As expected from a drama starring Cho Seung Woo
As expected from a drama starring Cho Seung Woo, this drama will never disappoint you. And the main fact that blew my mind away was the cameos in it. idk if all the veteran actors just decided that this was the drama of the year, but almost all the cameos are by veteran actors and there's hardly any new face in this drama. The story itself is wholesome and melts your heart in so many ways. The target age group is mostly middle age but I think it's a nice to watch drama for young adults as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, to the point where 12 episodes seems very little to me and I was at a loss after every episode, cuz I was so deeply into it.

Basked in the Awesomeness of a Piano Concerto
I watched this drama because of our "Stranger" ML Cho Seung Woo. I wasn't prepared for the trot and piano association of the drama but for me, this was an easy watch.I admire the friendship of our three musketeers. I couldn't help but smile, laugh, and I have to fight that desperate urge of wanting to join their squad! especially when they are out there camping.
So expect to be touched and to feel good about living . Expect to cry, and be angry at the same time. And most of all, expect to be entertained. And that's Divorce Attorney Shin ladies and gentlemen!

Very watchable
I'm a big fan of Cho Seung-woo and he didn't disappoint in this role as a divorce lawyer .His background story is unusual, as is his amazing ability to come up with winning strategies in the court.
Few characters have substance and the portrayal of S.Korea's attitude to divorce (with the women always being the mistreated party in this drama, yet still getting the worst attitude for going down that route), is massively out of step with modern times. The country is too often portrayed as misogynistic with attitudes more at home in the 70s. It really does not do any favours.
With the crap some of the women are living with, anyone who still believes all divorce is wrong, needs to live that life. Bet they wouldn't last a week.
The marriages depicted are all too real for many, so I can hear a lot of shouting at the TV when the women are looked down on.
Perhaps with this drama they are trying to show that divorce is better than living in misery (and let's not forget that men get abused too).
However, for me, it wasn't the tragedy and personal fight in Shin Sun-hang's life, or the stories of the women he represented, but the wonderfully portrayed friendship between him and his long-time (and suffering) friends, Hyung-geun and Jung-shik, that totally made the drama for me. 3 very different characters, who bicker, drink, eat and laugh together. They are always there for each other though and take the kind of liberties only true friends could.
With an ending that made me happy, this drama is not a difficult watch at all and I certainly enjoyed it.

Laidback Series
Divorce Attorney Shin isn't like other law dramas where there is a lot of dramatic cases and dialogues in courtrooms. It's a quite down to Earth style of story-telling.There is a bit of mystery surrounding what drove Attorney Shin to change careers from being a pianist to studying law but it's not an over the top story. A lot of the cases that are dealt with in this show are quite realistic and sometimes divorce is quite necessary. Shin makes sure to never judge his clients.
If you are hoping for a romance plotline between the leads, there is none but there is romance as a secondary storyline. There is also a very mature version of bromance that grows on you.
The child actors played a wonderful role. Both mother and child and Shin and his nephew had heart-warming relationships.
Overall the show is quite enjoyable.

Refreshing Storyline and Superb Acting
I was hesitant to watch this drama at lst. I have not seen Cho Seung Woo's acting yet and he doesn't look very handsome. But the lst episode glued me to my seats. His acting (plus the rest) was just superb. His role as Shin Shun Han was made for him. He resemble a bit like Jacky Chan - serious, funny and yet entertaining. I like the drama because he worked hard and won all his cases, there's always good feelings too these achievements. All the cases were different but as a good lawyer, he work hard to find ways to fight the villians. This drama is all about deep friendship and relationships and how problem cases are won. It doesn't include heavy romantic scenes to draw the audience. Very motivating and inspiring. I whatsapp my group of friends and relatives as a MUST WATCH drama. Well done. Was this review helpful to you?
Best Bromance trio in Kdrama land!!!
To sum this drama up, this is a quick enjoyable watch that will leave you moved and with a big smile on your face most of the time. With a solid story, strong cast, witty dialog, and awesome characters, what's not to enjoy.
The winning recipe is by far the bromance between the three male leads, it surpasses any I have seen in Kdramas (better than My Mister), it will leave you feeling moved, happy, warm, and strangely jealous at the same time. Who would say no to such a strong long lasting bond between three single middle aged men, friendship that is shown to have endured many lige events, up and downs, with each of them going through their highs and lows, and their two buddies always there to share the laughter and the tears giving the best support and shoulder to each other.
There were many silly and funny things that they pulled on each other (like crashing on their friend's first camping date) but many more moments that showed how they truly cared and genuinely worried about each other, like how whenever they felt even the slightest possibility that one of them was feeling under the weather they would fly to be by his side. It was heartwarming and moving beyond expressions. For me above anything else that part of the story made this drama all the more worth the watch.
I know I might be hated for this, but I lately realized that I am a sucker for dramas with a 12 episode format.
I honestly don't know if in this drama's case it had been by choice or if it was a result of some mid-production decision, and I don't care to know in all honesty, cause what I care about is that I much prefer it over the usual 16~24 episode format, and I am positive that it was the perfect format for this specific drama. Someone might clap back saying "if you realy enjoyed a drama, you would not say that, no, you would be appreciating every second of it and wishing for more", and I would reply to that with "what is your proof to that?! What proves that a favorite drama of mine would have been any less favorable if it had been shorter, also haven't you ever heard of sequels that destroy a series? Too much of a good thing is not always the right way to go about it".
Haven't you ever loved a drama to pieces, while still wishing a certain character or story arch had been cut even a little bit? I have.
There are drama who have a simple main premise, but choose to plant many side characters each with an intricate web of side plots, and while it sometimes turns out with a positive outcome with viewers sometimes even rooting for and more invested in one of the side plots, I find that in most cases the opposite happens with too much filler stories, where in the best case scenario if it doesn't completely put one off or ruin the whole experience, you're still left fast forwarding a lot of scenes on a second watch or even sometimes first watch.
In the case of Divorce Attorney Shin, everything was to the just the right amount, each character was carved in a way that made them interesting, and you sometimes find yourself intrigued by their background story, but you're just shown the perfect amount of back-story enough to flesh out the character and make it relatable without going into too much details that could jeopardize the flow of the main storh. Even for a plot that heavily relies on past events that took place before the story picks up, We don't get too much flashbacks played over character brooding into the distance or getting drunk in the current time. There are details and events that although highly relevant to the plot are only ever hinted upon which is kind of refreshing and something that I appreciate in the directing of a drama or the writing of works of fiction, where the writer leaves a space for the viewer/reader to imagine and build their own version of events based on their own personal interpretatio.
I also really liked how this drama didn't follow in the tracks of other rom-com dramas nowadays, where it almost feels like the writers had a prior wish to become matchmakers or something, with the drama ending with not even one single character not in a romantic relationship with another character, however much it may feel very forced.
For fans of romance dramas, this drama might sound lacking in this sense, but trust me, such slice of life type of dramas that depict everyday characters going about their everyday lives (check my other favorite kdramas like Misaeng or My Mister) can be in some cases even better that the usual romantic and melodramatic stories in making the viewer think and appreciate what it means to be blessed to be surrounded with people who care about you. This drama left me wishing I had such a strong and powerful bonds with my friends, that's how great the main trio's friendship was.
All in all, I highly recommend to all, especially to fellow fans of Cho Seung Woo he was very charismatic and endearing in this one.

