Don't hate it until you try it

Deducting .5 points at rewatch value because of the ads (esp episode 7, 5 ads is just ridiculous when rewatching I will probably skip/skim that episode) but if you survive over it, they apologize by releasing episodes 8-present) but otherwise I love it I'm obsessed with it. I don't care about all the smear campaigns in these sections because I put it off for weeks because of these types of poorly-worded reviews but when I decided not to let other people decide what I like and what I don't like and I decided for myself I was already seven episodes late. Glad I was just in time for the best episodes (8 onwards!)

This series is admittedly polarizing. It's either you like it or you don't and if you don't that will be respected. But this series focuses on two kind people who fail and succeed while they try to navigate a situation they can't find a way out of and a problem they actually have to wait out and had no concrete way to solve, people who genuinely love and respect and try their best to understand and learn from each other. With the hate it was getting you'd think the relationship was toxic and abusive and weird but it was the furthest thing from that. I understand if it's not your cup of tea, we all have our preferences, but smear campaigns over things that could be simply be overlooked? That's just immature.

To those who do manage to read this, watch this on your own and decide on your own. Whether you like it or not is up to you. If you don't, feel free to drop it and move on with another series without leaving comments that are damaging not just to the actors but all the staff who worked really hard on this. To those who do, I'm glad! Relationships this healthy paired with love this intense is hard to come by in shows nowadays, let's enjoy this.

Also, the crew did such a good job with the locations they made me itch to visit Thailand to see them. The park, the airplane restaurant, the gallery that's actually a café, the maze, the GLASS HOUSE??? All so pretty Thailand tourism department who Vice Versa makes me want to book a ticket those places are insanely pretty!

Really good job overall!

Subtle Cotton Candy Sweetness... but not so much Vice or Versa...

The vise versa universe is not very vice and not very versa as the differences between the universes are few enough to be noticeable but not enough to be worthy of the name or actually ,mean anything... more than the right to marry. a part of me thinks this is a good thing another part of me thinks they could have done so much more with this subject without overdoing it. They could show how absurd gender conventions are, or I do not know... I just feel that this part could have been done better... It is kind of sad to think that our society is so hard on celebrities that they seem to need to go to another universe so they can set a foundation for love... Shows some pretty decent criticism towards Idol culture without making that criticism too obvious either... So I guess if you like to read in between lines and appreciate the subtle approach to well known subjects this is not bad... I am struggling to decide if it is subtle in a good way or just under developed.

This drama probably has one of Thai BL Dramalands best cameo appearances, done right featuring a lot of well known faces in fun roles. Making it worth a watch just for the cameo. That said the leads are pretty good on their own too. Showing decent chemistry and eat the fish instead of dead fish kisses... or is it steam the fish kisses.. Whatever they are tehy are indeed lovely.

There are a few draggy parts in the middle, and one of the supporting characters is highly annoying making me wonder is it the actor, the script or the combo that makes me annoyed whenever I see him. I truly feel bad for the guy who seems caught in these highly annoying character roles. There were a few sides torys that seemed to have a lot of potential, that I would have wanted to see more of too... So I guess there is quite a bit of waisted potential in this.

Other than that this was a fun and enjoyable watch that I do indeed recommend to Thai BL lovers out there... Not very demanding ... except for the first episode, that one is very confusing and not so well made.. but the rest is pretty decent and highly bingable.

This series has been unfairly commented on

I'm going to write a very subjective review because I think this series received too much unfair criticism since the very start of it and I want to defend it. Of course, this series is far from perfect but it was still really good and I'm really going to miss it as it was the only one series at the moment that I was looking for each week.

