I could not get into this at all. I found it so boring that i thought I was going to fall asleep zzzzzz I seen mvs of it and it looked quite gd but watching it well it was very disappointing. There nothing to captivate you from the start, the acting was so so and the music was just out of place. I am very very disappointed

Fluffy fun. But not my cup of tea.

Kim Tae Hee had uber good chemistry with the attractive Song Seung Heon. Wow. What a good looking pair, with tons of chemistry.

The plot was fun and cheesy and cute. Nothing too meaningful or extraordinary. And highly predictable. But that's fine, because what is done in terms of the romantic comedy aspects, is done well.

The whole monarchy of Korea story line could have been handled in a much more sensible and engaging manner. Many times, throughout the series, I had to ask myself "Why should I care about this whole monarchy story line?". And then I fast forward-ed my way through to the next scene.

Recommended for those who want to watch a lighthearted rom-com with lots of pretty couple chemistry.

Before writing this review, I had to decide if I should write it with my brain or my feelings. Because my brain was really offended by this drama but there were so many squee and happy moments where my emotions were just on such a high.

Despite the irritations of this drama, all the characters and scenarios are interesting. I didn't skip anything because I needed to know what was going on, or I needed to giggle at the palace staff.
The main characters are blatantly selfish. It's kind of nice not to see the goody-goody personalities or justifiable actions that are usually portrayed in dramas. In a way, because they are so bad, it almost justifies the harsh retribution that the other characters dish them. I like this quandary. Did they deserve that or not? Am I happy to see them crushed to oblivion? What does that say about me, or the other characters who felt they needed to step in and punish wrong-doers?
There are a lot of moments of, “Wait, what, why?” The characters logic is not always the best.
I was particularly frustrated when no one would explain why to Lee Seol. They always just strong-armed her and if they would just talk to her, she would understand and go along.

Romance
I was not expecting this drama to start with the heroine trying to help the hero get his lady love. She's actually very instructional, which always amuses me. I like how well they work together. And they're quick to empathise and show compassion for the other.
From the start, he likes her and thinks she's funny. Their relationship is pretty polite which I find unusual. Of course there's the usual jabs at each other but they're laidback which I like. They even play touch each other without any dramatic music or slow motion.
They have the perfect chemistry for sexual tension.
Their love confessions and their kisses are perfect.
Towards the end, Hae Young really lays down all his cards and he has some of the most swoonworthy lines. He's so content just to be with her. Also, I've never seen so much kissing in a Kdrama. It was great.
On a side note, romantic moments out in the cold seem more romantic when you can see their breath in the freezing temperatures and they're so focused on each other. Haha.

Lee Seol
From start to finish Lee Seol is clueless, stupid, selfish, and naive.
The age gap between her and the other participants in the love square is evident. Everyone of them points out that all she does is whine and cry.
But I also didn't like seeing her without someone who would be there for her unconditionally. Everybody wanted something from her either to trick her or use her. Later on, though, some of the palace staff get behind her rather comically.
Throughout the drama, she has zilch character development. Even in moments of crisis there are no shining points. She gets pushed around and demonstrates continual lack of direction and purpose.
P.S. The actress that plays her when she's a kid is the most adorable little girl and super talented.

Hae Young
Watch the drama for this guy. He is a beautiful man. The plot might suck, the heroine might suck, everyone might suck, but his emotion and his dilemma is so compelling I had to keep watching.
Hae Young has it all together. He's not particularly snooty but he is competent without being condescending. He's also kind. And not one to let arrogance get in the way of doing the right thing. I loved seeing him get into all sorts of trouble with Lee Seol. The things he does for her...so funny.
As is typical, he teases her and torments her but he gives up pretty easy too which is great. You can see he really doesn't like to see her unhappy. Every time it seems like he's really going to cross some lines with his behaviour towards her, he does or says something that turns everything right round on its head and you can see how he truly feels about her. The way he talks to her in that gentle tone of voice...gah, so touching.
He walks a fine line throughout the drama, struggling with what he wants, what he thinks he wants and what he thinks is best for Seol even though it makes her mad. He gets mixed up in professionalism and all. It really is his bad luck that he likes her so much.
Also, he calls Joo Sang Wook “slimy-looking” hahahaha.
Towards the end, Hae Young's playful side comes out and he's so damn adorable.

