MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW THAT NANA IS SO BEAUTIFUL?

to say, The actresses in Kim Mi mo(Go Hyun Jung & Nana) did a good job! (Yeom Hye Ran) Kim Kyung Ja Real Prepsycho! That kept the drama alive And the rest were average. But the story was not set.
Wasn't it?
The story of Mi-mo's life!
For that I saw 2G spread again. Too bad, because nothing else can be added. She wanted to be famous, but she was! Not in a good way! Didn't she need to live for that? These days there is concern about the end of the drama! But here it has turned completely 180 degrees. After seeing the end of the drama, it seems that the Chinese historical drama such as Wuxia,Xuanhuan type drama! 😪😝😷

I miss Go Hyun Jung. The drama is not a classic thriller. Everyone says it should have three seasons, but the point of the drama is to be short and have a perfect end, at least for me.

makjang makjang makjang

whew! just finished this and it was a wild wild ride. I'll just review this drama simply.

what i like:
1. the story, the overall story. it was very very good. i was rarely bored.
2. the casts were all brilliant. i love go hyun jung acting a lot, but i enjoyed nana's portrayal as kim mi mo the most (if i get the name wrong, it's bcos I'm still confused with the daughter's name). nana's version of kim mi mo was when she was living her most fearless, brave, nothing to lose life. and nana also executed the acting, perfectly!
3. a lot of interesting side characters. morally grey at its finest, oh but we luvvvv.

what i dislike
1. I'm weird for this, but despite only having 7 eps, but i wish some eps were a bit quicker? sometimes i watch the watch bar (or how what do u call this), and feel like "ohh still long way to go". idk i think this is only me.
2. some illogical stuff but yeah as a makjang it's totally acceptable.
3. the fact that even till the very end, she (iykyk) never knew that her son is the dad of the child. arghhhh

yeah, i think that's it. totally watchable for only 7 eps and very interesting storyline and great acting even from the teen actors. also, rarely boring. recommended!

ps: pls ignore my score abt the music. i don't really care abt the music, I don't even remember it. i just had to put a score.

yeap, that's it.

Everybody is worth of human decency

"If calling someone ugly was enough to kill someone then everyone in this country would be dead"

What a line.

Well this did not go the way I thought. At least up until ep 2. Ngl I considered dropping when I got to that point cause I wasn't seeing where they were gonna take this but in ep 3 things got more interesting. MoMi's journey definitely had some surprises. Her story didn't develop the way I thought I would but in the superficial sense, she is a reflection of what many people deal with irl. With South Korea being the plastic surgery capital of the world and how common beautifying procedures are there, I've noticed a lack of empathy and cruelty towards those who are different and fit an ultra specific mold of beauty. All the main women here have tragic ends but I found it fitting to end the series with the first we saw of MoMi: a happy young girl that wanted people to love her back. The character-threaded episodes and how everyone's backstory leads them to Mo Mi was done well. Though the lookism commentary could've been a little stronger, I like the points that were brought up. Simply put, attractive people will always have an advantage but a person's value doesn't lie solely in their appearance. One thing I noticed while watching Nam Joo's mother's long and tiring revenge was that she used Christianity as some sort of twisted justification for her plan. She also never once reflected on her son's life or the events that led up to his death, which would've provided some context that perhaps could've led her down a different path.

SPOILER ALERT:

Why didn't Bomi just tell Nam Joo's mom that the reason why she killed her son was bc he tried to rape her? There was a bit of rage but it was mostly self defense. His mom would've still been angry but all she knew was that some girl killed her son and she ran with that.

An intensive story about revenge

Before I started watching this I had pretty low expectations because nowadays the Netflix Kdrama thrillers have been kinda disappointing to be honest but then I fell in love! The episodes get more and more interesting and intense by episode that you just get hooked.

I haven't watched a drama this good in a long time so I finished watching this in a day. Everything was just so good but a slight minus is that I would have wanted some original soundtracks to the drama so I could go listen to them after watching it but it didn't affect my watching experience tho.

All I can say here is that just go watch it!

A great drama with great moral

It was a great drama, short, with a great storyline. It showed how a beautiful, confident person could be made ugly by the whole world. She was always beautiful, but gave up her dream because of the society standards. The whole world criticised her, she was hurt and broken but she became bad in the eyes of the world and that hate traveled to her daughter who was absolutely an innocent soul. This shows how society modifies a great person into a bad one.
Storyline and moral were great.
Loved and cried alot during the end.
Acting and cast was top notch. Absolutely loved the female lead Lee Han Byeol as an rookie actress and the child actress too, each and every role was great.
Kudos to the staff and team working behind too.
Loved the drama quality too👏🏻

Trigger Warning

Trigger Warning for those who have been in toxic relationships and experienced bullying, violence, etc.
That's sick! A series where every episode is emotionally draining and all the characters are sick. A point of view that views people who are not beautiful/good-looking as despicable and worthy of being treated like trash. While those who hate them are much more like trash.