So I'm going to start by talking about all the things that I love about this series (and there are a lot!).
- First, the casting, especially Sea and Jimmy. Contrary to what I've read, the two are fantastic actors who had the chance to prove what they are capable of as main leads and they did wonderfully. Their acting is very natural as they manage to show their emotions only through their eyes. I also need to point out their crying scenes which are so well done. Of course, the rest of the cast adds so much to this series, especially Neo and Aou whom we see a lot. Pepper and Boom are nice side kicks but they appear less than the two above, which is a shame because it feels like Talay is not so close with them compared to Up and Aou. I also have to mention Ohm and Nanon who act more like special cameos than real actors of the series (and it is even specified in the opening credits - in Thai, of course). So I'm sick of people complaining about how they would prefer watching Tess and Tun's point of view instead of Talay and Puen's and I only have one thing to say to those people: go rewatch Bad Buddy. Vice Versa is not their series and it was clear from the very first trailer that aired about a year ago. I love Ohm and Nanon in this series (and others) but I'm glad it was not all about them.
- Talking about the cast, unlike a lot of people, I absolutely loved all the cameos. Everytime a familiar face appeared on screen, I was screaming like crazy. I think the cameos blend really well in the story and they add some very funny scenes. It is also full of references about other series that I like such as 2gether or Theory of Love (which is normal as Vice Versa was written by the same author).
- And talking about references, I really love the differences between the two universes (even though there aren't a lot). Especially the way they have to count things. I burst out laughing when I saw Talay trying to count in the new universe way and stopping at three because he didn't want to be rude! Or everytime Up or Aou are showing their ring finger to count four. I thought this was hilarious!
- It was also a criticism that I've often read on this page: Sea and Jimmy's chemistry. I'm so sorry for you to be blind but their chemistry is totally off the chart. My heart melted every time they were looking into each other's eyes and we can totally feel that they are comfortable with each other, like two people in love. I especially love Jimmy's confidence at kissing Sea (and I'm talking about real kisses not those aweful sniff kisses that we too often see in other series). I was so happy they were doing real kisses that I felt disappointed when Jimmy did the only sniff kiss of the series in the last episode. Thank God, Sea responded by a real kiss right after! Anyway, we can really see a couple in love acting on screen which is often a problem in other BL (or non-BL) series. We need more actors like them comfortable with intimate scenes. For the moment, I only know one other actor that is as confident as Jimmy kissing his partner (and others) and it is Nanon (which is kind of funny when we know they were body swapping in this series).
- Another criticism that I've often read was about the story in itself. People were criticising the fact that Talay and Puen were not actively trying to find their portkey and that they were too much focused on the scriptwriting of their films. And even though I agree on the fact that the plot did have some problems, those mentioned above are definitely not one of them. Why? Well, first, Talay definitely tries to actively find his portkey at the very beginning of the series and Puen accompanies him when he arrives in this new universe. But then, what? What would you do in their place? Sleep with all the newcomers until you find one with whom you are dreaming? That is not that easy and the story showed it several times. Talay needed to learn about love (which is not something you do in just a few days, this is not a Disney...) and Puen to rest a bit from this actor's life with a family and friends. I can understand that some people don't like the slow burn type of stories but in that case, move on and stop torturing yourself. Also, I think the series perfectly managed to represent the two types of people that form our society: those who will try to adapt in this new body and life to avoid as much as possible the bad effects of this body swap on the life of the one you take over like Talay and Puen (let's face it, we all would love to have someone like Talay and Puen take over our lives if this kind of thing was possible), and those who will not give a f**k and continue living as they did before like Tess and the one that was in that uncle's body, completely ruining their life (which is apparently how the majority of the people on this site will react if they are confronting with the same situation...). Don't get me wrong, I understand why Tess quit Talay's job but, first, he could've done it in a more amiable way and, second, there's no excuse for him to have cut ties with Talay's friends.
- The cinematography and the colouring of each episode are so wonderful to watch. Each shot is a pleasure for the eyes.
- Last but not least, the music. I absolutely love it since I've watched the first episode, and even more when I've listened to the OST sung by Sea. I listen to this song at least once a day. Now, I just need to find the opening song but I can't find it anywhere, which is a real shame because this music is a gem.