Second Female Lead
Even though she has some rights in the way she treats Lee Seol, she has a grating personality. She is dedicated to her cause and I hated her most of the time. The condescension, the control, ugh.

Male Rivalry
I live for the one liners when the two male leads are bickering.

“Stop...stop...If you want to cover her, just up to the shoulders are fine. Why are you moving higher?”
“Have you always been so talkative?”

I absolutely loved this drama!!!! It IS totally cliche, but I was way fine with it because it was super cute and humorous/entertaining. I will definitely be re-watching it in the future, especially if someone else is willing to watch it with me. Song Seung Heon is really handsome and the chemistry he had with Kim Tae Hee is excellent. The story is really well wrapped up with no loose ends, which I really appreciated. My Princess is pretty lighthearted and a similar story to Princess Diaries (which I also enjoy).

I enjoyed this drama quite a bit. Lee Seol is likable as the unknowing princess and I found the story to be sweet and as realistic as it could be. The villain was quite annoying and I just kept wanting her to go away. Park Hae-young was handsome...so soo handsome. This is the pure definition of a modern fairy tale.

Those lashes... why is it my first time seeing them

It isn't simply a rom com. The comedy is for show, only during the first few episodes. The rest was filled with emotionally beautiful drama.

The first 4 episodes were a lot of fun. But it is a really lovely drama.

I binged 10 episodes in two days. It was addicting.

The couple is lovely and had a beautiful relationship.

The director and music gave me the same adoration feelings I had with the drama Pasta.

What beautiful drama. Despite being boring at times that I skipped cuz I was binging it, it was fun to watch and touching.

It left me feeling sentimental in a very short period of time.

The acting was realistic.

I wish more dramas were like this one; capable of making you feel things along with it. That’s why love older dramas.

I loved them to bits. A true romcom.

My thoughts for this drama are scattered all over the place. There were things about it that I really liked and much that I did not. I knew this drama wouldn't be ground breaking plot-wise from the summary, but I just wanted to watch something safe where I would get closure at least since the last two dramas I watched (Marry Him If You Dare and Skip Beat) did not have that. The story indeed was typical for a Korean drama (a rags to riches girl who falls in love and a hidden secret from the past may ruin things for her). Even though the comedic parts were laugh-out-loud/rewind funny, they were far and few in what seemed to be a long and never-ending drama despite only having 16 episodes. The good-looking actors definitely helped lessen the pain of watching some of the dragged out, or even unnecessary scenes that I had to sit through since I don't like having unfinished dramas. Indeed they were eye-pleasing. Song Seung Hun has many good angles to his face while having a nice build and deep voice to match. I'll be honest, when I started this drama I had to rewind some parts that I missed the subtitles to due to his mesmerizing looks. He was especially handsome when he got angry and shouted (but I soon got over this since he kept using this technique in his acting and it lost its effect). Also, he started to look like Felix the Cat to me; don't get me wrong, he's still beautiful. Kim Tae Hee, Rain's girlfriend (one of the reasons I wanted to watch this drama), is one of the prettier (not cute) leading ladies I've seen and could very well play the part of the other woman that often has a more cookie-cutter type of beauty. Ryu Soo Young, if you cover up his sunken cheeks, is actually one of these good-looking characters along with little Gi Kwang. It's no surprise that these characters then (with the excepting of Gi Kwang) could play what I perceived to be scheming, self-interested characters who were not really searching for love or a means to protect their families despite what they state in the drama. It reminded me of My Name Is Kim Sam Soon without the script and what I believe the Heirs will be like (beautiful, selfish people fighting over love and money) since I haven't seen it yet. After the drama got boring (by episode 2 to my surprise), it was this perception that helped to make the drama entertaining for me in parts that I found to have unintended cruel humor apart from the far and few intended jokes. The first episode actually had a good ending and made me believe that the main character really did care for her father to the point that I was almost in tears, Afterwards, however, she became the most selfish, whiny and spoiled character I've ever seen on a Kdrama (including side characters meant to play this part for a comedic effect). Her unintended apathy towards people in her desire to get revenge along with the random moments of pretend sympathy were more bone-chilling than even Yejin's A-list acting for a villain. Despite not being a fan of Yejin prior to watching her on this, I became a fan of hers and not only sympathized, but rooted for her little character living in an unjust society. (This is weird since I never saw her as cute even with her aegyo in Family Outing until I saw her character here which is supposed to be a villain but seems to be the most logical and caring person of the bunch even when others don't care for her). The selfishness of all four main characters was part of the reason I was unable to see the romance at all despite their cute individual expressions. This left me very confused at some parts as to what was happening in the relationships since many parts seemed to be random. The story got very entertaining again (actual and not in-my-head entertaining) around maybe episode 9-11ish then quickly died down again. Surprisingly the last episode, though not great, made me happy (this could also be due to how excited I was to finish this drama). I would not recommend this drama unless you are very creative and have a sarcastic/ cruel sense of humor. It might just be my taste but it was excruciating to the point that it was hard to even sit down long enough to finish this. The actors were in no way the problem and I would watch other dramas with them, especially Yejin, Seung Hun, Lee Seol's mother (who by the way was very cute in this drama and reminded me of my own mother), and of course, little Gi Kwang. I might watch Tae Hee's IRIS too since I like Baek Ji Young's OST to it.

