"THE BEST LAW DRAMA OF 2022"

This is my second review after writing the review for " the sound of magic " . I wanted to write a review cause why not it deserves a review . YOU SHOULD WATCH THISSS . So i have put the rewatch value rating to 8/10 which should actually be 0 cause its a very memorable drama and i too want a 2nd season . The leads , support actors and plot and everthing was superb . This dramAa had everything perfectly - mystery , climax , thriller , sad story of shin chishik (which made me cry the most) , chemistry of the leads which gave us hope of romance ( i actually wanted to see their marriage scene) . So this story also has a basic background that even with the law not all people get justice and the bad guys use law and do bad things but in the end good triumphs over evil . This story was unique for me as the other law dramas were excellent but did not give me the urge to write a review . I dont have much to say but he last two eps were awesome and with climax and were touching and everything . It was a well balanced drama and the writers did not make it revealing as to why they were killed( which particular reason ) and who was who and the main crisp was kept in the last 4 eps and the end kept me in awe . My favourite characters were noh chakhee , jwa sibek and the top one actually goes to shin chishik . This is a reallyyyyyy DAEBAKK dramaa . I may not have written a good review but i assure you the drama is 1000000x awesome . Thank you :)

Well Woven Masterpiece

Oh my wow.

Acting yes. Music yes. Plot SO WELL WRITTEN.

Everything from start to finish was well placed and paced.

Our girl goes through a journey. Meets a public defender who is amazing at what he does. Starts to rethink the way she practices law and how she is.

There are familial, political, crime, and love plot lines. Though honestly it doesn’t go anyway like you expect. It’s funny, light hearted, and warm. Then suddenly it’s dark, tragic, and smothering to your heart. There’s revenge, justice, and warmth.

It is so well done that honestly it has something for everyone. It also keeps you guessing. The guessing and curiosity is what kept me going. Plus that classic will they won’t they. Yet already guessed early on how that might go. Watch enough dramas and making guesses comes as second nature.

It’s such a quick breezy watch. You’ll feel something watching this. Depends on your perspective. I do think we’ll all take something from it. A lesson is definitely wanting to be taken from the whole drama journey. You love who you love. Can’t forgive who you can’t. Feel for those who hurt.

10/10 would definitely watch again.

Good Drama, worth binge watch!

I like over all story in this drama. Acting is very clean. Deserves more praise and attention. It's good director didn't take it beyond 12 episodes.

The chemistry between main characters Noh Chak Hee and Jaw si Bek, was really good. Somehow may be because I like these two actors very well. For sure, the smile Jung Ryeo Won brinngs in every scenes, makes me want to see her more.

I liked the suspense and twists in the story and never felt it was over done in anyway. So I definitely recommend anyone who wants to have simple revenge drama, and with good acting.

Great characters, okay story

I thought this drama was going to be a "case of the week" format where each episode would feature a different client of the two main characters. And I won't lie, I would have preferred it to be that way. I am not generally a fan of revenge plots because they always become too over the top. But this one was well-executed enough, without too much melodrama (although there was still quite a lot).

I'm still giving this series an 8 because of the two main leads. Their acting and chemistry was on fire, and it made the show a real joy to watch even when I wasn't 100% on board with the story. The side characters were also decent and the ending was fulfilling and realistic within the universe of the drama.

I hope there will be a season 2 with the case of the week format!

Entertaining and intelligent law drama

Very nice law drama overall, I enjoyed it a lot. I like that the plot was well written and stayed tight, and coherent throughout the entire series with no dumbassery, fillers, or circus in the court room. The killer's identity reveal also comes naturally, without contrived attempts to prolong it being kept hidden (like in headache inducing Blind, for example). If you watched a certain Hollywood movie with a similar plot, or simply figured it out early from a rather limited range of presented characters then good for you, take a cookie.

The highlight of the drama is not "whodunit" mystery in itself, but the story behind it and FL's character development, which progresses considerably after she starts to get involved with ML and seemingly unrelated cases he one way or the other drops on her. I thoroughly enjoyed their characters interactions, they had great chemistry.

I'd say my only complaint would be that the initially calm and intelligent main villain made a big mistake down the line by trying to cover up another character's crimes (which would have been revealed anyway). And while trying to consequently cover up that mistake he started to get increasingly paranoid and made even more mistakes, which in the end led him to a rather dumb cliche end. It was totally avoidable, with minimal damage to himself, if only he stayed put and didn't do anything unnecessary. But other than that it was quite an enjoyable watch.

Good Enough

Korean Drama " May It Please The Court " is a law melodrama with strong characters.

And true, the characters, especially the female lead, were the highlight of the drama. Their chemistry was spot-on and enjoyable and it aided the progress of the story a lot. The female lead, moreover, was a strong attorney who had an interesting character and her performance was just right for her character, without overdoing her emotional scenes. The male lead, also, handled his character brilliantly. Their intereaction, in addition, was what makes the drama worth watching.

On the other hand, the main story was not as good. It was predictable most of the time, though there were some really dark moments. And yet, it needed a fresh twist to it.

So, overall, six out of ten.

Worth the watch

It had been on my watchlist for a very long time and I was finally able to finish it. I really enjoyed the drama.

Story: The story was interesting. The plot twists were good. But if you are an avid suspense thriller watcher you could have guessed it. It is not something unthinkable. For most of the story, they focused on small cases still keeping the serial murders as the highlight. I feel the pace was just right and 12 episodes were the suitable no. of episodes. I would have loved to see a bit of romance between the leads but I guess their chemistry satisfied me too.