Now, the things that I didn't quite like in this series...
- The very first thing (and a lot of people agree on that one): the product placements. I know that they have to be sponsored and thus, promote the products of those sponsors but it was too much. First, this is the only series (I remember) that had FOUR ads at the beginning of each part of each episode! Usually, there are only two so I don't know why they accepted so much for this series (money, of course, but it was a poor decision...). Second, the product placements were too out of place. They didn't fit in the story very well and sometimes, there were too many product placements in a short period of time. Of course, this is not the only series in which the product placements were poorly integrated into the story (it is the case in every and each GMMTV series) but they could've made some effort. Especially when some of the products were better integrated like the scooter or even the choco pie ones (yes, I know that most of this product placement scenes were as weird as the tea or the toothpaste ones but at least, it gave us one of the best scene in a BL series: the nom-nom scene).
- As I said above, the story also has some problems. For instance, I felt like Talay's problems when he came back into his own universe were resolved way too fast. So his work problem can probably be justified by the special feature of the director of the company (I don't know his status) he was hired in at first and the problem he had with his friends can probably be justified by... how awesome his friends are, but I felt like it was too easy and it only took a few minutes from the episode to be resolved. Also, many locations in this series were new to me (and I've watched a LOT of Thai series) and I really felt like it was another universe because never used in another series before. But as soon as Talay and Puen are back in their universe, the locations previously introduced in the other universe appear in their universe as well (the greenhouse, the mall, the café and the restaurant in construction on the roof). So it felt not so special anymore. I will also add the fact that, in episode 12, we can see Talay drinking from a beer can that is covered by this weird black thing we could see covering beer cans in the other universe all along. I thought it was a special thing from this other universe but apparently not, and it felt a bit out of place to see it in the real universe. I'll also add that when they took pictures, there's one time when we could see Talay's and Puen's face on the photo, which is not normal because we should've seen Tess's and Tun's. I'll finish by saying that the passing of time in the series is a bit too rushed. We don't feel like almost two years have passed even though it is clear that time passes by as they are writing two films. But it doesn't feel like it as we watch Talay and Puen live their lifes as Tess and Tun.

I think I wrote enough about this series and I'm really happy to have done so as I was really bothered by the too many bad comments written on this site. At least, my mind is free now!

Of course, I recommend 100% watching this series, you won't regret it (unless you are one of those who want to watch only for Ohm and Nanon or think Talay and Puen don't make any effort to go back to their universe - as if it was the most simple thing to do...).

Funny, charming, enthralling, heartfelt and all in all my favorite BL of the year.

After Not Me ended I didn't think I'd love another BL as much, boy was I wrong. Vice Versa surprised me:

Strong, compelling and extremely likable characters, a beautiful love story: Puen and Talay always fought for their love even when they werent fighting for it they still were, and a healthy couple is what undoubtedly drew me to it.

When I first watched the trailer I never thought I'd end up loving it as much as I did. But when the first episode aired I was hooked: hook, line and sinker. The first thing that struck me was Sea's charming performance: he pulled me right in. For being a newbie and an unknown to me, the kid is freaking talented. I had heard people say how good he had been in 55:15 Never Too Late but somehow I wanted to see for myself & well he won me over. Talay was lovable from day one and that was all down to Sea. In every episode he delivered and made me feel so much thru his emotions. As did Jimmy, but more on that later. I really hope Sea gets more lead roles because he proved himself and he deserves them.

The second thing that struck me was Sea's chemistry with Jimmy. I was one of those people who was skeptical of their chemistry because I didn't see much before hand. Then their first scene aired and I was gone. They had intense chemistry in that restroom scene and I immediately thought: "Wow! these two have it!" And they never let me down when it came to their chemistry. It was sexual tension. romantic really, it was more than that. Jimmy and Sea connected on another level, rarely is a newbie pairing at the level comfort they were. I never sensed any awkwardness in their scenes together or discomfort either. No, they were very comfortable together, their scenes flowed so naturally together that I loved it. The thing I loved most about them tho was how much emotion they portrayed together. Every time Talay and Puen were together: I felt the love between the characters. Their kisses never seemed sleazy or forced to me because I could feel the love between them. Thank you to whoever paired them together because they got it right. Easily my favorite pairing of the year next to OffGun. Highkey hoping to see them together again.

