It was a bad show, but a fun bad show.

My opinion is...

I just saw it. I mean, I thought it would be better. When you summed it up, it was all about finding Win's body. I expected them to develop a couple of Kim and Tha there somehow. But I was wrong. Probably the most bothering thing about it was the frequent repetition of scenes from the past. They could have put in other scenes, not kept repeating them. Most of this drama is basically about Win and Wit. I was also struck by why when they sing at the end, why is there only one voice when they both sing. But that's just an addendum.

I almost gave up on this one...

But it turned out to be OK in the end. The first probably 3-4 episodes were a bit weird, confusing, and at the same time sort of boring and bland.

After the first few episodes, the real story of Win and Wit came out. That was a really touching story, and they should have made a story just from that. I think this would have been a good BL story all on its own.

The Covid lockdown plot was different but it will surely not age well. This whole story borrows a lot from a variety of vampire, ghost, and horror movies, and there is even a touch of The Green Mile thrown in for good measure. It wasn't really a scary movie, and they might have done better to try and be less "Ooohhh scary!" thing and gone more for a friendly haunting or spirt thing rather than the evil monster thing. Maybe a bit more like "He's Coming to Me" as long as they were borrowing plotlines. But I get why this was done to some extent.

There were a few twists and turns, but it was all fairly predictable low budget stuff. Hopefully Karma gets Kaeo at some point, she was not as innocent as appears, I can't believe Wit and Win are so accepting of her. Like it was "accessory to murder, oh well we love you anyway". And it seems like they left it a bit open-ended, like they are planning for a second season which is unnecessary. They could have shortened some things a bit, spent a LOT less time on ending credits, and flashbacks, and added a bit more content in other areas to bring closure to this story. I still don't fully get why Auntie Ann hated Wit so much to do what she did, and yet was so nice to Wit and Win's face.

Most of the actors played their parts fine, but I wondered about casting a bit. I almost think Wit and Win should have had the other's role. Tha was supposed to be Wit's brother but looked a LOT more like Win. I though that the Met girl was a bit annoying, not sure if it was just the character, or what.

So it was an OK filler, and I am glad I watched to the end instead of dropping this. But it could have been so much better.

It's stupidly hilarious.

This show is great, because it doesn't take itself seriously. It's an over the top comedy with exaggerated acting and cheesy romance with some mystery elements thrown in. It's not a masterpiece, but if you go in without any expectation, you'll get some great mindless entertainment.
It's a satire of a horror - there's no jumpscares, tension or gore. It's just a lot of screaming and some costumes and visual effects.
Personally I'd prefer if it was much shorter. There were instances of repeated scenes from the past that were just unnecessary. Seeing the same scene for the fourth time I was like "yes, we get it, this happened before".
Win and Wit's relationship was done pretty well. I sympathised a lot with their story and them as characters.
I can't say the same about Kim and Tha. I don't really get how their relationship happened given what we've seen on the screen. I didn't feel any of their actions said "we're falling in love". It felt like they were supposed to like each other because of the set up, so they did. A bit awkward to be honest.
Also it's funny how the show starts with there being a covid case in the building, but it isn't discussed at all throughout the whole show. How's the patient doing? Who's taking care of them? It seems like the charaters we see on screen are the only ones in the building, but none of them is sick, lol.