Characters:
I loved the female lead. She is cool and badass. Initially, she is portrayed as a cold person but gradually we get to see the real her. The one who would risk all her success to help a friend and would go against her rational thinking to protect her client. She faced a lot of revelations throughout the story which shattered her, but she always came out strong and independent. Even though the ML did help her a few times I felt she was capable of getting out of those situations on her own. I am happy that they portrayed her as independent and capable and not made the ML secretly help her or something like that. She made mistakes in the past which she realizes and tries to amend. Jung Ryeo Won did a great job.
The male lead was a mysterious character or that is what the story wanted us to believe. He seems very friendly and righteous on the outside while harboring dark secrets. Ultimately he is the all-good guy who has done nothing wrong. One which has a painful past just like typical kdrama characters. It was a good character but could have been given more depth.
The side characters were portrayed well. Each of them had their own stories and struggles to deal with. It fitted well into the story.
The villains were mostly all bad people. I wish they had shown some story to them as well instead of making them just a typical villain who troubles others for enjoyment. The acting was good but the characters could have been better.

Overall, I felt it was a good mystery law drama and you would enjoy it a lot if you like law or mystery dramas. I would watch it a second time too.

United For Serial Murder

A cool drama…….??

Starting from a coherent story. Nice plot twists. The music really hits, and makes the audience dissolve. Even the glimpse of the torture on the victim is not horrified or disgusted.

Salute to the selection of actors / actresses that are done properly. Lee Kyu-Hyung often gets the role of a "cold" figure like in the Korean drama Doctor John. In the Korean drama May It Please The Court, Lee Kyu-Hyung becomes Jwa Si-Baek who is smart, cold but can joke around at certain times.

Likewise Jung Ryeo-Won, this 41-year-old beautiful actress is already well versed in acting as a law enforcer, such as in Korea Diary of a Prosecutor, Korean drama Witch at Court. In the Korean drama May It Please The Court, No Chak Hee succeeded in playing the arrogant, hardworking and intelligent

The 12 episodes felt solid and made me curious about the next episode, perhaps due to the skill of screenwriters Kim Dan and Jung Hye-Jin in concocting stories. The success is inseparable from Jung Hye-Jin's role as the original writer of the drama based on the novel "Byeonloneul Shijakhagekseubmida" (published December 6, 2019 by Miraeuichang).

Without excessive narration, the audience is invited to understand the story from the very first episode. Rows of luxury cars come on pilgrimage to the cemetery. Then a group photo scene appears, to explain the position of No Chak-Hee, a child of a household servant who has to live in high society, but still experiences discrimination.

There are many interesting figures in the Korean drama May It Please The Court, including police detective Jung Jae-Geun whose hobby is making up murder backgrounds.

Luckily his position as a lawyer does not have the power to arrest people. If he was a police detective, wow that could be dangerous! It is said that he wanted to arrest Jwa Si-Baek (Lee Kyu-Hyung) because he did not like this lawyer, and was confident that he could get a confession after torturing him. Oh my gosh!

Typical of old-fashioned police whose hobby is forcing people who are considered suspects. No wonder they never caught the wrong person.

If I had to criticize: The 12 episode count is noticeably lacking. There should be 16 episodes, so that viewers can watch it more comfortably, because the Korean drama May It Please The Court is full of crime stories, and even though they are connected, each perpetrator has a different history of crime.

Ordinary but not Ordinary Legal Drama

I Initially thought that this is a common legal drama and I wouldn't have minded since I love legal drama but I'm pleasantly surprised and real glad that I watched this. It is a common legal drama with twists that I love. I also loved that it didn't have the they-knew-each-other-when-they're-kids which seems common in KDramas.

The story was well-written and it will keep you guessing. It might be a little gross for some as they showed some of the tortured dead bodies.

For me, the FL acts ok but it seems she's not fit for crying roles. I like her acting when she's not doing her crying scenes. I specially liked her chemistry with the ML, their bickering is really cute. I also liked that even if this didn't have that much romance. it didn't lack the heartwarming and cute scenes either.

For those who enjoyed Vincenzo, Why Her, and the likes, I'm sure you'll enjoy this one too

Good Legal Thriller/Drama

This drama was better that I thought it would be. I thought the entire cast was really good. I haven't seen the ML or FL in anything but this but they both played their roles well.

The greatest performance for me, however, was Kim Sang Ho who is one of my favorite character actors. He play Chisik to heart achingly, tragic perfection. This man deserves all the awards for best supporting actor. The last episode of the series is one of the best episodes of TV I have watched this year and his performance is why.

The series is about evil men doing evil deeds and not being hed accountable but someone decides they need to be. It's also a commentary on how the Court/legal system is unjust due to the influence of the wealthy defendants.

I really like the opening theme song and the the Silver linings song in the OST.

A solid story

Line between good and evil. What is morality in terms of law.
Which side do you stand on and are you as lawyer just doing your job and does it weigh on your being on the right or wrong.
I love the tackle on this storyline and its just beginning, who am i routing for? I guess it depends on the side you have viewing from
If i was a corporate lawyer i will make sure my clients win even trampling on the right...and if i was a public defender i would stand by my client to seek some sort of justice or will i cave for a payoff cause the reality is...you wont win against those of power.

Seated to see how it unfolds.
It picks the curiosity so yes dear watchers...click play on that first episode.