Now onto Jimmy. it's not a secret that I was never a fan of Jimmy's acting before... Vice Versa changed all that. When I heard that Jimmy was gonna be the lead I wasn't gonna watch this but something told me to and I'm glad I did. Jimmy really grew as an actor here and proved that he's talented. The minute he walked in as Puen he made me take notice. I loved his charm as Puen but also the vulnerability he portrayed. He showed that he could emote. Does he still need growth? maybe but man was he awesome as Puen. I loved his character from the get go. I loved how hard he worked to show all of his character's emotion and strength of said character. He never let out and won me over too. I already mentioned his chem with Sea so I'll end it here. But I really hope he gets more lead roles too.

The supporting cast 10/10 too. Love the chemistry everyone had together.

The writing.... ok, yes this series as good as it was did have its flaws like most other series. In this case, I think the good outweighed any bad the series had. The writers knew exactly what they were doing. Every episode had character moments where we saw the characters actually grow and learn from their mistakes. Puen and Talay always admitted when they were wrong but most importantly: they communicated and that to me was a breath of fresh air because you barely see that in the BL world. In a BL world filled with constant miscommunication and endless drama- Vice Versa was different. Mostly because the characters talked and fixed their problems. To some that may seem boring but I loved it. Even the smallest angst made sense to the story and the characters and never felt dragged or unnecessary, at least to me. One of the things I loved was how the writers weaved in the lighthearted with the angst. Every episode took me on a ride. Also the lessons this series had for both the characters and the audience? *chef's kiss. At the core Vice Versa was a story about two people finding themselves and learning how to love themselves and another: romantic love. And becoming stronger people because of that love. The journey Talay and Puen went on felt realistic to me because I've been there. And that's why this is one of my top favorite series ever.

And the last favorite thing of mine was the OST I can't count how many times I listened to Have I Found and By My Side. Two of my favorite songs now. Ps. the friendships on this series were fantastic too! I'm so glad I got to experience this wonderful series. I'm gonna miss it so much, my Saturday's won't be the same now that Vice Versa is over.

Overall I give this series a 10(as obvious by my whole review LOL) in everything. I'll sure be re-watching this one over and over.

Vice Versa was right up my alley

I regret putting Vice Versa off for as long as I did, simply because it's a slight fantasy and I was skeptical of Jimmy carrying a lead role. I'm normally critical of everything I watch but "Vice Versa" was a breath of fresh air. It's tied with 'Bad Buddy' as my top Thai BL. It isn't perfect by any means but I can't list one thing I did not like about it. I binged it in two days, both after long days at work. The series truly energized me.

The cast is perfect. The leads are gorgeous. The acting was convincing. The special appearances and cameos were fun and great too. I loved all of the cliche, cheesy lines, the humor was up my alley, and the friendships - seriously, chef's kiss. What I liked most about this series is that the director/producer/writer treated the audience as a smart crowd. The amount of callbacks was flawless and it gave the characters more life/realism. 97% of the flashbacks were unseen scenes utilized to explain and clarify mishaps; I loved and appreciated that as I'm tired of shows using the same flashback 3-5 times throughout a show. Once or twice is enough and "Vice Versa" did just that. I love the healthy relationship between the leads; yes cheesy lines were exchanged and at one point they grabbed collars, but the way they always resolve their problems within 15 minutes of screentime, give or take, always apologizing, and thanking/appreciating each other for the little and big things were all very heartwarming. I usually find fights after disagreements silly but in "Vice Versa" I always understood both standpoints. The show did a terrific job showing that what the leads have were a difference of opinions; neither one is right or wrong and neither one is the good or bad guy.