A different kind of drama
This drama deserves to be put in a category on its own. It's definitely not a romance drama, it doesn't really revolve around one family drama either and it's not exactly a law & investigation drama. The story is so well laid out that there is really nothing much to complain. While watching, you will be put into a different perspective towards divorce. Yes, divorce in general is not exactly a good thing but it's sometimes necessary and essential for the betterment of the couple (and their kids).
Each character is portrayed so well, I really think this is the best cast they could put together for this drama. The evil stepmother is evil enough to get on your nerves. The cool uncle's love towards his nephew is so touching, it really beats your typical romance drama. I love the parts where he would swallow back his tears because he felt so bad for his nephew. The two little boys are very good in their characters as well - both very cute and very talented child actors.
Although I love the story and I love the cast, but it is definitely not a drama you'd watch over and over again. It was nice to watch but not addictive. Highly recommend for first timers.

SPOILERS FREE!!
This is my first time writing a review, so I hope this helps .Here is my review of the first four episodes.
The story is about an ex-pianist who studied law to take revenge on his sister's unexpected death. And during this journey, he takes on various divorce cases to help people not reach the same end as his sister. That is basically the plot of this drama.
If you are interested in law and comedy genres, I'd say this drama is for you. If not, then you should not watch this drama.
There are a few cliches in the story line, but the acting of the leads makes up for it. There is enough comedy and mystery to keep you entertained throughout the episodes. It also shows certain situations that many families face nowadays.
The friendship between the ML and his friends is really refreshing to see, and some people might also be able to relate to their chaotic nature.
This is my review, I hope it helps you guys. But I personally have loved this drama until now, so I am going to stick around. I hope you guys give it a chance as well.
byee!!

So good, I'd marry it
Wow! After I finished watching this, I sat for a long time in front of its entry on my personal Drama database thinking, "should I give it 9.5, or mayber 9.75?" In the end, I couldn't think of any substantive reason not to give it a 10, so I did.The Drama was already at a solid 9 heading into the final episode, but the way it totally nailed the landing earned it the upgrade. The outcome of the defining conflict was wonderfully suprising in its low key realism. The writer(s) clearly grokked the principle of less is more - no implausible last second revelations yielding a fairyland win that defied belief. One reviewer said they felt the key villain didn't get enough payback for their actions, but here again I think the Drama excelled. Yes, I wanted, REALLY wanted the utterly vile human being to get their full comeuppance, but the route the Drama chose was no free pass for their crimes, that's for sure.
That part of the storyline was the central plot arc, but the other reason this Drama is another rare 10 for me is the amazing friendship between the 3 male leads. Bromance is an overused word, but this Drama showed possibly the best I've ever seen "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers" - the perfect description of this trio. They were natural, credible and inseparable, prepared to do anything for each other. Their interactions generated laugh out loud moments, and real emotional reactions too. Superb.
Finaly, a tribute to the astonishing skills of Cho Seung Woo. I last saw him in Forest of Secrets 1 & 2, and watching him display a wide range of real human emotions in this Drama left me in awe of his performance in those two Dramas where he showed absolutely no emotion at all.
I'm now nearly halfway through my 11th year of watching East Asian Dramas. That I completed 100 inside the first 9 months, and have taken 9 YEARS to complete another 300 shows that Drama watching is like prospecting - you have to filter tons of dross to find the gems. But when you do, the hit it gives you is indescribable. Divorce Attorney Shin, is the latest, and onbe of the fines, of the gems I've found.

Frustrating
My apologies but the story is frustrating and boring. I'm not sure if it's the dialogue or the pacing but something is completely off. What could have been said in one minute takes three to four which basically feels like the audience is watching paint dry. Likewise, the court proceedings lack the excitement that I've come to expect from legal dramas. It's as if everything is on cruise control.OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
