21 Days Theory is a special miniseries in Thailand. It is a BL story about two guys in their high school years as they enter a bet that soon became them falling in love with each other. It is something that we have seen so much of already but what I think is the strength of this BL is that they only have four episodes so they did not have to add so many details in the story that will just confuse the viewers. My usual problems with Thai BL is that they are adding to many things in the story that it can easily get confusing but 21 Days Theory did not have that because it is representing a BL story in a much shorter period. There are three love teams here but the main character is of the same sex while the other two are of the opposite sex. They did not have to overly complicate the love stories due to the runtime which became their strongest suite here. They are not actually bad because of it. Instead, they just used it to show the theory and worked on the main relationship instead. Luckily, it worked. I like where they went with the story and I like that they are just giving us a cute and innocent couple. It is always nice to see that. Q and X are actually very fun to look at. Yes, the acting is not the greatest in the entire cast but I think it is enough to really watch them all and enjoy the experience. Was this review helpful to you?

So cute but why so short!?
This BL was not cliche at all, despite the school setting. The acting was amazing, I was totally invested in every character.I loved the fact there is 1 BL cp, 1 straight cp, and Frank just wants Mild to be his sister. This was so endearing I gasped!
Why was it only 4 eps though!? This deserved so much more screen time! Was it a funding issue? Props to the makers for being able to make such a good BL out of it despite whatever cause. But I wanted more!
The back story of mom and uncle deserves to be told in more than just subtext. I want to see what happened at Mooks event. I want to know what happened in the 2 months X was in Japan. Did they stay in touch? How did they make up over text/phone? And last but not least, a few seconds could have been spent on the kiss.... Right?

Deserved 12 EPISODES -
This show is so sweet and the chemistry between this cast is electric. it truly deserved more than 4 episodes wow. first time seeing the guy who plays Q but I may say I'm very impressed with him and I hope we see more of him in the future when it comes to acting cause he is really good at it. 3 out of 4 of the Male Leads are from Love Mechanics and I'm not surprised. that show has a really good strong cast of actors.. even the supporting actors from that series has nailed their leading roles in this one.the X = Quality TSHIRT was everything.. this is definitely top 5 for me this year.. it deserved 12 episodes. the leads chemistry is really good.

Boring
This series makes four episodes feel like fourteen. Not only is the story mundane and based on a clichéd, illogical premise, but also the way in which it is presented is boring. So many scenes drag that halfway through episode two I started yawning.
Furthermore, the acting is subpar, especially Tee's. The only one who does a good job is Bever, but his charming performance is not enough to compensate for the awkwardness and lack of chemistry between his character and Tee's.
The one great thing about this series is its positive representation of women. I liked that the production team chose an actress who is beautiful in a realistic way to play the pretty net idol Mook. It is high time the entertainment industry stopped promoting the idea that only actresses who look like flawless dolls can fit into the beauty standard. Kudos to the production team for challenging this harmful stereotype.
Overall, though, 21 Days Theory is predictable and forgettable. I did not finish it. There was simply nothing that could keep me interested.

a miniseries that surprised me!!
Well i just finished it, For me, the last episode was disappointing. I felt that many things were missing and that it was a bit rushed (that's why I never like to finish watching a series, especially the last episodes), and since it's a miniseries, some things were a bit fast (in almost all episodes) But the visuals were the best, all the characters were very cute, and they acted very well, I really liked Mind's character since I had never seen a girl who does boxing, (clearly I'm talking about BL) who knows how to defend herself , she doesn't let people intimidate her easily and she's like more responsible and mature, her personality is just perfect, in terms of the story, not bad, but I didn't like it very much either. and lastly to be honest I thought it would be worse, but it really exceeded my expectations (except at the end), so I say you should give it a chance, if you don't like it you can always stop watching it :)Was this review helpful to you?
Cute but I wish it wouldn't have been cut in half.
I liked the acting and the story. But I also felt like a lot of the plot was rushed and when I found out that the episode count went from 8 down to 4 episodes it made sense. I felt like a lot of buildup was cut because of that and some of the essence was lost. Still, I think the writers managed to keep the gist of the story despite that. And I felt like it delt with real problems teenagers deal with when coming to terms with themselves and their sexuality. Ther acting by the main actors was good and they had good chemistry. But I wish the producers would have respected them and the rest of the crew more. Still cute little story about first love, parents' acceptance and finding yourself & love when you are not looking for it.Overall, I give it a 7.0 because I feel like this series could have given more.

Was this review helpful to you?