I've seen year-old complaints about product placements, but at this point, if you've seen enough Thai BLs you know that's standard practice. Said scenes will be cringing, regardless of actors/actresses or situations. I, for one, had no problem with them as I enjoyed the two leads interacting no matter what. And at one point they got my mouth-watering for Lays and I wouldn't eat them if I could help it.

Vice Versa is definitely one I'll visit at least once a year. Cheers!

Edit: It's been exactly one month and 11 days since I left this review and I've rewatched Vice Versa another six times. I seriously can't get enough of it and now it's my happy place!

Fluff ft. product promotion and vice versa !

Two people getting transported to a new universe and having to life someone else's life - quite interesting if you ask me but there is one condition - you gotta remember that part of the story

What I am trying to say is - the story doesn't really revolve around the universe thing. So if that's the thing that interests you then you will be disappointed. They really won't make you feel like they are living as 'Tun' and 'Tess' and not as 'Puen' and 'Talay'. They really don't struggle to keep up with the things happening in that universe as much as they should . So yes If you are into fluffy romantic stories with little to no plot development then go for it ! It's a fluffy romantic story revolving around Puen and Talay who fall in love with each other and love promoting products. The actors portray the characters well and their chemistry is off the charts so you will most likely enjoy their moments, I sure did.

They are living as Tess and Tun, lets talk about them. Some points were made about them when the series began and much to the viewers' disappointment, they were left unexplored. Tun having a crush on Tess, Tun ignoring Tess , Talay losing his job because of Tess , all of these points were left unexplored. They were cameos and not secondary characters so there wasn't much to expect anyway, yeah right, but why would you even include those points in the first place? anyways, it doesn't really matter because even in puen and talay's case, they barely did anything.

Overall, the series did have a potential but the execution really left a bad impression. The actors make the series seem better than it is and that's a fact.

It's like someone had a great idea but failed to execute it

When it started I was so excited, I mean who didn't wanna watch OhmNanon and JimmySea in the multiverse?? The first 2 episodes got me so hyped, so many things happening: Milk and Love appeared and also Neo was fun as always. But then it just got boring. Nothing happened and Talay and Puen were so damn slow to confess anything. Everything started to stop making sense and the episodes just became badly written. Ohm and Nanon could have appeared a lot more but they didn't and got me frustrated. 2 years have passed and they are not dating yet, the truth is they are really dumb not to know they are each other's portkey and that they love each other. The only thing that got me going was the fact that many gmmtv actors were going to be there. Yet I hated Perth having so many lines and being relevant since he is homophobic, while Gun, Mix and Tay had so little screentime.

A meandering mess

If plots are skeletons of stories then Vice Versa is full of broken bones. It’s a meandering mess that doesn’t have a red thread to guide it. The idea of traveling to a parallel universe is an original one, considering how most BLs barely expand the university setting but unfortunately its execution falls flat because it’s used as merely a concept for the setting rather than a mechanism for plot progression.
The rules of how and who excatly travels between universes was never made clear as weren’t the rules of how to return to your own universe. To get back you have to find a person who‘ll be your portkey and then start dreaming. How is this person determined? How to find them? No idea! Apparently that person will be somehow connected to you or the body you inhabit in the parallel universe but it’s never truly explained how the supposed connection works.
As for the reason to these exotic travels? Well, apparently people travel to learn something and our main characters traveled to learn about love and that’s the most nonsensical idea the writer could’ve come up with! Why did they have to travel to another universe for that? They literally could’ve done the exact same things and learned the exact same things in their own universe. In fact it would have been much better if they never traveled anywhere and Talay got to know Puen by working with him on the same set. Nothing would’ve changed, the same interactions would‘ve happened.