Lee Jun Young as Choi Bu Yeong who became a really bad person in personality and attitude towards her (ex) lover, totally made me disgusted and eager to beat the shit out of him. I was satisfied when I saw her in the end, getting her life snuffed out by her ex and her ex's friend.

What is wrong with MDL ratings?? This is better than CELEBRITY in terms of showing reality.

Mask girl is one of those drama which i avoid to watch because of MDL rating. Since every other basic romcom drama get 8.5 rating , that's why dramas below 8 look average to me but I was so wrong . SO WRONG!

Story - This drama story is one rollercoaster ride of emotions. Despite being fast paced i get well connected to every character. One of the plus point is that they show story from each charcater POV which make it remarkable. Yes, some characters are borderline psychopath but the way of storytelling make people feel bad for them too at one point.

Momi as a main character is something we don't get often to see in kdramas. She is not your kdrama type grey character but indeed a actual representation of grey character. First episode was su disturbing due to her delusions that i keep screaming GIRL WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? She made some horrible choices and faced consequences too. Nothing was whitewashed in this drama at all. However , as the drama grows , Momi's character also grows which is done phenomenally.

Rest of characters are great as well and have some remarkable traits unlike normal kdrama where side-characters have nothing to offer. .

The ending might look terrible to some but it's very good for me . All the things can be little dramatic but it is on point. Momi sacrificed her life to protect her daughter and it was no waste. Mimo grow up as an understanding and kind person, who doesn't let society standard defines herself and have power to forgive people and move on.

Acting - I don't know what i can say , from the little child to each character, acting is top notch

Music - Good but nothing new or outstanding.

Rewatch value : I would love to rewatch it anytime. Very short and entertaining.

Last not least, I am so disappointed in MDL. Every other romcom drama get 8 or 9 ratings. Why thriller, dark , adult drama without romance always suffer worst?

Twisted love tainted with blood

When society punishes people for being not beautiful in their eyes, some become monsters.

Every episode features a vignette of specific characters' moments in life. From the 80s to current times, we follow how characters without being self-aware punish themselves and their loved ones.

Young-lady hiding her face for love.
Young-man searching for love through streamers.
Old-lady that creates lies about her son to be adored by society.
Young-lady who finds friendship in dark places.
Young-girl disregarded by society due to her blood.

One of the most beautiful korean shows of 2023. Cinematography was creative and aestheticly done throughout the series. The main highlights were episode 1 and 7.

For those that like heavy-scripts, comedic horror and ill-fated tragedies.

Do not watch trailer. It spoils everything. Watch it blind.

Good Enough

Korean Drama " Mask Girl " is a mini series with a suspenseful story.

The drama is bold, with mature themes, dark scenes, black humour, and a lot of murders. It spans over many years, telling the story of Momi, a girl with a mask literary and metaphorically. And even though the time jumps didn't do the drama any favours, often messing and confusing the plot, while spoiling the momentum, the story itself is enough griping to keep things interesting. The ending was also shocking and perfect for the story.

The performances, in addition, were outstanding, especially by the leading ladies who did great portraying Momi throughout the years.

So, overall, seven out of ten.

Mask girl ?

I went into this drama completely blind, I thought it was just about a girl who has a dream to become an idol but I was so wrong it's much more than that, So before watching this drama I'm going to write the trigger warnings so you guys know what you're getting yourselves into. TW: Rape, Sexual Assult, Cyber Bullying, Bullying, Self Harm, Assult

This series is rated 18 for a reason so please keep this in mind when watching this drama as it is not an easy watch. Other than that this drama is amazing and got me hooked from the first episode. The story of Momi is both beautiful and traumatic, Mask Girl tells the story of a girl called Momi who wants to become an idol but as she gets older she gets "uglier" and even though she has so much talent she possibly could never become an idol, So what she decides to do is start going live on a website where she can dance and show her talent but she needs to wear a mask so that people don't judge her on her looks and just see her for her talent, while doing this she gets a fan whos a sasaeng, she works as an office worker and has a huge crush on her boss but she finds out he's in a relationship with someone else in the office and decides to out there relationship out of jealously this results in the boss and the girl losing their jobs. I'm not going to spoil any more of the drama so if you want to watch it please beware of the TW and take care of yourselves other than that enjoy this amazing thriller.