The story confused me abit and it was a bit boring at times because it wasn't as dramatic as it should have been (i.e. like goong). The plus side is that it is funny and the leads have a good chemistry. Unexpected events occured so it kinda kept you interested in watching the drama. The beggining of the drama is better then the ending, and the middle part is mostly....empty. Overall, if you like watching a light-hearted, comedy drama then watch it.

When I read the tittle, I though the drama contains fairytale elements... Anyway, soon I saw it is not any fairy tale, but there is big political scandal. Maybe, Lee Seo is not suitable for a princess, but her dressing-room and the palace are gorgeous. Park Hae Yeong... I love his malignant nature. However, I don't understand Yun Ju's acting. She was so complicated.. Even I don't menton about her personality... no feelings...

All drama is likable, though the secrets are very irritating. If they know a trust, there woudn't be much confusion...

I was really excited about this drama. So much so that I resisted the urge to watch it until it was completed. I wanted to be swept away, to get the full effect. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations, which admittedly were quite high.It isn't bad per say, just not as amaizing as it could have been.I am usually a sucker for such concepts.Conceptually it was brilliant, it that light and entertaining category but in terms of execution it failed to met its potential. That is the major problem with this drama, it promised so much that when it failed to deliver on all of it , you are left with this empty, unfinished feeling. Major plot points were missed in the middle and gaps tried to be filled in the end when it was just to late. The result is that,as a viewer it became slightly disjointed and you lost your emotional connection. Having said all that, I would still recommend this drama. The acting is good and the cast beautiful enough that you are willing to forgive. It is light, funny and entertaining. It could have been amazing, but ended up being good...which when you think about it isn't bad! Recommended for easy laughs and a comforting, sweet distraction.

I really enjoyed this drama!
It was a fun watch. It kinda had it all and I cannot say I got bored half way through the episodes. There was a lot of humor and wit between the lead couple coming together and a lot of silly scenes with the Princess adapting to a new life. The storyline to this does not let you down and it's very light hearted at times.
As always you have that one evil leading lady you just love to hate. But no character in this is not without redemption or forgiveness and every character comes full circle by the ending.
If you are a more fast paced or BBF kinda fan this might not be the drama for you but if you like a storyline that builds towards a romance / relationship then you might wanna give this story a try.

This review may contain spoilers
After watching few episodes from this drama
I was enjoying much and I was going to rate it high till ep.09

starting from episode 10 everything were in mess
The characters development were under zero
Women's character in this drama were divided between
Naive , frustrating and selfish B****, annoying

The story wasn't good enough
many events were illogical
The plot was ok
The romance was lukewarm
The villains were extremely annoying
The FL character were depressing

And the punishment for the villain characters were weak

What happened to yoon joo and the FL'S sister weren't fair enough for what they did
And they continuing selfish B**** as they were till the end

The FL continue naive and weak till the end
Jung woo the professor was too loyal for such a great B**** like Yoon joo

Something went wrong after ep.09 which made me lost my interest and took a deep breath after I finished it

6/10 just for seung heon because I'm big fan for him
His acting is superior really
Inspite he was smiling most of the time when he looks to the FL while they were talking seriously
Which made the acting lost it's credibility