Now let’s talk about the meager semblance of a plot point that there was: the filmmaking shtick which btw was painfully oversimplified in its portrayal.
Talay wanted Pakorns attention, so he used his position as Tess to approve of Pakorns script. That far it kinda makes sense, I can suspend my disbelieve for that. It crossed the line to unbelievability though pretty fast because our young friend group apparently managed to make a feature-length film in a span of only a couple of months (lol). Their movie bombed - no surprise there, they’re amateur filmmakers with no experience whatsoever. Also, it’s impossible to release a full feature-length film in a span of a couple of months. Maybe that’s why it bombed? They half-assed the job because that’s the only way a full fledged movie could ever be released in such a short amount of time. It’s honestly hard to say because none of the reasons why it failed were explained or even mattered in the great scheme of things. Then they decided to give up bc apparently that’s what determined people do but then they changed their mind again bc they seemingly change their mind at the drop of a hat, for very shallow reasons.
Talay and Puens romantic development was done very superficially too. How or why did they fall in love? Who knows. Their feelings don’t ever go beyond the kitschy „I love you“s bc the story wanted to zoom in on superficial fluff rather than explore the depth of their feelings.

Considering all this silliness and naïveté, Vice Versa felt more like a childrens series, apart from the insertion of gratuitous kisses of course, and tbh I could forgive it if it was targeted at preteens but then again I don’t think it was.
The twist at the end of ep 10 was probably the most interesting thing that had happened but was never truly explored in depth or even explained at all. Weirdly enough it had no real impact on the story either - again, no surprise there since that would actually introduce an interesting plot point to Vice Versa and that clearly wasn’t what the screenwriters ever meant for this series to have.

Another thing that’s hard to ignore was the unending string of sponsorships that Vice Versa needed to include. Considering that 11 out of 12 episodes were filler I can’t say the product placement took away important screentime but it did make the series look like an extended string of ads instead of an actual continuous series. Added to that, the actor’s way of promoting the products felt like a Bad Buddy 2.0
While the ads in Bad Buddy were funny and creative, Vice Versa pretty much copied them, which made it feel forced and annoying. Pat and Pran cleaned each other’s faces? Talay and Puen needed to clean each other as well. Pran shoved his black inhaler halfway up his nose? Talay or Puen needed to do it as well.
I understand that Vice Versa wanted to ride on Bad Buddy’s coattails which is obvious by Jimmy being the ML and by the insane amount of sponsored products it had gotten but there is a reason why copies almost never get as good as the original. It seems Vice Versa bombed in Thailand and I’m not surprised.

The plethora of random GMM actor‘s cameos and different BL lines that were taken from their more popular BL works (and were used as passwords?!) were distracting at best and felt like GMMs biggest ego stroke. Why? Were they too lazy to think of their own original memorable lines for Vice Versa?
Anyway, the acting was mostly ok, Sea is a great newbie actor but I think Jimmy isn’t quite ready for a main role yet. On the first glance he seemed to be doing ok but as his scenes went on, it became obvious that he’s struggling, especially in longer scenes. Also, he has a pair of the deadest, most unexpressive eyes I’ve seen on an actor, which didn’t help.

Now onto the positives: I liked the idea of parallel universe traveling even though it sadly amounted to nothing. I also really liked the soundtrack. Sea is a good actor and I do hope to see him again in a different and better series this time. Visually Vice Versa was aesthetically pleasing to look at, as the colors were nice and vibrant and the settings and moods were well conveyed. I liked Ohm and Nanons cameos bc they reminded me of Bad Buddy and my boy Neo made every scene he was in actually enjoyable.

In conclusion:

Vice Versa consists of 11 filler episodes full of forced romantic interactions and kitschy lines, interspersed with product ads. My favourite moment was when Talay ordered his sponsored chicken but actually ran away to find Puen before said chicken arrived. A true twist! bc I didn’t expect him to abandon a sponsored product like that.

I’m usually not a big fan of Jittirains stories but this one has to be her worst one yet..

Fantasy BL with real-life emotions and an AESTHETIC MASTERPIECE

Okay, so… This show stole my heart. Quite literally.

Before I further explain why, I have to be honest and say that I didn't have any high expectations for this whatsoever. Quite randomly, I decided to watch the first two episodes because I was bored. At that time I wasn’t aware of the cast and knew almost nothing aside from the fact that Jimmy should be playing the main role, so my first intention to give this a shot wasn’t even OhmNanon pairing as for many others. My only premise was that it’s supposed to be fantasy and some universe traveling, which I found interesting because fantasy and BL? Yes, I’m here for it.

And now to my review.

1. Story + Characters

Truthfully speaking, this series is more subtle about the fantasy than I expected it to be and I consider myself to be a sucker for fantasy, so it would make sense if I felt more regretful about it. I admit I came for the fantasy, but in the end, I stayed for so much more. Sure, the whole thing about the main characters traveling to a different universe, the small details (like transparent paper, difference in counting, snow in Thailand...), and even the shooting places in the series somehow feel fantasy-like. At the same time, the emotions that characters experience and go through, create an almost “slice of life-ish” atmosphere.
For instance, we don’t know much about Talay’s and Puen’s lives before they traveled though it seems they weren’t completely satisfied with their lives there. Puen was an actor who didn’t have much time for himself, while Talay just landed his dream job, but later confessed life itself was also draining his energy (and he used it as a reason for being single as well). And that feels very real as life indeed can be very exhausting at times and our dreams and hearts are not always easy to follow. For some unknwon reason, two of them travel and meet in different universe and in somebody else’s bodies. When that happens, they start to realize life doesn’t suck as much with the right person beside them and start to open their hearts for each other.

In addition, I love how both main characters are built very much equally. They have their weaknesses, their strengths, their dreams and their fears, and they don’t feel 2D as many other characters we’ve all seen in BLs before. I absolutely adore this couple’s chemistry, for it is somehow funny yet intriguing at the same time. Both are obviously inexperienced in love, but one is willing to lose his heart right away with the right person, which he’s doing quite messily yet confidently; and the other one doesn’t care about love much, but is surprisingly serious about his own heart matters when he starts to fall. I rarely get this feeling form BLs series, but I really feel like Talay and Puen help each other make better versions of themselves and it’s palpable how much they care for each other with their smallest actions and gestures. Everything aside, at times, there is this crushing anxiety of whether they will return together or if they will return ever at all. In a universe that is not their own everything the main characters experience creates this mixed, heartwarmingly bittersweet atmosphere which I find easy to relate to.

Apart from the main characters, we mostly see their friend groups, which account for a good comedy and nice friendships, and I love seeing them enjoy their time together and support each other. I can't imagine how much Talay and Puen will miss them when they get back to their own universe. Also, there are no annoying friends, no malicious girl characters, and no stupidly toxic tropes or miscommunication issues taking forever to solve.

To everyone who says this plot is complicated: How do you deal with anything else that actually needs some thinking and attention?

2. Cast

As I haven’t really seen JimmySea together before, their chemistry both on and off set, came as a big surprise to me. It's apparent why I wasn’t so sure of this pairing at the beginning... Both Jimmy and Sea are pretty new to the whole acting thing and this was Sea’s first time in a BL series, so I didn't want to expect anything groundbreaking from them. However, the more I saw of them, the more I realized how well Vice Versa suits them and now I can't imagine anyone else playing Talay and Puen. I watched Inside Vice Versa and honesetly, the director made such a great choice by picking Sea as the main character and then giving him Jimmy as his partner. They match each other so well and their acting is enjoyable and easy to watch. I hate overacting in series, but both actors here are great at showing the subtlest changes in their character's emotions without having to do too much.
And they are good friends in real life as well and it shows! They aren't as loud as some other BL couples because both Jimmy and Sea are more on the introverted side of GMMTV and it's honestly quite refreshing to watch interactions between people who are calmer, but still very comfortable with each other.

This is meant to everyone who came only for OhmNanon and left after two episodes: You are seriously missing out on one unexpected and sickeningly cute new pairing of JimmySea. Actually, with each episode I fall for the way they act in this story more and more.

3. Cinematography

Lastly, can we talk about the filming and editing in this series? From the colors accompanying each episode and perfectly representing its mood, dreamy and spectacular locations (which I’d love to see all if I ever come to Thailand) never seen in BLs before, to little details showing differences between both universes... And the styling? Can someone give the stylists in this an actual raise because BOY, DO THEY DESERVE?

My conclusion - If you take your time on this and actually pay attention to details, this show is quite literally an aesthetic masterpiece. Some people may not be aesthetic freaks like myself, but if you are, do yourself that favor and GO WATCH VICE VERSA RIGHT NOW!

4. Music

I love the Have I Found OST by Sea! It's one of my favourite songs these days.

I love this series!!

I will leave the review for each part:
-The story: It's a really good story and I do enjoy it, there are a lot of moments make me feel emotional. The problem is like others people said: too much ads, sponsor, it makes me feel a little boring and drag but I understand that they need budget. If we removed all the ads scenes, it would be so perfect.
-The quality of the series: the colors, the details, the way they edited the film is so good and beautiful.
- The casts: Amazing, since Jimmy and Sea are newbie actors, they did a really good job here. I love the others actors and actresses as well.
-Music/OST: I have to say this, the OST of this series is so good, there are 4 songs and all of them are on my playlist now.

Warmest Feeling BL Series

In my opinion, the vice verse storyline is very good and both lead actors did very good jobs in all ways for newcomers.

The final episode was very romantic and felt very warm and loving until the end.

Each BL series gives us a different feeling and a different storyline, but Vice Verse gives us the warmest feeling and how love grows into maturity.

I can feel that the character are truly there for each other and love each other so much.

You can't doubt either of the lead actors (Jimmy or Sea) have very good chemistry with each other. And they perform very well in all ways.

I can feel that it is a great success for them both for the first series. Keep it up! Great job, guys! Thank you guys!

(My favorite GMMTV BL so far, and even my favorite BL overall)

The series couldn't find it's 'portkey'

yeah there...I said it ! If you compare it with bls that has been released this year (so far) , vice versa's plot is quite refreshing and It had so much potential to be one of the best series (this year) but oh well, the team said...not today! The show had everything they needed , but they failed to figure out how to put that to work.

PUENTALAY/JIMMYSEA
The story is about Puen and Talay who get transported to a different universe and wake up in the bodies of tess and tun respectively. They later find out that they are each other's 'portkey'. They start living as tess and tun, working on projects, spending time with their friends, having cute / fluffy moments with each other, fall in love and that's that. Honestly, as the show progresses , the ' different universe' thing is flushed down the drain, you barely see them struggling or trying to figure out things. It doesn't feel like they are living as someone else. They then go back to their universe just like that.
There was barely any actual plot. THEY MADE THE SERIES JUST SO THEY COULD PROMOTE THEM PRODUCTS. LIKE THAT SHIT WAS FRUSTRATING. There were more product placements than the plot.

I loved the chemistry between the actors though, THEY SERVED. If it weren't for them, I don't think the series would've worked out the way it did and people would rate it this high. JIMMYSEA >>>

TESSTUN/OHMNANON
It was made clear that they were cameos but I still did NOT understand what were they trying to do with these characters. There were so many things that are left unanswered. The reason they fought, the reason why tun had a crush on tess, how did tun manage to work as puen [who is suppposed to be a famous actor] what happened when they went back to their universe, etc. I mean, they do show them smiling at each other at the end and stuff but do you think that's enough?
I also want to talk about Tess' character. It is implied that Tess is a brat and Talay lost his job because of him. That part of the story literally made no sense, it seems as if they just made tess the 'villain' (what he did still wasn't enough to call him that because they didn't elaborate what exactly he did in those 2 years) just to add some angst , they just didn't want puentalay to meet so soon. so yes, what I said, tesstun/ohmnanon were just there..to be there which exactly what was intended to be done but again, the buildup, those plot points in the beginning, promotion and all, what was the reason?

OVERALL
As I said, It had the potential but fell short. I would love to see the leads together in another series though :)
